Liegt an der Hauptstraße. Im nachhinein kann ich mich an eine Störung, durch Lärm nicht erinnern. Es gibt dort ein Frühstück, mit allem was der Amerikaner gerne ißt. Ich habe jedoch einen anderen Geschmack.

My getaway for my 30th birthday was beautiful. A big part of me wanted to just spend the complete time in the hotel. The employes were nice. The building was super clean. My check in was fast even though it was an out of the blue booking.

"Great space"
We were pleasantly surprised to see that our room had a great sitting area to kick back and visit with our friends before the concert. We have no complaints at all.

I had a very nice weekend staying there....everything was close to us...and when taking a break...it was nice and quiet...such a nice place to just take time off to relax...I really was pleased and would go back any time...

This is a wonderful stay! You get 4.5 star treatment from the top down. Double Tree is literally a steps to the Joe, Comerica Park and Greektown. If you are planning an adventure in the D, this is the place to have as a home base!
"Amazingly Great Stay"
I was very pleased with the staff and their helpfulness overall at the hotel - with one exception. I would not recommend the restuarant downstairs for anything but breakfast. We waited a while on a Friday night to be seated....and there was only two other people in the restuarant. The waiter took several minutes to take our order, then even more to […] get our food. "Would stay again & again"
Not only was the hotel's location pretty perfect for us, but the stuff that you expect to be perfect were. Clean room, VERY friendly service, quick to serve us with a smile. We weren't waiting long to checkout either and valet were super quick too. Being in Detroit wasn't so bad either. Hotel was nice, it was quiet, and had comfortable beds. The staff was friendly, and the valet parking was great. I was disappointed with a couple things though. The hotel seemed understaffed. I had to wait in line at the reception desk every time I went. We had 6 people staying in the suite I reserved. I requested extra towels both in the reservation, […] and in person when we got there. I booked this hotel as part of a birthday gift for my boyfriend. We absolutely loved the hotel it was so close to Joe Louis Arena which was perfect because we were going to a Red Wings game. I would stay here again.

This hotel was very clean, and the rooms were large. Very close to the Joe Louis Arena and the bar was great. The food from the Finn and Porter was not good and they only have $20 valet parking. Everything about hte hotel itself was great though.

Great room for a good price. Close to the JOE!!! Only complaint, no fridge. Awesome service from the door, to check in, to room service, to check out, and car retrival.

The room was way too hot. Even after adjusting the temperature, it was still too hot.
My first timegetting a room and going with hotel.com and I chose the doubletree...itt seemed really nice and classy..until I met the deskclerks and I felt like a bug..like I didn't belong like I didn't fit the profile to stay at their hotel..I was booked on the 3rd floor and I asked for a higher level and I didn't wanted to be facing the building but […] id like to face the river..they told me that's all they had..later I found out it wasn't..the room they gave me had dust along the edges of the walls and I had to ask for a refredgerator and microwave to be placed in my room...I felt like because ididnt look like I had money orbecause I was only staying one night that I really didn't count.or because I didn't know what the protocall for checkin in that I was treated not as well as those who did know and are use to being at your hotel.Also I don't know if it was just me..but I didn't see another person on my floor...I seemed to be the only one on floor 3 that day..the following week I booked a room elsewhere to see if the service and room is the same and it wasn't. I really perferred to spend my stay and money that I earned to stay with the hotels in my city,but. I really want to be where I'm treated like everyone else and have a clean room to sleep and relax in with a few visitors,but it seem as though the other hotel that was in another city had more to offer such as cleanliness,friendliness and they gave me a nice room in a nice area of the hotel,unlike the stay at the doubletree in my hometown. We decided to stay overnight after watching a Red Wing hockey game. The Hotel was in a perfect location. "Doubletree Suites Downtown Detroit - Fort Shelby"
Excellent stay at the doubletree. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced also. Note- website says it costs $5 to park your car, it actually costs $20/night. Overall great stay, close to everything and people mover. Would recommend this hotel to others.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was large. The workers were very friendly. The only negative thing about the room was glass on the bathroom floor...luckily no one cut themself.

Excellent clean Hotel. Friendly professional staff. Spacious luxury clean suites. Great stay. Very impressed.
Close to RedWings game could take people mover back to Hotel which was nice because there was a blizzard that night.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. However there is no shuttle to hotel from airport so it cost $55 each way to get to hotel. With 2 kids coming in from different places, ended up costing over $160 for shuttle to and from hotel, which was more than plane ticket. Also I had a late flight and needed to check out at 1pm instead of 12 and […] they wanted to charge $50 even though it was Sunday and hotel was not full. "Go RED WINGS"
Stayed for a night arrived earyly able to check in and free upgrade, room was very comfortable, valet was fast. Right near all the stadkiums too walking distance to everything and free shuttles

I have always enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree at Fort Shelby. The rooms are gigantic, and my twins have the space to run around uninhibited. However, I felt that the service might be a little bit underwhelming, compared to previous experiences. The room service menu has been curtailed, and housekeeping failed to clean the room the on 1 of the 2 days […] that we stayed at the hotel. Hope that this is not a theme that would continue. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr

"Hotel is great - neighborhood is not"
No complaints about the hotel. The service was fine, the room was clean & big. The neighborhood, though was AWFUL. I thought Detroit was 'revitalizing' their downtown, but I didn't see it. We had friends that stayed at another hotel 3 blocks away and the 3 blocks in between hotels were nothing but abandoned buildings or empty lots where buildings had […] been knocked down. You should stay here if you have business to attend to in the immediate area - don't expect to stay here & go sightseeing in the downtown neighborhood anytime soon. Mehr

"Cranky staff on Thanksgiving!?!"
We travel to Detroit every year for Thanksgiving. We like to stay downtown because we go to the football game at Ford Field. We decided to stay at this hotel because of the absolutely horrendous service we received last year at the Renaissance Center. It must be contagious. Hotel is pretty nice. Convenient to people mover. Basic 2-3 star hotel. Service […] in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was super slow. Food was pretty good. Staff was miserable. I get it...working on Thanksgiving must suck but don't take it out on the guests. Won't stay here next year for sure!!! Mehr
I stayed during the Detroit Marathon, and despite the heavy traffic of Marathon guests checking in, they were able to process everyone quickly and with a great attitude. The hotel suites are very nice.

We recently stayed here and went to a show at the Fox Theater. The location was great. We walked 2 short blocks to get to the People Mover to take us to the stop for the theater. I will have to say that the one bad thing about this hotel is the self parking lot next door. We chose to self park and had to be out of the lot by 11 am the next morning, […] when the check out for the hotel is noon. Mehr

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and once again my family and I were all treated with the utmost kindness, friendliness, and helpfulness by the staff. The staff bends over backwards to insure the stay was satisfactory (some more than others).
