Wir haben uns von den Bewertungen des B&B leiten lassen und sind entäuscht wurden.Es gibt in der Meinung von Engländern und Deutschen doch unterschiede.Es ging mit der Parkplatz suche los und hörte mit dem Zimmer auf.Das Zimmer war so klein,das wir unsere Reisetasche auf einen kleinen Schrank abstellen mußten.Der aufschlag für Meerblick war nicht gerechtfertigt […] (Schade ums Geld).Frühstück war auch nicht die Erfüllung.Wir fahren Zeit vielen Jahren nach UK,wir waren bis jetzt immer zufrieden mit unseren Unterkünften,aber das war ein reinfall.Was will man in einer Touristenhochburg erwarten.Einen Pluspunkt gibt es die Lage. Staying at yardley manor hotel was very relaxing. It was very quiet with no traffic noise to disturb and only a five minute walk from the busy harbour front. Our room was spacious and light. The staff were attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if in Torquay

Although the weather was awful, the location of the hotel was good (if you are OK with hills), only five minutes walk to the harbour and shops. Beds comfy and nice sea view, would go again.

From the moment we set foot in the hotel/pub we were made to feel welcome. We hadn't even ordered a drink and the locals got chatting. I will be returning soon!

The room was cold, poorly maintained and all electrics were being run from trailing gang sockets. I had to leave at 8.00 in the morning to arrive at the scheduled meeting that I was in the area to attend and breakfast was not possible before 8.30. Not impressed at all

The owners kindly upgraded us to a superior room free of charge with flowers and champagne because it was our anniversary. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed enormous and very comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice. Good location, everything you could posssibly want was within walking distance. I was very impressed with the […] variety of restaurants close by. I chose this hotel because I wanted to stay somewhere more traditional and not ultra modern, so dont expect a 4 star hotel. It is a bit rough round the edges throughout the rest of the hotel but repairs were being undertaken while we were there but didn't disturb us in any way. Had booked a standard room but was upgraded to a much bigger room for free. on checkin I was told about the basics where breakfast was, the bar, car parking and things like that together with a booklet in the room to aquaint yourself with the hotel, there was also a water bottle and glass in room with coffee and tea. Tv was a good size as well, bed […] was good size in fact the room was just right. A few drinks with fellow guests after a day out at the bar in the evening with the owner buying us a drink!! polished the stay for me, will be coming back to Yardley Manor. Mehr

the lady who owned the hotel, was lovely, we informed them it was my birthday and they upgraded our room and offered us a complimentary drink, which we really appreciated. The hotel was brilliantly located near the harbour for restaurants and pubs. They were very welcoming, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely like to return.

My Husband and I had a great weekend away, first room we were allocated was not great, as we had a terrific down pour of rain in the night, and it sounded like a waterfall outside our bedroom window. Our room was changed immediately the next morning to a lovely room No. 21. Jackie was wonderful and very hospitable. Amazing Rates, Location great, very […] walkable to the harbour. I was taking a short break holiday in Torquay. Being alone I had booked a single room but upon arrival found I had been allocated a large room with kingsize bed. This was nicely decorated, modern and clean with a stylish en-suite. Breakfast, which was included, was very good and served in the downstairs bar area. Hotel was very shabby, not at all like it was in pictures. Was quite clean in room and the family were doing their best, but service was poor and even though the breakfast was nice we kept having to ask for things i.e bread for toaster, jam, cereal etc. The people in the next room had no towell or drinking glasses and there was cleaning equipment left […] on stairs for two days. All in all apart from the excellent location, I would not stay there again. Mehr

Chaotic atmosphere on arrival. Staff arguing loudly in corridor so that guests could hear. Hotel is being refurbished and tools / materials lying around in public areas. Slow breakfast service.

Excellent Hotel on all fronts. Made instantly welcome. Cup of tera or coffee while the room was finished. Sheets, pillow cases, pillows and towels were all spotless and fresh smelling. Room was spacious and aired. Tea and coffee facilities provided. Bar with excellent service down stairs. Only a short walk to town centre where ther were plenty of restaurants […] and cafes where you can get something to eat in the afternoon or evening. Breakfast to write home about. Lovely reception when we arrived. Steve and Jackie were very hospitible, friendly and great hosts. We stayed 3 nights (2 adults and 1 child (10 yrs) and enjoyed the pool and The Griffin pub which is directly beneath the hotel. Location is great for the town and harbour and there is loads to do a little further afield.

We only met a member of staff on arrival and they were pre occupied with dealing with another customer who had been double booked. Never saw anyone else for the rest of the stay.

Pleased with the hotel and room and when the staff member came to the desk after ringing bell on the counter she was very pleasant and got us the extra hand towel we thought should have been there. Didn't realise there was a pub belonging to the hotel underneath and inappropriate items in different places in the hotel which would make it more appealing […] if moved. The owner/manager played incredibly loud music during the latter part of the evening, so loud that we laughed at the way the room was almost bouncing but couldn't stand it any longer and went out to the lobby and rang bell on the counter and eventually a young man came out at the same time as the young lady who we had seen earlier. She asked what was wrong and I said the music was unbelievably loud and she went straight down and made sure it was turned down. The staff (who are all part of the family who own the hotel) were absolutely great. Next morning after a difficult sleep on too narrow twin beds, which creaked at every single move, we went to breakfast which was brilliant, only thing that spoilt it were all the empty bottles, cardboard and random rubbish at the end of the breakfast area in the pub just behind where we were seated. A nice beaded curtain there would have made it a better area. I would go there again. Only a few tweeks to be made really. Mehr

We were on the floor above the bar area and every night the music was very loud in our room. Other than that it was good. New owner doing renovation work but that did not impact on us.

The hotel staff worked as a unit, ensuring all was well and comfortable with their guests. It appears to be a family, with all very experienced in the hotel and guest business. There was free parking, very welcome indeed. Every possible comfort was thought of and our rest was lovely with the exception of a few Wednesday night pub guests who stayed past […] midnight and awoke us at 3:30 AM. The first night was perfect and peaceful. Obviously if one rents a room at a hotel with a pub on the bottom floor, one must expect a little noise. I was dissapointed after reading the reviews I booked a De-Lux ensuite room with seaview,I did have a seaview through a window which rattled in wind and not double glazed (could hear seagulls) there was no headboard the furnishing were pine including a kitchen table and chairs and the TV was old with poor sound.The ensuite was very nice but small no […] bath.The owners were pleasant and helpful,the breakfast was ok served in the bar/dinning room. I read the review and was excited untill I got there. The room was tiny with too many pieces if furniture, but clean. There was no soap or shampoo, or even a hair dryer in the room. When we got there and through out the 2 nights we stayed we never saw anyone at the front desk. The first night we couldn't sleep due to the blasting music 3 floors down […] in the basement bar. We booked 2 nights for 2 adults in a double/king size with sea views for the 2/3/12 to 4/3/12. On arrival we went to the reception to check in. A member of staff spoke to us and asked if we were booked in for a twin room. I told her we had booked for a double/king room. We both felt that she mentioned a twin room, as she was`nt expecting us to be two […] men..I did check before booking the hotel to make sure it was a "Gay Friendly" hotel, so I wonder how true that actually is?. On Saturday I noticed that someone had put their foot on the n/s rear bumper of my car which had been parked in the hotel car park. It was covered in two muddy shoe prints which after wiping clean, had left many large scratches. I booked this hotel also based on the fact it had a private car park and did`nt expect the car to be damaged on site by other mindless hotel guests. On the morning we left we both decided to just leave the key card on the reception desk and go. I was very surprised that no one was manning the desk as so many guests were leaving that morning, many key cards were to be found left on the reception desk in a pile. Odd to leave a hotel without being asked if we enjoyed our stay. In fact this has to have been the first time we have just left a hotel with seeing any staff around. I would`nt bother leaving feedback on a stay at a hotel, but we both realised we had to leave our thoughts on the Yardley Manor Hotel. Two words some it up " Never Again" Mehr

Nice building. Staff were hard to find. Breakfast times were tight so we missed out (9 - 9:30). Not the best experience, but not unpleasant. Room was clean and comfortable for a 1 night stop off.

Hotel was a little gem... very comfortable, great value for money, owners and staff extremely friendly and courteous, nothing too much trouble. Although the hotel is undergoing a few cosmetic improvements this did not detract from a very enjoyable stay. There is a pub bar down under the hotel, which actually has a local style atmosphere. Certainly makes a night away on your own enjoyable. Rooms are excellent and newley decorated..
