ink48 hotel, a Kimpton Hotel - New York

Great hotel with excellent rooms! Only complaint - bar staff very slow and preoccupied with goofing off.

I'm a big fan of Kimpton Hotels and the inkHotel is no exception! Fantastic views of NY, large rooms, great restaurant and awesome rooftop bar. If you are on the West Side, it's an ideal spot!

Enjoyed a stay at the Ink48, with great midtown views from my Studio King room. Just a few blocks from the Theater District & Times Square. I had arrived early, but my room wasn't ready yet. So I took a drive downtown, and within 20 minutes the front desk called to tell me that I could check in. The room was great, with large windows overlooking midtown, […] a huge shower with 2 shower heads, one that an NBA player could easily get under. A soaking tub was in the room near the bed. High studio ceilings made the room seem even bigger. Only complaint: valet parking is $55 but that doesn't give you in & out access. So if you want to use your car you will need to find another parking garage, which is a pain. Mehr

The hotel was very impressive and a surprize amongst the car dealerships and auto repair shops on 11th Ave. The room was clean and very contemporary. The bathroom was awesome. The free wine hour was a great touch in the lobby each night. After we returned to the hotel after dinner on Friday night, the lobby bar was closed so we went up to the roof top […] bar. We ordered some wine but there were no seats. Instead of standing, we decided to take our wine down to our room. But the lobby elevator man for the roof top bar would not allow us to return to our room with the glasses. Very odd. I'd stay here again. Very close to Javits Mehr

Ink48 isn't on Times Square or 5th Ave, but it's close enough that everything is within a 10 minute (like Broadway or Times Square) or 20 minute (like Central Park or 5th Ave) walk. It's an easy cab ride to West Village or even Brooklyn. The rooftop lounge has incredible skyline views and so do the cityview rooms. Hotel is in great condition with comfortable […] beds and modern decor. Bathrooms are generously sized. And staff are friendly which is always a huge plus. I highly recommend it for singles or couples. Mehr

I really enjoyed staying at ink48. It's proof that you can find a modern hotel, at a reasonable price, with excellent service in New York City. One minor complaint. The room doors slam when they are closed. It can wake you up. Otherwise: 5 stars. Highly recommended!

The Hotel is very nice and the view from the city from the room and the penthouse bar is fantastic. The room was clean. The bed and pillows were very very comfortable. I appreciated it very much as I was coming back from running NYC marathon. Wine reception was very cool. I am happy wtih the whole experience.

This hotel is fantastic. Great rooms and staff. Very modern and clean. It's not as convenient as some other midtown locations, but when we booked the price was substantially less than comparable hotels closer to the action. I think we paid about $500 less over the week - that's a lot of cabs! The neighborhood is a little industrial, but there's a great […] deli a block away on 10th, and Daisy May's BBQ and the Market Diner just down the road are both great. Mehr

Great hotel. Loved every minute of my stay

My husband and I travel at least once a month and stay in many hotels. My hat is off to the management of this hotel. You have a great staff, for starters. The front desk was extremely helpful. The room was on the large side for NYC and we did not feel cramped, not to mention a nice larger bathroom. The bathroom could use better lighting for woman to […] apply makeup. Our room was very quiet. We never heard any other guests. The conceirge was FABULOUS. He really knows how to read people and what you're looking for. He is very efficient. The rooftop bar is a must. Very roomy, comfortable and spectacular views. We were so surprised. The only thing we didn't care for was the location. It was a haul to get to the subway and there are no cafes or coffee shops in the immediate vacinity. That being said, restaurants and cafes were a short walk. Would we stay here again? Great place. Large rooms (for NY that is). Excellent food on site, which good because you have to walk a few blocks for anything else.

We had the pleasure staying a few days at Ink48. The staff is super friendly and very very helpful. They have a lounge with one of the best view of NYC. This is an excellent hotel!! Fantastic staff! Although it is a little out of the way, it is a good location to walk to great restaurants in Hell's kitchen and nice walks along river. Rooms were clean and quiet. Love the wine reception. The roof top bar is amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Hotel was nice, very clean! Room was very very small for the deluxe king.. Couldn't imagine what the regular king was like! Bathroom also very small with limited counter space, making it hard to get ready. Not exactly what the pictures portrayed it to be. The roof top lounge was very nice but highly over priced for what it is($20 for a vodka tonic). […] Overall I would go somewhere else next time I stay in the city! Mehr

We only stayed 3 days at Ink 48, but we will definitely return again. We were greeted by friendly staff and given a complimentary upgrade to a Hudson suite which had a great view of the river and the Intrepid air museum. The room itself was very clean, with an extremely comfortable bed, early 80's retro styling, 2 flat screen TVs, floor to ceiling windows […] and a very spacious bathroom with separate shower and tub. The hotel itself is not very close to the subway, we took a taxi to most places. It is reasonably close to Times Square and Broadway (about a 15 minute walk). We were unable to make the wine reception held daily at the hotel, but received a complimentary bottle of wine on check-in. I have to make special note of the concierge service. We checked out on a very busy afternoon and he ran for at least 3 blocks to find us an available taxi. Overall we had an amazing stay due in large part to the hotel staff. I highly recommend Ink 48 to anyone looking for a fun and romantic getaway! Mehr

Nice Hotel design, wonderful service and very nice people. We stayed for 4 days with a family of four. The rooms are just big enough, comfortable and very clean. Tipps: Try to get a room above the 6st floor to get a view. Go and make the harbour toor from the Pier just nearby. Also renting a bike at the Pier and drive to the Central Park ad back is […] a nice experince you can do also with kids. There is no pool to cool down after a hot summer day in NYC but all other Pros will make this Hotel a good recomendation. Mehr

Rooftop is a must see!

This was a fabulous hotel. I was in New York for my birthday for a long weekend. The service was superb and the location was great. This is my 4th Kimpton property and they don't disappoint. They run a great a hotel. For my birthday, they gave me a corner room with great views of the city and also sent up champagne and chocolates. What a nice treat! […] I will certainly go there again. We recently stayed at Ink48 for our honeymoon. This place is awesome. We stayed on the 15th floor which provided a city view equivalent to that of the Rockefeller center observation deck. The customer service was amazing, when we needed something they got it to us very quickly. Conveniently located 2 blocks from times square, this oasis hotel is away […] from the noisy hustle bustle of the city but close enough to where you can walk almost anywhere in Manhattan. Mehr

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night, for a short get-away weekend. The room/hotel was clean and we liked the location. It was close enough to the coast to go for some nice walks and close enough to walk to Time Square and attractions/subways. the hotel was really nice and our room was clean! the staff are all friendly and very helpful with any questions that we had. There are a lot of cute, really tasteful restaurants in the surrounding area. Overall we loved our stay and make sure you go on the rooftop to get some drinks, amazing views!

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very professional. The rooftop bar is unbelievable. The location is decent. My only real complaint, and it's pretty minor, is that they did not have an ice machine and it took room service a long time to deliver ice. Overall it is an awesome hotel, and I will definitely stay there the next time I go to NYC.

We checked in on July 3rd and our first impression was that we were bothering the front desk staff. They were not at all friendly. The positives - the rooms were decent and the staff will quickly bring items if you forget them like we did. The negatives - in addition to the snooty front desk staff the bar is outrageously expensive...even for NY. We […] stayed they because they have a rooftop bar and we wanted to watch the fireworks on the 4th. They charged $300 per person which included (limited quality) drinks from 6 to 10, but them charged us for our last round at 9:45 - very high price for 2 beers and a glass of champagne. Just far enough from Times Square to miss the madness, Ink 48 is sleek, modern, comfortable, friendly and full of amenities from the minute you walk in the door. Not only that, they have the best bar in the city, 16 floors up on the roof with a fabulous view over the Hudson. The perfect place this year to party and watch the fireworks. Great boutique hotel in Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. Little bit of a walk to get to sites like Central Park or Times Square but that can be a plus when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of those areas Very cool rooftop bar worth a visit and a few pictures. We were very satisfied with the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The four of us stayed in a king room and a twin room, both were spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel was quite close to Time Square, costed us just a five dollars by taxi. Will definitely stay in this hotel again the next time we go to New York.

My boyfriend and I were there for 1 night only at the end of May. We wanted a high class hotel without paying high costs. When we entered the lobby, we were seduced. The décor is beautiful. The staff is polite, nice & very helpful. Our room was big for a New York city hotel room. Comfort, contemporary furniture, space, nice view! At the bar for a snack, […] the staff was again very friendly, the food was delicious. The complimentary glass of wine (from 5 to 7pm) is such a nice treat from the hotel, thank you. I loved the modern look and feel of the hotel. The room provided plenty of space without wasting any and the bed was very comfortable. The views from the rooftop bar are outstanding. My only slight complaint is that they had rented out the rooftop bar the second night of my stay and it was closed until 11pm. When I returned to my hotel room after a late night dinner to find a large water leak in my bathroom ceiling, I immediately called the front desk. They acted quickly moved me into a lovely suite for that evening's stay. I appreciated the responsive and gracious customer service.

This was a very nice hotel. Our king room was about average sized, not a closet like many hotels in NYC. Staff was friendly and helpful. Decor was modern and swanky. Pros: - Wine reception from 5-6pm. Definitely go. You'll meet some folks who can recommend shows and activities! - Rooftop lounge. Definitely go. Keep in mind drinks are pricey ($10-18) […] so maybe just one or two! Take a camera! - Refreshments. Coffee and tea in the morning. Ice water throughout the day. Perfect for coming in after a day of sightseeing. There's also plenty of seating if you want to sip some water at watch the other guests stroll in. - Pet friendly. We didn't bring a pet, but there was always dog food and a bowl of water at the entrance. Others mentioned pet friendliness. -Easy to get a cab. Even if a bellhop isn't there to assist you, it's easy to hail a cab. Cons: - Location. This was about 3-4 avenue blocks from the closest subway station and about 4 avenue blocks from Times Square. Everything about this hotel was great. They delivered extra clean towels and ice at all hours of the day/night, found us a great pizza delivery service, free wine and coffee. Terrific location, charming rooms. We had lunch at the restaurant in the lobby and everything was outstanding! The downside: The rooftop bar is breathtaking, EXCEPT, there are more security guards than servers and they treat getting up there like it's a private club. Ink48 is a well-appointed newer hotel done in a very modern style--a hotel that should appeal to the 30 and under crowd. I'm not in that category. The lack of a mirror in the room itself was an inconvenience. Yes, there is a full-length mirror in the hallway but that necessitated many trips back and forth to the skimpy tabletop to carry make-up from […] place to place (while the bathroom was occupied by my roommate). The glass wall and door of the bathroom was a bit disconcerting at first, but it is opaque enough. The greatest drawback to the hotel is the location. If you depend on walking out of your hotel, walking three steps to the right or left, and bumping into a restaurant of deli, INK48, is not the hotel for you. It WILL work for the under-30 crowd who don't mind the 14-15 block hike to Times Square--more to Central Park. The pluses--a spectacular rooftop bar. Stunning. The hotel was very nice. We had to spend a lot per evening to stay, and considering that, the room was very small and the service was just okay. We have stayed in Hawaii and other resorts for equal or less which much better accomedations...However, it is NYC, and the rooms are always smaller. Nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. At the price, it should be, but I guess, that is NYC. Hotel was immaculate. Service outstanding, friendly and helpful. Location was not perfect, but certainly not disadventageous. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel stay was such an amazing experience. It was my first time visiting New York and it was SO WORTH THE PRICE. The hotel was within walking distance of Time Square and Pier 88 where our Bermuda cruise was embarking from. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel decor is very hip and cool. The rooftop view is awesome...
