BODEGA BAY INN - Bodega Bay

I cannot recommend this hotel and because it cannot, in my view it damages the reputation of Hotels.com. It's difficult "To wake up happy" at the Bodega Bay Inn.

This is a case of you get what you pay for. The room was basically clean, but small and filled with worn furniture. Sound control was bad and I could hear conversations from the room next door. The included breakfast was basically cereal and some sweet rolls. Again, you get what you pay for.

We were surprised. Last minute booking..Very friendly and comfortable place. A warm welcoming owner and staff. Will go back and bring family and friends.

We stayed in second floor room in a detatched building with a nice view and deck with two chairs. The entrance for the room was at the back of the building across graveled gound and up a flight of stairs. We were initially directed to a dark room on the ground level with cement floors, no carpeting or throw rugs, one high window with no view or ability […] to look out. We asked if there were others rooms available and, fortunately, were directed to an upstairs room that had not yet been reserved. There was no difference in the cost of the two rooms, which seemed surprising to us. Even though the upstairs room was improved over the ground level one first shown, it was a bit small for a king bed and had no closets, no dresser or chest of drawers There were only three night stands (one next to the bed had a bulb burnt out). With no other flat surfaces in the room, it was not possible to unpack anything. There were several coat hooks on the wall in the entry and in the bathroom for which to hang clothing or items. There was no place for bags, and only one chair for seating. No table There were no towel racks or counter of any kind in the bathroom, and no glasses from which to get a glass of water or a beverage. The sheets were tattered and thread-bare including holes in several places. The bathroom was spacious with a large walk-in shower. The shower curtain did not reach to the floor so water from the shower would splash onto the floor. The shower head was very large in diameter and innefficient for effectiveness likewise for an area having water consumption issues. The decor was minimal. no pictures or decorative elements only a flat screen TV mounted to the wall opposite the bed. The wall heater mounted adjacent to the glass doors was melting the plastic vertical blinds and warping was visible. Poor design and potentially hazardous. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. We had reservations for two nights and believe the room was sub-standard for the cost. Mehr

Prospective user should be aware that what you see on this establishment's website may not be the room you are booking. Pictures on the website are examples of rooms in the main building, but there is a second, out building with several additional rooms that you may be booked into. This building looks like a do-it-yourself construction project that […] is not quite finished. These rooms do not resemble the photos on line and there was a strong aroma of mold and/or musty air in the two rooms we were shown. Stall shower had mold on the bottom and appeared to be unfinished as there was an exposed 2'x4' on top of one of the walls of the shower. As for the bedding, sheets were paper thin and appeared to have not been changed. One of the bedside lamps was inoperable. I attempted to change the light bulb thinking it was burned out but even with a new bulb, the lamp failed to work. If you choose to book this facility, I would recommend that you opt for a room in the main building and park in the paved lot in the small strip mall just below the inn as the parking area within the grounds of the inn is dirt and gravel and will be difficult to enter if wet and/or muddy. This hotel, overall is a nice play to stay, quiet with decent grounds. The over all room was good, but the bathroom was not finished properly to match the rest of the room. the shower is finished with tileboard, and not properly sealed or finished, the top of the wall is bare 2x4. makes the overall room feel cheesey. should have been finished with tile […] to match the floor.overall, the room was satisfactory, just could have been better with the shower being properly completed.
