Das Wyvern ist ein top Hotel in top Lage. Durch den Sturm vor einigen Jahren wurde das Hotel kpl. neu gebaut - deshalb auch alles perfekt bis ins Detail. Drumherum fehlt noch etwas und um etwas zu sehen an Shops, oder Restaurants muss man etwas fahren. Das Hotel selbst ist unbedingt empfehlenswert. 2 recent stays of 2 nights each in to attend Tampa Bay Rays games @ nearby Charlotte Sports Park. Lulu's restaurant was a very pleasant surprise with 3 course dinner offerings that were very tempting and well executed. The Wyvern was conveniently located to restaurants, bars, shops and the conference center. The rooftop bar offered wonderful views and great food.

Walking distance to Restaurantes and the pool anb Bar at the Roof top is amazing. Very clean and no parking fees.

We only stayed one night at the Wyvern Hotel in Punta Gorda, but it was very very nice and affordable. We would definitely stay there again. It was very modern and clean. We had a lovely breakfast in the hotel dining room.

My wife and I stayed here for two days over Thanksgiving. The hotel staff was excellent, the meals in the dining room were fantastic and our room was perfect. This is a VERY nice hotel, the nicest of all the ones we stayed in during our visit to Florida. I would highly recommend this hotel. Lovely check-in experience even though there was no valet, (wierd for a hotel of this caliber). My favorite part was the super comfortable bed and the soft yet crisp sheets that smelled like I washed them!

Would have liked coffee in room...either a coffee maker or room service before 8:00 am. We wake up early.

My favorite hotel in Punta Gorda!

Best place to stay in PG. rooftop bar was great on friday night. too crowded on saturday night. rooms are large, clean nicely decorated and comfortable.

We stayed here a total of 3 nights. The rooms seemed to be very new. But i believe they said the hotel in 2yrs old. Very nice comfortable bed, huge bathroom that my woman loved. Separate glass shower, and tub. The price was very right!!

This is a nice hotel on the inside, the outside looks plain nothing fancy. The room was nice and the bathroom was incredible. I only have one complaint which is that they had noisy neighbors. From 8am to 12 midnight a Mexican restaurant called Dean's Tex Mex had live music keeping me up all night. Had to wear ear plugs.

I can not say enough great things about this hotel. Great room, roof top bar where you watch the sun go down over the Gulf. Great food, close to everthing. I am not easily impressed. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Having had to go to the Small Town of Punta Gorda. This is a First Class Hotel. I felt that I was staying in a 5 Star NY Hotel.They Have a Roof Top Pool/Bar Area that is Great, Walking Distance to Restaurants and Night Life. Staff was outstanding. The rooms were clean and very nice. The bed was comfortable. The roof top pool and bar have a nice ambiance especially in the late afternoon on a nice spring day.

Great Hotel! Room was exceptional, had the best nights sleep. Hotel staff was wonderful, and the restaurant food was superb! Especially enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar. Had a great holiday,, thanks so much!

A bit pricey but clean, conveniently located, with a nice pool and bar on the roof-top/ Staff very friendly. Pool a bit small with limited seating capacity. Property more for adults than families (imho).

Great hotel. A nice find. I've been visiting family in Punta Gorda for years. Glad the Wyvern is there! Coffee service is available in the lobby restaurant after 8am. This is of no help when you have to leave at 6:30 to catch a flight. PLEASE ADD COFFEE MAKERS TO ROOMS!!!!!!

This new hotel has a wonderful roof-top pool with bar/food service and a great view. The rooms are very nice. My wife continued to rave over the large and beautiful bath room with spa tub and large, separate marble shower. There is a small work-out room but no business center, however they readily loan out a net-book and the desk staff could NOT be […] friendlier or more accommodating. The immediate neighborhood is mostly vacant, which diminished the ambiance. There is a fun, but loud bar next to the parking lot, but it wasn't an issue in our room and got quieter later in the evening. There are a few other restaurants and businesses down town but mostly a desolate area at night. We didn't love the area, but this is the place to stay if you are there. Mehr

I stay at the Wyvern often. The staff makes you feel at home and as if you belong at their hotel. I stay at a lot of hotels, and this is my favorite hotel.

Beautiful hotel - immaculate. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Great location. Parking was a little tricky as parking lot, though reserved for guests, was accessible to anyone. You have to visit the rooftop pool / out door area. The view, overlooking the Harbor, is just pristine. Thoroughly enjoyed the hotel restaurant - food was delicious. This was the worst example of hotel discourtesy and mismanagement. March reservations were not held despite being paid for in January and confirmed prior to arrival. No rooms that were reserved were available. No help was provided in finding other hotel accommadations. Manager was unavailable. An excellent boutique hotel close to all restaurants and must see sites in the Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte areas. Rooms are well done and the roof lounge offers great views and an excellent meeting and cocktail experience. The food is good and should focus more on local selections. Room was spacious and extremely nice. a bit of noise from the Mexican place on the east side (our room was on that side), but we decided to go check out the noise and found a really great bar and good food. My daughter surprised us with a night stay at this beautiful and modern hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel with no hesitation.

This was a nice hotel. What I don't understand is why hotels that claim to be luxury hotels use the roughest, cheapest toilet paper. You can provide all the toiletries you want but why don't you get something everyone would like...decent TP. The other problem with the hotel is that their is a Tex-Mex restaurant right across the parking lot that plays […] LOUD music late into the evening. We had difficulty falling asleep because of the noise. Overall I liked the place but would not stay there again know how loud the music is close by. Also, the Wyvern has a restaurant/bar and it seems as though the guests staying at the hotel have to wait until they bar patronsleave if they want a parking place as the lot was full when we got back one evening at 9:30-10:00PM. With one very important exception, everything about the WYVERN is quality. The one exception is the proximity to a bar/lounge across the parking lot which plays LOUD music. We heard the music on the weekend until midnight one day and 2:00 A.M. on another. The front desk made it a point to fill the rooms away from the noisy side but we had already checked […] in and unpacked when we discovered the problem. I suggest booking a room on the street side of the hotel if you're not into listening to loud music after 11:00 P.M. Mehr

Very clean hotel all the way around. Great rooftop pool and lounge. Friendly and helpful staff. The only problem was there is no coffee in the room and the restaurant has limited hours.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. The staff was at attentive and the food at the restaurant suberb. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom has no ventilation so it got HOT, HOT, HOT in there when trying to get ready for dinner. The hotel states it is NON SMOKING and even has you sign something when you check in that you won't smoke, but the […] amount of people smoking on the rooftop bar/restaurant area contradicts this. Is is a deterent to those who want to enjoy the best part of this hotel the POOL and rooftop area. They just need to decide smoking or NOT. Mehr

My wife and I spent three nights at the Wyvern. We both consider it one of the best hotels -- of hundreds -- we have stayed at. Staff, cleanliness and facilities were all first rate. Room was spacious and attractive. At the time, cost was a little higher than those quoted on the internet for hotels nearby, but worth it.

The hotel is just a couple of years old but looks brand new. The room was clean and nicely-designed and the bed quite comfortable. Bathrooms feature a separate tub and shower and are lit in a non-harsh way that is quite relaxing. An outlet, however, did not work and the rooms lamps were tied to switches across the room in a way that was confusing. The […] hotel's staff was quite courteous (even cleaning ladies greeted us). The hotel restaurant featured an unusual menu and we were served later than the listed hours. The food was great. This hotel is definitely a cut above anything you can find in PG or in the region in general and we were able to get a great rate thru Hotels.com. The only potential downsides were a confusing parking situation (plenty of parking, but unclear what was restaurant and what was hotel parking) and a band playing on the roof that we could hear several floors down. I suppose it would be cool to hear them up there and the view would be great, but we couldn't imagine the situation of anyone staying on the fifth floor.
