This hotel suited us almost perfectly; the price was right and we were very satisfied with the room itself, the breakfast,and the beautiful lobby. It was a bit of a walk to the Inner Harbor, but the hotel provided limited shuttle service, which proved to be sufficient for us. We did walk it once, back and forth, but would never do that at night. The […] area around the hotel is the only downside, rather seedy and unattractive. The hotel is in excellent condition and well worth the price. They do charge you $12 a day parking and the parking is not unsecured. At night I went for a walk down to the harbor from the hotel. I was approach by two homeless people for money and one prostitute. This did not a problem for me, but could be for other less imposing types.

We were taking our trip to Baltimore because I had an appointment at Johns Hopkins. We flew in and took the light rail to the closest station to the hotel. The hotel shuttle picked us up at the station and they let us check in early! We had no idea that the hotel had the shuttle service, but it was WONDERFUL!!!!!! By just requesting a ride, the shuttle […] took us from the hotel straight to the restaurant we requested and then picked us up from the restaurant and took us to the hospital for our appointment! They picked us up after the appointment and also took us to the dinner location we requested. This was an amazing service and the staff was very helpful!!! Mehr

Close to Baltimore Penn station. Very clean, comfortable, pretty hotel. Free shuttle takes you to addresses downtown and the staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

I chose the Holiday Inn Express based on location, being the closest hotel to Johns Hopkins. The staff was fabulous, I had access to shuttle service making it super convenient to get to the hospital and the Inner Harbor. The hotel is beautiful, and the room was much bigger than I expected, everything was great. The only downside is a lack of a restaurant/bar, […] but I understand the the "Express" does not offer that service. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy, and I was warned not to walk around alone at night (I appreciated their honesty) so had to order out my dinner or take the shuttle somewhere. But I was there to get to Hopkns, so those slight inconviences were not a big issue. The hotel also offers special discount rates for Hopkins patients!! You need call JHH directly or the hotel to set up these arrangements. Mehr

The building is very nice - old bank. The rooms are comfortable. The hallways are like a rabbit warren, but kinda cool. The parking was a joke - sold out and had to park on the street the first night, get up at 7:45, buy my spot at the desk and then move the car for the second night. They advertise this hotel to be the closest to Johns Hopkins Medical Center. It's too bad it has to be in one of the worst neighborhoods of Baltimore. There is nothing around it, i.e., stores, restaurants, shopping, etc., that one can walk to safely. The hotel does offer a shuttle to the medical center, Little Italy, Inner Harbor, etc., but only leaves […] on the hour. The room was very adequate; however, the Dish Network satellite television left very little to be desired. Missing major channels, channels with no sound, grainy pictures, etc. Just horrible! The soap is wrapped in a cellophane that is IMPOSSIBLE to open, even with one's teeth. The continental breakfast was very adequate with cereals, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, bacon, cinnamon buns, juices, coffee, and milk. The shuttle brought us to to our a.m. appointment and was very prompt. There are many, many other hotels along the inner harbor that would be well worth the money. That's where we will stay the next time we are in Baltimore! Mehr

The hotel itself was wonderful. Very clean and newly finished with the standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast. The problem is that it is located in a questionable part of town and I didn't feel safe on the street in front of the hotel nor did I feel comfortable leaving my car in the small parking lot behind the hotel.

I will never stay at this hotel again. The front desk service was terrible - took 45 minutes to check-in, with only two people in line in front of me. Hotel location is terrible, cabs are almost impossible to come by. It's is a scary area. The TV listings don't even offer the major networks - ABC and NBC.

Room price felt a little high, but it was likely inflated due to multiple events going on at the same time. The hotel is only a few minutes of walking away from the inner harbor area which was nice during the day but at night the immediate neighborhood looks less savory than I'd prefer. The hotel does offer a free shuttle service within one mile, so […] if you schedule a ride in advance it is no worry. I was a bit surprised that they charge an additional $12 per night for off street parking. Given the room price I expected this to be included. Overall the room was clean, quiet and comfortable and breakfast was decent, but I may look into other hotels for future visits. Mehr

Since I booked my reservation with Hotels.com, the hotel did not guarantee the room we wanted. But, they were accommodating and upgraded us to a handicapped room which was larger and better. They also were very accommodating with the parking since on Saturday night it was full. They let us park in a space for employees for the night. The front desk people (all shifts) were so accomodating and nice and I know they work really hard. I recommend this plce because its a really nice place but the location is where I am iffy. Parking is a bit of a hassle since the Hotel parking lot is so small, youre forced to park on the street. It's a shuttle away from the National harbour and the bmore […] convention center. Mehr

Nice hotel, clean rooms, accommodating staff, not much in the direct area but a few blocks to the inner harbor, hotel has a free shuttle which was nice.

We liked almost everything about the hotel itself. The rooms are updated and comfortable. The access to the building was good and parking was not a problem. Lot is small but we weren't there on a holiday or anything. The walk to the Inner Harbor is not too long but it does go by some shady places. During the day it was fine, but I can imagine what it […] is like at night. We have small kids so we were to the harbor and back before dark. Didn't need the shuttle although its a nice feature to have if needed. No DVD players available to rent to play movies, so prepare to bring your own if you need to entertain the kids. They don't go out of thier way to be kid friendly but we were able to work around that. Also a bit noisy from the outside. There was emergency vehicle sirens every morning (although we were too wiped out to notice much). Good place to stay if you are looking to save some $$. Mehr

THE HOTEL IS BEAUTIFUL GOOD SERVICE AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE. THE ELEVATOR HAS NO A/C SO NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WARM BUT ITS ONLY FOR A SHORT RIDE.

When we arrived there were large garbage bags blocking the stairway to the room. No one moved them and we told the front desk person he replied, "That's the only way to access your room." The pillows were unusually small. The maid barged in and said, "oh you checked in?" It was after 3:00p.m. I was in the shower and she didn't knock. The curtains were […] sheer and the sun was bright. Breakfast bar all three mornings was chaos. Few selections and mostly out of this or that. OJ was red like cranberries. Coffee some how was worst than Folgers. Evening return to hotel was always surrounded with sirens and flashing lights. Hotel has no mini store and the surrounding area had no Convienence store. Probably too many robberies. Other that […] this I liked downtown Baltimore. Walk to Conference Center was about 15 minutes, lots of stoplights. Little Italy was about 25 minutes away. Very over priced. I loved the streak, lobsters and crab cakes. Navy piers in a few minutes. I could not have paid what my company paid for this room. Other that this I loved the place. Mehr

Great hotel - really unique in that it used to be an old bank that was turned into a hotel. They actually use the vault as an office - stunning. Very well maintained and clean. Everything in the room you could want. Continental breakfast every morning was super - especially the pancake maker - awesome! But the best was the shuttle service. They had […] the greatest bunch of people not only on the shuttle, but behind the front desk. They bent over backwards to accomodate all your requests. One shuttle van driver actually sang to the guests as he drove all of us around. He had a fantastic voice and was the most pleasant young man. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. a good walk from downtown, but the Shuttle makes the difference hotel is an old bank converted in hotel, although close to innerharbor, there is nothing around it other than buildings...

Overall, we were pleased with our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the lobby area was very beautiful. Parking is limited (and not free) which is a negative. We arrived early (around 1) and were able to get a spot, but not check into our room (however, they held our luggage for us in their vault!). […] When we went back at 4 to check in, all the parking spots were filled and the guests checking in ahead of us were quite upset. The hotel is pretty close to the inner harbor - you can definitely walk it. However, the walk takes you though a shady neighboorhood with some adult stores and clubs, so I wouldn't want to do it alone, at night, or with children. The hotel offers a shuttle, but we did not use it so I can not comment on it. The breakfast was good and included hot foods, such as bacon and sausage, in addition to the usual fare. My one complaint was that we payed extra to stay in one of the suites (which was quite lovely) and were upset to find that, due to the suite's location, we could hear everything that went on in the lobby. I think this is a result of the very high ceilings in the lobby and the fact that the suites overlook this area. Luckily we weren't kept up at night, but I could see it being a problem if you are a light sleeper or if you are there on a particularily noisy evening. However, like I said, we were very pleased with the hotel and would probably stay there again, just not in the suites. Mehr

We stayed during a weekend when they were fully booked so they didn't have an available parking spot for me. I had to park in the streets which worked out for me. It's $2/hr to park Mon-Sat 8AM-6PM. I wanted a hotel that close to Ann Harbor, so the representative at hotels.com recommended this place. This wasn't really an enjoyable walking experience. […] Fortunately, the hotel offers a shuttle service anywhere within a 2 mile radius - drop off and pick off. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast every morning was a plus. Free wifi was another bonus too. I highly recommend this hotel to others. Mehr

Hotel is beautiful. Rooms were very clean and staff at front desk were exceptionally nice and helpful! The only negative is the walk to the harbor, the neighborhood is scary but the hotel does provide a shuttel service free of charge.

I will never stay here again. We got to the hotel and had to pay $21.00 dollars to park on the street because the lot was full. When we got upstairs the bed had some dirt all the on the sheets. The curtians would not close all the way so the sun was burning me in the morning. I really was not happy at all.

Over all the stay was pleasurable: staff was decent, comfy bed, decent selection at the continental, but the parking leaves much to be desired. We were told the hotel lot was booked, and that parking was available on all sides of the hotel, but we weren't about to take any chances of a break in. We had to park two blocks away in a garage, after driving […] through a less than comfortable section of town to find parking. Mehr

The room was very clean and spacious, the breakfast offerring was much more than we had expected and best of all, the hotel was just minutes from the Inner Harbor area that we needed to be in. Am planning to return on next trip.

The hotel lobby was beautiful! The guy at the front desk seem to be a little scare of me, but he was nice. The guy told me that the hotel was just over a year old, which was good news to me. Looks like it use to be a bank. The parking lot was full, it wasn't that big to start off with. But we kind of luck out, because there was plenty of parking on […] the street and parking for free after six, so I had only end up paying like three bucks. Plus parking was free on sundays too. The room was kind of small. I had the king leisure. To me there was just too many lamps and tables in the room, which made the room seem even smaller. There was lint on the tables like no one stay there in a while. The rooms were very close together, so every time the person in the next room open or close there door it seem like they were coming into our room.Not all the station on the tv were clear, but the bathroom was put together nicely. The hotel did provide transportation to the harbor, but we just decide to walk instead. The hotel is located about five blocks from the inner harbor.(about 20 minute walking distance). I wouldn't suggest walking the kids down there at night. There was several night clubs back on the way to the hotel, and across the street there were some drunk people. The hotel does provide transportation until nine pm, so I would suggest to take the children on that. I didn't go down to breakfast, but my girlfriend did and she said that they have a lot to choose from. (It wasn't just a bagel and cream cheese if you know what I mean). Overall the stay was nice for a weekend get away. I will return in the future! Mehr

The staff at the front desk was wonderful. When I was out in the city trying to get to the hotel, she hooked me up with a cab by calling a reputable company, then when I explained my day hooked me up with a beverage (it was late). The room was clean, well appointed and reasonably priced. Would stay again - only a ten minute walk from the waterfront […] area. Mehr

This Holiday Inn Express is in an extremely scary area in Baltimore. I would not recommend it for families at all. Directly across the street is the Baltimore Juvenile Detention Center and 2-3 blocks away there are about 5 strip joints.

Formerly a bank, this is a beautiful new hotel. The beds were extra plush and loaded with tons of pillows. The hotel offered a free shuttle to anywhere within a mile...so we had free rides to the harbor, and the train station when we left. Johns Hopkins Hospital was also on the shuttle route. All you had to do is tell the desk clerk to that you wanted […] to catch a shuttle(which left at the top of the hour). To be picked up, you phoned in....return shuttles back to the hotel ran on the half hour. Although the immediate neighborhood wasn't pretty, I'd definitely stay here again. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The service was great. Breakfast was yummy with lots of options. Very clean hotel. Beautiful bedroom design with high ceiling. Would definitely stay here the next time I am in Baltimore.

Me and my wife travel alot for vacation, from Niagara falls Ontario, Orlando Fl, and Las Vegas to name a few, and this was the best experience at a hotel I have had to this day. Very clean and new feeling. The room was clean and comfortable without a single complaint. The desk staff was genuinly polite and helpful. This hotel felt like a 4 star hotel […] without a doubt. Seemed to be in a safe part of town, and not far from the harbor. And I can't say enough about the room we stayed in. I can't find a single reason to complain about it, and that is a first time for me. I was quite surprised by it all. Usually I can find at least some tiny thing to bicker about, but this room we stayed in was perfect. You can't beat the price for the quality of this hotel. We had no problems parking, always a spot available. Free internet in the lobby which helped us obtain local directions. I really enjoyed this stay. I will certainly remember our trip to Baltimore. I recommend this hotel to anyone, and I would stay there again. Just a little bit of advice though. If you get off at the fayette st exit off of I- 83, and turn up Gay St, Pay close attention, this hotel comes up fast around a slight bend, faster than I was expecting and you could miss it like I did the first pass around. I was probably just going too fast. But all joking aside, this hotel gets a great rating from me. Mehr

Very nice hotel and very capable staff. The hotel is only a few blocks from the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus every hour until 9pm. The shuttle drivers were extremely helpful and friendly. One driver even drove us around until we found a great restaurant. Only negative on the hotel was the "grubby" carpet in the […] elevators. Its only a few yards worth of carpet, can't be costly to replace. Other than that the hotel was spotless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Baltimore looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price. Mehr

This downtown Baltimore hotel is conveniently located blocks away from the Inner Harbor and Little Italy where several restaurants featuring Italian and seafood cuisines are located. I would recommend this hotel for lodging because of the reasonable room rates, accessible to points of interests and friendly staff!

They remodeled an old bank for this hotel. Very cool. They are still working out the bugs with the direct tv channels. Didn't even have all network channels. And the neighborhood is not the best. You feel like you need to park your car, go inside, and stay! But the staff is very helpful and breakfast was as you'd expect from Holiday Inn. It's just too […] bad they chose that location. Mehr
