Das Hotel kann ich niemanden empfehlen denn es liegt in mitten eines Armenviertel und ist mit einer Mauer umgeben das man sich vorkommt wie im Hochsicherheitstrakt. Das nächste die Zimmer sind einigermaßen sauber aber im Bad läst es an Hygiene mangeln. Die Matratzen auf den Betten fühlen sich wie Sandsäcke an also nichts für Leute mit Rückenproblemen. […] Dann der Strand wo ist der Strand von dem Hotel na 15 min mit dem Auto and einem anderen Teil der Insel.Und so was nennt sich Strandhotel. The Alta is set in the country side away from the ocean. It has pleasant gardens and a pool. It is quiet except when the planes fly overhead and if there are noisy guests. On arriving, I was initially a disappointed. The resort and buildings were a bit dated and tired, but it was all very clean. It was much smaller the the website suggests and whilst there was plenty of greenery, there were no real gardens to speak of. Our first room was unacceptable. We had a basic room but at the price, we really expected better - […] lights and an old TV that didn't work & the bed and sheets were horrible. However, we were immediately moved to a very acceptable room. During our 10 day stay, the place did grow on us. Although tired and dated, it was kept clean. The staff were very attentive and the food was good. The pool was fine and never too busy. Breakfasts were good, but as with all buffets, but get there early. The bar closed too early around 10.30 pm leaving only a 24 hour snack shop for beers and soft drinks. Their description 'wondrous, mystical gardens' is ambitious. Don't expect anything too special. The resort hosts functions and seminars, mostly daytime, and music was too loud. Getting about could be a problem for those not familiar with the area and local transport. The resort is located on Cordova and is a 20 minute ride to Lapu Lapu & 45 minutes to Cebu City. There's nothing of interest within walking distance. Like so many places, it doesn't live up to the pictures etc on the website. But we came to enjoy the place and we would go back. We always felt safe and secure. I stayed at this resort for just over two weeks, which I think was a bit too long to stay in one place. Nevertheless, I just want to say that the staff are fantastic and will go to great lengths to help you. I thought the architecture of the buildings was great as well, especially the Bahamas rooms, which is where I stayed. All around the resort is […] beautiful, with a great variety of foliage. The Altabay at the back of the resort provides a pretty nice view as well. The one negative I had with this resort was the wifi connection. It is slow! I waited and waited for things to load, which caused quite a bit of frustration. Also, I looked forward to seeing the monkeys they had advertised as having, but I later learned that they had become ill, and were required to be moved to a sophisticated zoo. All in all, I think Alta is a beautiful place. I went to Portofino Beach Resort to use their beach one day (since Alta doesn't have one) and it is nowhere near as beautiful as Alta Cebu. The staff is very friendly, and you can easily relax and enjoy the sun. You have no beach but there is a free shuttle and all the beaches on Cebu seemed to be privately owned and you pay to use them. Alta is a place with a difference and character. It's a delightful oasis just right for relaxing. Laid out almost like a village with wooden houses in a verdant tropical forest surroundings -so refreshing after cement and gloss ghettos. The focal point is the pool area with all the important amenities and air-conditioned restaurant. There's plenty to […] do if you want it, Check out the rafting! It's odd that some reviewers complain there is no beach when Alta had never claimed one! However, they offer a free shuttle to the beach and shopping mall. Taxis are a good alternative and are cheap, ($7 to the airport#. Book at least an hour ahead. The rooms are tastefully decorated, with comfortable big beds, TV and Internet, etc. Sometimes the internet is slow #low-end 3G), but that's not Alta's fault, since the telcos don't invest in modern infrastructure anywhere. The service is excellent with a genuinesmile and desire to be attentive. What sets Alta apart is that it is family-owned and operated. Larry, the American owner makes the effort to meet every guest and is always anxious to know how he and his staff he can make your stay enjoyable. In summary, Alta is ideal for couples seeking seclusion, families with young children and also business people. But if you want high energy days and nights, this is not for you. The Filipino architecture and the warmth of the staff make this a top notch family resort. There are plenty of games and activities for all ages. The absence of a beach area, while perhaps disappointing to families with younger children, is quite easily overlooked as the pool offers opportunity to bask in the warmth of the tropical sun. The grounds are well maintained and informative information of the local fauna and animal species is well placed. An ideal spot for a romantic get-away, not too far removed from the city and with available tours and motorcycle rentals is a great launching ground for your Philippine Experience. A very reasonably priced resort if you want a quiet lazy time with your partner, breakfast was included in the price and we had a wonderful relaxing time there. This is a very interesting place. A 3.5 star place in Cebu with rates that are very reasonable. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and attentive. It's more than just a hotel but keep in mind it's landlocked and located off the beaten path. Takes about 25min to the airport and about 40min to Cebu center. For those that don't mind the […] commute (the taxis are cheap enough in Cebu) it's a great place to stay. That said, it's going to cost you 400p each way every time you go to or from the resort. The pool and grounds are very nice. The food at the restaurant was fantastic but do expect to wait for upwards of 1 hour for just about anything you order. Briefly - staff, as always in Philippines, very welcoming, polite, kind and hospitable. The hotel seems, however, seriously mismanaged. Expect dirty pool, expensive little restaurant, local TV stations only, erratic internet at best. The electric heater in the shower was not grounded properly, causing mild electric shocks. The moment you leave the room and take your key out of the wall socket, the aircondition goes off. That means +45 Celcius in the room when you are back, and at least an hour to cool it to 30. My two requests for the manager to contact me have been ignored. Location - remote, unsafe area on Lapulapu. Expect long taxi traveling time due to heavy traffic. Moved to Movenpick, where the price was twice as expensive but the quality of stay tenfold higher. If you are in Cebu to relax, stay away from the Alta place. Mehr

I stayed at ALTA for 5 nights, the purpose of my visit was leisure and recreational scuba diving. I was impressed with the service I received upon arriving to the hotel with prompt check-in service, welcome drinks, and help to my room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and decor was well- mismatched in an island-vibe sort of […] style. It felt like a very well maintained cottage. There was a laminated info sheet on the door detailing a few services and important information but I thought a small book or binder with hotel info would have been helpful and it could have included a menu for in-room dining. The room was promptly cleaned everyday and a very generous towel-changing service. I was very impressed in this regard as well as providing free drinking water on request. The hotel food was top notch which was welcomed as the surrounding area does not offer much close by for alternate eat-out places. I would say the food was the best part of my stay. The food is also very very fairly priced and they can cater the menu to your taste/likes/dislikes quite easily. The pool was fine , a bit small when there are children playing. The outdoor jacuzzi seemed tempting until I realized it was the same temperature as the pool. Internet was available throughout the resort without any problems as was fast enough to support basic email, web-browsing functions. Spa service was good- and they were able to fit me in very promptly. My service I received was professional and one of the better massages I have had. I was a little surprised after my massage to receive a home-made envelope written on in coloured highlither stating "tip envelope." I left a tip with no thought to it as my service was good- but I was also charged a service charge on my bill. It seemed as though this may not have been standard practice? My only complaint really about my stay is the delay at the front desk that seems to happen each night after dinner when the waitress has to leave the Mehr

I spent 8 days at Alta Cebu Resort and found it to be a quaint yet elegant little resort. I did a good bit of research prior to my trip looking for the perfect place to stay. I could have gone to one of the upscal hotels that offered comparable, perhaps even better amenities, but that was not what I was looking for, I just wanted to have a quiet time […] with my fiancee', and that is exactly what we experienced. At Alta Cebu Resort, the staff are genuinely determined to make sure you are as comfortable as possible, and will go out of their way within reason to make sure of it. One example worth mentioning is when I lost my phone in a taxi, the hotel security had detailed record of the taxi company, the taxi number, as well as the driver's name. The front desk spent time over the following days making calls trying to track my phone down for me. One of the staff, Oliver, actually took time on his day off to contact his friend with the police to see if he could recover my phone. I also had the pleasure of sitting and visiting with Larry the owner of the resort, and shared some ideas with him to make the place more compelling, and he was very open and interested in my comments. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort, but it is a nichy sort of place that caters to a specific vibe, and just happened to be exactly what I was looking for. Having had surgery in Manila, I was wanting a relaxing getaway in a friendly environment, and ALTA Resort in Cebu certainly provided it. Although out of the way from the airport, a call to the hotel resulted in a quick and very welcoming pick-up. On arrival, I was greeted with a refreshing drink and taken to my comfortable and aesthetically pleasing […] room. Although at first not being allowed to bring in food may seem a little harsh, the cleanliness of the inviting gardens and walkways soon makes you appreciate this guideline. It is like an exotic oasis after Manila and when I return, I will be very tempted to spend most of my time just enjoying the pool within the grounds. This time, unable to swim, I booked a couple of local trips which were excellent in organisation, cost, and friendliness of the driver / guide. Not only was delicious food provided in a beautiful setting at the hotel, I was introduced to the area's fresh and simply yummy dishes at local dining places. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful, and interacted with me as a valued guest and as a welcome person. Locally handcrafted jewellery of shells and coral made wonderful keepsakes for me and presents for friends. If your looking for a resort on the beach then this is not for you. Its a decent place to stay for the money. The staff is very friendly. The week we stayed the had just lost their chef so the food was pretty bad. They say they have a jacuzzi but it is not a jacuzzi.

It was my frist trip to the Philippines. I was coming to meet my fiance for the first time. Her and i spent several weeks reading reviews for our most anticipated meeting. We chose this hotel base only on the reviews written. Others were too expensive (over price), not good location, and bad reviews, specially on the staff. I am afraid of air travel,so […] getting there was an experience on itself. Beeing on a foreign country and not knowing the language, can be very intimidating. I was, but when I met my future wife I was content:but when I got to Alta , all intimidation went out the window. That's when my dream vacation started. I felt as I had been forgiving of my sin's and been allowed back to "The garden of Eden". This is a magical place, that will indulged you with their friendly staff, and flora surroundings. From the maintenance Jerome, to a relaxing massge with Ada, to the friendly ladies at the front desk ( eden,edna, blonde lady-sorry forgot your name ), to Marcos,the bartender, always keeping your drink full ( in my case Rum and Coke), to the GM, to the owner Larry, it makes you feel as if you were in pandora. If you have seen the movie Avatar, then you know what I am talking about.the place is magical. I felt in love with my fiance, thanks to the beautifull place and care I got from them. Everyone was very professional and kind. I booked my stayed for 15 days, but duo to personal reasons, i had to leave a few days early. The GM, was very understanding of my situation, that he worked it out , were we were both happy. Once again, this is a very delightfull place to stay. is away from busy city , and very relaxing. I took so many pictures and video of the hotel, is truly the gem of cebu. One thing for sure, all roads lead to Alta, because if you are staying somewhere else in Cebu, you will miss out on it's beauty and pleasant stay. I particularly like the shower, neat and reasonably spacious most importantly water heater is of the right temperature once turned on. The staff are friendly and . I feel very safe to travel around the resort as I travelled alone. I thought the food at the restaurant are pretty decent and tasty :)

hotel reception is great, the place is nice with live music at nite, rooms still need fixing, place is too far from everything and it's not a beach front like it say's on the advertisement.
