Australian Heritage Hotel - The Rocks

We were so happy to stay at the Heritage Hotel. It is authentic Australian hotel living. The bathrooms were very clean, linen's were clean and fresh, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location was the best-we walked everywhere. We were only minutes from the Opera house, gardens and ferries to the zoo. We ate dinner at the bar/restaurant […] every night-the pizza and meat pies were great. It rained three days straight when we stayed-the hot pot in the common room was a comfort to make tea any time we wanted. The breakfast was yogart in the mini-fridge, toast and jam and fruit. Quick and there when we wanted a early departure. If you are a modern, sterile person -you will be out of place here. If you want to experience true Austrailian hospitality in a historic location-you cant beat this hotel. You may even be lucky ,as we were, to join into the trivia games night and join the locals in "a pint". Mehr

Great for young people. The bar downstairs is really authentic Australian! Great area, close to the main tourist attractions. Super awesome value!

We are seasoned travelers in our 60's and have stayed in this type of hotel before. I had pre-booked this hotel knowing that they had a bar area below the rooms, but had requested, if possible, not to be directly over the noisest part. We were shown to room, #10. This location did work out OK and was no real problem. There were a couple of weddings […] in the area, which added to it. My issue was with the room itself. Blackout curtains were listed on the web site as part of the room furishings. Our room had broken blinds that could not be closed. I understood that the hotel was full, so this was iwhy we were given this room. On the last day of our stay, I was able to see into several other rooms and saw that they all had blackout curtains and much nicer furniture as well. . We were the only Americans staying there, so got the feeling we were giving the lesser quility. I did take pictures. I should also mention that the hot water in one shower did not work at all, the toilet was broken and free flowing, and the light switch did not work in another bath. Coments in the guest log also reflected maintence issues. On the morning before our departure, I had asked the day managr to book a taxi for 5am the next morning, to go to the Intl. Airport, which he said he would do. He did not! I double checked that evening and the booking was done then, while I watched, otherwise we would have been in trouble the next morning trying to find a cab in this relatively remote part of the Rocks. Otherwise, the location suited our needs and the food that we did get was very good. I would still recommend this hotel, but for the money, I think it could be a bit better. Mehr

Best little Pub at the Rocks. Great food Icy Cold Beer Great Staff. What else could you ask for.

Never having been to AU we went into this blindly. The location could not be beat... right @ the base of the bridge and within walking distance of the Opera House. Had a very comfortable common room where an adequate bkfst is out for you. The stairs are steep, but the 4 of us twix 68 and 86 years old did fine. We weren't expecting the baths to be down […] the hall, but with so few rooms it was not a problem @ all. The pub below is VERY lively and loud, but we enjoyed the ambiance as part of our adventure. We'd definitely recommend this Hotel. Mehr

Grubby and run down

If you expect a hotel to provide clean sheets daily, a private bathroom and a luxurous breakfast, go elsewhere. If you expect it to provide a clean place to stay, a nice ground-floor pub/restaurant, well-maintained bathrooms, a basic breakfast and a friendly atmosphere, try the Australian! The pub has a lot of Australian beers, although they are on […] the expensive side. The kangaroo pizza is overpriced but probably worth it for the one-time experience. Mehr

The hotel was in a really brilliant location in The Rocks area of Sydney. The room and overall feel of the hotel was very homely and the breakfast in the morning was good. It was convenient having a nice little pub downstairs that served great pizzas. The only downside were a few little things in our room. the bed was a little uncomfortable as it was […] a sheet of ply with a mattress on top that creaked really badly. the blind was also broken and couldn't be shut properly. Despite all this there were plently of shared bathroom facilities that were really clean and we would re-visit the hotel as it was really quirky and the location was just perfect. Mehr

The hotel was quite nice, but the room was a little worn down. Staff was very friendly and service was overall excellent!

A lovely quaint little place. The common room was good for chatting to other guests. Extremely cheap rates and breakfast included - basic but sufficient. Can be a little noisy but this was expected being above a pub. Clean but dusty (could do with a good spring clean and some of the age related damage issues sorted)- if you want the usual clinical/hospital […] cleanliness go elsewhere. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the pub was fantastic.Will definitely stay there again. Mehr

If you want a shiny, sterile hotel, stay elswhere. For something with a bit of character, friendly, helpful staff and a very reasonable room rate considering the location, this is the place to stay. Sure, it may have needed a bit of fresh paint but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. That's all I needed. The quiet little lounge areas were a b […] onus. Mehr

Habour Brigde、Opera House、市の中心部、どこにも歩いて行けるとても便利なところです。スタッフもとても親切です。 100年ぐらいの歴史もある建物で、部屋の内装は相当古いです。エアコンはありません。滞在の初日、気温が34度もあり、辛かったです。幸い2日目以降、天気は涼しくなりました。1階はBarなので、夜中12時過ぎまで騒いています。早寝の人にはお勧めできません。

Heel sfeervol hotel op één van de beste locaties in Sydney, jammer genoeg werd één nacht verstoord door nachtlawaai van medegasten. Er werd hiervoor klacht ingediend en het management zou tegenover deze gasten in de toekomst hierover aanspraken, mochten zij nog eens kamers reserveren.
