unsere zimmer waren geräumig und relativ sauber. warmes wasser im bad war glückssache. service findet nur nach aufforderung statt. als preisgünstige unterkunft in mumbai aber doch zu empfehlen. bei bedarf gibt es immerhin täglich frische handtücher und die zimmer werden gereinigt. wir werden unseren nächsten aufenthalt in mumbai wieder dort verbringen. das […] personal ist sehr freundlich und bei entsprechendem tip auch hilfsbereit. Für ein Standart DZ passt das Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Obwohl man uns beim eincheken sagte das unser gebuchtes standart DZ noch nicht zur verfügung steht und wir die erste Nacht in einem deluxe Zimmer verbringen müssten und am zweiten Tag in das standart wechseln müssen. Haben wir dann aber nach einer kurzen diskussion unser normales Zimmer für die […] beiden Nächte bekommen - meiner Meinung ein Versuch uns etwas mehr geld abzunehmen. We specifically requested a twin/two single beds. There was no correspondence from them to state that wasn't possible. we arrived to a double bed. They did provide an extra single mattress which was expected for us to sleep on the floor.After seeing rats run up the piping at the front of our hotel neither of us was game to sleep on the floor. A decent hotel in a central location. Rooms are clean and tidy though they do not really offer anything more. Managerstaff/s behind the desk is a bit lacy, almost ignorant, although if you snap up they're attention you will eventually get the things you are after. The Royal Castle lacks charm, but it is clean and the staff is very nice and helpful. It is rather far from the tourist areas, but I considered that a blessing, really. Taxis are cheap and easy to find in Mumbai, and in this neighborhood nobody pesters you to buy things. I'd stay there again!

Shabby reception, Don't care attitude and they really do not care. I was made to wait next to the kitchen and not even at the reception, given a shabby room, denied a cleaner room, made to walk around for over an hour for an internet center when there was one just a few feet away. This hotel doesn't cost much to stay at. But I guess, you get what you pay for.. The hotel resides on a busy street so beware of honking cars. Hotel Royal Castle is a budget accomodation in Mumbai. For Indian standards it is clean including the sheets. The sanitary equipment is of course very basic but clean. Try to get a room out to the back as the rooms near the reception and to the front road are really noisy. The hotel is not very far away from the train station Grant Rd. maybe the room was a bit small and there were other bigger rooms available so I got to move to somewhere better. Maybe a dining room would be a good idea but otherwise a good place of the value for money type.

pay a bit more and find a 4 stars

First of all, this is a 2 star hotel, so do not expect the Hilton quality. But as a 2 star hotel, it is really good: clean, tidy, normal size rooms. The price is indeed a little high if you compare it with other cities, but Mumbai is very expensive - so if you compare the price with other hotels in the city, you will realise it is OK. I will definitely recommend this hotel to everybody especially to those going for U.S.visas..Intially we were a little apprehensive after seeing the external appearance of the building ,but,were pleasantly surprised by the interior. The rooms are extremely clean and pleasantly spacious .The bathroom is also very clean and has hot water at all the times […] when really required .We were very surprised when we got our required cup of morning tea at 5.30 a.m. within 5 min of ordering it.To sum it up a hotel worth staying in .Gives you real value for money. OVERALL SATISFACTION AND COMFORT VERY GOOD. WAITERS EXTREMELY POLITE AND COURTEOUS.FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. OUTSIDE APPEARANCE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO MODERN STANDARDS. THIS WILL REALLY ENHANCE THE VALUE OF THIS HOTEL.CLOSE TO FAIR SHOPPING AREA.TAXIS WERE EASILY AVAILABLE OUTSIDE THE HOTEL.THIS WAS PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR OUR PARTICULAR NEEDS

i would stay in this hotel again. the staff is very very helpful they help with the cab, and were to go and how to get around. spot to stay

Not the best location. Bedroom was clean and simple. Have clean towels every day. You can probably find something better and cheaper!

It was worderful Experience. All the hotel staff was very decent and helpful. Thanks to Raj as well. Room was too good. The only thing which mabe be felt bad was ,while booking i saw in the photos that we'll be gettting a Bath tub, but for a standard room it was not there. Most taxi and rickshaw drivers were able to find it easily. It's located in a popular Hotel area, near the train station. The hotel was clean with working AC, warm water (you have to let it run for a while though), and good, honest service. Trist och tråkigt hotell i stökigt kvarter, långt från Colaba där det mesta händer. Rummet var dock rent och personalen vänlig. Rummet saknade fönster, hade bara någon slags ventiler som släppte in alla ljud utifrån. Framför allt saknades all charm och alla trivselfaktorer. Jag skulle aldrig välja det här hotellet igen.

Pas trop loin de Colaba et de la CST, Quartier pas terrible, tres bruyant et un peu glauque, on peut facilement trouver beaucoup mieux et moins cher, chambre exigue pas de fenetre sur l'exterieur
