Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa - Süd-Wales

A lovely hotel, the rooms were lovely with fantastic views over the golf course, only a short drive to the train station, with a direct line into Cardiff. Will definitely use this hotel again

lucky we got an upgrade due to the inital room being configured incorrectly, otherwise i wouldnt have been too impressed. very loud if you are on the lower floors with people stomping above you. Good food though.

I booked this hotel via Hotels.com and was quite satisfied with my stay at the rate I paid. I may have different opinion if I had paid rack rate. Our room was adequate for two adults and a teenager but I would have to note that when the sofabed is opened out access to the room was a bit tight! The pool, gym and spa were Ok and during our stay in August […] were only lightly used. Like other reviewer I would note that breakfast is only continential but my family and I found enough choice during our stay. I found all the staff I spoke to very pleasant, helpful and efficient. I'll admit there are a couple places where a lick of paint or woodsatin wouldn't go amiss and when it rains the guttering drips incessantly on the conservatory roof but generally it's a decent hotel just on the outskirts of town and about half an hour from Cardiff. In summary good,but not excellent however I would stay there again if in the area. I can't comment on the golf as I don't play!!!! Mehr

We booked this hotel last minute and were very pleasantly surprised. We booked a week in the junior suite and would recommend doing so. The room was a perfect size and the facilities were brilliant. The staff couldn't have been more helpful if they had tried and were more than happy to help with a great knowledge of the local area. We planned to go […] out for food in the evenings but the price and quality of food in the hotel was too good to miss out on. The golf course was beautifully kept and the spa was beautiful. Cardiff is a short drive from the hotel so location is excellent. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be visiting again shortly for another stay. Mehr

If you want a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings then stay here, wonderful. The only thing is do not eat here, go outside. We had an evening meal off the a la carte. My girlfriend ordered lamb (when in wales) it was bone dry and tough. The potatoes it came with were so hard that you could not cut them with a knife, never mind eat them. My starter […] was the welsh platter, advertised as inc. lava bread none to be seen when it came to the table. My cod was not cooked overall terrible pity because the hotel is good just DO NOT EAT HERE. Mehr

Only stayed one night but wish it was more. The rooms was out standing and the views from our patio doors onto the course were fantastic. Would stay again in an instant.

It's a pretty hotel located on a nice golf course. There was an issue with our booking that took an age to sort out. The room, a twin, was tiny as were the beds. For two grown men it was a tight squeeze. The spa facilities were good but again very cramped. I think it's the smallest sauna i've ever seen. The bar food was decent and provided you took […] the daily offer it was decent value. I wasn't blown away by the hotel especially for the price but it wasn't that bad Mehr

Beautiful hotel in a picturesque location overlooking the town. Excellent all round.

as always an ejoyable experience bathroom needs maintaining

The hotel was in a difficult to find location, with my gps navigating us down a dirt track! When we finally located the hotel, we were welcomed with our room key and no vital information regarding our stay. The 'double' room consisted of two double beds shoved together and a beautiful view of a bush! In the middle of winter, I was shocked to not find […] a duvet on the bed! We were supplied merely with bed sheets. Needless to say it was a VERY cold night. Breakfast was again, a substandard experience with croissants completely raw in the middle! After speaking with the hotel staff about the condition of the 'double' bed, we were told there was nothing they could do about it and nothing they were willing to do about it. On a positive note, they did supply us with lots of fleecy throws for the second night. 7am on a Sunday morning, we were woken up to a test alarm bell!! Not the greatest of wakeup calls! Aside from all this information, the hotel is situated in a beautiful location - in the middle of the welsh countryside, with stunning views from the outside. All in all - this hotel was more 2/3* rather than the boasting 4* it has been assigned! A fairly substandard stay, with much improvement needed to be made. Mehr

We recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of our room. We booked a junior suite and it was spacious, comfortable with great views of the surrounding countryside. Great pool and spa facilities. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Our only complaint was the service we received at breakfast - it was […] appalling. On arrival at the restaurant, we were ignored for about 5 minutes with staff literally passing us by and not even acknowleding our presence. The restaurant was not particularly busy. Eventually a male waiter attended to us, without greeting, and showed us to a table and then wandered off, not explaining that he was going to find us a menu. He did not return for some time. Eventually, when he returned he did not comment and merely placed the menus on the table and left ! A female waitress came over to take our order and only then (after a 10 minute wait) explained that we could help ourselves to juice, toast etc. At some stage a spoon fell on the floor from another table, and the male waiter stepped over it three times when passing ! The breakfast was edible but overall, we left feeling that the breakfast service was probably the worst we have experienced, although the female waitress was friendly. All in all a lovely hotel, great facilities but let down by the poor service by the breakfast staff who require more training and awareness of good customer service. Mehr
