"Discriminate Against Smokers"
Hotel was fairly close to doctors office we had to go to. Yet I feel they should have a spot that allows me to smoke without getting wet from rain. Coffee pot didn't make hot coffee and contenial breakfast was short on healthy items to eat. Overall it was ok. Yet I have a right to smoke just like the person who doesn't want to smell smoke. Hotel was […] large enough that the top floor could be used as smoking floor as I saw several people out smoking until it started raining. As I am disabled it was a long walk for me to smoke. Price seemed alittle hight for the hotel, yet I guess they take advantage of you if you need to be close to UAB. Mehr

"Springhill Suites was a good value"
The property was very nice. I did not like having to pay to park in the garage however.
"bloody towel"
I enjoyed the hotel quite well. Staff was wonderful room was nice until I took a shower the next day and dried off with a towell that was provided in the room. My wife informed me that there was blood on the towel. Upon further investigation I was not bleeding anywhere on my body. I imedatley called the front desk to complain about the biohazard that […] I exposed to. She offered her oppologies and said that she would inform housekeeping. When we checked out it a few minutes later she asked if we had a good stay except for the towell incident. I told her it was a good hotel until I dried myself with a bloody towell. I fell that if i was not in total shock of this incident I would of demanded my money back at that moment I wanted just to get home to a safe and clean shower. so I did ot pursue any further.I have not had the time to formally complain about this incident because of lack of spare time but you can bet your bottom doller I will not stay at that hotel again Mehr

The staff was exceptional. The hotel should be a 4 star hotel and that is coming from a picky traveler.

Downtown Birmingham was deserted on the weekend, so it was very quiet where we were. The hotel was just fine, clean, everything worked, free wi-fi,multiple free breakfast choices. 5 minutes to 5 Points South and diner- that was a lively neighborhood on a Sat. night. Hampton Tutwiler Hotel was in an area with a lot of homeless people who didn't bother […] anyone, and that hotel looked very interesting and was nothing like a Hampton Inn. "Nicely furnished hotel"
We came down for a concert at the Workplay Theater. The room, a king, had a 42 inch flat screen with hookups for all kinds of devices, a clean bathroom, and a soft bed. I would definitely stay here again. Parking was 10$ per night though.

"Hyatt Downtown Birmingham"
The staff was wonderful and the hotel was clean and comfortable. If I attend another downtown event in Birmingham, I will stay here.

Excellent hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel exceeded all expectations. Parking was in a parking deck next door to hotel. Just use room key card for access and parking charge was added to your room bill. No more inconvient than parking in a parking lot. Would definitely stay again.

I don't think I've ever stayed in a more friendly environment. Every Hyatt Place employee I encountered appeared to be happy that I was there and happy to help in any way. The room was a nice surprise. It had a sitting area with sofa, a refrigerator, nice flat screen TV that swiveled between the sitting area and the bed. This hotel had the best staff and loved the continental breakfast. I was in town 2 days and would definitely stay again.

This was my second time staying at a Hyatt Place Hotel, and both stays were very pleasant. I booked three rooms for 6 travelers, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we enjoyed our experience here. My only complaint concerns the AC unit in our room. The unit cut off a total of 3 times during our stay and had to be reset each time. The hotel […] was actually overbooked, so we did not have the option to get a new room. Maintenance came promptly each time and reset the unit. The staff was wonderful with recommending restaurants and malls. The parking garage was very convenient. This was an overall great experience. "Great location for UAB Hospitals"
Have stayed at this hotel several times to be near UAB Hospitals. Excellent location. Covered parking in garage next to hotel. Hotel is very comfortable, clean and modern, like all Hyatt Place properties. Great rooms, wonderful beds and large flat screen TV! Welcoming staff, good breakfast. Can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Finally there is a reasonable hotel in Downtown Birmingham. This hotel has everything you need at a very good price. I will stay here again. The breakfast was more than reasonable and the staff was very nice and very helpful.

i was staying at th hotel becouse i had surgrey at uab, we got stuck at the hotel do to weather,the staff was so good to us they did everything the could to make us feel at home.they are the bests hotel every and i will never forget them for being so good to us.

Nice hotel, 7 blocks from decent bar scene, really nice work out facility, nice rooms and extremely friendly staff.
"Very Pleasant Stay At Hyatt Downtown Birmingham"
The front desk staff was super super nice. We went downstairs at about 10 to get a drink at the bar and the two people that made our drinks were very friendly and nice. We enjoyed our room as well. It was nice and clean. The hotel was close to everything we wanted to do. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying downtown Birmingham.

Very nice staff - was there for an interview and they attempted to get a shuttle to the hospital for me even though it was an off time. Very responsive to suggestions, very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
"Hyatt Place in Birmingham"
The hotel isn't in a very good neighborhood. Not safe to walk around as the description online says downtown hotel. Our light bulb burnt out in the bathroom when we first arrived. I called the front desk and reported it. Nobody ever came to change the light bulb during our whole stay! There was a tiny light above the bath tub so I guess they weren't […] concerned that we had to use the bathroom in the dark! That is really not satisfactory conditions to stay in a hotel. They also said they would have coffee available downstairs and it was only til 9 am. We were told that the pool was heated indoors and it was freezing cold and unable to use! We parked our car in the garage for a fee and our key wouldn't ever work. We had to wait for security to let us in and out of the garage, they had to confirm we were guests at the hotel each time. Very inconvient. We also asked for extra towels which never came. We couldn't even find a maid with a cart on our floor for assistance with towels and shampoo. Mehr

I really like the design of this hotel. It was very comfortable and had a nice mix of service and comfort. Breakfast was good. The availability of simple food all day is a plus.

"Very clean & convenient"
New hotel, adjacent to UAB campus, close to 5-points area. Having a Parking deck available was nice in downtown Birmingham as street parking is limited and metered. Large room, comfy beds, large sectional sofa. Reasonable price for the quality of property.
