Sandaig Guest House - Edinburgh

Wir waren sehr, sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Die MItarbeiter sind sehr freundich und zuvorkommend. Bei unserer Abfahrt bekamen wir sogar noch einen Frühstücksimbiss in die Hand gedrückt, weil wir schon vor dem eigentlichen Frühstück los mussten. Vieln Dank nochmal für die freundliche Aufnahme!

Sandaig was an excellent Guest House with superb service and is very well located on 5 minutes walk from the re-generated water-front full of bars and eateries of all kinds.

We had a wondrtful stay at Sandaig Guest House. Excellent service, very nice hosts. The breakfast was a very tasty full scotish. Highly recommendable place to stay.

Very comfortable rooms. All essentials including iphone docking radio and a nightcap. Delightful staff. Excellent breakfast. Well situated in Leith, overlooking Links and within easy distance of both city centre, Ocean Terminal and Scottish Government offices. Restaurants etc very nearby.

We found the Guest House to be clean and comfortable with a very convenient bus route into the City.The staff were friendly and courteous and the cooked breakfasts very good.A range of good restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Ett mycket trevligt hotell som har bra kommunikationer ca 10 min med buss in till centrum, gångavstånd till Leth med bra restauranger och pubar. Mycket trevliga ägare och en mycket god och riklig frukost

Yövyimme kuuden hengen seurueella kolme yötä Sandaigissa, kolme henkilöä per huone. Hyvin mahduimme eikä tullut ahtaan paikan kammoa. Huoneet ovat ihanan persoonallisia ja kaikki eri näköisiä. Kylpyhuoneet ovat moderneja. Ainoa miinus siitä ettei suihkugeeliä löydy minipulloista, ainoastaan pienenpieni palasaippua, jonka varassa piti olla kolme päivää. […] Uusia ei tuotu missään vaiheessa. Ei luulisi olevan suuri investointi. Aamiaishuone on pieni mutta viihtyisä, ja ruoka mahtavaa. Listalta tilataan alkuruoka ja lämmin aamiainen, lisäksi murot, mehut, paahtoleivät ja kahvit/teet/kaakaot. Kyllä näillä eväillä jaksaa. Sijainti kätevästi bussilinjan 35 lähellä, joten keskustaan tai Ocean Terminaliin pääsee helposti. Hotellin vieressä kaunis puisto ja alue muutenkin rauhallinen ja viihtyisä. Mehr

Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf in Sandaig. Mooie kamer, met föhn en strijkfaciliteiten. Rustige ligging tegenover park met gratis parkeerplaatsen. Behulpzaam personeel en echt Scottish breakfast!

The guest house is located about 10 minutes out of the city center (with a bus) in a pretty quiet area. Pros: - The staff is very friendly and helpful. - In general, a very good standard on rooms and bathrooms. - Good breakfast - Easy access to the city center by bus and taxi, the buses stop just outside (about every 10 minutes) and is £1.30 each way, […] a taxi is usually about £7. Cons: - No fans or aircondition in the rooms (at least ours), so it will get pretty hot on warm summer days. - The lady cleaning the rooms goes home a bit early. Mehr

I've stayed at pricier hotels and not had the same level of comfort and service as I did at Sandaig Guesthouse. The room was beautiful, and the interior of the building is equally lovely and conveys a warm atmosphere. Service was excellent by warm and friendly hosts. If your main interest is exploring downtown Edinburgh the location may seem a bit remote, […] but it's easy and fast (and cheap) to get to the city centre by bus. The surrounding area is also relatively quiet and relaxed, which I personally think makes it all the more attractive to come back to after a hectic day in the bustling city centre. The neighbouring Leith Links Park is serene and lush and adds to the appeal. If you're a female like me, you probably care about a nice, clean bathroom with good lighting for applying make up. Rest assured - the bathroom is clean, beautiful and luxurious with generous lighting. And the shower cabinet was huge! I loved it! My room was at the top floor with a lovely view of the park, but the lack of lift means you might have to manhandle the luggage up some stairs. This might not be suitable for guests with physical disabilities, even though the staff will of course help you carry stuff to your room (and they do so with a smile..bless them). My room had an ensuite bathroom, which was seperated from the bedroom by a tiny hallway (leading to the rooms entrance door). I really liked this, as it will provide you with some bathroom privacy should you share your room with someone else. I had the double bed all to myself, but it was spacious enough to be comfortable for two people. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to stay with my boyfriend, because of these two factors. They may be small issues, granted, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks it a bonus. The room also had a table by the window filled with everything you need to make your coffees or teas, including lots of milk which was a nice and welome touch. The biscuits were lovely.
