"Gut für kurze Business Trips"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 24. Feb. 2013Das Hotel war eine Empfehlung von Trip Advisor mit sehr guten Bewertungen durchweg. Das hat sich bei meinem Aufenthalt bestätigt. Saubere Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Vergleichsweise schnelle, stabile und kostenlose Internetanbindung. Das Hotel liegt an einer Interstate, daher gute Anbindung und in den Zimmer nach hinten hörte man den Verkehr nicht. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück war ein wenig "mager". Auch das in vielen Hotels dieser Kategorie vorhandene Waffeleisen fehlte. Aber das ist m.E. kein Grund zur Abwertung.

Als ich morgens zum Flughafen wollte, wurde extra für mich beim Shuttletransfer angerufen und innerhalb von 1 Minute war auch schon das Shuttle da. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und in einem top Zustand. Es gibt wirklich nichts was ich bemängelt könnte. Die Lage des Hotels könnte für einen Reisenden nicht besser sein, denn es liegt unmittelbar in Flughafen Nähe und direkt bei den Autovermietungen.

Room gets 4/5 only because there is quite the echo in the jacuzzi room, any sound sounds so much louder.... Neighborhood gets 4/5 because I was almost run over while crossing street when I was walking to get food. Loved the convenience of the surrounding shops and restaurants. The room and Hotel were very clean and luxurious. My one issue was the pillow-top mattress was too soft. Great hotel with its own "village" around it. You could make a day out of the shops that surround it. Our only complaint happened after my wife and I went to the pool. We had taken our room towels to the pool (there weren't any at the pool) and when we called the front desk for more towels the staff kept questioning us as to why we needed more, rather […] than just bringing them. The only reason I gave my visit a 4 rating is the lack of a shower mat, the surface is quite slick without one, and the hotel alarm that had not been cleared and kept going off. Minor details. everything went great. Hotel staff were on the ball and willing to chat and give directions and suggestions. I have friends in area so i already was vaguely familiar. It's a little far west but near most major arteries of travel. Beds are super soft type so I was a little disappointed because I like really firm but they took a suggestion that they may […] replace some firmer ones on each floor so you can have a choice. Received discount at great local eatery by lettting them know we were booked at Wildwood. Friends from Dubai stayed also and said everything was very good. My bed had short, black hairs in it so I left without ever knowing how comfortable it might or might not be. Also...you must park on the street or walk in and out of a creepy parking garage with blind corners. The hotel itself is very pretty and the rooms are comfortable with very nice mattresses on the beds. The area is very nice, safe and quiet. The police station is across the street. It was a little far out from where we needed to be but we had stayed there before and enjoyed it. The breakfast was very basic and not much that my celiac husband could eat. Not far from Hidden Valley Ski resort and plenty of other stuff around to do (the movie theatre is literally across the street). First off we arrived in evening after a 13 hour drive on Dec 26th to find no help getting our baggage inside. It is completely self-serv in every sense of the word. We struggled with that ourselves up to our room. Upon entering, there was an overwhelming horrid chlorine smell and it was coming from the indoor pool. As far as the room is concerned, there […] is not much temp control, unless you use the very old fashioned useless under window blower to noisily circulate air, which happens to be inches away from the bed. We came to St. Louis to spend Christmas with our relatives. The Wildwood Hotel was a great place to stay because we were only 5 minutes away from the homes of my husband's two sisters. We liked everything about the hotel except the breakfast. The breakfast room needs to have windows and I was hoping to see fresh fruit as part of the continental breakfast. Very conveniently located in the newly established town centre within walking distance of restaurants, movie theatre etc. While the room was very nice, the beds were most uncomfortable and made for a very poor nights sleep. I would also suggest to replace the thin plastic cups with glass cups. At the otherwise good breakfast it would have been nice […] to find some kind of fruit. "Quiet hotel in a great location"
This is a nice, quiet hotel that is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The beds are unlike any other hotel we've stayed in -- so, so soft! (So if you like/need a firmer mattress, consider this before you book. The mattresses are double-double pillowtops, so not a lot of support along the edges.) It's great to have this hotel as an option in the […] area -- great location near many shops, movie theater, banks, grocery. Only quibbles are that the current exercise room is small and had only three machines -- two of which were not working quite right. Also, this sounds weird to say, but staff should consider blinds or some sort of remote covering on the skylight in rooms on the top floor -- if you aren't ready to see the sun at 5-6 a.m., you don't have a choice. When I checked into the hotel, no information was given about the complimentary breakfast - time or place. It is not in the hotel information in the room. I had to call down and ask about it. All other hotels where I have stayed let you know that when you check in. The rubber mat for the bathtub had mold on it. The down comforter bedspread has a red […] stain on it that looked like blood. "Terrible and uncomfortable BEDS - air mattress?"
This is a beautiful facility! One of the most important factors in staying in a hotel is the bed. The beds are like air mattresses!!!! We had 2 Queen size beds, and my husband and I had to split up and each sleep in the middle of each bed, as not to roll out. Our backs were killing us each day - stayed 2 nights. I got 3 hours of sleep the first night […] because of the mattress and 4 hours the 2nd night. Our other family members who stayed in the hotel in 3 other rooms, said the same thing about their beds. You have to get rid of those mattresses if you want repeat business! Lovely and clean and nicely decorated, but a customer has to have a good night's sleep. Not possible on your beds. This is the only reaon I would not return, I need my sleep an suffered for 2 days of bachaches after our stay. I don't even have a bad back. Thanks.
