nice hotel near forbidden city,clean but hard beds!

we stayed there from 8-13Jan 2012. The staff were not like some hotels that really look forward to welcome guest. They will not look at you even you walk into the hotel entrance directly facing them. They will only help you on your basic request. The more approachable people around there are in a cafe at the corner of the street. cafe name is Alley […] Cafe. they are very friendly and approachable and go all ways out to give informations on directions. The hotel staffs are quite helpful but rarely speak English. Good thing I can speak Mandarin. Location of the hotel is a bit inconvenient if you are thinking taking the subway. Room is reasonably clean but the bed is rather hard therefore I didn't have a comfortable sleep. Was told by the staff that breakfast cost RMB 28 but to no avail when I got to […] the cafe. It wasn't serving any at all. So I have to content with instant noodle that I brought along. Mehr

it started badly when the air-con unit is not working is not working. response was slow. upon repeatitive call, they relunctly send the room cleaner who ask inpolitely where were we from. she insist that we could open the window. but as we were on 3rd flr, we were worried the noise that will come and also the smell of smoking will be terrible with window […] open. anyhow, later in the evening after then they send a technician sho say he had repair the unit many times, it is helpless. we request to change rm but they insist rm is full where by when we try to bk by internet, rm are available. anyway other services is fine. we book the taxi to hotel and it comes in time. it's a good place to visit original hutong, and many food around here. just minutes away from wanfujing. Perfect position for sight-seeing around Beijing.Away from the main streets but still close to the local shops and the daily locals activities. We did book the Acrobat night show from the tourism desk in the lobby,only to be told when they dropped us off at the venue - to find your own way back. Otherwise the hotel was in a good position with various […] meals available close by. Clean and spacious rooms with obliging staff,especially the breakfast group. Mehr

So close to forbidden city it seems incredible (two blocks)

Room reeked of cigarette smoke; I had to request a room change but they were only able to spray air freshner to eliminate smoke. Check-out process was stressful and problematic: They could not properly reconcile charges for me and my party; Hotel is required to swipe your credit card at check-in and check-out - I'm still monitoring my credit card statements […] in hopes there are no discrepancies. Overall adequate hotel but on my next visit to China, I would try different lodgings. Mehr

nice hotel, good local food on the street

Pleasant hotel in a great location in Beijing. Five minute walk to Forbidden Palace, and conveniently located to most other major sights in the city. Hotel pretty decent standard, just general wear and tear. Staff helpful, with fairly good English. Overall recommend for the location alone.

Just completed a five day stay at the King Parkview Hotel and I am well pleased with all aspects of my stay. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, air conditioning worked perfectly. There is a beautiful view of Jingshang Park and the Forbidden City from the roof (unfortunately access is only available in the morning). The location is quite good - even […] though my first impression wasn't very positive. The road leading to the hotel is filled with local shops and food vendors which I really enjoyed. It was nice to be so close to the local culture. I was able to walk to almost all attractions within Beijing within 30 minutes which was often better than trying to negotiate with local taxi drivers who wanted to take advantage of tourists. Hotel staff was very willing to help when I experienced problems with the free Internet access. This hotel was a very good value and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing. Mehr

The pictures on their website looks nicer than what the hotel actually is. In general it is run down with old, stained curtains and carpets, but at least the bed was clean and so was the bathroom. The bed is very very hard and you feel every bedspring on your body when lying down - so unless you're exhausted by the time you hit the bed you'll struggle […] to sleep here. The location of the hotel is good if you don't mind walking, it is walking distance to a lot of sites such as Beihai / Houhai park & the Forbidden city. However - if you prefer taking the metro, then it is not convenient. Skip the breakfast in the hotel - there's a restaurant around the corner that serves delicious breakfast for about the same price. The service in the hotel was really not good. We got woken up one morning very early by reception phoning us and saying 'they copied the wrong page in your passport, please bring it down again'. We were not impressed with this. This is definitely a budget hotel, but we got a good rate so can't really complain. But don't be fooled by the pictures - and be prepared for a very very hard bed! It was comfortable but is a problem not have food available unless during breakfast if the hotel could add something else for food would be great. Rest of stay was ok as the hotel is in a very comfortable location, near the forbiden city and several shopping places.

The Parkview Hotel is disgusting. It is nothing like the pictures and only hard core backpackers would enjoy this hotel. It is a smoked filled dirty hotel. Across the street you will find the Shatan Hotel it is a nice hotel with great staff. It actually includes free internet in the room and free breakfast. Most hotel reviews for China from hotel.com […] are not accurate. Use a good new guide book and other people to really find a good place to stay in China. Mehr

Better option than the Redwall which is right down the street. The hotel is fairly new and large. The bed is hard but the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are large. Nice street outside with small restaurants and shops. Fairly good location although the subway is a twenty minute walk away. The north entrance to the Forbidden Palace and Jingshan Park […] (which should be your first stop if you're traveling for pleasure) are both nearby. Mehr

This hotel is good for the area in which it is situated. It is very close to the forbidden city. The staff is courteous as they can be for the little english they can speak. The bed is quite hard. it may be very uncomfortable for some. You have to go early for breakfast as you may not have much to choose from. The area surrounding the forbidden city […] is known for local tourist scams such as the art scam and the tea scam so beware for those of you who will be relieved to hear someone who speaks english well enough to converse. a bit tricky to find. public transportation access within 2 blocks. Room clean and within walking distance to forbidden city and parks but the beds are rather firm (hard) and they wouldn't give us another padding layer. One of the very best brealfast buffets in a lower cost hotel. A ltllet difficult to find but worth the effort. Would stay again

The hotel is located just 5-10 minutes of Forbidden city's north entrance and less than 5 mins to Jingshan Park. Take advantage of the small street - Shatan road, where there are small restaurants with great Chinese food - some of them have menus in English, some of them you just need to try your luck. The hotel is also called Huayu (at least on maps […] and everything branded inside the room). When searching for it, orient yourself by the Redwall hotel that is close by and by Publishing House that is right in front of the hotel, which is little bit hidden behind it. Rooms were nice and clean. Little smoky as usual in China. The staff was pretty helpful. The closes metro station is Dongsi on line 5 - it is just 1.5km from the station to the hotel. If there is two or more people traveling to the airport, I would suggest to take taxi as it is more convenient, faster and almost the same price. Mehr

The hotel was definately a lot better when view from the inside than the outside. Rather comfortable, reasonably sized rooms. Location was not too bad though at times the taxi driver didn't know how to get to the hotel. This hotel is located on a very small and narrow street.

veldig sentralt ,rent pent,harde senger,ligger en ekstra dyne i skapet da alt ok å ligge på!!! ikke kjøp frokost det er en tragedie. Mao gikk matte på universitet i bakgården!!!

L'hotel est vraiment très bien située à moin de 10 mins a pieds de la citée interdite et peu cher, c'est un bon rapport qualité prix, de plus le petit déjeuner est vraiment bien pour seulement 28 kuai. Cependant c'est un hôtel chinois, la propreté n'est pas digne d'un 3 étoiles français, et les lits sont trés dures. Mais pour ce prix en plein centre […] de pékin il ne faut pas s'attendre à mieux. Camere discrete, personale incapace (non sono mai, in una settimana, riusciti a chiamarci un taxi), indisponente. L'odore dolciastro presente nella struttura è preoccupante. Il quartiere circostante è sporco e mal servito: nessun taxi/risciò era in grado di portarci all'hotel senza aiuto da parte nostra.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the King Parkview Hotel in July 2011. The Hotel is located near a beautiful lake and the view from the top of the hotel is amazing (especially at night). However, the room was very dirty. The floor had not been vacuumed for a while, because it was filled with black hairs and my boyfriend and I are blonde. The bathroom was […] no exception, black hairs all over. The only clean thing in the room were the beds (thank god). The service was not satisfying. My boyfriend and I asked the reception personel to order us taxies several times, but the taxies never showed up... And when we asked the personel why the taxies were not there yet, they just answered "ohh the taxies are not coming". So instead of just letting us know that they could not order taxies, they let us wait and didn't tell us that there were no taxies coming until we acually asked them where they were. So you should be prepared to order the taxies yourself (or walk), because the staff is not cable of ordering them for you. Getting a taxi in the area can be quite a challenge and can take up to one hour in rush hour. The only things that made the stay durable was that the beds were clean, the area was cosy and the view from the top of the hotel was amazing. But I would only recommend it to backpackers with little money (and low standards), because it is not a family suited hotel. Mehr

고궁 후문과 경산공원주변에 위치한 호텔로 북경지리에 익숙한 사람도 좀처럼 찾기 어려운 곳에 위치 왕푸징에서 103번 버스를 타고 sha tanbei lu(샤탄베이루)에서 하차한 후 도보 1분 정도 걸은 후 십자로에서 sha tanbei lu(샤탄베이루)를 찾아 골목길로 들어가야 됨 호텔앞에 시장이 있어 과일을 싸게 살 수도 있고 기타 볼거리도 많음 로비에서 무선인터넷 사용가능 호텔은 깨끗하지만 방음이 되질 않아 시끄러움

Hotellet var rent og pænt, og det var et godt vestligt indrettet værelse, hvor der blev gjort rent hver dag - ikke en grundig rengøring, men tilfredsstillende og der blev skiftet håndklæder hver dag. Hotellet lå lige overfor den hyggelige park Kulhøjen (Jingshan Park) og lige meget tæt på nordindgangen til den Forbudte by, så det var meget centralt […] placeret. Og alligevel var der ingen larm på hotellet. Personalet i receptionen var hjælpsomt og snakkede godt engelsk. Mehr

Yes, the beds are hard. But if you walk all day in Beijing and end the day with some beers on the roof, you won´t notice it :-) Close to post office, ATM, and forbidden city. its a 1,3 km walk to subway ("Dongsei"), but you get a chance to see the nightlife and arrive to the hotel from the "right" side of the hotelstreet, with small shops and restaurants […] and so. Also visit the internetcafe at the corner and pet the dumpling-cat. :-) A little waring about the "foot and body"-massage next door. They really wanted to massage other parts. Хорошее расположение, вежливый англоговорящий персонал. Отличный вид из окна и с террасы ресторана. Из минусов - ресторан работает только на завтраки, потом до 9 вечера продает только пиво.

King Parkview Hotel’s location is a bit hard to find. Nobody knows the hotel and the hotel is difficult for taxi chauffeurs to find. The easiest way is to bring with a map and then point out where the hotel’s located. If you don’t have a map, tell the streets that are close to it, for example Wang Fu Jing, which most of them know. We had problems with […] the information from hotels.com, but the staff kindly helped us out. The rooms we had were comfortable and clean. I only recommend if you plan to stay in the hotel rooms for sleeping and resting. The rooms aren’t fit to hang out in. We really liked the location. There were food shops all way. We found a mini restaurant that we really liked. It tasted well with good prices. It’s too far to the nearest subway, but we found out that the buses are the easiest way to move around (except from taxis). If you can read Chinese then bus is the best way to move around. It’s much cheaper than travelling around with the taxi. For example, the bus stops at Wang Fu Jing which is an excellent place to go shopping. Mehr

when we arrived at the hotel and wanted to check in, the reception lady told us the hotel was overly booked and asked us to go to another hotel nearby, it was quite ridiculour as we have never received any notifications from the hotel. The sky was already dark and we had no choice but to relocate to another hotel.

Basic hotel. Hard beds. I enjoyed the breakfast. Staff was friendly and nice. And the street, Shatan back street, was a sight also :) But definately I'd book a hotel nearer to metrostation next time.

The hotel has a great location near Jingshan Park and The Forbidden City. We took a taxi from the Capital International Airport to the hotel, and it's good to know that they taxi driver will charge you for the fuel and the toll gate plus the amount the taximeter says. At the hotel the personnel is very helpful, and while their English might not be […] the best, if you give them time and is patience it'll work out. Patience is they key. Breakfast at the hotel is something I recommend, it was really good, we ate it until we were stuffed before we headed out on out adventures. The only downside we had during our stay was the showers sewer. It didn't suck up the water and eventually the water would flood over and ironically the sewer outside the shower works best! Other than that our stay was enjoyable, we had no problems, internet worked just fine even though it was slow at times, but that's a Chinese standard. I greatly recommend this hotel, it's located on a backstreet, and in the evenings you can buy cheap food from the local booths. There's a small convenience store around the corner, and the subway is 20 minutes walk away. The subway is indeed the fastest way to transport yourself while being in Beijing, and it's cheap too, though that means a lot of other people will ride too, but if you don't have any problems with tight and warm environment, I suggest you take the subway, it's worth the money and time! Hope you'll get an enjoyable stay in Beijing at King Parkview Hotel. Mehr

hotel bastante decente! queda muy cerca del centro sin embargo no tiene estaciones de metro cerca. Personal muy amigable con un manejo bastante bueno del ingles. Recomendado

We really enjoyed our holiday in Beijing. The Hotel was more than we expected. Lovely, english speaking staff with helpful spirit. Room was clean, quiet, comfortable and there was everything what was informed. Everything just worked! Bed was a little bit hard to sleep, but we didn't mind and the breakfast wasn't worth the money. A Hotel a Nyári palota mögött helyezkedik el, egy üzletekkel teli kis utcában. Innét könnyen megközelíthető minden. Légkondicionált, tiszta, szépen kialakított szobák. Nekünk nagyon pozitív élmény volt, és tiszta szívből ajánlom mindenkinek.

Dette hotel ligger rigtigt centralt i den gamle by. Fra baren på tagterrassen er der flot udsigt over den forbudte by og det meste af Beijing. Man kan endda se ud til den Olympiske by. Personalet er venligt, med med begrænsede engelsk kundskaber. Men som overalt i Asien bliver det alligevel løst.

북경의 천안문 근처에 위치한 킹 파크뷰 호텔은 자금성(고궁)과도 가까워서 여행을 하기에는 정말 안성 맞춤 호텔이다. 그러나 북경 중심임에도 불구하고 호텔을 찾기는 정말 힘들었다. 택시 기사들도 그 호텔을 잘 찾지 못하였다. 인지도에서는 조금 많이 떨어지는 것 같았다. 힘들게 도착한 호텔은 생각보다 훨씬 괜찮았다. 시설도 나름 깨끗하고 직원들도 친절하였다. 특히 조인성을 닮은 듯한 벨보이가 인상적이 있다. 잘생긴데다가 어찌나 친절한지~~ 내가 여자였으면 혹 할 뻔했다. 아무튼 호텔은 전반적으로 깨끗하고 아늑하였다. 주위의 소음도 없고 욕실도 깨끗하였다. 인터넷을 사용할 수 있다는 것이 업무를 하는 사람으로써 정말 좋았다. […] 호텔 주변에는 시장이 있는데 정말 중국스러웠다. 중국인들의 일상 생활을 볼 수 있어서 좋았지만, 중국 음식 특유의 강한 향이 나를 힘들게 하였으며, 약간 할렘스타일의 동네인듯 하여 같이 동반한 나의 애인은 무서워하였다. 그렇지만 깨끗한 시설과 직원들의 친절함은 중국여행을 마치고 돌아오는 나에게 아늑함을 안겨주었다.그리고 절대 중국에서 인력거는 타지 말것을 말해드립니다. 3원이라고 하는데 실제로는 분당 3원으로 해서 돈을 받더라구요~ 아무튼 이번 중국여행에서 가장 좋았던 부분중의 하나가 호텔이었다. 가격도 적당하고 다시 한 번 가보고 싶은 호텔이다. 적극적으로 추천하지는 못하더라도 추천할 만한 호텔이디ㅏ. Hotellet ligger bra till strax norr om Förbjudna Staden i ett lugnt hutongkvarter. Rummen var rena, rymliga och av helt ok standard. Servicen var ok. Utcheckningen tog av någon konstig anledning ganska lång tid så det gäller inte att ha bråttom. I övrigt är det ett bra hotell som jag kan rekommendera, prisvärt och hyfsat centralt.
