Element by Westin Arundel Mills - Hanover

I loved my sty. Surprised my babe for his borthday & the studio apt was right on point. The hotel staff was great. I love that the hotel is secluded off the main road, but still very convenient to the mall, restaurants, grocery store, etc. Will for sure visit this hotel again. I give this two thumbs up.

Room was nice. Beds were comfortable. Swimming area is small. Need a wirl pool, but kids had fun at pool. Nice hotel. Would stay again for the same price.

We stayed here for a nice relaxing weekend. From the full kitchen to the king size bed it was like staying in an apartment. Everything was excellent, event the complementary breakfast. Food was very very good, why go pay for breakfast when you have a wonderful one for free!

I truyly enjoyed my stay at the Element by Westin in Arundel Mills. The entire staff was very friendly. The Studio King with full kitchen was spacious. I loved the modern design of the room and hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was equipped with a dual shower head. It felt like I was in a Spa. I also enjoyed the complimentary hot buffet […] breakfast. I would highly recommend the Hotel and would stay here again next time I'm in the area. Mehr

The front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was amazing! We had a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, spa bathroom, separate bedroom with a heavenly comfort bed and room darkening blinds. I slept so well I missed the free breakfast. Oh well...the hotel is close to Starbucks and many restaurants. Close to the mall and movies […] too. Would stay again and again. Mehr

The problems we had with our stay were what would be considered little things. In a service industry such as a hotel, it's the little things that make or break the stay. We made our reservation for a king bed room and were given one with 2 double beds. They were so close to the wall that you couldn't hardly walk on that side of the bed. There was no […] bar soap for the sink in the bathroom and only one washcloth. We called the desk numerous times and the line was busy. We went to the front desk (10:30pm) and found the receptionist "on the phone with my Mom". Waited for almost another hour and no one came with either item. There was no "do not disturb" sign to put on the door and we didn't want to be woke up at that late hour should someone bring the items, so we made our own sign. For the coffeemaker, there was no creamer or sugar, and only 1 regular coffee and one decaf available. Once again, all attempts to call the desk resulted in a busy signal. In the bathroom, the glass shower stall wall was very loose and moved back and forth when opening and shutting the shower door. We did share some of these concerns at checkout, and the receptionist apologized and indicated someone would call us within 48 hours. So far, no call a week later. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the shower very enjoyable with the big shower head. We will likely stick with the Hilton line of hotels in the future. While these rates were better, the frustrations we experienced also have value to us. Mehr

Had a tournament the next day this hotel was friendly clean and fun!! Personell were very friendly Happy we choose here.

Really great home away from home for us, our 2 small kids and our dog. 2 complaints are I wish the dinner was served every night and there was a yucky blood stain on my mattress. Sheets were all clean though! But still kinda grossed me out.

I would recommend this hotel .it was an overall pleasant experience

Very clean, elegantly designed hotel with a professional appearance. You will get your money's worth.

It's been a while since I've had this much comfort for such a reasonable price. The location is prime to great restaurants, shopping mall & airport. The breakfast was a wonderful sendoff to a wonderful stay. Our room had all the comforts of home including a full kitchen which makes it convenient to prepare a meal in with family instead of going out […] all the time. Very family oriented, warm atmosphere and great view of the surrounding area. I without a doubt would recommend the Element to others and look forward to staying here again. Mehr

I LOVED the Element!

Everything was PERFECT! The whole feeling of clean and the "smell of fresh air" when you walked into the lobby was just what we needed after a long drive from Michigan! My son who served in Afghanistan, is now stationed at Fort Meade and we were only 3 miles from where he, my daughterinlaw & granddaughter live; everything was soooo convenient and right […] at your doorstep! The front desk personnel bent over backwards to make sure we had a perfect stay! I have to say the bartenders were also just awesome, making us very comfortable and serving us their new concoctions! We highly recommend this hotel to everyone and definitely will be staying here next time we visit the Kids! Mehr

Great place, nice surroundings. Large mall really close by. Pool area was cool and water to cool to use. Felt like on display due to all glass surrounding and bar next to it looking in.

Thye Hotel is neat and modern. The two complaints I had was the bed was too soft and the outside lights made it too light in your room. This was corrected the second night. The food was fantastic. I would consider staying there again.

In reading the negative comment from others, I was extremely skeptical of booking here. However my experience was first rate. The rooms are like a small apartment. Staff was great, shuttle service to and from nearby Mall / Movie/ Etc. My room was cleaned every day. Heavenly bed... say no more. Hot water in the shower. Don’t be misled by the naysaye […] rs. The Element was the closest hotel to Annapolis we could find. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very comfortable, particularly the bed. The only negative comment I would make is that the kitchen really struggled to provide breakfast for the number of guest staying at the hotel - there was a fair amount of waiting for hot eggs, […] bacon, etc. Mehr

The hotel and staff were very satisfactory and good value. The rooms were very clean and modern. The only downside was the breakfast line. The gentleman making the omelettes was overwhelmed as he had only one burner and ran out of toppings (?) constantly. The wait line was at least 15 minutes. There was never enough coffee and not enough staff to look […] after the breakfast crowd's requests. We had to go to the kitchen for milk ourselves. The overall breakfast time should be revamped.. We were looking for a little place to get away and get some r&r, we found it. We really like the decorum the staff the friendliness. We enjoyed our room. We have nothing at all displeasing to say. We will be back.

Nice and Clean hotel - - comfortable room. good amenities. Hotel clerks seem to be recruited from McDonalds.

We stayed at the Element for 5 nights to attend a family reunion in the local area. The best part about our stay was that our room reservation was available and the room was ready on time. Unfortunately, the customer service was the worst we have ever experienced at a hotel. We usually leave tips for housekeeping, but the housekeepers would take the […] tip and not clean the room. We stopped leaving tips after the first incident and informed the desk clerk and management, but the room was never thoroughly cleaned. We even went a full day without the room being cleaned after informing management on three separate occassions that it required cleaning. This made us late for a banquet we were scheduled to attend. We also discovered on our second night that the microwave was not cleaned from the previous guest in our room. We informed the desk clerk and management of this, and it took them two days to clean the microwave. During the remainder of the stay, we decided to inform the desk clerk and management when we were leaving the room so it could be cleaned. They would call housekeeping on the radio, but the room was never cleaned until later in the day. This caused us to have to go to the front desk each day to request fresh towels and wash cloths. The shower was never cleaned during our stay, and the elevators had an awful mildew smell. Needless to say, we will be writing a letter to the Westin corporate offices. Mehr

My husband and I recently stayed at the Element for one night in June for a wedding. We were pleased with the location (across the street from Arundel Mills Shopping Mall which is a gigantic mall/shopping area) and it suited our needs well. We stayed in a King suite and were pleased with the layout and space of the room and bathroom and loved the "swanky" […] decor. There was a full kitchen with a full size fridge, two burners and a dishwasher. We didn't use the kitchen since we were only there for one night, but everything looked nice and in great condition. There was plenty to eat for breakfast (muffins, waffles, egg sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee) and the breakfast area was open late (from 7-10). Overall, a great hotel when you don't want to stay in Baltimore city. Mehr

I have stayed at Aloft next door which seems more put together, perhaps open longer, and it was slightly more upscale, BUT, Element was hugely comfortable, has a great breakfast and evening snacks and is so convenient to Arundel Mills and airport.

Checked in late the first night and our key didn't work. We had to go back down to the front desk and get it fixed. Day 2- A/C went out in room and we weren't given new towels. I told the front desk at 3ish and left the hotel. When we came back around 7 the room was 79 and still no towels. Around 8 I call the front desk again and ask to have AC fixed […] or change rooms. Maintance came up and brought new towels around 8:30, but only the head guy could work on AC, so we had to move rooms. Second room was fine, but 3 out of the 5 nights we were there we did not get either towels or washcloths. The lighting is awful in the hotel. I ask my family to tell me if I looked like a clown when we got outside and I did have to remove some makeup. I am all for saving the environment, but I want clean linens, a cool room, a hot shower (which was also hit or miss) and enough light to put on my make up. With some work this could be a nice hotel. The workout room is one of the best I have seen in a hotel. Mehr

We stayed here one night because we had a very early flight the next morning and needed to be close to BWI, and they provide a free shuttle anywhere within a 5 mile radius including the airport. The morning of our departure, we were informed that there was no shuttle driver. However, they did call us a cab and paid the fare and it all worked out well. The […] hotel itself is very nice but is lacking something in it's attempt to appear very modern. I'd stay there again I don't think I'd want to stay there for more than a couple nights but that's probably more of a personal preference. Mehr

I agree with the other guests that said that there was no room service. I had to call down to the front desk in the evening to get fresh towels and was told that they were in the wash. Overall the hotel is nice and could use some more cleaning in the lobby area.

The first room that I had was not cleaned. There were dirty towels in the bathroom; make-up on one of them. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat and in the shower. There was also a rotten sandwich in the refrigerator. The pool smelled very bad and there was a lot of noise from their sister hotel's bar on Saturday night while I was trying to sleep. […] Other then that, the place was great!! 2 thumbs down. Mehr

I have enjoyed my stay at the Element hotel! I was both relaxed and euphoric at the same time! I had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!
