Arenal Springs Resort - Fortuna

The thermal pools were wonderful! Problem was the AC that we could not turn to a warmer temperature, so either we were freezing or steaming.

Hotel is very good. but they have to fix road. Aprx. 600-700 ft of a duirt , in the dust is not mach to hotel level.

Springs Resort was the best resort on our 2 week stay in Costa Rica. The hot spring pools were a great ammenady. The swim up bar and resurant was amazing and specifically Luiz at the swim up bar was very hospitable. He came out from behind the bar and shoke our hands with a welcoming smile.

We loved this hotel. The thermal springs pool was great. It was about halfway between LaFortuna and the hiking and activities by the volcano. The breakfast was included and was great. It was served in a beutiful dining area and included omelettes and fresh tortillas.

Great place there was nothing wrong.. You will love it..

We booked this hotel after reading reviews on hotels.com. It was everything people said and more. Loved the rooms, very spacious, clean, had TV & WiFi and every one had a view of the volcano. Pools were heated by natural hot springs. Really enjoyed the swim up bar and with more time, would have loved the swim up sushi bar! We enjoyed breakfast daily […] and had lunch at the hotel as well -- it was great, but being so close to Fortuna, we had to check out the other restaurants as well! Edward, the concierge, seemingly worked 24 hours a day. He was always available to call a taxi, make dinner reservations, confirm our tours and offer assistance on the computer. TIP: If you are adventurous, try the Waterfall Rappelling (Canyoneering) at Desa Fio. Mehr

I stayed one night. Hotel is very nice, beautiful landscaping, very nice rooms spread in groupings throughout the grounds (not in a single big building). It feels like a group of homes with broad streets and green spaces. Edward, concierge, was very helpful - staff were professional. I am recommending this resort already. I would like to return for […] a week just to relax and enjoy. Costa Rica is a country with beauty everywhere, and this hotel added to my experience. It is near La Fortuna and Arenal Parque. We really enjoyed the hot pools and the swim up bar. We didn't go to any of the surrounding hot springs because we enjoyed the ones at the hotel and that meant we didn't have to go anywhere:) The breakfast was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful. The only negative was the quality of mattresses- way too hard.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were so blown away by the overall upscale look and feel of the hotel we were seriously worried that the shuttle dropped us off at the wrong hotel. The pictures don't really do the hotel justice in getting a feel for the beautiful pool and hot springs area with a backdrop overlooking the volcano. In fact, I don't think […] it was clear on the website that this hotel has their own hot springs so we were pleasantly surprised to learn we didn't have to leave the hotel grounds to enjoy the hot springs. The hotel room itself is actually a bungalow, and it was very nice and big, but still felt cozy. The beds and sheets were a little uncomfortable for my taste, but we still loved everything else about the hotel. Edward, the concierge/tour adviser, was EXTREMELY nice and helpful in arranging two activities, zip lining and white water rafting. I would highly recommend zip lining with EcoGlide and white water rafting with Costa Rican Descents. Both tours were fantastic! The service in general was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an upscale place at a reasonable price in the Arenal area. Mehr

Arenal Springs Resort was lovely. We had the most amazing view. In the morning we would wake up and from our bed we could see smoke spilling out of the volcano. It was stunning. The grounds were beautiful. the springs warm (with no strong sulfur smell) and the free made to order breakfast was delicious with lots of options. We stayed for three nights […] with our two teenagers and had a wonderful time. We had a car so were able to get to town in just a few minutes, it would be a hike to walk it, but taxis and shuttle buses were always around. We had originally booked at the Lost Iguana which had really good reviews but decided on Arenal Springs because of the price (saving $230, which covered the cost of our Canopy Tour for 4) we weren't disappointed. Could not ask for a better place at the price. Great rooms, surroundings are beautiful, servie outstanding, brekfast very good but restaurant dinner average. More than expected overall.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the staff was wonderful....the views are breathtaking and food was delicious....I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone visiting Arenal... great value! If they pave the entrance road the cars would appreciate it a lot more... (not the hotel entrance but the access road)

This hotel was perfect not only because of the volcano view but also a bird watching,monkey etc also very quite for those who want to rest

Should have been told that the hotel was not in the Navigators (GPS) for directions did not have the hotel in its data base which made finding the place a bit difficult. Should have been told that there were other hotels with very similarnames in the area. The room was totally devoid of any information telling guests about the hotel amenities and the […] surrounding area and attractions. There was furniture in the room that was obviously for plants or something else to be placed upon that sat empty. The breakfast buffet was good but the dinner we had seemed to be "corporate food". Wonderful gardens. Cordial, attentive and genuinely amicable service. Very relaxing and romantic. Don't go for the swinging night life. Good food & drinks at reasonable prices. Great bar and hot springs....sit at the wet bar have drinks and dinner. Soak all your tension away. Tons of outdoor activities within easy driving distance or with organized […] tours from the hotel itself. If you like horseback riding, the local volcano tour is well worth your time...monkeys, toucans, iguanas, cows, great time overall!! Mehr

...By far the best value! Had an awesome time and to waking up to the gorgeous view of the volcano every morning is unspeakable.

So this hotel definitely has some great perks - great view of volcano, great breakfast, really awesome bathroom. The cons would be location and the hardest mattress you have ever slept on. It is pretty difficult to get to if you are driving yourself - located off a long bumpy road behind another resort. My fiance and I spent 3 nights at Arenal Springs Resort. The property is absolutely breathtaking and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds are hard as a rock but the rooms are beautiful, clean and private. The food at the restaurant was uninspired except for the complimentary breakfast buffet which was delicious (of course, no one told us it […] was complimentary until the last day, so we missed out the first 2 mornings). There isn't much to do at night and this resort is a little ways from town. We would have liked to be closer to other bars and restaurants in La Fortuna. Be sure to compare excursion prices offered at the hotel to ones available in town... we found way better deals on several excursions when we went to the local travel organizations. Mehr

Beautiful hotel grounds and nice duplex-type hotel buildings. Great view of the volcano and a nice thermal pool. Breakfast is great, but other than that, the hotel restaurant can be skipped. I would stay there again.

We stayed at the Springs for 2 nights in room 903 which is one of the best rooms on the property. The hotel is comprised of many one story, two unit buildings except for 2 building which are two story, four unit buildings. All units face the volcano but being on the second story is just awesome. The view from the balcony is so great. There is even a […] view from the shower! The king bed was super comfortable. The property grounds were absolutely beautiful. It seems that the gardeners work on one section or another every day so all of the trees, plants and bushes are in pristine condition. The included breakfast buffet was plentiful, fresh and provided ample variety. The hot springs pool was the place to go after a day of hiking. It was so warm and the swim up bar was an added bonus. Overall we had a great 3 days at the Springs. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Mehr

Wonderful staff and really pretty setting. Only complaints are the mile of raocky raod to get to it and we could hear our next door neighbors sometimes, so walls were a little thin.

Nice private patio, lush foliage, great view of volcano. Had dinner and breakfast at the resort - both were great and the service excellent.

Great view of Volcano. Nice grounds and decent breakfast. Would be a good place for a romantic getaway.

Each morning i got up to see the entire volcano in front of me., smoke coming from the crater., magnificent !

This was probably the one hotel in Costa Rica that we stayed where the price matched the hotel. The resort is well maintained as are the rooms. The grounds are impeccable. Breakfast is good too and the view of the volcano is great. We didn't get to see the lava but some guests mentioned that the hotel gave them a wake up call and they were able to see […] it when it erupted. We did have a few ants in the room so that was kind of a bummer. But we would definitely stay here again. Mehr

The Staff from check in and welcome drink to the minute we departed two days later were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a great view of the volcano (not the lava flow) from the rooms, patios and the restauant. The restauant offered a varied selection and I recommend the Tuna. It was huge and worth every penny. Cooked perfect both times it was ordered […] by our table. Rodrigo was friendly and witty, making our dinning experience delightful. From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and accomodating. Our room exceeded my expectations and we had a wonderful view of the volcano. There was a great breakfast buffet and a nice pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel is AMAZING for any price. But, it is really amazing for the price. Seems like a 5 star hotel. The view of the volcano is perfect. The staff is wonderful.

This hotel was very clean and well maintained. The bathroom was a good size and there were few bugs compared to what we experienced at other hotels in CR. I'm not a big fan of the fact that golf carts had to be used to be picked up and taken to and from your room and the main lobby but the property was very big so it was necessary. They were usually […] on time to pick us up on the golf carts when we called except for the last day when we were checking out, they took quite a while. The breakfast is great here and its a buffet that's usually free with your stay. Meanwhile the actual restaurant where you have to pay for your lunch/dinner is terrible. Totally overpriced and 4 of the entrees that we tried were all disappointing. I'd suggest eating dinner elsewhere and staying here anyway. Mehr

Tenue exceptionnelle du parc , bungalows tres confortables , les différentes piscines sont bien intégrées au milieu d'une belle végétation, personnels attentionnés

Excelente servicio.

Habitaciones tipo cabaña, cómodas, limpias. La atención en restaurante y desayunos muy buenos. Recibimos un masaje en el spa muy recomendable (algo caro pero vale la pena) Para nosotros fue suficiente ir a la piscinas del hotel y disfrutar de aguas termales. Una recomendación para el hotel; actualizen la decoración interna de los cuartos y denle mantenimiento […] a los techos, escuche algún animalillo caminar en las noches. La Fortuna es precioso pero definitivamente caro. Vale la pena ir al lago, hubiera querido ir en canoa pero no hubo tiempo. El ecoglide es obligatorio para el que es aventurero. Bendiciones ! Mehr

Very lovely, except the restaurant very bad and expensive. The garden is beautifull, nights are quiet, people on duty for you. If you don't eat there, you will be enjoyed

L'hôtel mérite largement ces trois étoiles. Très bien situé pour voir le volcan Arenal. Les chambres sont dans des bugalows ( 2 chambes par bungalows). Le restaurant est excellent . Le free wifi fonctionne parfaiement . Pas de mauvaise surprise.

Cet hôtel est une merveille.. bungalow charmant, petite terrasse avec vue sur le volcan. Toutes les activités sont possibles depuis l'hotel, personnel très très agréable et sympatique. Restaurant excellent, bar et piscine magnifique en face du volcan, un des meilleurs endroits de notre voyage au Costa Rica.. si ce n'est le meilleur !
