It was my second stay at this B&b and this time I had issues with internet speed and internet connection t. I'd stay there again only for leisure not for business.Overall very good experience.

Quiet neighbourhood, easy to travel to City Centre by bus. Good value for money.

Charming and lovely family hotel full of character and warmth. I'd stay there again and I'd recommend it to my family and friends (but personally I'd not stay there for business purpose anymore as I had problems with internet connection and this lead to two very stressful nights as I was unable to submit my online work. well i think it is the best 3 star hotel i have ever stayed in, the friendlly staff and excellent breakfast, as well as the beautiful furnishings , then clenliness is excellent i would fully recommend this hotel for the prices and friendly atmosphere, i was in a single room and i was very impressed. my thanks to the owners and friendly staff.

This place was fantastic. It is a large gracious 19th century house set in its own walled garden where you can park your car. The dining room was beautifully elegant and breakfast was wonderful. Huge fireplace with fire on, lovely breakfast, real coffee served in cafetiere. Staff were so helpful. Nice bathroom and shower. It was an immaculately clean oasis and I couldn't believe the price. A warm welcome. I would definitely return. The photos on the hotel website do not actually do justice to the house, the rooms and the dining room. Very tasteful and in keeping with the period of the house but with real warmth also of the staff and proprietress. I had a superb nights sleep and received an upgrade on arrival. This was a very pleasant hote, and the staff were helpfull and polite.

My girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by this place, just off a main road to Newcastle town centre and bordering areas which could be described as 'due for regeneration', although the actual location is nice enough, and leafy. Despite our having stretched the proprietress' (Katerina's) patience with my pestering for directions and our unconventional […] hours (I'm a musician, I was performing that night), John still welcomed us into his charming late Victorian home with great warmth in the middle of the night. Although our modest room was a little overendowed with furniture (the built-in wardrobe was...er... complimented by a further two freestanding wardrobes, two nightstands, a chest of drawers and a dresser, leaving about fifteen square feet of usable floor around the very comfy bed) we found the overall ambiance welcoming and relaxed. The communal rooms are nicely appointed in an eclectic-classic style, and there's very much a feeling of being a welcome guest in someone's much-loved home, with family portraits adorning the walls and the housekeeping staff friendly and accommodating. We missed breakfast, but the smell almost made us forgo the missed sleep. Almost. Mehr

Good place to stay Good value for money when on offer.

We stayed one night to visit relatives and do shopping in Newcastle.Very pleasant small guest house with a friendly owner. Lovely breakfast / dining room and all rooms warm and clean. Not far from university and town centre on foot or by bus...

This family run small hotel is is very close to the city centre. It is kept to a very high standard; The staff are friendly and helpful; The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Good value for money

Stayed overnight after trip to theatre in Newcastle. Lovely hotel, good sized room, very comfortable and breakfast excellent would definately stay again if in Newcastle.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The house is beautiful and the furnishings are individual and clearly carefully chosen. Its not a bland modern hotel, it is a period property which means it has character and not everything is brand spanking new. Caterina was extremely welcoming and friendly and happy to give advice on where to eat. I had booked a single […] room with shared bathroom and was delighted to be upgraded to a double en suite. This was a lovely room with views over Newcastle. The bathroom was also very nice and clean. Breakfast was good and quickly served. The area was quiet, a little way away from town but there is a bus stop 5 minutes walk away. The only improvement I can think of would be blackout linings for the curtains. All in all excellent value and I'd be happy to stay again. Mehr

A pleasant, comfortable small hotel with all the facilities needed for a short stay. It is quite a way from the city centre but buses stop about half a mile away and the journey takes 15 minutes. Taxis cost £6 - 7 each way.

Warm welcome and excellent information on local ammenities. Very good breakfast. Recommended.

Friendly welcome, excellent food. One night stay so took "non-ensuite" but bathroom etc next door. Bargain at the price including breakfast

I really enjoyed my stay at this guesthouse- the owner was very welcoming and the other hotel staff very warm. The bed was very comfy and the room decor was chique. The only downfall really was its location- while it was only a 5 minute busride from the city centre, there was a good ten minute walk uphill to the bus stop in order to get into the city […] centre. A family owned, former a living house type hotel. Very warm and friendly handling by the staff.

The owners of the hotel get a 5* for customer service: I received a call at home from Katerina the owner asking me what time i would be arriving and said she looked forward to seeing me. On arrival she was so friendly and gave me enough information for me to absorb about the city which was brilliant as i had never been to newcastle before. Our room […] was so comfortable and spacious and spotlessly clean. I had a fantastic nights sleep which never happens when i go to a place for the first time. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room and had everything from cereal, full english toast and tea. Forgot to say the building is beautiful and full of period pieces and features. The area is really peaceful but just ten minutes from the city centre. I'd highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Mehr

We had three nights here. Though the pillows were a bit hard we were made extremely welcome and provided with good English breakfasts. The off-road parking was very welcome in this quite area of Newcastle. The location just a short distance to the West of the City centre was very convenient for getting both into town, as well as out up the Tyne valley […] and away up into the Northern parts of Northumberland. The old 1880's Victorian house is lovely inside, well decorated and very charming. Well worth a visit and we'll be back again. Mehr

I stayed in this delightful hotel whilst visiting the hospital on business. It was very convenient walking distance, the kind owners allowed me to leave my car in the hotel car park which avoided the high charges for parking in the hospital. Just got back from a very pleasant hotel situated about 5 mins bus ride to city centre, the bus ride is cheap and very frequent. Ideal location if you want a little peace at night, away from the hustle of the busy city centre.Very friendly owners and the breakfast was great too. Would highly rate this hotel.

good 1st impressions: a fire burning in the lounge [even in June!], an inviting, if small, bar. Single room was very small yet comfortable considering the very low price being charged. Excellent full english breakfast served too.

We enjoyed our stay in Necastle very much. The hotel is all right. The city has improved a lot -our last stay in the city dates back 43 years . We got help with the luggage( three stories up and no lift), nice fire in the breakfast room and good breakfast.. From your Norwegian guests.

Alt var veldig bra, men det er felles bad noe jeg ikke var klar over. Følte også at sikkerheten på oppbevaring av nøkler var dårlig. God frokost. Taxi til sentrum var lett og få tak i og kostet ca. 5£

Just amazing ! The location is the only disadvantage as you will have to take a bus to go to the centre of the town (but the bus stop is very close and there are only 10 minutes to go there). The owner of the owner is a very kind woman who was waiting for our arrival and who really took care of us, just like a real mum ! The room was really beautiful, […] quite big and very clean. The breakfast was just amazing : a traditional English breakfast as well as continental breakfast. Dejligt lille hyggeligt hotel - rent og pænt, stille kvarter. 10 min. bus til centrum. Fin morgenmad og venlige, hjælpsomme mennesker.
