das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage, zur Stadt zu den Geschäften, zum Bahnhof und zum Bus-Station- würde ich jederzeit wieder nehmen. Das Frühstück fand ich nicht so begeisternd- ansonstend entsprach es mE. einem 4Sterne Hotel- von der Höhe des Gebäudes an sich sollte man sich nicht abschrecken lassen- man hat eine tolle Aussicht auch zum Bay.- uns hat […] es in Cardiff sehr gut gefallen. The hotel's amenities were excellent as were the day staff. The total let down off the 2 night stay was a fire alarm on the sunday morning at 3.30am - this was a total mess and the organisation outside was a shambles. They should be ashamed leaving people not knowing what was happening, people with no slippers, freezing cold, no role call or attempt […] at one. Three fire engines arrived. Waited 30 minutes outside before allowing back in with no information about what had happened!! Spoke to the duty manager in the morning, who was helpful. Someone was caught smoking in a room and this was the cause. The hotel seemed more stressed about saving the alcohol in the bar than helping residents outside!! Shutters and locks??? I was told there were five fire marshalls on that evening - one was outside - with a clipboard standing still!!! Glad it wasn't a real fire that's all I can say! So disappointed, spoilt what could have been an excellent trip. I hope the hotel reflect and retrain some staff!! Mehr

Excellent hotel. Only slight drawback was the slowness of the lifts, and one lift was out of order for one day.

quiet, comfortable and conveniently located.

Sitting on the edge of the town centre, it's great for shoppers! The down side is it's next to the railway line. even on the 10th floor, this kept me awake so not for lighter sleepers. Reception was spotless and receptionists helpful and friendly. Room was clean though parts of the carpet and the seat below the TV were particularly grubby. Good size […] bathroom and very clean. We travelled to Cardiff for a competition. As an aside we did well a bronze and two silvers. The hotel room was great the reason for the 4 was because of a faulty tap on the shower, which to be fair could not be remedied at that time of night. But, vivien was very prompt in attending and did offer the use of another room for a hot shower. As the faulty […] tap did allow for a warm shower but not hot as I prefer. This was fixed immediately after breakfast. One other gripe, which is endemic to all Cardiff hotels, is the charge for parking that they levy. By the way if you turn under the railway bridge and take your first left before the lights there is a car park at the end the guy if you ask will only charge you 12 for 24hours not 18 pound at hotel plus we couldn't get a space in hotel. This car park is manned and then licked overnight. Overall, my family enjoyed our stay. Mehr

Nice enough hotel. Nothing special. I'm not sure if all the rooms are the same, but I wouldn't recommend the room I was in for anyone tall. I'm barely average height, but was bent over double trying to reach the sink, and may as well have sat in a hole in the floor, the toilet was so low! Bed was very comfortable, but the square pillows were not. Breakfast […] was distinctly average. Under cooked black pudding and fried eggs. Over cooked bacon. Sausages were cooked well. The graqpefruit juice was unfortunately sweetened...the reason people drink grapefruit juice is because its sharp. Don't add sugar please. Mehr

Stayed for one night and found the service of all the hotel staff to be excellent. The suite was clean and very nicely furnished. The slight complaint was that the coffee machine didn't work, but if I had reported it at the time, it would have been replaced. Breakfast was buffet style with an excellent and varied choice. only negatives were that it […] was quite noisy until about 11 pm with children running in the corridor, and the car park is very tight, particularly if you have a larger car. Fantastic location, ideally suited for shoppers, theatre goers or just day/ night out in Cardiff. Hotel has own parking which was very helpful but also only 2 mins from the train station. Only thing to let it down was the pillows on the bed..... Square cushions are not pillows !!!

Not knowing Cardiff at all well, my friend and I booked two rooms at the hotel as we were going to a concert at the Motor Point Arena and this seemed close from the map. We also thought we would make a weekend of it and do the shops. Sadly the concert was cancelled due to the performer having pneumonia but as the hotel was booked and paid for, we decided […] to still go, and I am so pleased we did. We arrived at the hotel to find John Lewis with the St Davids Centre and all the shops opposite, and the Motor Point Arena next to that - couldnt of got any closer to everything if we had tried. Our check-in was quick and faultless and our rooms immaculate. Have no complaints whatsoever. In the evening we decided to have a leisurely dinner at the hote rather than try some of the eateries close by. The food and service again faultless. |Tried Brecon Gin - wow its lovely! Breakfast the following morning was great - available til a civilised time, and so much choice. Check out was at 12 noon but we were able to keep the car in the carpark until 2pm and so did a little more shopping before we headed home. Cant wait to hear the rescheduled dates for the perforance as I know where we will be staying!! Mehr

The Radisson Blu Hotel cardiff proved to be the perfect central location for revisiting a totally revitalized Cardiff. The welcome from the front desk made our stay feel special. Then the view across Cardiff Bay from our very comfortable room on the 18th floor proved a never ending source of interest. I stayed at the Cardiff Radisson Blu for 1 night on the 12th of July. It was a trip for work. The car park is badly sign posted and it's very small - it's also very expensive, £15.00 for overnight at the time I stayed. There are numerous car parks nearby which are much better value for money - I wish I'd known before hand. I had to wait to check in […] as there were only two staff on the desk a quite a queue of people waiting - not enough staff seems to be a feature of this hotel. When I was eventually checked in I went up to my room on the 4th floor and it was spacious and clean, although some of the furnishings looked a bit tired. There are only 2 lifts at the hotel and a lot of floors - as I was on the 4th floor it was OK to walk, if I'd been on a higher floor I would have spent a lot of time waiting around. The position of the hotel is great - right opposite the St David's centre with all it's shops, bars, restaurants, etc, I could not fault that. When I went to bed that night I was constantly woken up by the sound of doors banging along the corridor - the bedroom doors are so heavy it's virtually impossible to close them quietly - so I had a very disturbed nights sleep. The following morning I got up to use the gym - this was small, windowless, and had totally inadequate air conditioning. The gym equipment was also not great - they certainly hadn't splashed out and brought top quality stuff! The breakfast was fine, it was busy but food was being replenished. I was brought fresh tea upon request, but the espresso / coffee machine was out of order. I had to wait another 15 minutes to check out - just 1 member of staff on the desk at 9am in the morning which seems a bit inadequate to me - so I had planned to complain about the banging doors but I was running late by then so didn't get the chance. All in all a disappointing experience - this hotel has the potential to be very good but is let down by overpriced parking, not enough staff on duty and poor attention to det Mehr

Of the standard one expects from a Radisson Hotel.The immediate area is fine but as the hotel is close to Cardiff Central some of its approaches are a bit seedy.Only downside being woken at 4.45a.m. by a drunk young woman who in time realised it was not her room..Mentioned this on check out and of course the receptionist apologised,it's a sign perhaps […] of the times some people have no pride. our room was lovely, we were on the third floor but the air conditioning was not working at night! i rang reception and they brought up a fan! for a four star hotel i was not impressed

My husband and I stayed at the Radisson Blu with our friends for 2 nights during a trip through Wales. The hotel was very conveniently located to the sights, being about half way between the Castle and the Millenium Wharf. When we arrived we were informed that the hotel parking garage, which charges 15GBP per night, was full and we'd have to park elsewhere. […] We ended up parking two and a half blocks away in an open parking area that was 5GBP per day, saving us money, but annoying us that we had to find a new parking lot, then hoof it back to the hotel. To make up for the inconvenience we were upgraded to a business room, although compared to our friends' room the only difference was that we had an espresso maker, which didn't actually work. However, the fact that they were willing to try to make up for the inconvenience was a nice thought. The room was comfortable and clean with a very modern bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very nice and included sausage, bacon, eggs, breakfast cold cuts, fruit, beans, breads of all types, etc. It wasn't overall exceptionally delicious, but it tasted fine and got us started right for the days of sightseeing. In general, we truely enjoyed our stay at the Radisson Blu and would definitely stay there again. Mehr

Lovely room at the hotel with FAB bathroom..room was very hot as all glass windows and may suggest that sheer curtains be kept closed to keep a bit cooler... Parking was not available which we were not to happy with but in general pleased with location/room and hotel.

I enjoyed my three night stay mostly because of the great location.Despite booking a non-smoking room,the first room I was given reeked of cigarette smoke.I was immediately given a different room upon request,which was fine.None of the windows in my room could open. The Radisson Blu Cardiff may not be the cheapest hotel in the centre of town but for convieneance and quality it has to be the best. It is situated right opposite the new John Lewis's so even in the persistantly pouring rain we managed to get undercover quickly, It's a short walk from the bus and train station and the CIA. Cardiff Bay is walkable but […] if the weathers against you not that expensive for a taxi. Room was very spacious and comfortable and we could not hear the noise from othe rooms. Fantastic value. Comfortable, clean & convenient location for our visit to Cardiff to go to a concert at the CIA which was less than 5 minutes walk away. Also superb location for the main shopping centres. Did not eat in the hotel resteraunt, so cannot comment on the food. Overall a lovely hotel & I will definitely be returning.

Staff were really helpful. Breakfast was faultless (which is a miracle). Room was nice. Lacked bath gel but everything else was just perfect. I stay away quite a lot and it is rare to experience such brilliance in a hotel. Thank you.

Very good management team and presentation, helpful at all times. one promise regarding our request for honeymoon couple package never done. Hotel offers late housekeeping though we left notice for that, but section manager replayed no one there!! The breakfast was included "in room" though service at 1st floor said it is charged for service!!? LAN […] cable there not working!!! Very small trash containers!!!? fridge inside wardrobe gets very hot that it does not work properly so we have to keep the outdoor open?? Take care cause the hot water there gets out at even level tab and burns suddenly??? Mehr

I've never been disappointed by the Radisson Blu Hotels and this was no exception. Excellent service and great facilities are the hallmark of this chain and the Cardiff location is excellent as expected.

We loved our stay at the Raddison Blu. It was so convenient for all the shops especially John Lewis!. We could not have asked for anything better. The hotel was lovely. The staff so helpful. The hotel beautifully clean and very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

I have been visiting/working in Cardiff since 1997 and have stayed in practically all the city areas. The Radisson is a most convenient hotel -- do-able work from the train/bus staion; easy access to St David Cathedral; across the street from the very impressive and new John Lewis Department store; easy walk to many restaurants and the Cardiff Arena. […] It is a bit of a hike to the Bay Area- but taxis are easy to procur and plentiful. All and all an excellent site. NOTE: I did not have a car, so I cannot comment on parking and access from that point of view. Mehr

This hotel is very nice the staff friendly rooms are very nicely laid out, nice bathroom also, my only fault was kept awake by kids above my room till 4.30 in the morning jumping and banging doors, at this point with work the next day i ran reception and the noise did stop, but the next night was peacefull.
