Unfortunately after my first shower the floor was soaked with water escaping under the screen seal.The staff were very helpfull by supplying extra towels to soak up the water.Also the walls are very thin and we were awoken every morning by room next doors alarm clock. Staff very freindly and leisure facilities were excellent.

We recently stayed at the DeVere Hotel in Nottingham and again we could'nt fault it.We booked up 4 room this time for our family and the hotel made sure that our rooms were close to each other.There was a mix up with our boys room but immediately it was sorted out.The hotel has an amazing pool and gym facilities which we used.Breakfast was served using […] two restaurants to avoid overcrowding. Cannot fault the location or the hotel staff. Breakfast is excellent although you are moved into the Victory Pub as overspill when busy. This is not as good as the main room, cold plates and only warm food. Verve Grill was excellent with attentive staff especially James - a likeable and professional waiter, an asset to the hotel. I had a spacious room at the back of the hotel with a pleasant view over the nature reserve. The room was decorated in contemporary style and the bed was extremely comfortable. Sound insulation between the rooms was good, although I did get some noise coming in from the corridor. Staff were very helpful. The room was clean everywhere that mattered. […] My one comment would be that cleaning above eye level was limited (there were a couple of cobwebs on the ceiling). But all in all a very good standard for a 3 star hotel and some nice shops within walking distance, I would go again. Mehr

This place is as basic as you could possibly get, imagine a young offenders institute but with a bar and a disco. Ok if you are going out drinking all night, not so good for a short stay after a long flight.

Short stay visiting relatives. Very comfortable room and service was fine, Leisure activities very good. We ate in the restaurant on 1 of the evenings and the food was very good. Waitress absolutely adorable and very attentive. Just 1 criticism however, I asked for 3 different liqueurs at the Hotel Bar and they could not suppy one of them....that was […] the only disappointing point. Mehr

My husband and I stayed at the De Vere Village Hotel in Nottingham recently and we couln't fault it.The room that we stayed in was clean and very comfortable.The location was ideal with a large retail park near by.We've enjoyed our stay so much that we have rebooked another stay.Good value for money.

Good hotel and location / bar etc, Room very dusty , tv not been moved for ages , advised reception , also bar snack only on sunday =nts, the worst village i have stayed in and last week i stayed in 3

While this hotel was in a convenient location, the rooms were in need of maintenance. The shower control, which was operational, was broken in half, and all the taps in the bathroom dripped continuously. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the meal on the first night. A steak ordered as well done arrived medium rare, and promptly bled into […] the potatoes. Fish was acceptable but accompanied by sauteed green beans, which were burnt black. All swimming in oil. The swimming theme extended to the scrambled eggs at breakfast, when the waiter was spotted draining a pint or more of liquid out of the tray of eggs. Most unappetising. In short, we would not recommend this hotel. Having prepaid for our stay, the receptionist at checkout was unable to offer a discount for the poor meal service. A pity. Mehr

We chose this hotel as a stop-overprior to our narrowboat canal cruise since it was relatively close to the destination and it was next to a bird sanctuary. My sister is an avid birder so this made the perfect stop. Breakfast was included in the price and it was fine. The one thing to be careful of is the hotel is large and has a lot of walking/stairs […] if you end up in a section far away from the main entrance. Thankfully, we were fine with its location, but the wheeled luggage had to be carried up the 2-3 sections of stairs even after taking the lift to our appropriate floor. Our room was actually in between floors so no single level access via the lift. Mehr

Hotel was fantastic. Rooms were big and clean. Only negative thing I can say is the rooms didn't have air con and with all the flat roofs you couldn't really leave your window open. If you are looking for a city center hotel this isn't the place for you as it's a good 15/20 minute cab ride into Nottingham.

Very pleasant reception staff and clean, decent sized bedrooms. Breakfast was basic but fine. Yogurt offered the first morning but not the next three for example. Only 2 cereals. The only criticism was that they were very reluctant to give us any toilet rolls. We had 2 rooms booked for 4 nights and we were never left any toilet rolls by the cleaners. […] We had to ask each day for each room. The reception staff didn't have any to hand either and had to bring some upstairs themselves sometime after. They said that the order hadn't come in. If I'd know how long it would have taken I would have gone out and bought some but other than that it was a decent hotel. Mehr

Good value hotel - very competitive rate. Compared to Travel lodge etc includes cooked breakfast and use of spa facilities but you will pay for all extras - toiletries, early / late room availability, extra costs for credit card. Also if planning to charge drinks to room they only accept credit cards not debit cards then charge you extra on top...

We stayed at this hotel because it was fairly close to the function we were attending, and felt that it would meet our needs. The reception staff were attentive and helpful on checking in. However, there were several issues that we were not happy about and we mentioned these to the receptionist on checking out. Firstly, there didn't seem to be any ventilation […] in our bathroom, if there was it wasn't working! The shower attachment above the bath was damaged, i.e. there was a big hole in the wall behind it, the metal plate was broken down the middle exposing the hole. The standard of cleaning wasn't as good as it should have been, the small corner chair in the bedroom needed a good vacuum. There were no teaspoons supplied with the tea and coffee making facilites. We found that we could not contact housekeeping services after 4pm which wasn't very useful! We had to go down to the bar to find some! The room was quite stuffy in spite of having the window open all the time we were there. There was a fan supplied. On the plus side, the room was well lit, and it was good to find that there was a socket next to a mirror so that I could use my own hairdrier, this is often not the case even in more expensive hotels. Finally, and this is a gripe which irritates me beyond measure, I cannot stand bad spelling or grammar. The hotel needs to proof read its printed information more thoroughly. The welcome letter stated 'you're accommodation' It should read 'your accomodation' It might be a minor thing to some people but it implies sloppy administration. Mehr

Our Family room was in the "New Wing" which we were advised was difficult to find from the inside... We were directed outside...Passed the Bins and the Pool filtration system to a door that would not open with the keycards supplied.... Back to reception from where we asked to be escorted to the room and recieve an appology for the bins as they are not […] normally there.... (They were still there when we left at lunchtime the following day) Later I called at the pool to enquire about opening time and was pleased to learn that the pool was open until 22.45...When i arrid back at 18.55 I was then advised that my children were not allowed in after 19.00 by the same assistant I had spoken to earlier..... There is a total lack of information in the room to detail any of the facillities within the hotel complex..... Buck your ideas up De Vere.... Mehr

The first room that was given to us was the suicide room! The view out of the window was of a brick wall. We complained to the receptionist and was given another room on the next floor. The shower in that room leaked all over the floor.....apparently there is a design fault in the shower screen!

Stay only if you get a good deal. It is very clean and breakfast is satisfactory. Treat as a Travelodge with breakfast and a lovely bed thrown in. I disbelieved the previous feedback as we've stayed at all the northern hotels in the group - from the wirral, 2 in leeds,4 in manchester, newcastle and hull. WOW, I should have taken note. This is a characterless […] hotel, not of the usual Village standard. It has been extended with more accomodation, and I suspect they've shot themselves in the foot. The pool is ridiculous. A fun pool, not a leisure pool. You could swim for exercise if it wasn't so busy with other guests and swimming lessons (trying to prop up the groups profits). The changing rooms were freezing. I mentioned to the lady cleaning the changing rooms someone had been sick in the showers and there were still "bits" on the floor mats the following day. I would have liked to go in the gym - but these facilities like everywhere in the leisure area were over run with people waiting. Breakfast is not the usual relaxed affair you have with Village. Again the staff are hyped and rushing about. We're used to laid back staff who float around unnoticed doing their jobs. The room was crowded, the range of bread and pastries was poor and the fruit salad set out in small bowls that you had to keep waiting for to be refilled. you could have gone grey waiting to toast your own bread at this venue. long delays waiting for hot food items to be replaced. so glad this was a functional one night stay. we don't usually use Village for one night stays, we normally stay at least three - five nights. go here if you get a good deal and need a travelodge. The hotel was very nice with lots of extras but the room was very cold, on site restaurant very expensive and the staff are very noisy when clearing rooms in the morning. We were woke by loud talking and general chit chat between staff on the floor we were on. Breakfast was just warm and stodgy from being sat in warm trays.

Great location, clean and tody rooms with greta relaxing facilities. we'll be back

in the midst of a shopping/industrial estate, but next to a nature reserve. Lovely view of the sewage works from our bedroom window. It was a long convoluted way to our room (418) from reception. There are lovely comforable areas around reception to sit and chill out. Their is a nice cafe downstairs from reception adjacent to the leisure facilities. […] The pool is quite large, one of the largest I've been to in a hotel. It has restrictions on childrens swimming times like most, but theyre not unreasonable. Its seems a strange place for a hotel, but I guess being close to the A52, its handy for Derby and Nottingham, and probably for East Midlands airport. Mehr

I booked this hotel because I wanted somewhere that had a swimming pool and could accommodate a family of 4 in one room. The pool was better than expected and the kids had fun. However, the rest of the facilities at the hotel let it down...The hotel room was big enough..but hair in the bath, no towels or toilet paper..I was not filled with confidence...A […] meal in the hotel 'bar & grill'..a long wait to be served..microwaved food, cold pizza and the succulent lamb was anything but....the hotel is shabby in places and dirty in others..Not somewhere we will be visiting again Mehr
