We had a difficult time finding th place through GPS, in the end it shares an address with a Red Roof Inn. The front desk was helpful and accomodated our early arrival. We were given a smoking room when we had requested a non-smoking. The hotel seemed in need of some updating, but its an economy hotel... nothing more, nothing less.

This place is ok if you are not looking for luxury, The room was clean and spacious. The price was moderate. The location was very good., It was close to shopping and many attractions. The breakfast was nothing to write home about and if you love your coffee, skip it. But, I would return if I needed to be in the area.

For the price it was excellent

Overall, for the purposes of out trip, which was two nights, it was fine, especially for the price. We did not realize that there was a free breakfast which was a plus. Room was neat as were the grounds. Easy location right at I-95. Mattresses were a little uncomfortable, and the oddest thing, no shelves in the shower to place soap and shampoo. Bathroom […] however was huge!! May not be a place to stay for a whole week but definitely would go back for a weekend. Mehr

Although the hotel was clean and service was good. The beds were small and the heating unit was LOUD and prevented any rest. It was like a boat engine

We obtained this hotel room as an affordable alternative to getting a room at the casino. When we arrived back at the hotel after an evening out we found several parties going on. Exit doors were propped open and strangers were free to mill in and out. The desk clerk was notified by myself, but he did not address the situation. In addition, at one point […] I had to retrieve something out of my car and was subjected to cat-calls and various other "advances" by the several party goers that were milling though-out the hallway near our room. We listened to them yell, hollar and play music until 4am. It was horrible. Mehr

I was a little hesistant when booking this hotel because of all the negative reviews that I saw through hotels.com. However, I was very pleasantly surprised upon arrival! The hotel is right off of the highway, and very easy to find (at least, it was with the help of my GPS, who took us straight there with no hiccups). The people at the front desk were […] very friendly and the room was very nice. It was extremely clean and we even had a beautiful view of the pond outside (complete with a fountain and bushes around the water). When we first arrived in the room, it was very gold (temperature on the thermostat showed 62 degrees). It took quite a while to warm up, and for a long time the heater was even blowing cold air! We called the front desk, and they immediately said that they would send someone over. Fortunately, the air did start to warm up, so a visit from the maintenance crew was not necessary. However, it would be nice if they would keep the room at a livable temperature (65 or 67 maybe) prior to the arrival of the guests. I didn't especially like having to sit in the room with my coat and gloves on, but fortunately it was not something which impacted our stay. I will also say that the continental breakfast is very skimpy; their options included: bagels, toast, dry cereal, orange juice, apple juice and coffee. If you're grabbing something on the way, then I suppose this would suffice, but it was certainly not impressive. All in all though, I would say that the hotel was worth the money (although not any more). It was a comfortable and clean room, so it served its purpose. Mehr

First night we were given a smoking room when specifically we reserved a nonsmoking room and had to change 11 pm at night. First morning the continental breakfast very less than appealing. No milk or juice available, asked the front desk clerk at 620 in the morning and the answer was "I will be setting the milk and juice out at 630", signs indicated […] breakfast at 600 am. Second night coming back to the room and the room was not cleaned, had to leave for 30 minutes so the room could be cleaned. I called choice hotels about all of this at the time of occurrence and not provided support. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Mehr

Price for room was great....very spacious and clean. although not the hotel's fault, it is located in a very inconvenient place and difficult to find.

The hotel has just been remodelled and the rooms very comfortable. The continental breakfast, fair; coffee, juice, cold cereal, bagels and toast. Would recommend "Goldies" for breakfast, as told its where the locals eat, very good. Centrally local to Mohegan Sun, Mystic, and Abbots Lobster in the Rough!

The first thing I noticed was that the hallway and then the room had a funny odor. I'm not quite sure what it was. Thought it would go away when we turned on the a/c but it didn't. The room was OK but needed updating. The tub had a chip in it, the pillows were horrible. Small and fat. Difficult to get comfortable. We paid more for this room than we […] would have had we gone to pretty much any other hotel 2-3 star hotel in the area. The Clarion name brought us to this hotel. We have a daughter that travels for soccer and often stay at Clarion hotels. An example of why to not judge a hotel by the chain. Mehr

Great Room, Clean, Limited Staff, Clarion needs to put something on hall doors so as they do not slam. One night people checked in very late and key did not work. They went down and back to front desk at least 5 times which resulted in 10 times of door slamming. This needs to be addressed. I would definaltey stay agian. Maybe ask that the hall doors […] remain open so as to not to have to listen to it. Hotel not easy to find but, we saw other comments and had a head up. Even though it was somewhat obscure they were sold out on a Saturday night. Mehr

We had a lot of trouble finding this hotel. Mtgs name had changed and it wasn't in the GPS. Also, it is located on a one way marginal road and the sign was so new it wasn't lighted. It was a very rainy night which made it even more difficult. My only negative is that breakfast consisted of dry cereal,and bagels, it could have been better. Over all a […] good place to sleep. The Hotel Clarion, being in New London, Connecticut, inevitably has its rating affected by one's perceptions of New London. In New London in general, I found people in various hospitality industry jobs to be friendly and helpful. But New London needs a couple of improvements. First, every corner of every intersection should have a signpost naming the […] streets! Failure to display street names prominently leaves motorists confused and prone to accidents. Second, somewhere in its description, it should be mentioned that the Hotel Clarion is accessible via Bayonet Street, as well as North Frontage Road. Traffic around the Bayonet Street entrance is pleasantly calmer than that around the North Frontage Road entrance. Mehr

There was a stinch in the room upon arrival, I paid the same price as a friend who went and yet we didn't get the same ammenities of a Fridge or Microwave in the room which was inconvenient in addition to the only vending machine on site being out of order. No nearby convenient stores or coffee shops. Will not stay there again.

Its a little confusing to get here, but once here its great. the hotel is under construction, but its not an eyesore. the room was comfy, no flat screen tv's here, the pool was open and looked nice, there was a meeting happening so there was a good amount of people there. Overall a great experience. Will come to this hotel again!

Hotel still needs alot of work done for renovations. There is very limited staffing, no manager on duty the whole time we were there and on one of the busiest weekends for the city. Was given a room where the TV didn't work properly (and they knew it), so we had to move from our room to another. When checking out there was no one at the front desk, […] had to wait almost 1/2 hr for the person to come off of lunch. They need more staffing. We had problems with the wireless internet connections and they had to look at it. The room was very clean but since I have stayed there before the hotel change, the only thing they did differently was to change some of the softgoods, rug bedding. No where on the building of this hotel or on a sign is the name "Hotel Latitude 41" listed, so you will not find it easily. The sign posted on the road lists it as, "Clarion Hotel coming soon"....so confusing. We had a non-smoking room that reeked of smoke. The pillows on the bed were miniature in size (1/2 the size of a standard pillow and we had a […] king sized bed). Mehr

It is difficult to find because there are no sign from the front or rear when coming from the road, nor is there a sign anywhere in the building. I wasted a lot of time searching for the hotel, as did others that I talked to.

Made Reservation with Latitude 41...when I called because we couldn't find it (GPS did not recognize the address), they answered "Holiday Inn", but at check in I saw signs that said it was going to be a Clarion!! Very confusing! Extremely difficult to find..it is behind another motel. They are in middle of renovation so restaurant /lounge was not open. Seem […] to be understaffed...at check in the only person manning the front desk was off getting towels for a pool goer...at check out, the only person manning the front desk was off getting coffee for the lobby. Room, however, was very nicely renovated and very clean. Pool area was clean but had no towels. Renovated common areas were clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of parking. Conveniently located next to a mall and restaurants. I would stay there again now that I know there it is. Mehr

The service was extremely good. Very accomidating and curtious. The rooms were kept well by the cleaning staff and it was very quiet. I would definitly stay again and i am soon. I only regret forgetting to leave a tip for the cleaning staff ,so my next stay i will remember not to forget. If you want to stay in a clean and quiet hotel i recommend you […] stay too.The hotel is a short drive to good food,and the beach/ocean. There is alot to do and see in the area.We had a great time. I want my money back. Hotel is impossible to find. They just changed from Holiday Inn to Langitude and now they are changing to Clarion hotels so there are no sign with hotel name. You are getting into dirty building with no marking. Hotel is nicely hidden in the back behind Ouback Steakhouse. In the front outside of the building there were rolls or […] old dirty carpet. If they were to clean out the hotel they should keep it in the back out of sight. Hotel Room was clean but it was a quality of cheap motel. Definately not the place for the price we paid. The website needs to update the correct address, when you use gps, you need to punch in 269 Bayonet St. which we learned after trying to find the hotel for a half hour. Got very frustrating. Even thou the hotel is totally under construction, they need to put up temp. signs so people from out of state don't get so lost. The room itself was beautiful, […] and the front desk guy was good. The only other thing we felt the hotel needed was more of a secure building. We got back to the hotel very late and walked right in thru front doors and upstairs to rooms. THIS HOTEL WAS VERY HARD TO FIND. THERE IS NO SIGN ANYWHERE FOR HOTEL LATITUDE. WE HAD A GPS AND WE STILL HAD TO STOP FOR DIRECTIONS. COME TO FIND OUT THIS HOTEL WAS BOUGHT BY CLARION HOTELS AND THERE WAS A SIGN FOR CLARION ON THE HIGHWAY. THE HOTEL IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TOTALLY REMODELED. OUR ROOM WAS GREAT. OUTBACK RESTAURANT IS RIGHT IN FRONT […] OF THE HOTEL SO LOOK OR ENTER IT IN YOUR GPS AND YOU'LL BE FINE. Mehr

It seems that the management of this hotel is changing and that we arrived in the midst of a redesign. There were no signs for this hotel anywhere - including on the buiding itself and the driveway was blocked by enormous rolls of carpet. Seriously, no joke. The bathroom was not clean (in fact, quite gross) and the room had a lingering smell of cigarette […] smoke, even though I got a non-smoking room. For one night, it was passable but I couldn't say it was anything beyond that. It's close to Conn Coll and that's really the only reason to stay there. Mehr
