Pretty good hotel for our spring break stay. We wanted to stay in a family friendly hotel with basic needs in the room like microwave and refrigerator. The fridge did not work initially but then it started working later in the night. Breakfast was ok and the service were overall satisfactory. The hotel is new. Breakfast better than usual free breakfasts. Good pool, workout room. No complaints. The room was quite large--great for two people. Its not near anything of note but close to freeways to get around.

The Staff was helpful and pleasant, the room was nice and clean, can't beat it for the price.

Staff was very nice,clean rooms and several eat's around. I Would and did stay again NEG Breakfast ran out before 10,they did not try replacing just cleaning up.

The rooms were very spacious. clean and comfortable. The nightly rate was exceptional for the size and quality of the room. However, the check-in process was very slow due to a slow computer system.

Very nice room, breakfast was a cut about the usual semi hot continental, decor was cool in a strange aquarium motif that might have been weird but worked. Front staff was very helpful. Coffee was the terrible but the Starbucks across the street alleviated that pain.

I had to stay in Norfolk for a business trip, and I have already decided that if I have to go back, I will never stay anywhere else but here! The hotel staff was courteous, accommodating, and went above and beyond in every way to make my stay pleasant and my travels convenient. I can't say enough good things about this place.

This hotel was one of the best that we have stayed in. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful when asked about surrounding dinning. There was a lady that approached us in the parking lot asking for money ( she used the same story I have heard at least two other times) and I told her to hit the road. After confirming prior to booking with hotel prior to stay on same day that courtesy bus would pick up at ORF for a midnight flight arrival was told 24 hr service just call hotel reception upon arrival at ORF airport and bus will collect. Called twice waited 30 mins told bus on way - no bus, then told get a cab. Arrived hotel 1a told room not ready. […] Finally got to room. Bed very hard. Next morning found charge for the nights stay from the hotel on my credit card. Spent time at reception to sort it it but told it would take a couple of hours and they would leave message on my voicemail to confirm charge reversed. Receptionist did apologize. All in all a stressful stay for a short night at the hotel. Mehr

This hotel was great. We stayed here for leasure to enjoy the VA beach area. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool, hot tub and gym was more than adequate. The breakfast was good too. The room was plenty big enough for 3 adults and 1 child. We liked that fact there was a door dividing the 2 rooms, giving the third adult their […] privacy with a pull out sofa and his own tv. Another tv was in the bedroom area. We have stayed in many hotels and resorts over the years and tend to set our expectations low because most over promise and under deliver. However, the Holiday Inn Express in VA Beach was beyond our expectations. Very spacious room. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent. We'll return. The rooms are good and clean, the staffs are brilliant. The parking was great and it has a great view.in all it is a good hotel and we have no regret.

Was surprised at the size of room.. a small but nice lounge area with tv, mini fridge and safe in room. I like the sliding door on shower and the amount of lights in bedroom. Front desk was friendly and helpful.. Breakfast was a good variety with good heathy options. Gym was small but suficient.. no cleaning products for equipment, though.

The hotel was clean and quiet. Its across the street from a shopping area that was very nice. Only ten minutes from Virginia Beach, straight shot there. The Hotel has no breakfast buffet as stated on the website only continental breakfast. Other than that my family enjoyed there stay.

Loved that fact that we could put the kids to bed, shut the door to the bedroom, and watch television without disturbing them. Would recommend highly.

Our first priority was convenience to the Norfolk Airport. It was great, especially since the hotel staff made their shuttle service so convenient. The staff were so pleasant and accommodating! We were very pleased with our stay.

The hotel was very nice and clean, but the walls are very thin. One of the guest had an issue, because they were told no guest are allowed after 11:00 p.m. We really enjoyed our stay. I didn't know what to expect, because in previous experience the hotels do not always look like they are presented in the photos. The hotel looks exactly like the pictures. […] The rates weren't bad either. The breakfast is pretty decent not just waffles and cereal. I would go to this hotel again and definitely will be using hotel.com to book my hotels. Mehr

Everything was great about this hotel. The beds were extra comfy and it was always quiet, and the employee at the breakfast area was very helpful. The only problem I had was that the indoor pool was uncomfortably cold and kind of dirty, other than that everything was great. I would definitly stay at this hotel again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Express-Norfolk Military Highway. I was in the area visiting an ill relative who was hospitalized in a nearby hospital. I was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and professional. The decor was updated and the suite was clean.

Room was acceptionally clean with very moden decor. It was what any traveler looking for comfort and cleanliness would want.

This hotel is so under-rated according to other reviews. I am extremely picky when it comes to hotels, it has to be an un-stinky room and everything has to function and at least look clean before I take my shoes off and relax. This was our 2nd stay and it was just as great as the first time. It's located right off the highway and around many restaurants, […] Target, and an NFCU. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. The lobby is nicely decorated, clean and large. We had the same type of room as our first stay. The room didn't have any bad odor (like most other hotels) and it had a King size bed in a separate room from the kitchenette and living area. The bedding is soft, comfy and clean-great pillows! There is also a flat screen in the bedroom as well as in the living area. The couch folds out into a sleeper and the modern kitchenette has a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and utensils. The bathroom is spacious and most importantly - CLEAN! A couple of perks- indoor pool, hot tub and gym, free wi-fi and free continental breakfast with eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, pastries and juice! I feel 100% comfortable sleeping there and I will be back. Honestly a great deal for quite a low fee, you'd probably pay at least $50-$100 more at other places, enjoy! Mehr
