Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean Club - San Miguel de Abona

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Santa Barbara and as many previous reviews state it was a superb place. The reception staff were very attentive and pleasent to speak to. It is a large complex and it can be a fair walk to your appartment but its definately worth it. The appartments are spotless. The maid service comes every second day which […] is fine. The appartments are well fitted out with a fully fitted kitchen area inc dishwasher. In the lounge there is a large table and chairs and a bed/settee and chairs and there's a flat screen tv and dvd player with full range of channels. A spacious seperate bedroom and a large bathroom. Overall the appartment is very large and spacious. As previous comments said it is a bit remote from the popular tourist resorts but thats pays dividends as its in a lovely quite resort. There's an abundance of local restaraunts and supermarkets and the hotel has a well stocked shop on the lower level. If you are arriving by car there is secure underground car park at a couple of euro's per night. Airport is only 10 minute drive away but minimal aircraft noise. Some earlier reviews commented on the smell af a nearby sewrage works, well only if you stand right next to it and the wind is blowing from that direction can you maybe get a very slight wiff but other than that you wont notice it. This is a excellent value for money apparthotel and cant rate it highly enough. Would not hesitate to stay here again when returning to Tenerife. Mehr

When we arrived at the hotel they didnt have a booking for us so we had to wait around until the hotel made several phone calls. I had taken the booking confimation but the hotel would not accept this. When you have travelled for 7 hours you just want to go to your room and not have the hassle waiting to see if you do have a room.

excellent hotel with great facilities. Only downside was sofa bed which was only for young children.

Much better quality than expected, the only negative was the sofa bed which could only be used for children. Lovely time and staff excellent.

This is a beautiful hotel with good amenties and scenery but unfortunately it is too quiet. If we were staying in the hotel for a long time you would need to hire a car. The hotel is too isolated. When your are used to Adeji this hotel would not be sutiable

We visited during the christmas period and was the best resort we have ever stayed. Extraordinary customer service and the room was extremely clean and tidy with Housekeeping services everyday to your roon. I would rate this close to 5 star as the overall experience was simply fantastic. An Ideal family resort if you have Kids .. I just could keep going […] on writing ! Mehr

Nice hotel situated by the ocean, Close to Tenerife South Airport. Rooms are spacious, clean and all the equipment in the room are new. Pool area is perfect. Staff are kind and helpful.

Nice hotel. Kept clean. Great room with an ocean view. Need an update. Safe didn't work but wasn't a big deal for me. Grocery store in basement very convenient. San Miguel on the other hand is very quiet. Really not much to do. A lot of half finished buildings and the smell of raw sewage in the area can be overwhelming. Wifi if you want it is expensive. […] There ar a couple restaurants in the area that offer free wifi. Go there if needed. Mehr

Good location, friendly staff, and modern apartments close to the ocean and the golf courses. In addition, the fact that there was a grocery shop in the hotel itself with freshly baked bread was a definate plus.

This resort is fantastic situated away from the crowds in town but still close enough to get to.The resort has had a recent refurbishment so the rooms are up to date flat screen tv and a dvd provided also a dishwasher.We booked one night through hotels.com and had another 7 days with our timeshare and they let us check in early and stay in the same […] aparment for the 8 days really surprised they let us do that.The hotel Restaurant Little Italy is good would recommend the sea food paella. Many other good restaurants in the area to suit all budgets.There is an Iceland and Lidl close to the motorway but you will need a car to get there.The resort is only 2.6KM from the airport so you do get aircraft coming over at various times of the day but did not bother us too much.I stayed in las Americas last year and after staying here will be definately thinking about going back again.Also loads of parking if you intend hiring a car which I would recommend if you want to go up Teide and do the water parks a lot cheaper than doing the excursions. This is the fourth time in two years to the SBGOC and again it didnt dissappoint. Two bed appartment slightly smaller than the last time, but perfectly adequate and very clean. Used all the facilities and noted that all the gym equipment had been replaced and is of a high quality. The main restuarant upstairs is excellent with a varied and reasonably […] priced menu. The hotel is around 1KM from the main San Blas commercial centre, but there are plently of restaurants nearby offering tastes for all palates. The Aberdeen Steakhouse about 400 yards aways offers a superb 3 course meal for 7.99 with a huge variety of meals or alternative choices from the main menu. Superb. Recommended hotel and restuarants and only 5 minutes from the airport ( very rarely hear aircraft either) Mehr

The hotel was lovely, we had room 765 and it has a very large separate bedroom, although the standard bedroom is big enough anyway. The kitchen was very well equipped, with a kettle, toaster, microwave, full cooker, full cutlery set, coffee maker, glasses, plates cups etc. Full fridge and freezer is handy. Restaurant is quite good value and the food […] is lovely. Halp board is 14.50 euros per adult and includes and includes a full breakfast and a 2-course dinner in the evening. Although in the local area there is a fine Irish bar doing food from 6 euros per meal. Also an Aberdeen steakhouse doing great value fantastic food. Full brekkie inc. tea/toast 3 euros, 3 course evening meal inc steaks, prawn cocktails, etc Thought portions here would have been smaller given its a cheap set menu but they were huge and very filling. Highly recommend this restaurant, and its less than a 2 minute walk from the hotel. There are many good/great points to this hotel and I could go on for ever about them. I must point out a small number of small items, there is a water treatment/sewage plant on the east of the hotel. No smell in the hotel, but if you walk in that direction out of the hotel, you will get the pong. The area is very quite. There is a small marina about 3 minute walk away and this is nice. There are about 6 restaurants and another 6-8 convenience/souvenier shops within a 5 minute walk. There is a small village about 10 minute walk east and there are a few more shops/restaurants here, but not to many. There is a local scheduled bus service from the hotel area to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. Fare is about 4 euros return for an adult. We got a shared shuttle transfer and this cost 5 euros per person each way, about half the cost of a taxi. My last "not-so-good" point is that the kids pool would not be suitable for kids under the age of about 5. The shallowest part of the pool is 0.8m about 28" which may be too deep for really young children. As for the Timeshare Mehr

this hotel was amazing! far more what i expected! the room was lovely, clean, it was just fabulous! the staff was very helpful! they really made sure you were taken care of and helped plan your stay with the attractions and excursions they had to offer! the staff spoke english and spanish which was very helpful! i wish the hotel had beach access, but […] other beaches weren't too far away (10km from medano beach) i would definitely stay here again adn recommend this to everyone! We stayed at this resort for a month, 2 weeks as a time share exchange, 2 weeks as a time share getaway, and 3 nights as a hotel guest. Our time share accommodations were excellent, but once we moved into the hotel suite for the last 3 nights, things most definitely went down hill. The room size was adequate for 2 people, however, there were considerable […] differences in the accommodations. We no longer had a king size bed, but were downsized to a small double bed with a very bad mattress, and it had thing springs that squeaked really loud every time we moved. The microwave either did not cook, or it was so hot that the food burned. The coffee maker spewed the coffee all over the counter top, floors and walls, so we had no coffee the last 3 days. The shower head was so bad that it sprayed water all over the bathroom, but very little where it was supposed to be going. The nice blow dryer in the time share rooms was replaced with a hose hanging on the wall that was similar to a vacuum cleaner hose. It had one heat setting (low), and one speed (low). Most rooms had to A/C, and the overhead fans in the hotel room were all set too low with the chains removed. As far as the resort goes, we would go back again, but not as a hotel guest. The one deterrent is that this hotel/resort is located right next door to the sewage treatment plant, so the odor could at times be offensive. We've visited Spain before, so we knew to expect sewage odors, and besides, the wonderful ocean views made up for that problem. We had a great vacation for the first 4 weeks, just very disappointed in the hotel accommodations for our last 3 nights. Tenerife is a great place, so highly recommended. Mehr

La única queja que tengo es que nunca pasaron a limpiar el apartamento. Estuvimos en un studio por 4 días. Por lo demás estuvo magnífico.

Veldig bra standard, men med noen haker. Med mindre du skal tilbringe hele ferien på golfbanen like ved, så ligger hotellet veldig usentralt. Sengene var utrolig harde og det luktet kloakk utenfor på nordøst-siden av hotellet. Omgivelsene ved bassenget var preget av en meget høylydt klovn med en irriterende fløyte. Han holdt det gående nesten hele uken. […] Sett bort i fra dette så var hotellet veldig bra. Hyggelig personell, rent, pent og veldig god service. Mehr

Yderst fornuftigt hotellejlighedskompleks til prisen. m.god komfort, hjælpsomme og smilende ansatte. Med den rigtige beliggenhed, lækkert poolmiljø og veludstyrede lejligheder med fin standard og for vores vedkommende fin udsigt over Atlanterhavet og ti minutter fra lufthavnen. Børnevenligt med gode aktiviteter, men ikke velegnet for gangbesværede.

Шикарный номер, шикарная кровать. Практически полностью отсутствует Wi-Fi, в некоторых местах нет даже мобильной связи. Можно отдыхать полностью отключившись от внешнего мира.

Dejlig stor lejlighed og meget venligt personle, som hjælper med alting Meget smukt sted, men det blæser mere end i badebyerne, og man kan ikke bade i havet pga. de store sten. Hotellet er meget skønt på alle mulige måder

Fint hotel. Rigtig pæne og meget rene værelser med alt hvad man har brug for. Området var bare lidt kedeligt.

Vi hadde ei uke på hotellet i januar. Personalet var hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Hotellet ligger nær flyplassen, men vi ble alldri forstyrret av fly, når vi var på hotellet. Vi hadde leid bil hele uken, så beliggenheten var ikke noe problem for oss. Bussen gikk også ikke langt fra hotellet. Rengjøringen var bra, men det var bare rengjøring to ganger iløpet […] av uken. (Det var standard når en ikke var medlem?) Det var mange restauranter i gå avstand. Mehr

Estaba muy bien, y por el precio, la calidad era excelente, creo que estaba tan barato porque fuimos en noviembre, era digno de ser considerado 5 estrellas, un apartamento con una gran cama, un gran sofá, detalles de jabones en la habitación, un olor estupendo... y el personal realmente amable, os lo recomiendo.

Ett bra hotell med fina rum och fint poolområde. Bra, trevlig personal. Kvällsunderhållning som är underhållande men vars lokaler kunde varit bättre. Det bästa med hotellet var tillgången till spa-avdelningen där man fick tillgång till en Jacuzzi som var perfekt för 2 personer. Vi bodde i en "villa" som enbart städades 2 gånger under vår vistelse. […] Den största nackdelen var väl området för oss. Vi tyckte det var svårt att hitta bra restauranger. Alla restauranger verkade ha en väldigt stor meny vilket gjorde att smaken ej stod i fokus. Mycket priskonkurrens och det stora utbudet av olika rätter gjorde att kvalitén på maten drabbades. Två restauranger kan vi rekommendera dock. Volcanic Islands och kinarestaurangen Golden Bay. Kinarestaurangen blev en stor succé hos oss och under vår vecka på Santa Barbara åt vi där 3 gånger och blev aldrig besvikna. Bra restaurang! Mehr

vi boede her en uge i januar 2012. her var meget fint og dejligt poolområde. eneste minus synes vi var hotellets restaurant, hvor maden ikke var i top. Personalet var meget venlige og hotellets supermarked havde alt hvad man skulle bruge til en god pris. Hotellet ligger også tæt på lufthavnen så det er nemt at komme frem og tilbage, dog sker der ikke […] så meget i byen omkring hotellet men der er ikke langt til større byer med mere liv. Mehr

smuk udsigt, meget serviceminded personale,hver formiddag turistguider på hotellet også disse var meget hjælpsomme og venlige.Køkken fuldt udstyret hvis man er til at lave sin egen mad. Fint hotell med rymliga rum och sköna sängar. Köksdelen över förväntan, med mycket utrustning bl.a diskmaskin. Dessvärre ett stort minus för ett så fint och nyrustat hotell att det inte fanns internetkoppling på rummen. Vi fick sitta i foajen tillsammans med flera andra internetanvändare och bl.a ringa privata samtal via skype. Dessutom dyr Wifi-anslutning. […] Kan dock rekommenderas då det är en fantastisk utsikt mot havet. Besvärades inte av att hotellet låg nära flygplatsen. Mehr

Dejligt hotel i roligt område velegnet for solferie. Mange daseområder på hotellests område og gode spisemuligheder på hotellet og i umiddelbar nærhed. Jeg kommer igen så snart som muligt.......

Адекватный вежливый персонал на ресепшн.У подруги был семейный номер, спальня и комната. А мне одной досталась вилла(примерно 80кв.м), это спальня, большая гостиная с совмещенной кухней и балконом и видом на океан.Мебель частично не новая, но в отличном состоянии.Везде чисто.Большой многоуровневый отель с различными уличными переходами, лестницами, […] лифтами.Два больших открытых бассейна.За оградой сразу дорожка вдоль океана, можно ходить на дальние пляжи, просто вечером прогуливаться до прибрежных ресторанов.Мы не любители лежать у бассейна,сразу у отеля пляж каменный, купаться можно, но если волны с детьми не очень. Каждый день ходили в дикие бухты плавать и загорать. Когда надоедали рестораны, готовили в номере, для этого все условия.Прямо в отеле есть магазин, а за свежими креветками и дорадой можно съездить в супермаркет Mercadona(10 мин).Вобщем твердая четверка. Lækkert hotel i rolige omgivelser direkte til havet. Vores værelse lå dog ud til vejen, hvilket medførte en del støj - også når rengøringspersonalet kørte med deres vogne tidligt om morgenen. generelt er det et lækkert hotel, men sørg for at få et værelse væk fra vejen.

Ihanteellinen sijainti: lentokentältä (Sur) vain 10 min taksilla, merenäärellä, paljon ruokapaikkoja kävelymatkan päässä, rauhallinen hotelli. Ystävällinen, kielitaitoinen ja avulias henkilökunta. Siisti huone, joka sopi hyvin myös lapsiperheille. Iso allasalue, jossa lapsille […] oma lämmitetty allas. Vähän suomalaisia ja ruotsalaisia, pääosin brittejä mutta nekin vanhempia tai lapsiperheitä. Fint hotell på sidan av de stora turistorterna, med hyrbil var det ett perfekt läge för den som vill ha lugnet på kvällarna men kunna åka till straden och sevärdheterna på dagen. Rummen var bra utrustade, vår hade till och med egen diskmaskin. Städningen var dock under all kritik, de flesta dagar tömdes endast papperskorgen. Lækkert hotel med virkelig flot udsigt! Området hotellet ligger i er dog ikke særligt hyggeligt, men ligger i en by kun fyldt med hoteller. Det er dog perfekt hvis man bare ønsker afslapning inden for hotellets mure.
