Das Hotel selbst entspricht einem guten Standard für New Yorker Verhältnisse. Es liegt direkt am Times Square und ist somit zentral zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Ab und an war etwas wenig Druck auf der Leitung und das Wasser war zum Teil nur lauwarm, dies ist jedoch verschmerzbar, da es nicht kalt war, sondern lauwarm. Einziges Manko: Kofferaufbewahrung nach Check-Out mit 5,- USD pro Schließfach sehr teuer.

Das frühstück war überdurchschnittlich gut für USA-Verhältnisse. Die Zimmer waren zwar nicht sonderlich groß aber trotz allem war alles vorhanden was man braucht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Nähe zu gleich zwei verschiedenen U-Bahn Stationen ist wirklich top. Vom Hotel aus ist man innerhalb von 10 Minuten am Timesqaure.

Sehr angenehm, modern, gute Lage, freundlich. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, die Dusche und Toilette nur durch eine Glasschiebetür und Vorhang vom Rest des Zimmers abgetrennt. Ich hatte mit einem Freund zusammen ein Zimmer mit zwei getrennten Betten. Man sollte sich schon sehr gut kennen, wenn man beim Verrichten seines Geschäfts jedes Geräusch aus der Toilette im Zimmer mithört. Sehr gut war das superschnelle Internet ohne langes Codes und langem Einwählverfahren. Die Rezeption sehr freundlich, aber in diesem Hotel wird eine gewisse Selbstständigkeit des Reisenden erwartet.

Das Hotel ist leider lange nicht so schön wie es auf den Bildern aussieht. Der Blick auf das Wasse ist zwar traumhaft, aber die umgebenden Häuser sehr hässlich. Ale wir ankamen, hieß es kategorisch, dass Checkin erst um 15 Uhr ist. Dann bekamen wir unser Zimmer, dass so schmutzig war, dass wir es nicht beziehen konnten. "Fantastic"
Really enjoyed my stay here. Celebrated my 31st birthday and spent the night. Asked for a free upgrade since the hotel was not overcrowded and they have us a suite! Dinner service was the only complaint. They had a wedding going on and it seemed to be a bit overwhelming for them to push out food for the wedding and dining room at the same time. And […] drinks took a while to come out. But management but us a round of drinks after we brought it to their attention. You must try their brunch. It was fantastic. "BROKEN ELEVATOR"

Having grown up just minutes from Long Beach, bringing my husband "home" for the holidays was a no-brainer to stay at the Allegria, even through the devastation of Hurricane Sandy that swept through just 2 months before our stay. Allegria is a beautiful addition to the city of Long Beach, and a definite "must stay" when wanting to be by the beach in […] an amazing hotel. Also easily accessible from NYC. The only reason I rated less than perfect on hotel service was because when I arrived at the hotel at 11:00 at night trying to carry a backpack and 2 suitcases, I struggled to the elevator passing by 2 male staff members who watched me drop the luggage and almost fall, without offering to help. Other than that, the hotel is gorgeous, and even though the hurricane has made it's mark on the boardwalk and town, the beauty and serenity of the Allegria makes it still the best place to be. Wonderful response to Sandy, making hotel available to FEMA and other relief workers. Staff has an incredible upbeat attitude and full attention to making hotel and the neighborhood get back to normal after horific storm damage to boardwalk and homes in the neighborhood. The Allegria is a beautiful hotel in a great location. For me staying there on a layover I was grateful for a place to stay in a very booked up New York. Problems i had in my room were that the TV didn't work and the curtains were more dirty than should be. Reservations were made prior to hurricane. Hotel lost lobby & uses lounge area for desk. Other minor inconveniences. Basic room is VERY small. There was no cot available upon request & we were upgraded to mini-suite the second night which was more comfortable. "Right on the beach, contemporary styling."
First impression? Knockout! A contemporary style hotel immaculately presented and right on the beach. The styling is exceptional and everything in the room worked without fault - a feat seemingly unattainable in other establishments. The downsides are that the very stylish - stunning actually - restaurant was marked down by very slow and inattentive […] service despite being less than half full on a Friday evening. The room styling left us using the floor for toiletries as the bathroom had no shelf space or even area around the basin to place things. A very pricey hotel and very nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. However, the shower has NO shower pressure and I had to rinse my hair off in the sink. Second, I ordered breakfast to be delivered (yogurt with berries, baked goods, which specified 2 things would be included, and a small pot of coffee. For $36, I received a lump of yogurt with […] a sparse amount of sliced strawberrries and 2 slices of white bread, no butter, no jelly, no freshly baked goods. "Overpriced, poor quality, pretentious."
This is literally the only hotel in the area of the beach, so they solely rely on supply and demand. This outrageously priced hotel is definitely not worth it. Look for condo rentals in the area instead is my recommendation. The hotel is pretentious and every time we came in the lobby, the "hotel bouncer" would pounce on us and ask us if "he could help […] us". Yes, dude, I've been here for 3 nights, relax!! The rooms are extremely thin walled, where you can hear people showering as you walk down the hall. I know it sounds petty, but it's pretty annoying how nonfunctional the setup of the rooms are too. There's one hook in the bathroom (when you're staying at the beach, you can bet you'll want multiple hooks for your bathing suit, towels, etc), there a small drawer set in the bottom of the closet which is generally not that useful and it also prevents your clothes from hanging full length in the closet. The shower is a walkin "rainfall" type with no door/curtain on 1/2 the wall, so it's COLD in there! The beach is fine, although it's next to the section you can swim in, not directly. There's no "beach service" (aka food, drink service), which I would have expected in such a high end hotel - if they claim there is, don't believe them (we were there for 3 days, and no one came by). The front desk staff is also pretty clueless. I stood there twice for 10 minutes before someone finally asked if I was waiting to speak to them - no, I just like staring at you, come on! "Nice for a fancy relaxing getaway"
The Allegria lived up to its luxury billing for the most part, though for the money, I expected every detail to be perfect and there were a few minor glitches. For example, room keys needed reprogramming, room phone didn't work, no note paper in the note paper box, bottled water wasn't replenished. The staff were all friendly and eager to please but a few of them needed a bit more training in their jobs and/or familiarity with hotel procedure. Very uncomfortable bathroom fixtures and room lighting systems. When someone gets up at 2:00 am to go to the bathroom and turns the light on in the bath the whole bedroom is lite up via the glass sliding door on the bath. "waste of money"
the hotel itself is modern, clean and nice. My husband and I chose it because it was on the beach and we saw those beautiful pictures of the rooftop pool as well as the clean rooms. The pool is absolutetely tiny and totally deceiving when viewed online.Our rooms ac was broken and we called no less then 5 times to have it fixed. the first time the mechanic […] was up there they told us it was fixed when it wasn't. the second time the mechanic was there he told us there was nothing he could do and other guests had complained about this room before,.. the hotel was full so they couldnt switch our rooms. we spent three very uncomfortable nights in a humid sticky room. our last day there we requested late checkout since we had gotten no sleep the night before due to the broken ac, but we were told someone was waiting for our room and if we didnt leave right away wed be charged an extra day. 2 bouncer like guards came to escort us out of our room, even after having explained we had spent the night in a 77 degree room. had the ac worked and the hotel staff been honest and accommodating it mighve been an ok stay. but it wasn't. We live downtown NYC and choose Allegria as our best staycation. We used to go to Hamptons and Sag Harbor. This was a great place to stay -- with or without kids. Rooftop pool was great addition to walk out access to beach with complimentary reclining lounge chairs placed wherever you want on the beach by hotel beach staff. Staff (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant service) need training on client service. Only staff which was helpful were the beach chair and pool service. I had numerous complaints. This was a prime location which can't be faulted. Our room was Ocean facing and right over the boardwalk. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely for 3 adults sharing, but the trip was marred by the lack of room service which I had to call for both days. The room wasn't serviced until the evening! There were some problems with one of the showers […] which made it unusable and although we were promised someone to fix it and sort out the water all over the floor, help never arrived. On our first day in the room, it appeared that the floor had not been cleaned, we didn't complain thinking that it would be resolved the next day, however the stain which looked like dried blood was still on the lounge floor when we left three days later. I complained about room service again the last evening when we arrived back at the room at 6.30pm to shower and found it had not been serviced again - no clean towels etc. I was made to feel as though because they were busy this was the norm! "Allegria is a solid getaway for NYC folks"
My husband and I really enjoy splurging for a weekend at the Allegria. Even though it's only an hour away, it feels much further. Being able to spend 2-3 days on Long Beach, without having to lug beach supplies (cooler, chairs, blankets) from home, on the train, is a relaxing luxury for us city folk. Clean, snd a great location. The rooms are not worth that they are charging. For the price, I will stay at the four seasons where I pay a price and the rooms reflect that.
