Aloft Washington National Harbor - Oxon Hill

We enjoyed it.,although we are not used to the Aloft modern settings in a room we prefer the old country style big pillows and comfy blankets. The room was very clean.

It was a really neat hotel. The rooms are different (a good different) with great views! How they have this hotel decorated and the colors are great!!

didn't love the decor - maybe too modern for me. large crack in our bathroom door (in the mirror). pool was very small. liked snack shop, easy access to all of national harbor. overpriced for what you get. couldn't watch movie i ordered, but there was a rainstorm . . .

I entered the hotel late at night. I was welcomed pleasantly by the staff at the front desk. There was music playing, but not too loudly. Quite a few people have a drink at the bar. It was a very welcoming atmosphere. I got to my room and was pleased with the room setup. The housekeeping that ensued left very much to be desired. Towels, washcloths, […] tea, coffee were just a few things that were not restocked properly. Each night that I stayed there resulted in another housekeeping job that was not done completely. Washcloths were never replaced, only the dirty ones were taken away. Tea and coffee were not replaced completely. I am a very neat person, so I had not left a huge mess for the staff to clean up after. Still the housekeeping service I received left much to be desired. Mehr

Very nice hotel. Comfortable beds and very friendly and helpful staff. Parking was cheap and right across the street. The only negatives were that the bathroom door didn't have a lock and the restraunt downstairs was very expensive. We went to the CVS one block over and picked up stuff for breakfast the second morning. Overall very nice.

The area was nice and the shops and restaurants were very convenient.

Housekeeping did not come by to clean the room one day. Come in late from nearby conference to unmade beds, no clean towels, and full trash cans with old food. Called to front desk to tell them about the unclean room and received this reply: "So what EXACTLY do you need?" This was very rude and I was highly disappointed.

I arrived and was checked in, the woman was speaking quite fast and I couldn't understand what she told me but I was in a hurry to get to the room. Once I went up to the room, we discovered the bathroom sliding door was jammed and needed to be put back on its hinges which two women were struggling to do and we didn't want to break anything. Called the […] front desk, they told me that there was only one man working this weekend and it was a 2 man job and asked me if I would like to be moved to another room??? I told her not really it would be nice if the door would be fixed but what else was I supposed to do. We lug all our stuff, come back down stairs and she just hands me the new key doesn't say I'm so sorry for the inconvenience...nothing. Then, when we wanted to order some food service, there was no food available. Then, when we asked what places nearby deliver they told me to come downstairs to the front desk to get a flier. Complete disaster. Then as I was leaving I wanted to validate my parking and little did I know that the woman had already told me that in her speedy voice the night before and I was not aware at all. I was not asked if I wanted to add parking to my account by her. Then the guy working Sunday morning at check out was able to accommodate me. I informed him that the woman who was working the night before was not helpful in the slightest. He apologized. With that said, I will not be staying here again. It was trendy and cute but all facade. I will definitely try another hotel next time. Aloft Hotel management needs to work on customer service quickly! Mehr

This was a great hotel for me and my friends as we were only in town for a night. It has very modern decor and the apeal of a luxury hotel with out the big price tag. It was enough to make me look to stay with this hotel chain in other cities. Only issue we had was that there was no wash clothes in our room, but a quick call to the front desk solved […] that. Aloft had everything I needed and very convenient. Nice workout room and appreciate the wireless internet connection.

Pro: The staff were very welcoming, always greet you with a smile. The room service is quite decent...it took about 5 minutes to get extra towels delivered to our room. The shuttle to the metro is extremely convenient to go to Washington D.C. ...and it is only a short ride to get there. Con: The swimming pool is much smaller than the picture. It is […] a bit noisy in the early morning due to traffic below( we were on the seventh floor). Other than the restaurants and the harbor, there were not much to do around the hotel area Mehr

The hotel itself was comfortable and the employees were very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was simple but unremarkable. My complaints were that I did not have a drinkable cup of coffee my entire stay and there was a fire alarm during the night however only the floors above us (we were on the 4th) were notified and evacuated! Hard to believe a hotel which is so new can be so rundown. I've stayed here before, but not again. National Harbor is fantastic, try a different hotel within it. You decide, here's my experience: The up side - The room had heat, a bed and I didn't have to sleep in my car. The down side - no light in the bathroom for the toilet or shower. The sliding […] door (to the bathroom) didn't slide. We were able to get it back on track well enough to slide, but with a horrible screeching noise. The TV had no sound. The soap dispenser in the shower didn't dispense. This was all in just one night. When checking out, no manager was "available". Since my stay, I have left 4 voice mails and one email. Managment has neither taken nor returned my calls. Don't be fooled by the high ratings given here because the range is from 1-5 only. This hotel deserves some "zeros" . Plus it does score high for location within National Harbor. You have choices. I suggest you exercise them. What a shame. Mehr

Everything was great except we didnt have a hair dryer in the room and had to request one brought up which took quite awhile and made us late for our dinner. otherwise the area was very impressive and we had a wonderful time. plenty to do in the area too

A good stay but kinda expensive. They charge for everything couldn't get a coffee for cheap.

We were driving from Connecticut, bound for an overnight in Richmond..Alas, a flat tire in Delaware changed our path. I remembered the Aloft in National Harbor and was thrilled to detour to a delightful inn...front desk hospitality, A plus, plus! room was very comfortable and immaculate......grabbed breakfast -a great variety of fruit, etc...love the […] Aloft brand! I spent Christmas time with my husband and daughter at national harbor and we stayed in this very nice hotel. I want to start w/ the lobby, cool style, bar, indoor pool and comfortable outdoor spot, SO NICE!! and then the room, it was super, everything clean except for the carpet (I saw some ugly stains) bathroom, beds and of course the beautiful view, […] we were able to see the georgeous national harbor Christmas tree.. My daughter loved it!! the only thing and not a big deal is that you guys should have microwave in the rooms. I just wanted to say thank you and keep the good work Mehr

I stayed at this hotel the past New Year's Eve. The hotel is very stylish, but the rooms are a little small. The room amenities are adequate, but I did have one complaint. The ironing boards in the room are the chintziest I've ever come across in a hotel in this price range. It was surprising. Overall though, I would stay again - recommended.

This hotel is right on the water with an awesome area surrounding it. The Harbor has multiple restaurants and shopping within seconds of walking distance. There is even a CVS a block away for those items you might have missed! The price was right in line with other hotels in the area, a bit cheaper than some. The hotel was clean and view was outstanding. […] Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. As a weekly traveler, this hotel was a great choice for me. I will be returning on my next trip to DC. I arrived after midnight and the person at the front desk did not know what they were doing. He was barely able to check me in and give me a room. No managers were available to help and they charged a $350 deposit to my credit card even though I had already prepaid for my stay.

1) They won't let you cancel after you make a reservation on hotels.com ....so beware. 2) No breakfast 3) Good location and proximity to the conference center

This hotel is in National Harbor. It is not close to Reagan National and Dulles is even farther away. There is $19 shuttle to DCA, but its almost $50 to or from Dulles. But for us this was cheaper than staying in DC or VA for our meeting. There currently is a lot of freeway construction that can cause delays if you stay here so make sure you give you […] (and your taxi driver) time to get you to DC. Lots of great shopping and eating, and a great hat store. Everyone is very pleasant, gym is well equipped. There are no irons or ironing boards at the hotel--at least not in the King bed rooms. View was of adjacent parking garage but was looking down on it, as I was on a higher floor. All in all, a great 2 night stay, comfy bed, pleasant service, and loungy atmosphere. Mehr

Upon Arrival, I was told that there were no rooms ready because the washer and dryer were broken and they had to send the laundry out. Check in is 3:00 PM and I did not get a room until 6:00 PM. At that time, I was told that they still didnt have towels, but they did get the clean bedding and the towels would be delivered. They never were. The light […] over the mirror in the bathroom didnt work, people around me were yelling until well after midnight and then slamming doors at 6:00 AM. The toilet would kick in and the sound of running water was on and off. They have a nice little area where you can get a snack or drink. Best I can tell, the crumbs and frosting I found on the floor were from the mini muffins you can purchase in that area. Mehr

The hotel is in the center of National Harbor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are replacing the bathroom lights. The overhead light doesn't work in all the rooms. Ketchup the restaurant down on the first floor is very good. The lobster and shrimp risotto is very good.

I would recommend the Aloft to someone staying a few nights as it is convenient to the immediate surrounding area. The hotel is not a "conventional" hotel in that there is no hotel room service as in other "standard" hotels. The Aloft provided a youthful atmosphere. The hotel pool isn't open all day (if that is important to you) but overall we were […] OK with it. The staff seemed very nice. The bed had a plastic cover which seems noisy and wasn't the most comfortable (but I am sure they are trying to avoid a bed bug issue) Bottom line: if you are only using the hotel as a place to sleep and not be your second home away from home then you should be fine. People are pleasant. The hotel tries very hard to be cutting edge and cool, but I think it tries too hard. Rooms are ok - not spacious but then again when I'm in DC I don't want to spend a ton of time in my hotel room. The area surrounding the hotel is filled with stores, restaurants, bars, views. I've stayed their twice. I'd stay here again.

The bathroom lighting is horrible! They claim the installed lighting has been recalled, so they disabled all of them throughout the hotel. Their fix is to place a lamp on the bathroom counter. It was a tough shave every morning! They should uninstall all recalled fixtures and replace them with the correct solution.

Nothing special, entrance and lobby remind of being on a clean factory floor (polished concrete) Room had no TP on bathroom dispenser and the vanity light over sink wasn't working. Desk said it was due to a recall on the light and ALL rooms had to have vanity lights taken out of service. Overall lighting in room poor. Was not worth the cost of the  […] room. Mehr
