Extremely well furnished rooms, great service and an idylic rural location with great views. About a mile from New Mills.

Quiet and perfect. So much more than a pub with rooms. Boutique hotel quality in the spacious room and everywhere looks like you're the first person to stay there. Very friendly staff. Everything you could need and great real ales. Stayed two nights for a local conference and will be booking again. Would be great to step outside the door and do some […] walking but didn't have time unfortunately. Lovely isolated hillside setting. Would also make a great romantic getaway. Mehr

Friendly staff, cozy room, nice food in the evening and a lovely full English breakfast in the morning and a great area to get away , Defiantely stop here again. Can't ask for more

Stayed for a couple of nights. Easy to find and only a 45 minute drive frotm home. Fantastic location and our room had views across to the snow covered hills in the distance. Staff were, as reported by others,always willing to help in any way. The food was as good as any we have had in the many hotels we have stayed in. The room was spotlessly clean […] and the little extras like a bowl of fruit and wide selection of hot drinks made the difference. This place was really first class and in a lovely setting. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful also. The room my wife and I had - an upgrade - was very pleasing in all respects bar one: the pillows were not very comfortable though, in fairness, I have a neck problem and can't just use any type of pillow. Otherwise though the rooms were very […] well appointed and had some really nice touches in the bathroom, too. Although we had only booked in for one night, we found everything else to be of a very high standard: the evening meal and breakfast were both very good. We had a fantastic stay and would very much recommend this to anyone staying in the area. The room was clean, bright and much more spacious than we'd expected. Staff were friendly, and the food in the pub was really delicious - a great selection for dinner and breakfast. It was a perfect location for walking, tremendous views and beautiful countryside. […] The pub itself was snug and cosy, and had a fantastic patio area that looked perfect for summer (though we didn't have the weather to make use of it during our stay). Took a bit of finding in the dark, but my trusty Sat Nav did the biz! Once there I found a friendly reception and surprising development with more rooms than I had anticipated from the title. The staff at the Pack Horse Inn were really great and very helpful. The eals were delicious, and the surrounding countryside was very beautiful. I walked from the train up and back and found the walk not too bad. I would recommend the accommodation to my friends

We stayed at the Pack Horse in over the Easter long weekend. We were very happy with the accommodation. We had a standard room, which was spacious and clean, and we also appreciated the little touches such as a bowl of fresh fruit, bottled water, and a good selection of teas. The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of cooked or continental options. Only […] slight reservation is that the vegetarian selection at the restaurant wasn't that inspired. It probably won't matter to most people, but if you're a vegetarian you only get to choose from a tired vege curry, or a bean chilli...I think there was one more thing as well, but these are things which I could cook at home and which don't excite me at all. I would have liked to see something a little more considered, for example with goat's cheese or aubergine... just something outside of a vegetarian's normal staples. But other than that, it was a perfect base for exploring the Peak district, the staff were kind and helpful, and we couldn't fault the room at all. Mehr
