Das Hotel liegt direkt am Fluss und wir haben ein seitliches Zimmer bekommen aber trotzdem einen guten Blick auf den Fluss gehabt. Der Check-In war schnell und problemlos. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sehr hochwertig eingerichtet, verfügen über einen riesigen Flatscreen der auch einige englischsprachige Sender bietet. Die Betten die angenehmsten […] die wir (nicht nur) in China gehabt haben. Das Bad ist ebenfalls sehr groß, hat 2 separate Waschbecken, eine Badewanne sowie eine separate Dusche mit mehreren Funktionen (Regenwalddusche, Handdusche und seitliche Wasserstrahlen). Pro Tag bekommt man 2 Gratis-Flaschen Wasser auf's Zimmer, ansonsten kann man sich in der Mini-Bar bedienen, die Preise dafür sind aber recht hoch. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es mehrere kleine Lebensmittelläden, dort kann man sich für wenig Geld mit Wasser und anderem eindecken. Das Hotel liegt ca. 5 Gehminuten zur U-Bahn Station Lujiazui‎. Dort befinden sich auch mehrere Malls mit sehr vielen Restaurants und bekannten Shops wie z.B. einem der drei Apple Stores von Shanghai. Wer ein sehr gutes, ruhiges Hotel mit guter Anbindung an die U-Bahn sucht, der ist im Gran Melia richtig. Mehr

Die Fotos auf Hotels.com haben nicht zuviel versprochen. Das Zimmer war genauso, wie ich mir das vorgestellt habe. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es herrschte eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Ich hatte den Vorteil, dass ich das WiFi gratis nutzen durfte. Wäre dies nicht so gewesen, wäre es für meine Verhältnisse etwas teuer gewesen (ich […] bin mir jedoch auch nicht gewohnt im 5-Sterne-Hotel zu residieren). Die Aussicht war, wie gebucht, auf das Financial District gerichtet. Ich konnte jedoch auch auf den Huangpu sehen und somit auf einen Teil des Bunds, was fantastisch war. Gegessen habe ich nicht im Hotel, deshalb kann ich da keine Bewertung abgeben. Im obersten Stockwerk hat es eine Bar mit einer schönen Aussicht, die Preise entsprechen anderen Lounges in dieser Lage in Shanghai. In der Nähe des Gran Melia liegt die U-Bahn-Station Lujiazui, welche direkt beim Oriental Pearl Tower, der Superbrand Mall und dem Century Park liegt. Von dort aus liegt Nanjing Road (grösste Einkaufsmeile Shanghai's) nur eine Station entfernt. Vom Hotel aus ist die Uferpromenade nicht weit entfernt, welche einen super Ausblick auf den Bund bietet. An der Promenade entlang hat es diverse Gastronomiebetriebe wie z.B. Starbucks, eines der Paulaner Brauhäuser, Häagen Dazs oder auch etwas gehobenere Restaurants. Taxis sind für europäische Verhältnisse sehr günstig und vom Hotel aus immer gut erreichbar. Der einzige Nachteil war für mich, dass die Metro durch die Woche nur bis 22 Uhr fährt (Wochenende ca. 23 Uhr), danach ist man auf's Taxi angewiesen. Die Fahrt ans andere Ufer des Huangpu (z.B. Puxi) ist etwas lang, kommt aber auch immer auf den Verkehr an, welcher in der Nacht nicht schlimm war. In Pudong ist in der Nacht nicht sehr viel los, was einerseits sehr angenehm ist zum Schlafen, auf der anderen Seite aber mühsam, wenn man länger als bis 22 Uhr wegbleiben möchte. Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen und ist sehr preiswert. Das gilt aber nicht für das Abendessen. Dieses sollte man eher nicht im Hotel einnehmen. Da stimmt das Preis Leistungverhältnis nicht.

I stayed at this hotel for 9 nights on business, and could not fault it all, the staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you, the facilities were excellent. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location. Too bad no wifi inside the room. The waiter at the lounge was terrible in manner. The worse thing is the shelf where fridge was installed, the size is wrong and if you try to open the fridge from the top, you finger will get squeezed by the shelf top and it bleeds my finger skin. Other than that, everything is good.

The Hotel is located about 35 minutes from the Pudong international airport. It is surrounded by big shopping complex such as IFC mall, Zhen Da shopping centre, the landmark Grand Hyatt Hotel, Shanghai Pearl Tower and Aquarium. It took a 8 minutes walk to the Metro station but u will pass by many restaurants and convenient shop. (about 1 C) We like the hotel design very much as there are many details in their architecture design. It is really a wonderful hotel except their buffet dinner not so attractive. I stayed here twice. Great customer service. Truly a five star hotel. Only thing is that this place is located on the Pudong side and 5-7 mins to the nearest metro.

Could not do better value to money than in Gran Melia. More promotional from the hotel would certainly be highly appreicated.

Overall, a very satisfying experience. Pudong would not be my choice for a first-time visit to Shanghai, but if you do need to stay on the east side of the river, this hotel presents a rather good option. Be advised, though, that the advertised view of the Bund from your room really faces NE of the main Bund buildings and illuminations. You can easily […] make up for that disappointment, however, with dinner at South Beauty, a Szechuan restaurant on the 10th floor of the Super Brand Mall; just be sure to reserve a table with a view, which will require a relatively modest minimum order (a German manager can provide help with the menu in several languages). I spent 8 nights at the Gran Melia. The location is perfect, just beside the Pearl, on the Yellow River. If you are a runner, you can go run along the river. Beautiful. the romm was to warm and cant change the Air Condinitioner we call to the desk to send the engineer they promise to do it but nobody came

The hotel is beautiful and amazing. Unfortunely, the air quality was horrible. We got to our room and it was filled with smoke and we could not take the air. We went back to the management to get another room and they gladly helped. The next room was much better but still a hint of smoke. The general areas all smell like thick cigarette air.. The standard of the hotel is definitely 5 *. But was ripped off twice in the bar, firstly they insisted that they charged us for 8 drinks and we only had 6. 2nd experience was that they charged us the same for a small drink as a large drink. Bar Manager was very rude and needs some real customer service training

Nice view of the financial district and comfortable bed. Side of the bath tub below the faucet is cracked probably due to maintenance but no problem. Overall, the hotel is beautiful and tastefully decorated without the crowd.

Gran Melia- a great stay. the room and beds were v comfortable. I liked the swimming pool on the 30th floor as it offers an awesome view of the river. we enjoyed the food at the chinese and italian restaurants too. helpful staff who speak competent English.

Free WiFi is available in general spaces but not in the bedroom. Besides that, everything is excellent with Gran Melia. Staff is helpful and fluent in English. Rooms are very modern and show up with some interesting details.

If you don't want to be overwhelmed by the crowds of people on the Bund, stay across the river at the Gran Melia. Attractive, well-maintained hotel with excellent staff - made us feel welcome instantly. Our room had the most beautiful view of Shanghai at night. This is a beautiful hotel in a very convenient location- 5 minutes from subway, 10 minutes walking to the Pearl Tower and next door to the aquarium. Also close to a huge mall that had amazing restaurants (try DTF for dumplings). The staff spoke excellent english, were very courteous and helpful, and the rooms had the most amazing views. The gym and […] pool maintained a very spa like experiences with robes and slippers for use in the locker rooms. The showers and bathrooms very modern and stylish and the beds were extra comfortable with feather pillows. This hotel is an excellent choice and I would definitely stay again. You go there if the best will only do

I looked at a lot of hotels on the web and read a lot of reviews. Even though this wasn't in The Bund area I felt the deal and the reviews would lead me to a great experience. And I was right. This is a great place to stay. Beautiful interiors. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Their English was good and a heck of a lot better than my Chinese. When […] I checked in they offered an upgrade to the deluxe rooms. I had only booked a superior room with no extras and saved a bunch so I decided to go for the upgrade. That included an upgraded breakfast buffet on the 28th floor. Great views and a wide selection of foods. Western style bacon and individually served hash rounds were the first I had seen in 3 weeks. Croissants. Honey BBQ pork steamed buns. (Bao) Sushi. Fresh fruit. Pastries. Hard meats. All yummy and the service was good too. The upgrade also included free internet which saved a good bit of money. Easy to set up just plug it in and open a browser. With my Mac I even set up a local wifi hotspot so I could use my iphone apps and ipad. (If you don't know how you can ask your local Apple store. There is one located nearby across the street from the Oriental Pearl. 10 min walk. Might require some sketches as I don't know how much english they speak.) The deluxe room was very spacious and I must of spent a few minutes playing with all the different lighting options before checking out the view. The river view was nice. Not as great as if you were facing the bund but nice none the less. Might have liked the view towards the financial district as I did from the buffet. Bathroom is also spacious with tub and rainfall shower with body jets (which I didn't use.) Speaker in the bathroom allows you to listen to the TV as well and if you were in the tub could still get a view of the TV. Much more calmer on this side of shanghai -- just a short cab to the main area.

very nice hotel.great service.every one will love it

the location is perfect , right on the river, and close to about every exceptional new building. River view rooms are worth paying extra paying, having absolutely spectacular views morning, noon and night. The facilities are beyond first rate. Beautiful swimming pool.

Great location, most pampering rooms, great food - not even one issue to complain about

I stayed in this hotel for 11 days for my biz trip in Shanghai, and likes this hotel very much. The environment of this hotel is friendly. The room is clean and neat will relative new facilities.

This is quite a new hotel - taxi driver didn't know where it was and had to call. Very good location of financial district in Pudong - next to Aquarium and Pearl Tower. 5 minute walk to subway and IFC Mall. Lobby is impressive. I was given river view room which overlooks the area slightly east of the bund. Room was good size - and bathroom nice - but […] one sink and a couple of electrical outlets were not working (no big deal). Flat SCreen TV - but SD piture quality is not reat. Satellite has CNN, BBC and a few others. I tried both the Spanish and Italian restaurant - both great - they also had Chinese and Buffet. Staff were excellent. Price on hotels.com was great for 5* in Shanghai. They charge for internet. Hotel was not that full - lobby and restaurants were not crowded - so that is both good and bad - I guess people just don't know about Gran Melia - this is a hidden gem .... Mehr

The hotel is strategically positioned in Pudong. The location is perfect for business or pleasure. Every service extended by the hotel is perfect. The value is extrodinary as compared with other hotels in the area. The five star rating suites the hotel. I travel to China often and will stay at the gran Melia again, soon.

Hotel has to do something to Internet access. Line and receiving bad , facing intermittent fault to connect.

Очень качественный отель с хорошим сервисом, получили массу приятных эмоций от 10-дневного пребывания. Любые наши просьбы выполнялись очень быстро и на высоком уровне. Вид из окна на реку потрясающий. отличный бассейн. Минус один - очень дорогие завтраки. Обязательно вернемся сюда не раз, так как часто бываем в Шанхае.

硬件真是没的说，酒店外型很漂亮。可惜没什么服务。还有一点，就是第2天开始毛巾通通都有方便面的味道。这让我情何以堪阿。。。

전반적으로 호텔에 활기와 의욕이 없는 쇠락해가는 호텔같았습니다. 오래된 호텔도 아닌데 뭔가 썰렁하고, 카우터 외에는 벨보이도 보이지 않고 야심차게 문을 열었지만 관리가되지 않아 급속 쇠락해가는 그런 느낌 가격이라도 저렴했으면 그맛에 위로가 될수있었을텐데....아쉽네요
