I have stayed at many five star properties from Singapure and Dubai to Marakkesh and New York but La Amada on Playa Mujeres is a top pic for jetsetters, globetrotters and individualists who are looking for a private runned boutique resort with lots of privacy, laid back atmosphered and excellent service! We had an ocean view penthouse with plunge pool […] and it was HUGE and absolutely cheap in comparisson to other 5 star hotels, just that we got 260 sqm instead of 30-40 sqm for the same price! The Spa is very classy and even though the prices are a bit high you get lots of added value due to the 1 hour "pre treatment" for free. The food is also great, 4 out of 5, the service is 5 out of 5 and the rooms as well! And they have two big pools inside the property and one big infinity pool on the beach next to the beach restaurant - and for chilling at the shore you can choose one of the private cabanas both. This hotel is perfect if you are looking for a calm stay off the beaten tourist tracks (Cancun!) with plenty of space for yourself, excellent service and contemporary design this is the best pick in the area of Cancun! The Beloved is the truly representation of quality, service and comfort at the highest level. You are welcomed with a cup of sparking wine and a cold towel. Each one of its employees are dedicated to make you feel like the only guest with a personalized service. They know you by the name from wherever you go. A small problem with our reservation was immediately corrected by the Front desk, Carina the manager sent a bottle of champagne to apologize the inconvenience. I have stayed in five star hotels on occasion, and the service at The Beloved was the BEST I have experienced. The hotel was at 95% capacity, according to a few employees, but I felt like my boyfriend and I were some of only a few people there. Had a fantastic stay - room was the cheapest but still had great facilities, very spacious and comfortable. Impeccable maid service and staff all round were friendly and brilliant, nothing too much trouble and all eager to please. This really is the top end of "all inclusive": 3 good a la carte restaurants, quick room service, well stocked minibar/snacks […] and as many drinks and wonderful cocktails as you can imagine - and right on an lovely white sand beach. The room was amazing, I went with the Terrace Suite with plunge pool and while I stayed in a normal suite last time, I would of almost preferred the normal ocean view suite again. The beach cabanas are the way […] to go, so you do not have get up super early to try to snag a spot on the beach or next to the pool with the bar. While you can reserve the beach cabanas at $45 for the day, it is well worth it, even though the hotel is all inclusive. The room was amazing, very clean as last time and the little touches such as fresh strawberries or custom pastries was to die for. The liquor in the room and at the bars was top shelve and included in the price, which was nice. The bartenders where all amazing and Lydia the beach concierge was amazing and ensured our needs were met on the days we stayed in the beach cabanas. Alex and Geo did an awesome job serving us, Alex was on the beach and Geo was the nightly bartender at the main bar inside the lobby. The hotel was excellent! The one thing they can improve upon is the quality of the "do not disturb" request. I had the DND tab outside my door, yet, I'd get 3-4 calls every day on trivial matters (the time they could clean the room; the quality of my stay, etc.). We absolutely loved the Beloved Hotel. The rooms were clean, bright and cheery, the staff couldn't be friendlier. We stayed in the junior suite with an ocean view room. If you want to get away from it all and just relax this is the place to go.

BUT for the price you pay, the food was only okay.....it's still better than the average resort food but we've been to many all-inclusives and expected better from the Beloved because of it's price and star rating. When we asked the DJ for something we could at least slow dance to in the beautiful lounge under the stars, he said management specifically prohibited him from playing anything more than non-lyrical music. Heaven on earth and then some! Our recent stay (2/7-2/10) at The Beloved Hotel was exceptional! My friend and I were looking for a quiet spot to have a get away from our busy lives. The service was Top notch. From the moment you arrive, the staff was so attentive and personable. Christian, the bellman, offered us a glass of champagne and a warm lemon […] scented cloth to wipe our hands, a great first impression. Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was not ready so we headed to Isla Grill and enjoyed a fabalous lunch and a few cocktails. Pablo, the manager, exemplified perfection in service. We checked out the breathtaking beach and met Alex, the beach waiter. He was amazing and accomodating throughout our stay. The spa is luxurious and The Aqua Vita (free service with a treatment) was fun and relaxing. The spa was the best we have ever experienced in our 20 years of traveling together. The food was delicious and presented is a very sophisticated manner. It was not a typical all-inclusive where the food is piled on buffets. It was beautifully set up and the a la cart items were very appealing. The grounds were spotless thanks to the employees raking the sand, moping the floors, attending the bathrooms. The room was spacious and comfortable. There are children but they seemed well behaved. Not an issue for us. I would suggest you go to dinner on the later side if you want to avoid the little ones. Sure enough, when we came back from dinner, there were five Corona's in the fridge. We spent one week at the Beloved Hotel. The staff is extremely nice, polite and accommodating. The rooms are huge and we had our private jacuzzi and private deck. The mini bar in the room offers good alcohol choices but the bars in the hotel offer more top-shelf liquors. The drinks are very good and they can make any drink you want. The food is good, […] nothing exceptional but good. They have 4 restaurants but only 2 are open for lunch and the 2 other for dinner so it is lacking of variety. For breakfast they have a great buffet and a la carte option. This should be offered at lunch and dinner too. The service for dinner is slow. This was our second visit to The Beloved Resort but certainly not our last. We absolutely love being here and hate to leave at the end of a week. The staff is wonderful and extremely courteous and everyone we encountered was lovely to us. The food. We haven't had better anywhere in Cancun. The options here are plentiful with several restaurants scattered […] across the property. At the beach, expect to be spoiled with a special menu of wood fired pizzas, grilled skewers of shrimp, chicken or beef, and the usual mexican favorites like guacomole, quesadillas, etc.. For dinner,there is the Lupita restaurant with exceptional mexican gourmet offerings and a very good wine selection, the Aroma restaurant with its buffet or table service, and the Grill, for relaxed all day service of healthy menu options. Also, there is live music almost all the time at one restaurant or another. The drinks are excellent with top shelf ingredients. The spa is heaven, go there and do the water therapy ritual. The usual spa services are rendered very capably. Great work out room with equipment. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and have a generous balcony with a big lounging bed for rainy afternoons or whenever. Room service 24 hours. The beach has a lot of sea grass sometimes but you can still go in the water. The pools are beautiful, not heated but great for a swimmer like me. Bring a couple of 100 singles and a bunch of fives and dole them out to the staff. They deserve it and it helps them out. Mehr

We never did an "all inclusive" hotel before and didn't quite believe all that they promised. but the Beloved exceeded our expectations on so many levels. They were so generous and kind that I thought we'd get a bill at the end, but there were no extra charges. Everything was included. Even liquor. We had a great vacation!

-stayed 5 days/4 nights in Jan, 2013 -Overall, very good service. Most of everyone are friendly and polite. Almost no pressure for extra tip I felt with other all-inclusive hotels. My personal experience is that 90% of service people are genuinely helpful, while 10% are showing only the fake smiles. I have to admit the whole experience are well designed […] and they really take care of details. From the moment you check in to the time when you check out, great customer experience. -Things went wrong occasionally. For example, the room service is suppose to arrive within 35 min of the order time, but it came late a couple of times. once I got an apologizing phone call, the other time I had to call again, but it got corrected right away. Compared to the overall experience, these are tiny. - Agree with some reviews on food, they all look great, but taste are inconsistent. -The color of sea here is not the best, but beach sand is white and soft. We had very nice walks. didn't see a lot of seaweed as other reviewers mention. -We stayed at Junior suite, a trade-off of privacy vs. the convenience of swim-up suite. Thinking back, I prefer privacy better. I was considering those suite with private plunge pool, but it is too tiny for the real use, and some of them are not private. Mehr

We are torn between wanting to give this hotel 6 stars, and wanting to keep it all to ourselves! This has to be, without a doubt, one of the finest hotels out there, We cannot sing the praises of the staff too much - everyone from the doorman to the cleaning staff were helpful, cheerful and polite. They all seemed to genuinely want you to enjoy your […] stay and always asked of there was anything else they could do. The front desk were obliging with money exchanges and trip advice, the restaurant staff and bar staff were helpful and eager to provide insights into the best food/drink. We have stayed in many a 4 star hotel, and all could do with sending their staff here for a quick course in customer service. Yes Dominic, there are children, but as the hotel is not over 18s only, that is to be expected. In fact, there were a lot of children, but as none of them were ours, and they were, on the whole, remarkably well behaved, it wasn't a problem. Our room was fantastic with a patio, our own mini pool and a wet bar filled with full sized bottles and snacks. The only criticism we have of the whole hotel is the 'house' wine - virtually undrinkable. Great food, top of the line spirits, but duff wine - very odd. There is an additional wine list but you pay extra for it. Finally, be aware that this hotel is about 30 minutes north of Cancun - handy if you are going on a day trip to the nearby Isla Mujeres, but allow extra time if you are going to Cancun, the airport or anywhere else. Words cannot really define how nice this resort was. I would recommend it to anyone (in fact I have been). The attention to detail was clear in the service, food and overall experience. It is a family resort, but my husband and I choose to go for our one year anniversary. If you were worried about speaking Spanish, don't be. The Beloved is amazing. It is a true paradise. The staff is awesome. While my family was visitng we became friends with many of the staff and that does not happen at a lot resorts. I look forward to my next visit because I felt relaxed and refreshed while there. If you want a true relaxing vacation go to the "The Beloved".
