Nice stay...everything we needed, nice swim, breakfast and close by and for some unexplained reason less expensive than I originally paid.

We stayed here in mid-December 2011. There was construction going on, but we were not disturbed by it. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We had adjoining rooms, one which was handicap accessible for a handicapped family member. The accessible room was quite spacious. The only issue we had was with the fold-down seat in the bathtub. If you didn't latch it […] perfectly it would come unhooked and unexpectedly fall down. It is a nice amenity, but needs to have a better way of securing it when not in use. The regular room was average sized. It was clean and dust-free. Both rooms had free wi-fi, microwave, refrigerator, widescreen LCD TV with remote, cable television, desk, lamps, a/c unit, sitting chair, iron, ironing board, coffee maker with coffee, alarm clock/radio, and telephone. The wi-fi crashed on us once, but was very easy to log onto, and the speed was more than adequate. The air unit has a powerful blower on it, which I could see some people complaining about if you are not used to that type of unit. To keep it from being too loud, you need to make sure that you set it to the "low" fan speed. However, there is no option that makes it run continuously. The TV does not have smart sound and the commercials can be very loud at times. Keep that remote handy! Breakfast was included in the price of our stay. The breakfast area was clean, well maintained, and well stocked. Contrary to a previous reviewer, there were several "healthy" options to choose from: plain Quaker oatmeal with the option of raisins and cranberries you could add, fresh (not canned) mixed fruit and whole fruit (red delicious apples and local Florida oranges), Yoplait yogurt in several flavors, whole wheat bread for toasting, bagels, and skim milk. There is also eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, several varieties of kids cereals, juices, and hot chocolate. I agree with other reviewers that the coffee was not that good. First night I returned to find long hairs on my pillow. Then I got one less towel set each night until the final night I had one towel. Then at checkout, no luggage carts available. It's not my fault other guests took them into their room. It's the staffs responsibility to maintain all services for ALL guests.

Felt like they must have been 10 count thread. Reminded me of a potato sack. Did not sleep well at all.

Needed a pleasant place while visiting family. Very convenient, very clean, very friendly. Best smoke-free hotel ever!!!

The staff working at the hotel were courtesy, nice, helpful , and had great personalties. Aircondition in the room didn't seem to be working to well, but tolerable.

the hotel was in a nice place. the beds where hard as rocks. the pool had lights hanging loose in it and the shower head was broke. it took 24 hours before it was fixed

The one big issue - filthy carpets. I travel often, but my wife doesn't. The room made a poor first impression due to the dirty carpets, which made us, my wife particularly, uncomfortable. The hotel has a nice foyer, decent breakfast and is close to Cracker Barrel, but fairly distant from the Mall and local Universities, including Southeastern University, […] the reason for our visit. The other detail that was strange, was the cookies...it's silly, but you had to ask the clerk for their cookies. I wouldn't do that. If the carpets were clean, I would have probably given this specific hotel an "A" for the price. However, if I was alone, I'd probably stay there again. It was "good enough". If I had my family, I'd pay the extra money for Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Mehr

This place is very new (so new it didn't show up on my GPS) and nice. Pool is good. Breakfast is good. Service is acceptable. The only problem I had was that there was no restaurant or room service on-site, but there's several restaurants within walking distance. The parking lot was a bit tight. We had to change rooms after the first day. our first room had a irritating clanging sound in the AC unit off and on all night. That morning, the fridge had stopped working that night, we lost the fresh fruit and juices that were in there. The new room was a handicapped room, but the latched sit down seat (in the bathtub) was coming off the wall (loose […] screws). Staff was helpful, but the cleaning staff didn't speak any english so it was hard to ask for anything. Also, the free Wifi went out Saturday morning and didn't come back on...we checked out Tuesday morning. (they said lightening killed it, but couldn't get anyone to fix it). The beds were rather stiff. My back and neck are killing me. Mehr

Staff members were courteous and professional. Hotel property was very clean and inviting. Continental breakfast was expansive and replenished as needed.

First hotel I've stayed at that when you call the desk for towels or other things they tell you to come down and get them. Pet policy is very unclear after reading on the website that I can bring my dog and driving 20hrs from NY Im told that they dont accept pets. I ended up having to hunt for a kennel and spending more money than i planned. strong […] urine odor by the first floor elevator, and cigarette smell on the third floor that lingered for about four days. The staff was very polite, friendly and always available. the building is gorgeous inside and out but I would not recommend this place. Mehr

Staff was very accomodating, hotel itself was better than I'd expected. As a business travler the high speed internet was great and the rooms were very spacious.

If you are a business traveler and need use of your wireless laptop or a business center if you do not travel with a laptop, do not stay here. The wireless in my room would kick me off and I would lose info I was working on, so it cost me. When I expressed this concern to the front desk, they gave me an ethernet cable and told me that should solve it. […] When I called down to let them know the same thing was happening with the ethernet cable as the problem with my wireless, they just told me to come use the business center computers. Of course the business center computers did the same thing because they need to update their internet. The computers in the business center also did not allow me to work and print any of my files from my thumb drive. And on top of that they put a sign on the printer that said "temporarily out of order" on the last day I was there. I had actually gotten a colleague to put the files on my thumb drive so I could print them at my hotel. I couldn't even do that. It was a big inconvenient business trip. My room was also very dusty and the lamp at the desk where I would work would not turn on. When I called the front desk about the dust and the non-working lamp, she asked me if I wanted to change rooms. The problem was I was already unpacked and this was too much trouble. So I told her I would dust the room myself if she would just bring me a replacement lamp from another room. The breakfast was also not fresh and not a good selection. A lot of packaged eggs, sausage, bacon and it all tasted plastic. They also ran out of stuff because there were 2 baseball teams staying there and the morning breakfast person could not keep up the utensils, breads, fruits, danishes, and the plastic stuff for all of the other guest who wanted that stuff. Other guest were complaining about the food as well. Front desk staff was friendly, room was large, clean, and comfortable, soap and shampoo provided by hotel were nice... A great stay. A Starbucks maybe two tenths of a mile down the road, right off the freeway... good value. Would stay again if visiting Lakeland and would highly reccomend.

We had a wonderful stay and the breakfast was diverse and plentiful. We only wished the cookies that were given at the front desk weren't so processed. The front desk was very helpful in recommending local restaurants. We will definitely keep this hotel company in our mind for our next visit.

Walls are thin. Reported slow toilet upon check in, nothing was done. Nice hotel but, but service is lacking.

This was an excellent hotel and way better than I expected. The rooms were comfortable and staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was very good and there were many items to choose from. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Since first learning about Country Inn & Suites through Hotels.com two years ago, I almost exclusively stay at one whenever I travel. They always have consistently high ratings, and the facility in Lakeland, FL is no exception. Everything was as I expected, and we even received the bonus of a room upgrade when our attendant discovered that we were traveling […] for our honeymoon. No complaints here! Mehr

Lovely cute place to stay at. Pillows are comfy & tv's are big. :) The decor is pretty awesome. Not like your tacky cheap motel kind of deal. :p

I stay at Country Inn & Suites every time I have the occasion to when I have a trip to Lakeland in connection with my son's attendance at Southeastern University. I am ALWAYS more than pleased with everything! Great facility, clean, courteous and great value.

Here on business. Very pleasatnt stay. Met all of our expectations. Have always enjoyed Country Inn and Suites and you lived up to our expectations. Thanks!

The Country Inn and Suites in Lakeland Florida was an exceptional hotel!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and was kept that way during the whole week we stayed there. The amenities were top rate!! We will surely stay there again.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff was great. The price was great and the rooms were super clean. It is a good place to stay with friends and family. I will definitely stay again.

The lobby and room itself were beautiful. However, the air conditioner was extremely loud and periodically awakened me throughout the night. Secondly, the toilet and sink had drainage issues and the front desk clerk had repeated difficulty programming the keys for our room. Overall, it was a great stay, but i have never had those sequence of minor issues […] occur durin one hotel stay. I'm sure it was just the newness of the establishment. Mehr

We stayed at Country Inn and Suites in Lakeland to visit family. The room was clean and the beds were fairly comfortable. The pool was great, the pool itself was covered, but there was a small area beside the pool where you could lay out in the sun. The breakfast was nice, it was a hot breakfast with waffels, sausage, eggs, cereal etc. Very close to […] I-4, but not very close to any major shopping centers. The staff was very nice and always greeted us. I would stay here again. Mehr

EVERYONE on the staff was very professional yet friendly. Would plan to stay there everytime I have to go to the area.

It is a new hotel and everything is nice and clean. The staff, however, is the hotel's greatest asset. This staff is one of the friendliest staffs that I have ever met. They took a personal interest in our vacation.

This is a new hotel which opened in Jan. 2009. The room was excellent; the bed was great to sleep in but the #1 thing was the customer care provided by the staff. The staff was attentive to you and your needs.
