Die Zimmervermietung einfachster Art liegt in einer eher wenig gepflegt wirkenden Gegend zwischen der Innenstadt und dem Monumenthügel, in zweiter Reihe hinter einem wohl schon länger geschlossenen weiteren Etablissement. Die ganze Anlage wirkte, obwohl (nach der Zahl der geparkten Autos zu schließen) zwar einigermaßen belegt, dennoch irgendwie "verlassen". […] Außer dem Rezeptionisten war kein weiteres Personal auszumachen. Sensible Gemüter kann angesichts der Lage, gräulichen Farbgebung, Athmosphäre in den Fluren und undefinierbaren Gerüchen schon mal ein mulmiges Gefühl beschleichen. Wir waren froh, als die Nacht vorbei war. Zu ähnlichen Preisen haben wir auf unserer Rundfahrt durch New England wesentlich einladender wirkende Inn-Ketten besucht. Robustere Naturen als wir es sind, hätte das alles wohl nicht gestört, "harte" Gründe für eine Reklamation gab es für uns keine. Mehr

very comfortable stay. liked my room a lot. the gardens were a bit disappointing. nothing like in the pix. the pool and hot spa were closed due to maintenance.

Although the wifi was down, everything else was fine -- clean, spacious, friendly staff. No frills but no frights. Good value choice. Would stay again for my purpose - getting close to my bike race the next day.

While the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, that was about it. There was a tiny TV in the room, no iron, which is important, and coffee was not served until 7:00 am. The people at the front desk were nice, however, I was a little concerned that they had a meter running in regards to the phones in the room. I have not seen this in years in […] my travels. Lucky for me, I had a cell phone. There was no posting about the phone being extra and no mention of this at the front desk at check in. If I had used the phone unknowingly, I would have been upset. For a hotel that allows dogs, this exceeded my expectations. This may not be for the snob set who brings their chihuauha to the penthouse at the Loew's in Philly, but perfect for the vacationer who wants a clean, comfortable, pet friendly hotel that is in the heart of Bennington. It is a great motel away from the road and road noise, It is very close to the Bennington Museum, Hemmings Motor News {free car museum and souvenir store}, the Bennnington Battle Monument, site of /Catamount Tavern {where Green Mountain Bosys met} and the historic Old Bennington Cemetery where Robert Frost is buried. They have 24 hour desk, free working […] internet. It is near junction of Vermont /Routes 7 & 9. Excellent old time Blue Benn Diner is within one mile. Vermont Veteran's Home is across from Blue Benn on Route 7 north. It was a verycomfortabel and laid back motel. Mehr

The hotel was a little hard to find (even with GPS). It was clean, and comfortable. The staff seemed nice. The area was so so for place around to eat. For a one night stay, I would use it again.

The hotel was hidden behind the library and hard to find at night. There was no elevator in our building. The place needs a facelift inside. It was clean enough but very outdated. The lighting in the bathroom was horrible. Not good for putting on makeup or shaving. Two little restaurants close by but when we asked foa breakfast spot were told "The Blue […] Ben" which was much further away than the other two. It was an OK place to stay. Mehr

The hotel is set back from the main street and a little difficult to find at first. However, the room was spacious and quiet, and the sauna and jacuzzi were clean. The room numbers are a bit confusing as the second floor was numbered in the 100's just like the first floor. The TV was small with basic channels.

We were quite pleased with the hotel. They treated us very well and most importantly they accepted our dog and it is a good facility for dogs with large lawns and plenty of places to walk.

A quiet hotel on lovely grounds in the middle of Bennington. Rooms are large, and well fitted out.

The hotel is nicely set back from the road, but is convienetly located in the center of town. The landscaping and pool area are beautifully maintained. While the outdoor pool claims to be heated, at the time of our visit in september on a wed, it was not. The juccuzi tub was a little dated and was a shower jaccuzi combo, but worked just fine.

Large, quiet room with two double beds on the second floor facing the pool. Rooms were clean, staff was pleasant. Only complaint is that there was no place to get breakfast; only coffee and tea in the office.

The place was very nice for this sort of small town hotel. We were upgraded as we arrived to a room that was clean and comfortable and had a patio with view of the cute pool with plantings and privacy. We didn't actually use the pool, but it had nice atmosphere. This room on the ground level had a very slight musty odor to it, but was no big deal. At […] midnight a group of loud girls came home to the room next door. You could hear every word and noise through the connecting door. I'm not sure if all rooms have those connecting doors, but this one did. The noise was definetely just coming through the door and not the walls. the staff was happy to move us to another room (I guess all they can do in these situations- not really their fault ignorant people were next door to us). the new room was on the 2nd floor, and very nice (another free upgrade) No musty smell, higher ceilings, nice decor. It had a very nice mattress (I think better than the one downstairs), sauna in the bath, and very nice balcony that looked over the pool. This one was very quiet, and we slept very well. I like the way the balconies are set up- sort of stagered, so they are private. I would go back again. We were up for a brewery tour in Burlington, and stopped off here for one night. - beer, pottery, museum, a nice restaurant or two. It is a cute town for one night/day. I'm glad we did not stay longer, as we would have been bored in this small little town. Mehr

Arriving at night is difficult as the hotel grounds are barely lit and the hotel is behind some other vacant buildings. There is no sign indicating the direction to the back of the lot. It is also difficult to navigate to your room over pathways that are difficult to traverse. The rooms were extremely dated but generous in size. Our room had an adjacent […] room with a murphy bed that was great to set luggage, but when I shut the door to save A/C, it locked. I had to leave my kids alone to get the key in order to get our luggage out the room because there was only one person working. Not something I was excited about. Also, the shower had nearly zero water pressure. The television had limited channel access, nothing for kids at all. I feel like the hotel was expensive for what you got. I would not return Mehr

If you can get past the cat spray odor upon entering hallway, I guess you could enjoy. The word gardens did not apply unless they were buried under the weeds. Old carpet, very run down.

I had planned this trip for a romantic getaway with my wife. I carefully reviewed ratings and looked at the pictures in advance. While the exterior shots were accurate, the interior looked nothing at all like what was advertised. The furnishings looked old and run down. The TV looked like it was from the 1980s at least and the wall decor was old-fashioned […] at best. While I really enjoyed Bennington and the Berkshires, I would have appreciated pictures that accurately depicted the room I was staying in. The unmet expectation may have made this review a bit harsher than it ought to have been. Regarding service, I did call the front desk once about local points of interest and they were unable to answer or look it up for me. Regarding comfort, the bed was allright but had only a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet on it. Mehr

I thought every room had a patio and a direct door to the pool. The room that was book for us through this service had neither. We asked to upgrade and it was a huge hassell for us and the owner involving having to call this service and speak at length with a customer svc rep. The room had a very bad smell, like mold. Someone had sprayed some type of air freshener but that just added to the unpleasant smell. The room was quite large and the bathroom was clean. Maybe a wet carpet that wasn't properly cared for? I would not stay there again~

Went here for a motorcycle event that is centered around the Paradise Inn in June. It's all about location, being in Bennington and across the street from Hemmings Motor News.

The pool was scenic and relaxing and beautifully landscaped. Complimentary coffee was of good quality. View from room window was of the pool and vegetation and most pleasant. Value of room in terms of accommodations and rate was attractive and fair.

Pictures online are much more appealing than when you get there. Staff was very nice first night there. Second day was okay. Third day--had to ask to get the room serviced at 4 o'clock in the afternoon---had to request a towel at 11:30 that night. It was convenient in that it was in the heart of downtown Bennington. Bed sheets were ill fitted however and had the feel of the average motel room. Served it's purpose as a place to sleep, but overall, not impressive or noteworthy.

When we drove by the first time it was after dark and all we saw was an old boarded up hotel with an old very weather beaten sign that said the Paradise Inn. My feeling was Bates Motel. However, we turn in. When we drove past the empty building we noticed a building that looked like a two story dormatory, located back behind the closed structure that […] you see from the road. We drove back there and went in. It looked like it was 35 to 50 years old and had not changed since it opened. Our room was on the first floor. Very quiet. Musty smell. Old furniture. Worn carpeting. Very dated. However it was a comfortable bed and everything in the room did work (TV, Bathroom, Lights), other than the wireless connectivity. Paid 75 for the night - so I guess you get what you pay for. The bed was very comfortable so I cannot complain. Mehr

Arrangement of rooms in deluxe Junior Suite was unsatisfactory. Person staying in sitting room with murphy bed had to walk through other bedroom to get to bathroom. Heaters in both rooms were extremely noisy when running.

Our 2 day stay in Paridise was exactly that. Paridise compared to the other overpriced dumps in the area. Beware of the 100$ motor lodges looking quaint and doable for one night. We've been visiting the area alot and stayed at 4 moter lodges in the IMMEDIATE AREA, and i can honestly say i would have rather used the money to buy a tent and a camp site […] for the night. Or slept in my car...LOL. Most had old nasty bedding and bed bugs which seems to be common up there. Paridise was nothing above average anywhere else in the normal hotel world but it sure is clean and top notch for the area. The only thing that was dissapointing was the coffee station in the morning. Would be nice if it had at least decaf coffee or a flavord choice other than just regular. Would recommend this hotel for parents of Southern Vermont College students. My son goes there, its 1 mile away and clean. Mehr

We were surprised ti find that you had to walk so far to get into the room. The sliding glass door was not a convenient place to get to, to move in from the parking lot. Needed to ask for another towel... there weren't TWO complete sets of towels. We also realized that it was a too long drive, back and forth, because we spent most of our time in the […] Manchester area. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom really great! The room itself, was large and comfortable. Loved having a table and chairs to play Scrabble! Having The Bean on the property was heaven. All was excellent there. Mehr

The Paradise Inn is well situated as regards walking distance to the centre of Bennington, a very nice Vermont town, but the motel itself was situated behind another motel that was closed and it in fact appeared to be barely open itself (we didn't think we'd come to the right place at first). Once we'd got to reception and then to our room, things […] were better, but the room itself was rather dark and basic, with no coffee making facilities. There was no complimentary breakfast either, so the price wasn't particularly good value for money. However, within Bennington itself, there are good eating places... including "Blue Benn", the best Retro (@1930's?) diner you could ever experience, with fantastic menu choices. Overall, it was fair because of its good location, but we'd rather choose another place in town if we ever went back. Mehr

Once you're there everything's fine but . . . the signing on the road is very hard to see, the long approach is completely confusing and even the office is hard to spot. Once you've got that figured out and are in your room things are excellent. Only coffee at the office in the morning BUT a hundred yards away is a little breakfast and lunch building […] that is unusually good - their own home roasted coffee and excellent food. Mehr
