Paradise Palms was a lovely place to stay. We recently spent five nights in a one bedrom apartment and had a great time. Kitchen facilities are good with all utensils provided, except tongs. Compendium advises that BBQ utensils are available at reception, but not once in our five enquiries to get some, were there any available, which made Bbqing fun, […] but nothing that a trip to the local supermarket couldn't fix, we bought our own for $3, but really it wouldn't have hurt to have these in each apartment! Outlook of the rooms over the pool, adventure playground and golf course was nice. Probably would not stay over a weekend again as the playground went loudly until 9.00pm and kind of distracted from the serenity. Not that I have any problem with kids having fun, was good to see, but if you have a problem with that, Friday and Saturday nights were quite loud. The Golf Course itself was wonderful. A good test of skill, or lack there of! Restaurant on site was very nice with a great choice in menu and pricing. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great destination for a few days break from reality. Mehr

Loved loved loved the Paradise Palms Resort - it was perfect for our 2 year old, he had a ball on the many different playgrounds and jumping pillows and he loved strolling through the shallow pool! A beautiful resort and very peaceful. Will definitely recommend it and visit again!

We had a two-bedroom apartment, but really, two ajoining rooms. This may not suit families as there was a separate door into the second room. Telephone/booking service was appalling prior to our stay. i wanted to change the booking and it took several calls and emails to achieve a minor change. But resort is nice. We ate,slept, played, swam and walked in the fresh air. This holiday was ideal for us. We had previously stayed at Paradise Palms at christmas time and had such a relaxing stay we booked again in May. Peaceful Bliss!

We found the hotel was a great location half way between cairns and pt. douglas. Beautiful surrounds as it was the quite season a few things took longer to clean up than high season we gathered i.e. pool area after saturday and sat nights party goers was a little messy. All in all we will be back very friendly staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My stay at this resort was fantastic didn't want to leave ! The room was amazing was on the second level over looking the pool. The staff were very kind and helpful . The surrounding enviornment is excellent and the location was good. 5 minutes to the shops and about 20 to cairns. I would go back there if I go back to cairns! Very much recommended  […] ! Mehr

When we checked in on 12/23/2011 later evening. The hotel had full filled a lot of different bugs. I asked the front desk worker why there were so many bugs all around the lobby and hall way to the room? He told us because for natural environment protection, so they can not kill those bugs. They need to protect those bugs. My husband and I need to cover […] our face and head and rushed running to the room. And close the room door as fast we can. We were very happy with our 10 nights at the Paradise Palms resort in December/January. The rooms are spacious and extremely well equipped. A full sized fridge, toaster, microwave and oven, all necessary dishes and food preparation supplies, a dishwasher, and even a washer/dryer in the bathroom! We were able to do all of our grocery shopping at the […] nearby Coles and prepare breakfasts and dinners at the apartment, as well as packed lunches for all of our days out. With the price of convenience food in Australia, this saved us a fortune! Having come from the USA and staying for such a long stretch, it was also wonderful to be able to do our washing and not worry about rationing the clean clothes. Two sinks in the bathroom was a great treat, the shower was lovely, and the view out over the rainforest from the balcony on which we ate our meals could not have been more perfect. The roadway out front is extremely quiet because the resort is well back away from the main drag (the Captain Cook Highway) and the little road in front of the hotel leads only as far as the clubhouse. The playground is SUPERB!!! Absolutely wonderful. My son is nearly 8 and loved every minute that he spent out there. There are a variety of play structures for the older kids, three awesome big play houses, a baby play area, a toddler area, and the most fun bounce pillow imaginable! The pools were also great, with a larger lap pool up top that was good for swimming or exercise, and a really warm family pool down near the hotel that we used for our evening swims before bed. Laying in the warm pool as you gaze up at the night sky with palm trees all around -- this was heaven for a Midwesterner in the middle of northern wintertime! We found our room to be VERY quiet right up until our last two nights. I'm not sure if there hadn't been anybody above us until that point, or if the new residents were simply a whole lot louder. My husband and i stayed here for 9 days on our honeymoon. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was great. However it is a little bit out of the way, i.e. we had to get a taxi to go to the beach and out to dinner (other than the hotel restaurant). This probably is part of the reason that the hotel restaurant is very expensive, nice food but […] you pay through the nose. A schooner of beer is over $6. However the part i had the biggest gripe with, was that for the duration of our stay our room wasn’t serviced once. This was supposedly due to "different packages". However i find that ridiculous, it’s not like we stayed for 2 days we were there for over a week and we had to pay for fresh towels extra sachets of coffee, tea, milk. We even had to go and ask for more toilet paper. This really bought down my overall opinion of the place. Mehr

This hotel ruined our holiday. All we wanted was a nice relaxed family holiday. Staff were rude and unhelpful rooms was dirty. Hair in all rooms, food under the couch and dirty bath tubs. Hotel is so far away from everything you can't just pop to the shops to get milk, the food there is quite expensive. Restaurant was so slow we had to ask ten times […] for everything. The apartment was functional and well equipted, the sofa bed couch needs upgrading. You need a car to get around the local area as it is isolated from shops, beaches. The customer service is very poor. We booked through your promotion of %50 off and was given the first floor room over looking the carport entrance to the hotel. Perhaps its should be […] put in your advertising pay less...get the worst room with the galvinised view!!! We were relocated reluntley, and told that the hotel was heavly booked. We had a pleasant stay in Paradise Palms and the apartment was very comfortable with great kitchen facilities. The only thing we were disappointed in was that there was no room service for the whole week we were there and we had the same towels for the 7 days. They did say we could take the used ones down to reception and change them for clean ones […] which we were not inclined to do. We would however stay there again if we go to the Cairns area. Mehr

A fantastic 2 bedroom apartment - extremely comfortable. Pool area is great, but could do with some shade for the kids! Kids play area at the adjoining Country Club could do with an update, but the kids loved it. A great family stay.

A visit to Paradise Palms Resort and Country Club happened by chance rather than design but what a joy it was! I purchased some cheap deals for my man and I and a couple of our friends living in Cairns and we had 2 nights at this great resort. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Check in and out was no fuss. We hadn't booked interconnecting […] rooms but they were happy to make the change to accomodate us so we could socialise. The rooms were beautifully clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. The facilities were fantastic, with 2 pools, great grounds and everything we needed available or close by. The resort's in a great location between Cairns and Port Douglas. The staff didn't treat us any differently just because we got a cheap deal and even better they offered us another brilliant deal as we were checking out which I can't take up but our friends and some of their friends (all locals) are certainly going to take advantage of. I can not speak highly enough of this resort. The staff were great, the hotel room was super clean (and I'm fussy with cleanliness), facilities were great, airconditioner worked so well I had to turn it down (and it was hot outside!) Pools were clean and in great condition. What I also loved was that there wasn't a bug or any insect at all in my room, […] and with the amount outside I was pleasantly surprised. We have been to Paradise Palms twice now. Couldn't wait to get back after our first visit. We stayed in a bedroom apartment, and there is every facility available. The rooms are spacious have a lovely balcony to sit and listen to the birds in the morning. There is television in the lounge room and bedroom. Absolutely loved it here. We are locals and it's less than a 10 minute drive from home - one of the reasons why I wanted to spend my birthday there this year - so close to home but you feel like you could be a million miles away. It's also only a 10 min drive or less to the shops, restaurants & beach but we never left once during our stay of 4 days. […] There was no need to as everything is there for an enjoyable stress free time. The food was superb & reasonably priced. The rooms are fantastic - modern, clean & comfy with good quality furnishings etc & balcony. But the main reason for our choice to stay at Paradise Palms is because of the fun amenties for the kids. They have a huge playground in lush green surroundings with a jumping pillow, swings, gorgeous cubby houses, climbing frames, swimming pool & mini golf. It was great to sit & relax out on the bar & restuarant deck having a few coldies overlooking the beautiful golf course & watching the kids having so much fun, not to mention the view extending to the mountains. We had a beautiful weekend away at this resort and i have no hesitation to recommend it to anyone looking for the quiet getaway. It has a lot of extras to keep you occupied if that is what you seek. There are two very beautiful pools to choose from, mini golf and a childrens play ground, five star golf course and a lovely restaurant. we dined in the […] restaurant for both breakfast and diner and had beautiful food and service on both ocassions. The grounds and the views are truly lovely and there is a tranquil feeling to the area. Although not far from beaches and shopping, it is set beneath the hills and away from all traffic noise. They provide a courtesy bus to Palm Cove.The rooms are amply furnished and the bathrooms are immense, complete with separate shower and full size bath tub. All in all I dont believe you could fault this resort in any way. We live in Cairns and often have weekends away in the local area and this rated as one of the best, the perfect getaway from normal hustle and bustle. Mehr

We stayed in a lovely, relatively new one bedroomed apartment. Very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Flat screen TVs in both lounge + bedroom. Very roomy. My only complaint about the room is that the shower nozel is quite tiny so not that good when washing your hair. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Both the pools are excellent. My […] only complaint, is that they have built a childs' playground right next to the lap pool which makes it rather noisy when you are trying to relax by the pool, plus the complex rents itself out for childrens' birthday parties and 8 or so little children running around screaming and yelling whilst you are trying to chill out by the pool is also rather distracting. These occur around 4pm in the afternoon so if you want peace and quiet I suggest you go elsewhere during that time. We had played golf at Paradise Palm during our two previous stays in Far North Queensland and have no complaints about the golf course and we would be happy to return to the place again. Mehr

Luxury accommodation at a budget price! Only complaint is that you had to pay for pool towels - only $2each but surely they should be included. Excellent place to go with kids, the pool has a great wadding section and also the playground is excellent
