Great facilities at this resort and lovely attentive staff. However, you get a feeling that the owners or management try hard to get as much extra money out of their guests. Everything is overpriced at the resort at 40% to 50% of other hotels we were at. Even by comparison to a 5 start Sofitel resort in Manila, Plantation Bay was expensive. On check […] in there is a condition that forbides a guest from bringing in any externally purchased food or drink - ridiculous condition. So you can't buy beers at Pesos 40 to 50 from outside instead of being charged Pesos 165 plus 12% VAT plus 10% service charge = P201 They took reservations for the theme dinner but did not set up enough tables and places, so many guests had to wait 30 to 40 minutes before eating, at which time a lot of the buffet food was gone and was NOT replenished by the hotel. So you felt rather cheated and inconvenienced by the whole process. We were advised the dinner started at 6.30 pm but when we arrived at 6.35 pm, it looked as if the guests there had been dining for some time already Free airport transfer is on offer but when we asked about the airport transfer, the staff immediately told us the charge for the transfer instead of pointing out the set times for the free transfers first The hotel charges a 10% service charge on top of everything and the staff are not to be tipped as a hotel policy Tour / activity charges are very expensive. Hotel is not crowded, the pools were nice, the lagoon was steps away from my room, but I wished it had sand on them like other lagoons I've been. Overall, disappointed .... I needed in-room Internet as was promised for my business, but it does not exist here .... The lagoon is pretty but too shallow to swim .. And everything is a la carte and they force you to use their taxis at twice or 3 times the local rate ... The restaurants are good ... The staff is nice .. And no tipping allowed..

Everything about the facility was awsome. Rooms were fantastic, staff were very knowledgable, and the property was very beautiful. The only negative I could say is it is more like a waterpark than a true resort. The food in the Kilamanjaro was lacking.

The bed's are hard. Staff was excellent. They were quick to respond to all requests. Would have like to spend an addiitonal day or two at the resort. the big lagoon pools, many to choose from, were great , for adults and children. well set up and maintained . a big site to run and organise which i suspect is a fair cost overhead to have to cover which is i suspect is a contributing factor in regard to my next comments. i felt a lot of the food provision was at the high end of charges in this region […] but low on quality 5* pricing ,3* quality. The Breakfast buffet , highly aclaimed in the in house brochure, was the meanest megre spread i have ever eperienced, the philipino festival and buffet was again megre and mean with some of the main food selections completly run out , within the 1st hour. there are other examples if the hotel wants more feed back. It`s a real shame because i really like the place and the facilities are really good especially for young familles and i dont mind paying the higher prices for food ect, but i expect higher quality, choice and satisfaction less sense of meaness. I would go again and i would recomend others to go and enjoy the facilities make up your own mind on the rest and if you feel simillar let them know maye they will turn this good hotel into a great hotel ! I was pleasantly surprised, experience exceeded expectations. After looking at other resorts, this one turned out to not only be the best value but also a great choice. I travel for a living and decided to stay on short notice at a beach resort. Many great recreational choices, outstanding friendly service, had the fire-dancing and Samba show for free […] right in front of our room. Went snorkling and diving, played pool, darts, table-tennis and had not near enough time in two days to take full advantage of all the activities. Even with the hotel booked at capacity and day-trippers visiting, the saltwater pools and freshwater pools are large enough to make the place not crowded. As the island is a coral island, do not expect a sandy beach but fine granular rocks. Water is clean and teeming with fish. We definitely will visit again as the location is very convenient, 15 minutes from the airport with plenty to do outside as well, should you choose to. Mehr

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable albeit brief visit to your hotel. We enjoyed a good evening meal at the Palermo restaurant followed by drinks and Karaoke at the bar near to the Savanah Grill. There was also a very good live entertainment at both venues. We would certainly consider revisiting with our grand son.

Beautfiul hotel, Great location, nice lagoon, nice romantic view but a bit expensive for what service/compliment that you receive. I would stay here for one or two night but not the whole time. Not a good value for the money compare to other hotels around the same area.

We booked for a lagoon view only to be checked in to a room with barely a glimpse of what doesn't even look like a lagoon. As a matter if fact, the view was primarily trees & what looked like the backside of shops. We felt so cheated :( We were then shown a "showroom" which they could not give us because of some "ceiling damage" so we were temporarily […] moved to a different room (what was the point of that?). By the 3rd day (of our supposed 4 day 3 night stay), they finally moved us to the room we originally booked & paid for only to prepare to check out the following day... Worst of all, the AC didn't even work for hours :(( The hotel is not deserving of a 4- or 5-star rating. While the front desk staff & the beach were nice, the experience of waiting for our accommodations to be corrected everyday & moving from one room to another for most of our stay was far from relaxing or enjoyable... Try that with 2 toddlers along for the ride. The hotel food is just ok. You're better off asking the locals to take you to outside restaurants & eateries to really appreciate Cebu's fine cuisine. The gigantic man-made lagoon is something to behold, not to mention another 4 or 5 swimming pools plus an ocean beach. Went during spring break and the kids LOVED the pools & lagoons! Many options of where to swim, and the pool & lagoons are open 24 hours, you just need to be respectful of the fact that all rooms face the water, although we never had anything to complain about. They could use more chairs around the main pool & diving rock as you had to claim early and […] hold all day, not ideal. Top facilities and accommodations, although we were on the opposite side from the roosters, so double check that if you are a light sleeper. Not to far to Cebu City for shopping/movies/"regular mall" although getting a cab (about 250P) was not always guaranteed and you might be stuck with a resort car charging three times the price for only one way. If you want an all inclusive, this is not the place. If you are looking for options and want control over how much you spend after you get there, then this is. You can sign for everything to be charged to your room. After 6 full days our family of 4 had only $800 to the resort, including most meal and kayak rentals, all but 4 meals at the resort. Overall a very great place to go, let the kids play in the water & either join them, relax with a book, or head to the spa. I would definitely recommend it to others. Although we ended up seeing mostly families, there were also a few newlyweds there - although we never saw the couple we met on the plane...hope they had a great trip! Mehr

That's the way(see title) I felt as soon as we entered the resort. What a beautiful, general lay out/design.And, a little different as far as the concept of not worrying about tipping everytime some staff does something for a guest makes one feel more relaxed.The multiple activities one can partake in while in the resort is a big PLUS.And, not having […] regular road traffic within assures guests of cleaner air and less chances of being involved in a motor vehicle accident. We stayed here in January 2011 for 4 days with our 2 small children (4,6). The rooms were in good shape. They were older than I would expect, but were clean and comfortable. We also experienced the Luao, which although was not Hawaii, had very good food and was a lot of fun. The pools were excellent. The main freshwater pool is really geared towards kids as its quite shallow and our kids had a great time. It was tough to pry them away! The kids also enjoyed some of the nightlife as our younger daughter was up on stage singing with the entertainers. It was great to see the staff was so willing to include our kids. Not much to do outside the resort. We did venture out one night for dinner to a Sutukil restaurant in the north part of the island near the Lapu Lapu Monument. Definately recommend utilizing the hotel transportation, especially if unfamiliar with the area. It was more expensive, but worth it. Problem was that it took 30-40 mins to get there. The hotel was great for us traveling w two boys ages 9 & 7, they were very happy with all the activities. Boat & bike rental, climbing wall, diving rock & wafer slides. The beach was a disappointment but having the sea water lagoon was a plus. Would suggest the suites over the regular room.

we stayed at a few similar resorts in Cebu before but not any more. The value for money at the P.Bay is fantastic. Large number of very nice pools including a salt water one which is the size of a small lake rather than just a pool. Private beach with all the usual water sport activities and a lot of other stuff to do too - my girlfriend loved the shooting […] range. Restaurants are all nice serving good food from burgers to seafood. Location wise it's not great but that's probably to be expected considering the size of the place, but we didn't really see a reason to leave the resort for weeks anyway. They have little buses going round otherwise you would end walking for ages. All in all, we couldn't really find anything wrong, even the staff was fantastic. Top marks from me... Mehr
