Broken elevator,and really old beds

Overall we had a great time on our mini vacation. Far as the hotel. NO!!!!! Its very run down. Soon as we walk in the room the bed is right there. The kitchen counter top was crack, and NO private balcony. You can actually shake your neighbor hand. That's how close we where. BUT THE WORST THING WAS WE HAD SAND ALL IN OUR SHEET!!!!!! NEVER AGIN. We were spending our family vacation and spent our days at Meridian Plaza. The staff was friendly and very eager to help in any way possible. While we were on vacation my daughter a 2nd year college student from NC received a call from her financial department that her application had a mistake and she needed to come in correct. She told them we were […] on a family vacation they told her we had to fax the information by morning not knowing what to do we went to front desk and Bryan the shift manager pulled up the correct form for us printed it let me make the corrections and faxed it for us. Thank you so much Bryan you helped us to be able to enjoy the rest of our stay. The only thing that needed to make our stay the best possible would have been foam toppers on the beds the beds a little hard but tolerable. Mehr

After our family vacation in August 2011, all I can say is this. The hotel seems to have gotten a makeover not too long ago. The rooms are clean; the lobby is a bit awkward. When you go to check in the lobby has two doors. One is right in front of a column which makes it a bit uncomfortable to open the door being that you have to pull instead of push. Housekeeping […] was on time, only thing; our group was a party of 6 and trying to get extra towels was like pulling teeth. I never bothered asking the front desk due to the fact that every time we walked by he was always texting on his cell phone. Bedding, the beds are hard and the sofa bed was a bit grimy. The comforters are terrible. I recommend you bring your own bedding. I had to run out to Walmart and purchase a comforter because we refused to use the comforter in the room. It was rough and just didn’t seem clean. The location of the hotel and the beach are great, being that it’s at the Northern end of the beach makes it great for families. The pools were semi-clean, I guess it’s as good as it’s going to get, being that people don’t follow rules and prefer not to shower before entering the pool. They rather rinse off the sand and beach water in the pool its self. Parking was a bit of a hassle, I’m used to parking on-site when staying in hotels. Not here, parking is across the street. If you’re a smoker, look somewhere else. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hotel, including balconies. We didn’t mind, being that nobody in our group smokes. Would I stay at The Meridian Plaza again? Yes I would, but I prefer a hotel with a fitness center. Mehr

When we got ready to check out we were twenty minutes over check out time and they charged us twenty five dollars per room extra we had two rooms so the charge was fifty dollars extra this is the first time that this has ever happened to me and I have stayed in hotels all over the country

My wife and I loved our stay at The Meridian Plaza very much. The Parking was great not far from the Plaza. The service was on time, the workers was polite and real helpful. All I can say is everything was satisfactory.

Hotel change from smoking to non-smoking with one month....the signs are posted but not in clear site....we were charged with smoking outside the room but on the premisis, no warning but they grabbed $200 from you CC that is already on file...the hotel didn't even have the some cleared from the hotel when i WAS a smoking environment,....how could they […] charge for this...outrageous...I will never sta there again..and if some passerby think, just think it ws you smoking, there goes your $200 with out warning...don't think to argue... It was a great deal for the money. Right on the beach with every room being oceanview/or ocean front. Parts of the hotel were a bit run down (elevator) but over all, it was a good experience.

The hotel was a bit dated, but very clean. We were upgraded to an oceanfront when we checked in - so that was great. It had a full kitchen, living area and small bedroom. Great price, great location just a bit dated!!!

Upon entering the room for the first time, I was a little disappointed. From what I understand, the rooms are owned by people who let Meridian Plaza rent them out. This place was clean, but very outdated. The bed had two sunken holes in it making it very uncomfortable. I thought the tub was going to fall through when taking a shower and the drain was […] clogged. Overall for the proce we paid, it was alright, but I would not stay here again. Mehr

When we arrived the staff was very nice, but when we checked into our room it was not to good. We were trying to find a different hotel because of just how run down the room was. Of course I have seen worse places, but for the price it wasn't to good. They ended up moving us to the very top floor floor.
