It was an incredible hotel and the whole experience was outstanding with the exception that we were placed in a room directly over the kitchen or something, and being that we have 3 kids(2 are babies), it made going to sleep a bit of a challenge when we heard what sounded like baseball bats clinging every 45 seconds or so. After being woken up by the […] noise several times I went down to the front desk and they did offer to move us to a different room. But when the whole family is sleeping and you've already settled into a room, getting everyone up and changing rooms isn't convenient either. A credit on the rate would have been the acceptable thing to do in my honest opinion. Everything else was first class, but that put a real damper on the sleep that night. Mehr

Location couldnt be better...beach across the road, many restaurants, shops close walking distance. Hotel staff very courteous and helpful. We upgraded to a seaview room and it was well worth it. Great Hotel walking distance to main street, beach, shopping. I have stayed at the Hyatt and and Marriott down the street and this is by far a superior hotel at half the price (for a couple without kids looking for a lot of options within walking distance). We did an overnight trip to get away and relax, we live very close to this hotel. We were very disappointed with our so called suite. Basically they took a good sized room stuck a dividing wall in the middle so they could call it a suite, the wall makes the room very awkward. We were expecting a balcony that we could sit outside and relax overlooking […] the view however it is standing room only, they don't even have chairs to sit on. The best amenity in the room is the bathroom. There is a very large bathtub which was very nice however they didn't go the extra to add jets to the tub. The restaurant service was horrible, slow, food was just okay - not worth the hour wait for sure. We even had to get up and get our own tea / water refill. When we tried to pay the waitress tried to charge us 18% tip for people that joined us at the end of our meal but were not eating. For the price of this hotel, I would recommend the Hilton or Hyatt in HB I have stayed at both and they are much nicer and guest friendly. Mehr

I wish we had more time. The room was really well prices and super nice. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Overall we really liked it and would definitely go back. The only "bad" thing was that everything shuts down in Huntington so early!

Great overall hotel! Very modern, sleek and comfortable. No pool, but we had a great view. Service was excellent and very accommodating. Our only complaint was the neighborhood seemed to have a lot of bar hoppers in the middle of the day doing nothing with a few scary homeless people here and there. I booked this hotel just to get away for the night and spend the day walking around main st and getting lunch. We had never stayed here before but wanted to try something new and be close to the beach. I was pleasantly suprised at how nice and how close to everything it was. We were so happy to have found this hotel! What a surprise that it was so pet friendly as well. We had been looking at the Best Western down the street but for a better price and MUCH BETTER service, we found Shorebreak and were happy to stay there. Awesome hotel especially for last minute. Paid $329 for a peek ocean view. The hotel is pet friendly so our 10 lb dog loved the hotel as well, The complementary wine hour was great too. The Shorebreak could not be cleaner.

Perfect location, beautiful funky little hotel, great size comfortable rooms. Wifi didn't work in our room but staff took the charge straight off our bill when we explained. Free parking as residential area 2 streets away so no need for valet parking which the staff explained. The hotel is just step from the Huntington Pier and around lots of shopping and restaurants. The location can't be beat. The price point was also quite affordable. The accommodations were mixed, however. Our room was not fully cleaned when we checked in; the next day, it was better. The Hotel was excellent - very clean! I would use this hotel again and would recommend to friends. I was so impressed, I will check out their other locations (from this hotel chain). The neighborhood was "chill" making it a perfect vacay!

Our third or fourth stay, and it's always great. Relaxed but professional staff, ocean-view suites are phenomenal (ask about an upgrade when you check in, if they have something they might give you a deal), great location for restaurants, beach, etc. Zimzala restaurant is fantastic and has great happy hour. We enjoyed our stay at the Shorebreak. The location provides immediate access to all the Huntington Beach events and nightlife. The hotel does a great job welcoming you and your pet. It's hard to describe the hotel as it seems a cross between a surfer hotel and an upscale hotel. Clientele ranged from young to old. Hotel serves a wine reception each […] afternoon, has great orange saltwater taffy available, and doggy treats. The Zimzala restaurant served decent food and has 2 happy hours. Housekeeping did okay with keeping the room clean but lacked in consistently providing toiletries and towels. The front desk personnel were always very courteous and when contacted for additional towels or toiletries, they were prompt (within 10 minutes) to deliver each and every time. I didn't feel the valet rates were outrageous but I can see where people wouldn't share this view. I'm just used to high rates in Chicago. Mehr

This hotel is by far one of the best places I've stayed: the rooms are great and the grounds are lovely. There is a free wine reception (2 glasses per guest). It's right in the centre of Huntington Beach - quite expensive, unless you can get an early booking deal! I would definitely stay again (but I couldn't afford full price!)

This is my favorite hotel in area - there is just a great vibe here. Casual, but top notch service, outstanding restaurant, the best location in Huntington Beach (just a block from the Pier and Main Street). The staff is truly professional. This isn't a "fancy" place - think boutique with a California twist.

Stayed at the Shorebreak for 2 nights and enjoyed everything about it. The only thing I would change is the beds. Although comfortable they were only doubles and I'm used to sleeping on a queen or larger. The location of the hotel to the beach was fantastic and I would stay here again in a second.

Everything about Shorebreak was fabulous. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel, even though in the heart of Huntington Beach, was very quiet. Location was fantastic. We valeted our car at the hotel, and didn't need it for 2 days because everything is within walking distance. Everyone made us feel welcome and were so helpful.

I was very satisfyed with the Hotel the only down side was the overpriced parking anywhere in Hunting Beach. I believe it was $29 a day for valet. Other than that there was great food, great location and enjoyed my stay would definatly come back.
