We recently booked an overnight stay near Blenheim in a village just a few miles away at Wootton at the Killingworth Castle hotel as my husband was taking part in the BHF Marathon the next day (it turned out so was the landlady!). Our accommodation was in the adjoining converted barns - and it was perfectly adequate and comfortable for our purposes. We chose to eat in the pub that night. The food was good, service excellent and it brought back memories of what pubs used to be like - good atmosphere, plenty of banter, without the need for any music etc. - and the prices were reasonable too! Enjoyed are stay, Bath room needs a refit. The landlady was great really friendly very welcoming Food was good, breakfast was very very good i will definitely stay again not a posh hotel but really good cracking service.

we were looking for somewhere convenient for the woodstock literary festival and running a workshop in oxford. It was cheap and therefore good value. My husband said the breakfast was really good. We weren't impressed with the dust on the kettle and the damp in the bathroom but the landlady was very friendly and we weren't there much so hadn't wanted […] to spend a lot of money, so this did tick the boxes. This hotel was fabulous. The food, cooked by Adam was absolutely wonderful. The service we received was second to none.The locals in the pub itself were also warm and welcoming. This made our stay really enjoyable and we will be going back!

This Country side inn, set in a small hamlet but within easy reach of Blenheim Palace and Oxford is charming. Rooms are in an annexe to the pub and are quirky. The TomTom was a little bit off in directions but the hotel was very easy to find on the main road of the country side and we kept driving until we found it. The location was great for our weekend planned activities if you travel by car. Blenheim Palace is very close along with lots of other small attractions to fill your weekend. The rooms are large […] and have all of the basic requirements. Clean sheets, warm bed, ensuite, TV and cupboards. They are not fancy but was what we expected for the price and location. There was a little bit of noise from the room above as it was an old Barn style setup, but this did not annoy us. The food inside the Pub for the dinner was great rustic style as expected but the portions were large and the food very fresh. We both enjoyed the wine and occasional conversation from the owners as they moved about the normal business. The Pub itself was small but had a lot of character and charm. It was a very warm and inviting place and the owners were always helpful in directions or advice. The crowd were local middle age individuals and on some nights has its own live local country music. We received a friendly welcome on arrival. Our quaint room was immaculate and very comfortable. The beer and food in the bar were both well presented and satisfying. The location meant a quiet, good night's sleep. Breakfast was hearty and the eggs from the chickens that we bought were excellent. The value for money was exceptional.

Hoewel de kamers niet erg schoon waren, ook niet werden schoongemaakt tijdens ons verblijf en we de bedden zelf moesten opmaken, hebben wij genoten van ons verblijf. De keuze op het menu was niet groot, maar het eten erg goed. De omgeving (Oxford, Woodstoch en Blenheim Palace) is geweldig mooi.
