Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und man bekommt ein leckeres Frühstück. Die Lage ist gut und ruhig, direkt in der Nähe des Cottage ist ein toller historischer Pub mit leckerem Essen und Bier "The Green Dragon", sehr zu empfehlen. Man kann ab dem Cottage wandern. Stonehenge ist mit dem Auto schnell erreicht und Salisbury liegt direkt nebenan auch sehr schön. Alles in allem ein rundes Gesamtpaket und sehr empfehlenswert.

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 14. Nov. 2012Wir waren 4 Nächte im Argyle Lodge in ein Doppelzimmer mit Bad und sehr zufrieden. Innenstadt und Bahnhof sind zu Fuß leicht zu erreichen. Die Betten waren sehr bequem,das Frühstück war super lecker und alles war sauber. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder da übernachten wenn wir nach Southampton reisen.

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 8. Nov. 2012Das Hotel ist schon etwas älter, hat jedoch das gewisse etwas. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und schön eingerichtet und auch sehr sauber. Zum Duschen musste man allerdings in eine hohe Badewanne steigen. Für mich als kleine Person etwas umständlich. Das Hotel liegt nahe der Kathedrale und der Innenstadt. Ein Parkplatz ist ca. 300 m vom Hotel entfernt und ist schnell zu erreichen, muss jedoch extra bezahlt werden. Das Frühstück umfasst englisches Frühstück, das für jeden Gast frisch zubereitet wird sowie ein Büfett mit Gebäck, Jogurt, Müsli, frischen Früchten, Säften und Heißgetränken.

Sehr gut. Bei drei Tagen hatten wir drei Mal kein heisses / warmes Wasser, da der Boiler (seit zwei Wochen) spuckte!!! In einem solchen Fall erwarte ich vom Personal, dass es automatisch drei oder vier Mal im Tag die Situation überprüft, wenn nicht sofort der Klempner gerufen werden sollte!!Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"An old favorite"
We've known the White Horse since living in Romsey 23 years ago, and have stayed there three times since. It is a comfy old hotel which has been continually upgraded without losing its charm. So much nicer than the usual cookie-cutter modern ones. We ate dinner in the brasserie, and it was excellent and well priced. We have only a few minor gripes. […] Our room, in the Coach House, was long and narrow, so there was only an 18 inch gap between the end of the bed and the wall, making it difficult to get from one end of the room to the other. Also the hairdryer and towel warmer were not working, but were fixed as soon as we reported the problems. Finally, the parking is a bit inconvenient. One has to park in a public, pay-and-display carpark a short walk from the hotel. Fortunately, this inconvenience is mitigated by the fact that the parking is free overnight, and any ticket bought in the evening is timed starting from 8:30 the following morning. "lovely hotel"
We stayed here overnight for a family get together. Romsey is a small town and the hotel is well located. Disapointed there is not a car park so we had to be up and dressed before 8.30am next day to put a ticket on our car parked in the local car park. Due to this we didnt stay at the hotel for breakfast as we were dressed it seemed pointless to go […] back to the hotel and a holiday sleep in was out of the question. The hotel would benefit by providing a bar snack other to their dinner restaurant meal Because we had high tea we only needed a snack perhaps a salad would be surfice. A charming hotel in a charming village. They have maintained much of the original structure, the bar and lounge are cozy and friendly. A very good town centre Hotel where Old World charm successfully mixes with contemporary. Our room had wooden beams and sloping floor with a large modern bathroom. We dined in the modern well decorated restaurant. The food and service were very good. Prices towards high but reasonable with regard to quality. We did not take breakfast at £14. I was really impressed with the age, decor and ambience, comfort and amenities of the hotel. Staff were unfailingly obliging. The food was delicious and nicely presented and tray charges are very reasonable. The location was pleasant, right in the market square and close to an ancient abbey. The restaurant is glam and the food delicious. Staff in the restaurant are very informed and make you feel special. Menu comprised of nice selection of seafood and grills with nice gourmet touches. Or traditional English tea if you like. The rooms in the old part of the hotel are nice and quirky. Ours had a staircase down to a large shower room. The […] front desk staff could have been a little more informed about excursions and amenities. Hotel cigar bar ran out of cigars but still have the menus for them out which made my boyfriend want one to his disappointment, but all round very happy. p.s. Our two night stay was comfortable and pleasant. The standard double room was a reasonable size with a large shower. The public rooms were attractive and welcoming and the continental breakfast is good quality and value. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful.
