Bougainvillier Hotel - Phnom Penh

We stayed twice at the Bougainvillier. The first time, we were very impressed with the room, with its beautiful furniture and exquisite bathroom. The hot water system let us down, though. On our second stay, the room (for which we paid the same price) was inferior, in particular the bathroom. It was also located on the fourth floor, quite a journey […] upstairs (a lift is under construction, or so it seems). The breakfast venue (restaurant) is lovely and the breakfast itself was good. I might stay here again, but would make sure I get a room on the southern wing. Mehr

Be sure to get rooms on the first or second floor, there is no elevator and stairs and very heavy going.

The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Great location within walking distance of the National Museum and Royal Palace, right across from the river. I would say it would be rated about a three in the US, but higher in Asia. Overall a good value. The price was higher if you booked directly. Nice breakfast buffet.

A traveller looking to stay in a hotel close to all central tourist attractions should consider this hotel. However, the rooms, even within the same category, are in different condition. I had a fairly nice deluxe room but my friend's one was really basic and run down, and his noisy aircon kept him up though most of the night. He considered changing […] to a suite (only other room available) but decided otherwise as the "non-smoking" suite was stinking of cigarettes. Mehr

A good, reasonably priced, hotel with a terrific location. Would certainly recommend to others.

We had a suite overlooking the river so were able to enjoy people watching from the comfort of our private balcony. Luckily for us we were on the first floor as there is no lift. Breakfast was quite acceptable although I have had better buffet breakfasts. The bed was really comfortable with great pillows. A couple of little complaints...the first day […] there we we only had one bath towel and one coffee sachet for two of us. Second day we got two towels but no floor towel (which we did have the first day). Housekeeping seems to be a little bit erratic. Also I left a pair of shoes behind and went back the next day to get them but they claimed not to have found them. Wasn't real pleased about that. The front desk staff were really friendly. All in all it was a good hotel and we enjoyed our stay there. I do think though that is was somewhat overpriced...especially for a hotel with no lift. Mehr

Bougainvillier Hotel is located on the quay in the tourist area. The room was a bit small but well decorated and furnished. My room was quiet. Everything seemed clean and well set up. I travel around the world alot and am OK with a range of hotel types, I just want them (1) to be honest and about what they are and (2) to meet certain basic minimum requirements. This is not a boutique hotel...there's nothing boutique about it. It's just a somewhat comfortable hotel that is pretty well located. It has no elevator, and it makes a different […] in this place. My bathtub wouldn't seem to drain well. And by their response to my asking for it to be checked, it was clear I wasn't the first one to notice it. The internet connection went out on a regular basis. I asked in advance for the hotel to arrange a one-day tour for me, describing the places I wanted to see. What they in fact did was book me a taxi driver who dropped me off at each place. This was not a guided tour. And, I could have hired the cab for 1/3 tthe cost, but that's not the point. I wanted a guided TOUR, and I had been clear about that when I booked in advance. And then the cardinal sin: forgetting to make the wake-up call I requested. Thankfully I woke up by myself, but had I not I would have missed my plane. In summary, a well intentioned hotel with somewhat friendly staff but it wasn't the hotel experience that I had planned and paid for. I would have gladly paid more for a truly boutique hotel with the services I requested. Mehr

Very clean. Has a restaurant on the first floor and roof. Good food. Centrally located.

The hotel is directly located on Sisowath Quay - close to restaurants, bars and sights. We chose a suite with balcony and stayed in the older part of the hotel (second building). The room was huge, nicely decorated and spotless. The bathroom was very clean too but could use some updating. Breakfast was nice and we especially enjoyed the bar/restaurant […] on the rooftop after a long day. The other hotel restaurant seemed very pricey compared to other restaurants in the area so we didn't go there. There is no elevator which didn't bother us. We didn't have wifi in our room but got a cable to connect to the internet with our laptop. Overall, we'll definitely stay there again! Mehr

a goos three night stay , there is a separate entrance for some of the rooms, but it has good security. very central ,right on the riverfront, but very quiet. good breakfast but fresh milk should be on ice (small point, bu that's how service improves). They were overpricing vietnam visas ( 46 usd as opposed to 37 down the street). All in all, clean […] comfortable and friendly. Mehr

This hotel felt like you were in French Indochina. Everything was great except a rather long climb up to the fourth floor rooms (no lift) which were actually about 6 fligts up!. Also there was a bit of an annoying odor in the room like maybe there was some issue with the plumbing. it was only noticeable when you returned to the room.

The hotel is OK, but you feel a little old feeling when you get there. They have decorated the room nicely, but couldn't overcome the fact that it is old. HAving stayed in at least 3 other hotels that were similarly valued and located in historical houses, you know that it needs improvement. The view is not as nice as expected, as currently they are […] undergoing repairs so they have a fence alongside that part of the river. The location is very good, though, you are right next to the riverside restaruants and tourist activity, as well as the Royal Palace and National Museum. When we returned 10 days later, we stayed in another boutique hotel and loved it. Mehr

I strongly recommend this hotel. My husband and stayed there for a night after two great weeks in Cambodia in early September 2009. Great decor, extremely clean, well-designed bathroom, fantastic service, on Sisowath Quay so close to everything (places to visit, the river, restaurants, bars). A brilliant French restaurant on the ground floor which serves […] (included in the room rate) an excellent breakfast. We only needed a mid-range overnight as we were flying out early in the morning so we weren't looking for or needing 5+. For value for money, this is right up there. Enjoy! Mehr

Habituée du Cambodge, j'ai été décue par ect hôtel que je tenais à découvrir à cause de sa décoration "Khmer". l'acceuil a été convenable mais je suis allée de mauvaises surprises en déconvenues.Chambre sans aération au dessus de la cuisine donnant sur un mur aveugle, obscurité garantie et odeurs à souhait. Petit déjeuner spartiate et le clou, pour […] un late check out à 5 p.m, ils ont voulu me facturer la nuitée avec un tarif beaucoup plus élévé. En bataillant j'ai payé une demi journée de plus sur une autre base que mon tarif de réservation. Je n'y retournerais sous aucun prétexte. Mehr

Chambres confortables et grandes mais sombres. Escaliers interminables. Clim avec mode d'emploi en chinois !!! Douche écossaise. Petit déjeuner à revoir : buffet non réassorti après 9 heures du matin.

Very nice hotel at very good prices. Only "issue" is no lift - but excercise is good for you! ;) Staff very friendly and helpful. My room was fantastic - but next time I'll ask for a river view as what I saw from the rooftop bar was spectacular. Would definitely go back & recommend for others.

到达时不会觉得服务人员特别的热情，但是两天下来，其实他们会帮你把你需要的任何事情办得妥妥当当的。早餐是传统的西式自助，不太有当地特色，但是味道和品种都还不错。 出门就是河边，周围很多cafe，餐馆（好像是酒吧街？），装潢味道都不错，而且囊括了当地特色和传统西式。只是后来才得知，该条街的餐饮是当地相对较贵的。这个位置是好是坏就看你的喜好了。:)

Et hyggelig hotell med god beliggenhet, hyggelig personale og god mat. Absolutt full valuta for pengene.
