hotel was very nice, elevators a bit out of the way, but other than that very very nice, breakfast yummy, room amazing

Five star hotel for the 99 per cent of us.

I am quite happy with the value for the money. This hotel absolutely exceeded my expectations. It's clean, modern, nicely located, and the staff was courteous and very helpful. I see no reason to stay somewhere else on my next trip to the area!

We stayed overnight in Columbia. The staff is very helpful and nice. Everything is brand new and in very good condition. I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast there but my family did and they all liked it. My kids had waffles. Great stay very close to Gervais St where there are a lot of restaurants to choose from.

Very nice decor, very clean. Up to date, breakfast was ok! Will stay here every time I stay in Columbia! No doubt about it!

We stayed for New Year's Eve in this hotel. It was just 2 blocks from our party place "The Woody" My husband and I enjoyed it. The bed was really comfortable. They had a free breakfast buffet the next morning until 10:30, but we did not get up in time. We loved the modern decor and arrangement of the King suite. A great place to stay. Hotel is conveniently located but the downside is the noise related to the adjacent road. The cars kept us up most of the night and we left without much sleep. The beds are mediocre at best. I would have paid extra $$ to stay at another nearby hotel.

The staff was very helpful. Front desk gave great directions to fun locations to visit in the area. Really liked the layout of the room and the bed was actually comfortable. The only thing I would have preferred would have been a tub instead of just a stand up shower stand.

This hotel was awesome. The room was really clean and beautiful. The decor was very modern. The breakfast was wonderful and we ate by the fire in the cafe/lobby. The hotel staff was very nice. We highly recommend this hotel. The price was really reasonable as well.

This was the first time I have stayed at a SpringHill Suites. It was very clean and nice. I loved the decor and the set up of the bathroom. The beds and sofa were comfy. The breakfast was good also. Finding the hotel and parking was easy. The area was very trendy and fun. Additionally, it was close to the University of South Carolina campus.

This room was amazing..clean, bed was so comfortable, decorated like if I was home and service was great. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

The room was clean however there wasn't any help from the staff when we checked in late at night with a lot of bags. No luggage carts were available and the desk help didn't care to find one, just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry.

Bed hard as a rock. Room facing freeway cars kept me awake!

I am VERY selective in where I stay and was very happy with this hotel. I was very tired upon arriving and the noise from the road kept me up so if you need rest, request a room on the opposite side. Then they put me over the pool which wasn't bad except for a kiddie birthday party where they were in/out so I know they disturbed anyone trying to rest […] midday. But other than those minor things that can easily be changed by your room I say it is worth and I will be returning when in the area. Mehr

My room key became demagnetized so I went to the front desk to get a new one. There was a questionable gentleman in front of me who told the lady at the front desk that he had lost his key. She just asked for his room number and gave him a new key, not questioning his name or asking for his ID. When I stepped up, I handed her my key told her mine was […] demagnetized and I needed to get a new one. She asked for the name on the account and that she needed to see my ID. I asked her why she didn't ask the gentleman in front of me and she said he's a regular. The next morning I asked to speak to the manager who gave me the exact same answer. I told him it's about being consistent and safe and now I no longer feel safe staying there. I will never be staying at this hotel again since they just trust their 'regulars' to tell the truth about what room they are in. Mehr

SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Columbia SC is a beautiful place. The staff is quite professional. We enjoyed out time there. The area is great. I would stay at another of your hotels in the future.

Overall the hotel stay was good but they gave me a room close to the road and I could hear the traffic all night so next stay I will request a room on the other side of the hotel.

I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It was reasonably priced considering it's convenient location to downtown. The entire hotel was very clean. I’ve read several comments about this hotel being pretty new and what’s so nice about that is apparently it was built after smoking in hotels was completely stopped. Many hotels I’ve stayed in still […] have that odor. Not this one. Everything about it was just “clean”. Staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was good and the staff worked hard at keeping the buffet clean and well stocked. Very pleasant experience! Mehr

Hotel was newly renovated, also clean. I would not stay at this hotel again. I could not sleep most of the night, because of the loud noise from traffic most of the night.

Other than the house keeper just walking in the next morning out stay was great.

The hotel stay was great and the room was extremely clean. The only burr in the saddle was that the bartender could not be found when I really needed a drink. HAHAHAHAHA.

The staff at the hotel charged us for the rooms we'd already paid for on hotels.com. They called our room at 1:00am asking for a credit card number which we had already given them twice. The next morning when Hotels.com faxed confirmation of payment the front desk staff never apologized and said they could not refund our money until a manager came on […] duty. Three phones and a call to the national customer service line finally got the manager to speak with me. Again, the error was blamed on us. This is a great hotel however I will never stay here again due to the staff attitude and incompetence. Mehr

We had plenty of room and the space was clean and comfortable. I thought it was a little strange that the bathroom was split up, but I guess it conserves space? We really enjoyed the HUGE flat screen LG TV and free HBO during out stay. Checkin and checkout were beyond fast and easy. I'd definitely recommend this place to a friend.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a recent weekend getaway to Columbia. Our family is planning to move to Columbia in the future, and we wanted to spend some time checking out the area. Pros: -Hotel is ~1yr old, well maintained, modern design/conveniences -Location is very convenient to the Vista (within walking distance) with lots of dining, […] shopping, and nightlife options -The breakfast is included, and included more than the traditional continental breakfast (make your own waffles, sausage patties) Cons: -The pool/exercise room were both very small Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the downtown Columbia area. i travel often in south carolina for business but had never stayed in columbia. i took a shot in the dark and was very happy with the modern suites, free wi-fi, no parking fees, and courteous hotel staff. they have chupa-chups (spanish lollipops) at the check-in counter! the surrounding neighborhood is still undergoing some construction. the city is […] renovating the old warehouses. nice restaurant and wine bar one block away (Gervais & Vine). Our double queen studio suite was quite spacious. The website mentioned microwave, not refrigerator, so was happy to see both in the unit. Was the best hotel sleep night I had in awhile, actually got a little over 8 hours. Convenient location to expressway, restaurants and grovery store, and to our destination. The room set up was not very good. Bath room and shower were in seperate rooms. The doors did not close all the way. We were on the 5th floor and traffic sounded right out side the window.

Great place to stay and breakfast buffet was nice.

We loved this hotel! 4 of us stayed here... We all loved it. The rooms varied slightly. We had to big screen t.v.s in our room, and a huge shoer no tub. The guys had 1 big screen t.v. and a shower bath combo. Toilet was a seperate room with a little sink. Very easily can handle friends or business assoc. no problem. Awesome stay ... my sight was awarded by the decor. I felt like I was in Miami. my smell was awarded by the aroma thoughout the hotel and my suite. the staff was very friendly. I will continue to stay here whenever in need to in Columbia.

Great hotel, great price, highly recommend it!

This hotel is brand new so it was very clean and had all the needed ammenities. The hotel staff was excellent, accomodating, and very helpful. The breakfast, its offerings, and coffee were not appealing or very good. We found ourselves looking for other breakfast options each day.(Even for just coffee) I found it odd that with the huge lobby area and […] lovely common areas that you had to go so far with all your luggage just to get to the elevator. Overall the hotel was just lovely but I probably will spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else Mehr

Carried my daughter there for Grad School registration and apartment hunting. Very clean. Construction around was in progress, but there was NO NOISE. Next door to a Publix and walking distance to several restaurants, bars and a Starbucks.Very new building and we enjoyed the decor a great deal. It was very nice and we would return!

hey this hotel is the best one that i have ever stayed in during my past 6 yrs of travel. I would recommend it to anyone everything is up to date, and the staff as very FRENDLY. I wish i could find another just like it
