Comfortable room but problems with insufficient heating and television needed adjustment - picture on ITV was very dark. Plus door lock was wonky and my husband could not operate it at all but I could with difficulty as I had a neater hand. We did report problems but nothing was done. On balance it was very well appointed and comfortable and it was […] nice to have a bath as well as shower. Just needed some tweaking. Breakfast room was beautiful even if we did have to travel to another hotel and the food was very good. Staff very polite and friendly in all cases. Mehr

It was a good experience staying at this hotel in aviemore. its located in a beautiful scenic location. The village has some great food places to eat just stone throw away. The Bath was not clean enough as i would have liked to be. Other than that it was good experience.

Stopped at this hotel for 5 nights excellent value. good quality rooms, breakfast excellent can only have praise for the sfaff polite and helpful would certainly recommed

The room was basic but comfortable as we were only there for 2 nights. There was no room amenities and because it was a 4 star resort i was quite shocked about. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was over priced and not very nice, a few nice restaurants down in Aviemore itself much better & cheaper. THE HOTEL AND COMPLEX LOOKS VERY NICE UPON ARRIVAL BUT THE ROOM WE WAS ALLOCATED WAS IN NEED OF MODERNISATION, HAVING SAID THAT IT WAS VERY CLEAN AND WE DIDNT GET DISTURBED ONCE DURING THE NIGHT, VERY PEACEFUL STAY.

After booking a room at the Aviemore Inn in the Highland resort we were given a free upgrade to the 4 star Aviemore Highland Hotel. The room was beautiful clean, bath/shower en suite. The staff were so helpful - we asked for a dvd player and they brought one to the room. Breakfast was also great - something for everyone. Excellent stay.

Stayed for 4 nights and were totally pleased with everything. Excellent value for money and VERY comfy beds!!

Great, suited us well, perfect central location. Comfortable room, decor bit dated but price was good! Service good, cooked breakfasts good!

Just had two day stop at Aviemore Inn, rooms a little tired but was just after bed for couple of nights. Staff were really helpful and could not do enough to help. Location was ideal for the town and for the activities in the area.

The Hotel was handy for all amenities. Love the pool area including the wave machine! The windows in the hallway were all open- and some of them couldn't close- a little cold for late October in the Highlands! Everything else fab!

I booked this for a leisure stay figuring that, as part of the Macdonald Aviemore Resort and having stayed at some of their other hotels, the reviews of 1.0 and 2.0 must be wrong. They aren't. In desperate need of an update, the room was dirty, with large rusting patches in the bathtub, a faulty shower (it wouldn't stop when running a bath), drawers […] which wouldn't open, a TV with basic channels and faulty sound and a serious problem with the heating (there's a 1.5" hot water pipe running through the room so it's really hot at all times). We had 2 keys for the room, but only one fitted, we weren't told where to eat breakfast (it was at two different locations during our 3 night stay), the pool is taken over by a local swimming club in the evenings and the slide is closed after 5.00pm. In short - we won't go back - I'd rather pay more and be comfortable than stay here. Mehr

Only a stop over for business but this hotel provided a very good room and breakfast and was excellent value.

Met by unfriendly receptionist who told us to go away and come back in 10 minutes as we had arrived 10 minutes early for check in. Obviously when we got back half an hour later there was a queue as others had been told the same. The Inn itself was unmanned as there is a central check in desk for the resort. We found this out when we walked into the […] Inn and the only instruction was a note by the side of the phone on the reception desk saying ring for reception. We were then told where to go for check in. The room was comfortable but very dated. Bathroom particularly needed updating. Problem with flood in the bathroom in the morning and had to almost "fight" to be moved to another room so we could shower before we went on our way. Breakfast arrangements very basic.....buffet style which isn't normally a problem for us but we had to ask for clean cups and hot water as there weren't any readily available. Staff once again unattentive. I was suprised by the lack of customer care in such a large organisation. First time with them and it will be the last. Mehr

i felt this hotel was very poor. i stayed in the Inn part of the hotel and it was really poor, Never any staff around to help, no manned checkin in either the main hotel or the inn. Place very dated and unfriendly. I never write reviews, but i had to on this occasion. if i could i would have checked out and stayed at a B&B

The receiptionist is worst ever I have seen. When I said "how are you", she replied "what is your name" She was cold face and voice, just wanted to get rid off customer as soon as posible. We went into allocated room, there was no electricity at late afternoon in dark and waited for 25 minutes for replacing the room. Same receiptionist called in 3 times […] and asked if we have electricity card. If we needed a electricity card, why she didn't give to us. But 2nd receiptionist is very good. Mehr

I enjoyed my stay at the McDonald resort, disapointed that the sauna was out of action...also that the beds were not that comfy and the room was not up to standard...i did however think the sstaff were great and i would go back, overall i enjoyed my time there.

The resort is lovely as is the public areas. The room that I stayed in which was in the MacDonald Inn building was extrememly dated and tattie. The bedroom was run down looking and the toilet was very basic and dated. The room looked as if it hadnt been decorated for about 20 years. It is a shame as the rest of the resort has beeen finished to such […] a high standard and the staff were welcoming too. It was a business trip so the room served it's purpose however if this was a lesuire break I would not have accepted that room. Mehr

Room very clean but some maintenance required. Shower difficult to adjust. Toilet flushing handle sticks. Room door had swollen and was difficult to close without banging. Milk for tea making was sour. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Amenities were very good.

A very interesting combination of feelings with this hotel. By far, one of the smartest hotels in Aviemore. I cannot pick apart the room or the service, very comfortable and tidy. Stunning rooms, and good bathrooms, good food on site and only a few minutes walk from the main Aviemore street with all the shops and restaurants on. We had a lovely stay at this hotel all that you need for a good weekend in Aviemore. The only thing that was wrong is the staff are not very cheery or welcoming.

I was greeted at checkin like I was an alien invader. Not nice when you are checking in after midnight and after 2.5 hour drive. "You sure you at right hotel?". "Show me proof of your reservation"... all before he even checked the reservation system. The restraunt was only open to the blue-rinse bus tour members. The place was falling to pieces.
