It was very nice and it is a must for the snorkeling addicts. Just be sure if your booking includes the dinner. And you have ti pay to ski.

We stayed at the recif during our honeymoon. We received a warm welcome from the staff. The hotel room was comfortable and spacious. The swimming pool though small was the highlight; facing the ocean. The restaurant at the hotel was french that served buffets for breakfast and dinner. Special arrangements were made in food preparations to suit our indian […] taste buds :). Music and dance performance were held during the evening times. We rented a bike and a car to explore the island with the help of the staff. We also made use of the boat house affiliated to the hotel for Kayaking & other water sports. Well located away from crowds with direct access to a small public beach, comfortable and well presented rooms, very pleasant bar, lounge chairs, dining area etc. I had a massage in the spa which was very good. Some of the staff in the bar and the restaurant can be surly and need training on customer service (the young female staff member was the exception […] - she needs to be given more opportunities and some of the older waiting staff can be moved on). The locals visiting the beach each day can be persistent to the point of rudeness and the hotel needs to somehow manage these relationships better as it has potential to turn a nice day at the beach into an unpleasant scene to be avoided the next day. The quality of the food served at dinner was generally disappointing and the options nearby, outside of the hotel are very limited, unless you want to make the 10 minutes drive to Grand Baie. Mehr

A very pleasant hotel to stay in, although the cleaning staff are not always efficient - on our first day there, we were tried to be charged with minibar items that weren't ours and the fridge contained a half bottle of water from the previous occupants, the complimentary coffee/tea/sugar etc. wasn't refilled for about a week and the complimentary shower […] gel/shampoo was almost empty at one point. The swimming pool is a good size for simple bathing but would not really be sufficient for children if anyone was thinking of going there. Breakfast was absolutely excellent with a wide choice of options and omelettes/eggs are cooked to order, which makes a very pleasant change. Do be wary of eating evening meals in the hotel - the room contained a full menu with no indication of when it applied, so we went along to the restaurant on our final evening, only to find a more expensive fixed price and exquisite set (two choices per course) menu was all that was on offer - what happens varies from night to night so check beforehand. We stayed 8 nights. On arrival they handed us the key of a not so nice room, garden room on the rear of the hotel close to the road, devided by a wall. We complained about the noise and the next day they moved us to a perfect room with see view. Striking sunset view! The food was ok, Wifi a dissater but we were on holiday so not a problem. Nice facilities […] like, pool, terrace on the beach and nice loungers. The best thing of the hotel was the manager Kevin. He does everything to make your stay pleasant! We would go back again. Mehr

This is a very stylish and relaxed hotel, and so much more reasonably priced than many of the hotels on Mauritius. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The beach isn't the long strip of white sand that can be round elsewhere, being rather small - however, more than compensated by the fact that there are a few rocks, and hence the 'sound of the sea'. […] (Our room - like many - were very close to the beach, and we were able to sleep with the door open and go to sleep to the sound of the waves which was lovely.) We only stayed one night (at the end of a work trip), and a longer stay would have been great. There is not a huge amount to do in the hotel itself, but it would be a good base from which to explore the island using the local buses (which pass right outside the hotel). Mehr

The hotel is beautiful and the food great.However we found that service could be improved such as the " boat house" boys could be promoting the water sports and offering rides, encouraging canoe rides, glass bottom boat rides etc instead of staying at the far end of the beach not being proactive.The soap , shampoo not replaced but needed to be requested, […] drink staff slow.The food was exceptional though. An exceptional choice of a hotel. Certainly should be rated higher than 3star hotel. Very nice accommodation providing privacy and relaxation and only 15min driving from the vibrant Grand Baie. I would recommend it to anyone.

We wanted a week of complete relaxation and that's exactly what we got at Le Recif. Our room was on the first floor above the swimming pool and we were a bit concerned that there might be a lot of noise. There was none. Our room was very nice and well maintained by the staff. We used to get a beer at the small local supermarket to drink on the balcony […] after a day sunbathing and swimming. It was a good way to try out local beers. For everything else we used the hotel bar. The bar and restaurant were good. The food was varied, very tasty and plentiful. We ate one night at the upstairs restaurant and enjoyed that very much. The wine in the restaurant was fairly average and as we'd just come from South Africa, it also seemed very expensive - but no more so than in Britain. The watersports were great fun and the boys at the boat house were very helpful and supportive (for first time water skiers!). The staff of the hotel were wonderful. Everyone from the manager who met us on arrival to the guard at the gate, was friendly and helpful. This hotel was a great find and gave us exactly the holiday we wanted. Mehr

We hebben een mooie vakantie gehad in een heel knus en gezellig resort aan zee. Dicht bij mooie stranden zoals: Mon Choissy en True aux Biches. Vriendelijk personeel in Le Recif, alleen zaten wij in het "oudere" gedeelte van het resort en daar hadden de kamers iets schoner mogen zijn. Wat betreft de ligging is het hotel echt goed. Heerlijk zwembad en […] mooie zee met een rif. Je kunt gratis gebruik maken van de Glass Bottem Boot, snorkel uitrusting, kano varen en water skieen! Het is ook zeker de moeite waard om naar Grand Baie te gaan, met de taxi (vrij prijzig) of de bus. Mehr

Bellissimo hotel, camera vista mare a due metri dalla piscina e a 4 dalla spiaggia! Bellissima visuale sul mare e le palme dalla finestra della camera. Ottimo servizio. Se però vuoi fare qualcosa ti devi spostare non a piedi perchè nelle vicinanze non c'è un granchè...Nel complesso molto soddisfatto.

mia moglie ed io abbiamo soggiornato all'hotel LE RECIF in agosto 2011,avendolo scelto per gli ottimi giudizi espressi dai precedenti ospiti; concordo per diverse cose nelle valutazioni gia' rilevate, ma con alcune riserve. L'hotel non e' facile da trovare,soprattutto di sera,non avendo scritte all'esterno,il personale non mi e' parso particolarmente […] affabile,la qualita' del cibo molto media e poco variata,i costi degli extra piuttosto elevati.Inoltre le ultime 2 giornate sono state disturbate da incivile comitiva,rumorosa e maleducata senza che il personale facesse molto per gestire la situazione.Quindi un buon 3 stelle,carino,pulito,in romantica posizione sul mare,ma nulla piu'. Cet hôtel nous a beaucoup plu car le personnel est très accueillant et le directeur prend soin de passer voir régulièrement les clients. De nombreuses activités aquatiques sont proposées soit gratuites (plongée masque-tuba, bateau à fond de verre, pédalo, kayak) ou payantes (plongée sous marine...). La baignade est difficile en raison des rochers mais […] la piscine est super avec vue sur l'océan. Le spa est très agréable. Les buffets du diner sont très variés (différents chaque soir) et de qualité avec un diner servi à table un soir dans la semaine. La réception est toujours à l'écoute et très réactive. Mehr

Pour un hotel de etoiles, l'hotel offre les memes services que les autres que j'ai eu l'occasion de visiter a Maurice, par contre, je trouve qu'il manque un peu de choix pour le buffet du restaurant. Plage pas tres pratique pour les enfants car il y a des corraux... attention aux pieds nus.

Bon hôtel. Le personnel est très agréable comme tous les Mauriciens. Situation très agréable, les pieds dans l'eau... Les repas sont très corrects mais il est dommage que nous n'ayons pas eu de vrais plats Mauricien (nous ne sommes restés que 3 jours). Par contre il est vraiment dommage que les jus de fruits servis au petit déjeuner ne soit pas des […] vrais jus de fruit, surtout dans un pays comme Maurice. Le sol des chambres est à rénover (béton ciré mais passé...) Tous le reste est très bien. Mehr

Notre séjour s'est très bien déroulé. L'hôtel est à taille humaine et le personnel accueillant et très professionnel. Le cadre est très agréable. Bref nous recommandons sans hésitation aucune cet établissement.
