The beach is beautiful and the small wall offers some shelter from the vendors on the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was fine. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Would recommend this property for those not wanting an all-inclusive. Good value.

When we arrived at ROOMS around 4PM, our room was not ready. We waited and then checked in. The cleaning staff was just out of our room, door still open. We saw that it was not a King size bed room like we have booked but a two beds room. We asked if there was a mistake but the cleaning lady just ask us if the room was okay for us...well...yes it was […] in fact alright, just not what we expected. The pool was nice, we spent a day by the pool even if I drove all the way to Negril for the beach...There was a cold front so a lot of wind and waves made the beach not calm enough to swim safely. The continental breakfast included in our price was not worth it. You wait so long for it, you are starving and when your plate finally arrives, it looks so small. You have a couple of bread slices, a pastry and two fruit with orange juice and coffee if you are lucky. On our check-out date, around 10:30 AM, the cleaning lady aked us if we were checking out soon because the next guest for our room were already here. Check out is at 11 AM, we asked if we could extend just for 15 minutes, they did not want to, and told us to check with the front desk....I did not want to fight only for a 15 minutes deal. The check-in time at 3PM? Why those guest were getting special treatment? I was not happy about this. The only good thing about this hotel is the convenience of their location, right on the seven mile beach and tons of restaurants and activity nearby. Mehr

All aspects of our stay were excellent, we were pleasantly surprised by the property, it's on the beach, nice size room with an updated shower, well maintained grounds, large pool, excellent food, fully stocked bar and very pleasant and helpful staff, we are going back to the area in May and will be sure to stay at Rooms

The hotel is fairly new so the room had modern furniture, a nice flat screen TV and modern bathroom. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator and an ice machine nearby. The location on the beach is great.

Hotel was excellent- whole property was clean and room was perfect. AC was SUPER! We had a garden view room, and the patio was nice to have- they even go so far as to have the special "anti-bug" yellow lights out there so you don't get eaten up. Would pay a little extra to have one of the ocean facing rooms for sure. Having the low "wall" was really […] nice to keep out of the vendor path when you wanted to. Security was top-notch- both in the front by the street and on the beach side. Breakfast was fine, with all the options from the "usual" vendors for add-ons (fresh juice, patties, banana bread etc..) it was nice- and coffee was great! Went to ther places for lunch. Would love drink service within the "walled" in area of the beach- we'd never get up!! Over all, great hotel and great service for a smaller caribbean hotel. It's not a grand lux place with all the bells and whistles, AI kind-of resort, but we didn't want that- so if your looking for a great smaller hotel, this is a great find. Negril beach was very pretty- though the nonstop vendors ("smoke" seller, boat guys, trinket ppl, etc.) really took away form the beauty of the location. Mehr

Great as usual, stayed here at least 6 times and always pleased. Execellent Hotel and Staff, very clean, and updated. Bar and Resturant is execellent but need later hours it close to early. Pool always clean and working. Room clean and fresh, very comfortable. Staff is EXCELLENT..A+ hotel.

My Husband and I go back to jamaica every couple of years because that's his home. Each time we go we have stayed at various non-all inclusives. Very good hotel in a ideal location in Negril. Rooms were spacious, air conditioning very good. I was pleasantly surprised at the value and location coupled with its location on the beach and proximity to good restaurants. Security and service were excellent. The breakfasts, and water pressure weren't 5 star but I wasn't expecting it to be like home, […] both were easily acceptable. First of all they over booked the hotel and didn't have a room for us when we got there so they sent us to another Hotel with the promise it would be ready @ 11 A.M. the next day. The place they sent us to was a dump, no locks for the room safe so we had to carry all of our valuables on us until the following after noon. Toilet didn't flush properly. […] The vent from the fans on the restaurant roof next to it ran 24/7. We got back there @ 11 A. M. and the room was not ready, nor was it ready at noon, 1 or 2 P.M. finally we got into the room @ 3 P.M. They said they would give us 2 free nights for the next time we came there. We got that certificate on Wednesday and there was so many stipulations you would never be able to use it. The Continental breakfast was adequate but you waited a hour and a half to get it. Our room got cleaned at 3 P.M. everyday, just about the time we wanted to get cooled of and maybe rest a bit. Except for the morning we left, then they were there @ 10 A.M. knocking on our door asking what time we were leaving so they could clean it. Would never suggest this place to anyone and won't ever go back to it. We spoke with the Manager on Wed. night and told her of our problems with the place. Very poor management. Mehr

We had a great stay at Rooms. The beds were quite firm but clean. The room was large and had a nice little balcony. Although, the rooms closer to the street had issues with motorbike noise at night. And when my husband left his shoes on a parasailing boat, the front desk staff went out of their way to track down who ran the boat and have them return […] our shoes to the hotel for us. That was amazing of them! The restaurant on site is limited but the few things they do serve are really good and they have great Jamaican chicken patties! Our TV had issues and we didn't find out until the rain started! However, the maintenance staff was on site within 20 minutes and had it fixed within 3 minutes!!! That was great. There were two main issues why I would not recommend this hotel: 1. There is a local bar next door which blasts music all day long not ending until about 2:00am making it difficult to sleep. 2. Also that restaurant and bar close at 5:00pm daily so therefore you cannot get a drink or something to eat on site after that time. Also the one day we had […] lunch the menu was very limited as they only had three types of sandwiches. The bar also had a limited alcohol selection much of which was bottom shelf. 3. There is a complimentary continental breakfast offered with your room that some prior quests complained about but I thought it was generous as you got two pieces of toast, 2 sweet cake items, fresh fruit, hard boiled egg, juice and unlimited coffee and hot tea. 4. That being said the bartender, Calvin was great and apologized for the limited hours etc. There was also another employee by the name of Ricardo who went out of his way to help you. 5. Stayed at Rooms for 2 weeks in December. Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were delicious every morning. My favorite things about this hotel were the location, the clean modern style rooms and the bathroom shower was big and beautiful. I would most definitely book at Rooms again

After seven days spent at Rooms, Negril, I returned home realizing I enjoyed a pretty perfect vacation. We (I traveled with friends) were delayed about 1hr at the airport before transfer to hotel (Jamaica Tours). We waited for others, switched buses, & inhaled fumes. Our driver was great. Check in quick. My room was clean, comfy, cool, w/ balcony ok. […] Bath/ shower great. Pool (basic)inviting, bar/restaurant drinks/food and staff great!!!! Beach nice. Vendors galore; a firm, friendly, no thanks works, for most; security good. Enjoyed local restaurants/bars (many close) & cliff side dining (west end by Ricks) Rained daily, not much sun, air temp nice. Enjoyed return bus trip to airport (same J.T). Last views of the beautiful Jamaican countryside.... perfect, just as it is. With that being said, other guest had no hot water in shower and trouble with room key. One complaint about steak at restaurant being bad; pretty sure staff would offer new selection. Travel smart; lock up all valuables/use deadbolts. One guest caught maintainence red-handed in room with pocketbook (police called). It can happen anywhere. Don't let it happen to you. If you plan on booking this hotel, I would. Be sure "Rooms" in "Negril" is what and where you want to be on your vacation;I don't think you will be dissapointed. The possibilities for your days spent there are endless. The hotel was on a very nice stretch of 7-Mile Beach. The location itself was perfect, but the local vendors started to get annoying about the 3rd day. We stayed behind the wall, which security enforced Non Hotel Guests from coming across the property lines. The security guards were great! So was Gem, a local Craftswoman hired by the hotel. The food […] was lacking. I only ate there once, other than the Continental Breakfast. Jermane at the bar was friendly and attentive. The pictures really captured the resort! It is a lovely place and we are definitely going back! It is a pretty place and brings a sense of calmness to you. It felt and looked safe too. Loved the gardens! The continuental breakfast was rather boring so we added other items. wished they added cornmeal porridge to the menu! Oatmeal was boring & not made […] JA style! Prices weren't bad, but Kayuba has a fantastic breakfast! Enjoyed Sweet Spot's bbreakfast too! The sectioned beach was perfect & we really enjoyed our time thout there. Our room size was perfect. We thought we needed an extra chair in the room but we ate on the patio which was VERY private. Select a room on the ground level - more privacy! The bed was so comfy & the shower big enough for two!!! We got a peek at a room used by a group of college students! It was huge with 3 beds! Even though the were next door to us we saw and heard nothing, even though there were a lot of beer bottles outside their door each morning! The staff were great! Very pleasant and made you want to smile!! We liked the fact that they recorded when we left the property and when we returned. Like home, Rooms offers clean, modern, tastefully decorated rooms; a comfortable and private atmosphere; a friendly welcoming staff. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Our room had a new flat screen tv and modern bathroom fixtures. There was a small gym with all the necessities for a workout. I was impressed with the 24 hour security provided. I was very pleased with my stay there.

We really enjoyed our stay in Negril. You can't beat the location. There are lots of restaurants close by and this hotel is pretty well centered on the 7 mile beach. The only negative things we can say are: 1) The continental breakfast is very skimpy. Two-half pieces of toast, one-half piece of pastry, one-half piece of banana bread, one small glass […] of juice or coffee/tea, and a very small bowl of cereal with lukewarm milk(cereal is only served if requested). 2) The front desk staff were not very friendly, but the security guards made up for it. Really, would it have cost them that much more to give a decent breakfast? It would have added so much to our overall impression of the place and then we would have felt better recommending it to our friends and family. Our room was quite comfortable. Bed was good, bathroom was big, shower was great. Cleaning staff doesn't always do a great job of cleaning the nightstands and dresser tops, and you never know when they'll show up at your door wanting to clean the room during the day. It seems to vary day by day. The beach is unrivalled anywhere. Best sand I've ever had the opportunity to enjoy on a vacation. You couldn't sift a sand beach any smoother than this! We just returned from our stay at Rooms and I would recommend it to anyone doing a non all-inclusive! There was a group of 8 of us that stayed for 6 days. Nice flat screen tv in the room (although our remote didn't work), super nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. We loved this hotel. We did have a problem with not having water for hours on end for a couple of days, but we were able to use the showers in a different room since we had family in other buildings on the grounds. (It was building 7 that had the water outage) Staff is very friendly and helpful. I read many reviews on other sites complaining about the continental breakfast, but I thought it was perfect! I looked forward to it every morning. Definately enough food for the average appetite. The resturant/bar ran out of misc. food/drink ingredients at times. But it wasn't the end of the world.. No worries mon! The pool and beach areas were very nice. They provide beach towels which was a plus. Contact Captain Moses if you want to go on any boat tours! He is great! Went out of his way to drive us to Ricks Cafe in his own car after the water was too rough to dock the glass bottom boat there for us to get off safely! IT IS A VERY NICE HOTEL AND VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE STAFF WAS GREAT TOO. THE ONLY 2 FAULTS WE COULD FIND IS THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE A BALCONY AND BEER WAS CHEAP AT THE BAR BUT OTHER DRINKS WERE PRICEY.

Rooms on the beach was the perfect hotel for me and my new husband! We stayed at the hotel for 5 days and 4 nights. While we were there, my boyfriend and I got married. The staff was always friendly, the location was perfectly centered on the 7-mile beach with great restaurants within walking distance. The room was more updated than I expected with […] a completely renovated bathroom. The ceiling was a marvelous wooden-vaulted ceiling. The rooms were equipt with safes that you set your own code to, and iron, and ironing board. While the floor was not as clean as I would have liked, I know that sand if very difficult to get swept up, especially when we were constantly tracking it in. The front desk was very helpful, from restuarant reccomendations to booking tours, they were always there for us. Even when we asked if they could get us on a tour with no notice and the tour had left for the day, they found someone to drive us, and actually saved us money! The restaurant varied widely over our 5 day stay. The first night we went to order, and after we told the waiter our selections he informed us that they did not have half of the menu items. Two days later at lunch, they did have the items they did not have previously- and they were delicious! The continental breakfast was nice- only tea, coffee, orange juice, toast, and a flavored bread- but it was all served to you like you were at a restuarant. You could pay for other breakfast items. We came to this Rooms hotel after staying at the Rooms in Ochi — which was pretty lame — and were pleasantly surprised to find this Rooms to be a completely different experience. Clean, comfortable rooms with vaulted ceilings, cute balconies a nice (if sparse) gym, nice pool, mostly friendly service and a very pretty property. Best of all, our stay […] was completely relaxing. The hotel is (as the name suggests) right on the beach and also close to some good restaurants. Kuyaba is a must for a romantic, fancy dinner; we also really liked Firefly for breakfast. The hotel's continental breakfast is rather bleak, but there's a huge self-serve canister of coffee and decent options on the menu. This is out second stay in Jamaica and we found that the hassling on the beach (in Negril) to be much less than during our previous stay. This might have to do with the "tourist police." Again, after Ochi, Negril was a welcome respite. If you're into walking, downtown in within walking distance. There's a craft market on the way, and the Scotia Bank with an ATM. Near the Patty shop, there's a small but excellent vegetarian eatery. We also walked on both the road and beach at night without incident. Everyone we met seemed friendly, despite the ominous tone of our guidebooks. Since we booked through Expedia, we arranged our own airport pickup. If you're doing that, I recommend Clive's (they have a website and you can book online). It's a reasonable fare and they're prompt and polite. Mehr

Hotel was clean, location was good. The staff was wonderful and friendly and very accommodating. Had a problem with not having hot water, but problem was quickly (one day later) resolved. Need to work on their "continental breakfast", it is lousy. Would recommend hotel to friends and family.

Hotel does not offer nightlife activities, but there is much to do like going to clubs and other hotels which are walking distance away. Only problem was the failure of Jamaica Tours to pick us up for the transfer back to the airport. However, Jamaica Tours has taken responsibility of offering to refund unexpected cost.

I called the hotel week before arriving to verify our reservations and to request our rooms to be together. We traveled as a family and had a total of 6 rooms (13 people totaled) for 9 days. It was noted in the system of the request but our rooms were scatted throughout the property. Granted the property isn’t big, but we had rooms for the kids, grandparents […] and we all wanted to be together and we were not. Then we were given rooms that faced a parking lot with cars parked right at your patio doors, therefore you can not enjoy sitting on the patio nor open your curtains to let the sunlight in without anyone looking in. Thanks to Mr. Derwin, he was able to put three of the rooms in a building 9, two rooms in building 7 and 1 room in building 2. Mr. Derwin is the best. I explained to the manager, normally when you make reservations your room is somewhat together if the rooms on the same reservations, and especially if you call ahead to request. The problem is they close buildings due to not operating in fully capacity and spread the reservations throughout the property without looking at the reservations schedule to place families together. Some of the buildings had plumbing problems no water. One night they continue to say its being worked and it was getting later and later, kids tired and ready to go to bed, finally we had to suggest giving us another room key for us to shower. Nonetheless, Negril Jamaica is our second home, we travel there 3 times a year, this is our 2 time at The Rooms on the Beach and we will return. All in all, I still give the hotel 4.5. Mehr

The hotel was nice from every point of view. The staff was very friendly and the hotel is on the beach. Very nice atmosphere. Few things to note about Negril in general: 1. Loud music everywhere. This put a damper on the beach relaxation but that's how it is all over Jamaica 2. Prostitutes everywhere but not the beaches. They don't bother you but they […] are everywhere. 3. Drug dealers everywhere and the beaches: They bother you but there's nothing you can do about it. Don't let any of the above get in the way of relaxation. The hotel can't stop any of that. We enjoyed our stay at the Rooms on the Beach Negril. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and accomodating. The beach was great! It is a small and quiet resort-great for relaxing with very good security. The location is close to restaurants, shops and downtown and a quick cab ride to the cliffs. All in all a good value […] for the $$. We would recommend it to friends and family looking for a safe, relaxing and affordable vacation. The breakfast was simple toast, juice and coffee. L'unico momento di pace è tra le 4 e le 5 del mattino, poi iniziano si iniziano a sentire le voci e la radio del personale che lavora nell'albergo e controlla l'ingresso macchine all'hotel. La camera è grande ma arredata in modo essenziale. C'è la cassaforte. Nell'amardio non ci sono grucce per cui bisogna tenere tutto in valigia. L'atmosfera comunque è piacevole, il mare molto bello.
