O'Donnabhain's - Guest House - Kenmare

B&B direkt über hauseigenem Pub mit dem besten Essen an der Südküste. Zimmer einwandfrei, sehr freundliches Personal und zur Krönung bekommt mann das Frühstück wie gewünscht frisch serviert. Übrigens der beste Ausgangspunkt für den Ring of Kerry.

Tolles Hotel mitten in der Ortschaft. Sauber und gut eingerichtet. Hatten mit den angestellten kaum Kontakt, daher keine Bewertung über deren Freundlichkeit...

We were disappointed with the disparity between the age of the room we were in and the pictures on the website. Maybe we were in a room that hadn't been redone yet, but it was very old and dated and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Large, and clean enough, but not what we expected from the website. We got our key from the bartender behind the bar […] downstairs, but never saw anyone related to the hotel and couldn't find anyone to check out with when it was time to leave. We had pre-paid and didn't get breakfast with the room, so this didn't really matter, but was disarming not to ever get a receipt or anything for the stay, or see anyone related to the hotel. Bar downstairs is nice though and you can't beat the location! Mehr

We loved our stay here and enjoyed the irish music in the pub before heading to bed. Small but charming village with easy access to Ring of Kerry. food was great, so was staff. Room was well-appointed. We asked for quiet room and we got it. I would recommend this place to other travellers.

O'Donnabhain's is squeezed into a main street packed with interesting shops and eating places, and if you can tear yourself away, there's Kerry, Dingle, Limerick etc. all within a day's drive. The B&B business is run separately from the pub on the 1st and 2nd floors - not quite far enough away for the live music to be inaudible, but not too intrusive. […] We got a larger than expected room with 3 beds, and managed to park on the street outside every evening without difficulty. I liked some aspects of this hotel. Great location, the staff was friendly, restaurant was good and had live music, the breakfast was good. However, we had a room with a king (maybe queen) bed which seemed nice till we tried to sleep on it, it was extremely hard and uncomfortable. After a poor nights sleep, I got up to take a shower and it was ice cold. […] Not luke warm, cold. I spoke to the people working, they were friendly and sympathetic but explained that everyone got going at once, breakfast was between 8:30 and 9:30 so it put a demand on the water supply. Suggested shower in the afternoon when people were out. Didn't work for me so I took one cold and one cool shower when I was there. That combined with the uncomfortable bed makes me unable to recommend it. Mehr

Staff were very helpful & friendly. Room very clean and bright and spacious. Breakfeast was fine (would have prefgered more fruit available but Irish Breakfeast was fine). Only negitive, a hum of some sort in the room at night. It might have been because we were the last room on the hall and near some big fridge or something that hummed. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Guest House without any reservations. Lovely spacious room, nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was brilliant. The service was also excellent. We would definitely go back to O'Donnabhain's.

Stayed 3 nights in this old small family run hotel, very central, friendly, great food, a great example of Irish hospitality. Would stay again - I even bought one of their polo shirt, J & P of Pauanui NZ

What a great time we had. Our dream was to have a base in Ireland that represented the region of southern Republic of Ireland and nearby driving tours. The Kenmare area certainly did that for us. The food was top notch and very well presented. While this all sounds good, the time we had as a valued guest was amazing. We felt that the service and the […] friendly attitude was highly enjoyable and really germaine to Ireland but moreover the O'Donnabhain's staff and family business. Sometimes when you have a sefl guided tour you need to have questions answered and opinions offered as to tours and driving tours. The area is made for tours and the staff is knowledgeable, helpful and willing to stop and take a moment to give you directions. When you have a chance to book a time at O'Donnabhain's do so and take in the true character of the area in a real Bed and Breakfast experience. Finally, we would recommend this establishement to anyone heartily. Mehr

The location was perfect and the rooms were nice & clean. We felt it to be a very good value. It was every bit as charming as it looked on the pic on the internet. We were not disappointed with our first pub stay. Would definitely recommend this place.

Stayed here for a two night weekend break. A perfect spot in the heart of the most beautiful town in Ireland. A good nights sleep too despite been above a bar and no hen parties or stag groups stayed here either. Food in the bar was great also.. One gripe was that breakfast finished at 9 30 too early and a dog in a yard nearby nearby barking at any […] nightly noises. Mehr

Loved this hotel and would recommend it to all!

This hotel was right in town, with lots of pubs and restaurants near by. The room was big - we had a triple - and the only problem was that the shower water was lukewarm, and never got warmer. the breakfast was really good and we really were happy to be right in town. Kenmare is a cute little town, about 40 minutes from Killarney.

My brother and I were both very pleased with all aspects of the hotel,the staff were cheery and helpful,the food was really good and the atmosphere was just as we would expect to find in warm,welcoming Ireland.Ah'll be back !!

On a busy main street of Kenmare, the hotel's rooms are all to the rear, meaning that traffic noise in not heard at all. Parking is available to the rear, although we parked on the main street to the front, which was even more convenient. The bar - on the ground floor of the premises, had good beer, with an extensive menu. The food was excellent, and […] the service was tip top - Couldn't fault it really. Also, live entertainment was provided, which was an added bonus. The room we stayed in was spacious, airy and comfortable, although the en-suite door couldn't close properly. All in all, we would highly recommend this guest house / hotel to anyone. It's location is very central, at the foot of the highest mountain range in Ireland, and on a gateway to one of the beautiful bays in south west Ireland Excellent! Mehr

Wanted a small B & B and thought over a pub would be a great experience. It was! Location was great, so were the people, the food, the atmosphere. Cannot praise it higher!

Great location in town and easily accessible to many local sites. The rooms were clean, spacious, modern,and quiet, above the pub. The food and evening music was fantastic. The service was great. Cet hôtel est bien situé pour la visite ds le Kerry. Les chambres sont confortables et calme bien que je sois "tombée" à proximité des ventilations extérieures un peu bruyantes mais coupées vers 22 ou 23 heures. Le couple qui sert le pt déjeuner est particulièrement disponible et accueillant.
