The hotel could not have been in a more convenient position, so close to Kings Cross. We received a warm welcome and were able to leave our luggage at reception before checking in and after checking out. This made our short stay in London more manageable. The breakfast was basic. Very good value for a London stopover.

but if backpack, it'll be fine, host is nice, room is clean

A small room, but had everything I needed. Very convenient to St. Pancras / King's Cross station. Very friendly staff. Can't comment on the breakfast - I didn't bother to get up in time for it!

well located, clean and very friendly staff. comfort moderate, very hot and small room, small double bed, and noisy due to pigeons in the inner yard located 5 mn from St Pancras, so perfect to take Eurostar

We stayed for 3 nights at Macdonald and it was all in all a good stay. The hotel's fairly cheap, very good location with Kings cross just 2 minutes away where you'll find buses and the underground. Breakfast was the usual with toast, tea, cereals and English breakfast if you wanted. We stayed downstairs so during the nights we heard the underground, […] however it really wasn't a problem for us. The beds were very hard indeed, you could have been sleeping on an air mattress! Besides the hard beds the room was small but clean. The staff was polite and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to other travellers! Mehr

The room was small, but it was cleaned well every day, and the bed was comfortable. It is a while since I have come across a 4 foot wide double bed!! Breakfast was freshly prepared and adequate. The MacDonald is very typical of this type of accommodation in London within this price range. I forgive these minor shortcomings as the room had en-suite facilities. + trevlig personal även om vi fick vänta läge på att bli insläppta när vi skulle checka in. + närheten till tunnelbana och järnvägsstationen Kingscross,St. Pancreas - små rum , obekväma sängar, tråkig frukost med få bord så man kunde få vänta länge för en ledig plats.

Hôtel simple, mais fonctionnel et très propre. Personnel accueillant. Bon petit déjeuner anglais. Transports en commun à proximité.

c'est la 2eme fois que je séjourne dans cet hotel.le confort est rudimentaire, lavabo dans la chambre et sanitaires sur le palier, mais tout est tres propre (chambres -wc-,salle d'eau). l’accueil est tres sympathique. on nous a garder nos valises le dernier jour en attendant notre depart. au petit dej, choix entre un dejeuner anglais ou alors plus traditionnel. […] tout est bon. l'hotel est tres bien situé, à 2 pas d'une grande station de metro qui dessert plusieurs lignes. resto et fast food à coté egalement. bref, je conseil vivement cet hotel si vous compter passer la majeur partie de votre sejour à londres pour visiter la ville et rentrer a l'hotel pour vous reposer. Vicinissima alla stazione di King's Cross, a 25' di cammino dalla bellissima Camden Town. Stanze un pochino "ristrette", ma vanno bene come base d'appoggio. Ottima la colazione (potete chiedere anche il bis) e poi servizio wi-fi gratuito!!!! ;-)

Jäkligt bra läge. Rummen helt okej om man bara hade tänkt sova där. Jag var där tors-söndag. Sov sammanlagt 13-14 timmar. Haha. Någon minut till tunnelbanan där nästan alla linjer går igenom.

Perfekt läge! Mycket billigt! Absolut prisvärt. Tyvärr delad dusch/toalett där det är svårt att reglera varmvatten och rummen är små. Detta var inget som störde oss, 3 tjejer i London för att fira nyår och åka runt på sightseeing eftersom vi knappt vistades på hotellet. Det ligger precis vid Kings Cross St Pancras station vilket ha förbindelser till […] i princip allt man vill se i centrum både med tåg, tunnelbana och bussar. Personalen var trevlig och hjälpsam. Frukost serveras kl 7-9 vilket för oss var svårt att hinna med då sightseeing tar mycket energi. Vi åt en morgon och den var helt ok. Om man inte har höga krav på ett hotell utan vill ha något billigt och centralt så är MacDonald helt rätt. Mehr

Vi havde en rigtig dejligt ophold på MacDonald hotel. Morgenmaden var som forventet, ikke fantastisk men okay. Sengene bar præg af de har været brugt en del og trængte til en udskiftning. Selve hotellet er ældre, men pænt og velligeholdt. Det ligger super centralt, kun 2 minutters gang fra kings cross station/ st. pancras. Det er et venligt og hjælpsomt […] personale. Dog havde vi ikke held til at komme på det trådløse internet, da signalet var for dårligt. Mehr

Etter å ha lest de andre anmeldelsene hadde jeg kanskje litt for høye forventninger. Personalet er veldig hyggelig. Rommet var veldig lite. Toalett og dusj er felles med resten av etasjen og du må ut i gangen for å nå disse fasilitetene. Det funker greit for å bare sove, men er ikke så mye mer enn det heller. Kontaktene leverte ikke nok strøm til at […] jeg fikk ladet mac'en min og det trådløse internettet var meget utstablit og tregt Mehr

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price. The location (right next to King's Cross station) was great, because most tube-lines stop a this station, so it is easy to get around the city.

Hotel muito bem localizado, próximo à estação de trem/metro King Cross - Saint Pancras. A apenas uma estação de metro do British Museum. Bem limpo e silencioso. Recomendo.

Ligger ca 3 minuter från King Cross Station (som har anslutning till och från Londons tre flygplatser) samt till majoriteten av Londons alla Undergorund linjer. Personalen var mycket hjälpsam, speciellt med förvaring av bagage då utcheckning skedde vid 12.00 och vårt flyg inte gick förrän vid 21.00. Rent och fräscht och inget problem med att dela badrum, […] då man endast var tre rum på en toa/dusch. Rekommenderas varmt. Mehr

Bien situado. Habitación muy muy pequeña pero limpia. Buenas camas. Muy bien situado. Tiendas de alimentacion en los alrededores. OJO la habitacion tiene lavabo pero no tiene ni inodoro ni ducha.

A good B&B(hotel), clean room, good service and a plus for the loation near by Kings Cross station.

Prisvärt centralt hotell. Utmärkt trebäddsrum. Vi är jättenöjda. Allt var bra utom sängarna och duscharna. Sängarna var hårda och det fanns för lite kallvatten i duscharna så vattentemperaturen växlade blixtsnabbt mellan varmt och skållhett.

Prisvärt hotell, kanonbra läge och rejäl frukost! Kan hända att sängen var lite hård, och duschen lite ofräsch, men det störde varken mig eller mitt sällskap då vi endast var där för att sova.Ligger tre minuter promenadväg från King's cross vilket innebär att det är fruktansvärt lätt att åka runt hela London med tunnelbana/buss. För mig väger det tyngre […] än mjuka sängar! MacDonald är ett ställe jag verkligen rekommenderar för de som inte vill slänga ut en förmögenhet på ett bra hotell! The staff were very nice and helpful, the beds were clean, we had showers and a toilet right outside our door, and we could get almost anything we wanted for breakfast. (You just have to ask nicely!) ;) My boyfriend and I had booked the last available room, which had twin beds. Since it's nice to sleep together, and since it was a little cold beneath […] the window (where my bed was), we moved our beds together. The next day they'd fixed it for us, and made us a "real" double bed. With new sheets and a good blanket. The small bad things about the hotel; the shower was real ugly, didn't wanna go near the curtains. They'd been hanging there for so long, they'd actually started to smell bad. So some new curtains wouldn't be bad ;) The beds were very hard, and the pillow thin. But I'm certain they'll be glad to give you another one if you ask them. There was no safety deposit box in the hotel, but he said he'd be glad to keep things behind the desk if we needed it. There was free internet, you just need to ask for a password. There was also a waterboiler in the room, with teas & instant coffees. It was nice and quiet. Location was great, right next to King's Cross, and it took us merely 15minutes to walk over to Camden. Luggage could be stored downstairs before leaving. Mehr

I really want to write a positive review here (there were so many others after all) - because the hotel manager was nice and the location was great. But the truth is, we really wish we'd listened to the one bad review and shelled out a few extra pounds for something better. We don't normally have anything against dated decor. But dated bedding, with […] long black hair intertwined (and goodness knows what else) into that wooly blanket straight out of 1975, together with hair on the soap in the bathroom... really was not the best first impression. Combine that with a room so small (and here again - we normally have zero issue with room size - it's only for sleeping in after all) but in this case so small that we could only have one (small) suitcase open at a time. The bed was at best a 1.5 person's bed (we both had to roll over if one of us needed to) - and though we're not large people - we found it terribly cramped. On top of that (and probably the worst part) - the bed had so little support that we both hobbled around London by the 3rd and 4th day with bad backs (we're in our mid-30's). My back's still out, and we've been home about 4 days now. We dreaded going back to the hotel to sleep, and while we laughed at the state of the bed and ourselves - feel that we'd have been better off with a place a bit further out, but better quality.
