I loved the hotel but I was disappointed that the hotel did not have a parking place

Good, relaxing, enjoyable. friendly people.

Immaculate room and well suited for a family; staff was so friendly and helpful with everything; housekeeping made our beds and freshened supplies while we enjoyed the awesome breakfast choices; convenient walk to the Metro for touring D.C. all day; the whole area is beautiful so we also enjoyed the walk into Old Town in the evening; loved this place […] and have already recommended it to many friends who want to visit D.C. area Mehr

Room was spacious, had all the amenities I needed. Free breakfast is a plus. I had some trouble logging into the free wifi from my room, but hubby didn't. Parking is limited. Nice that on weekends you can park on the street and not have to pay, but had to park 4 blocks away.

Only one word describes our stay and the staff,EXCELLENT

Good service, great location, good food would recommend this motel to anyone.

This was our first trip to the Alexandria and Washington DC area. The Marriott Residence Inn Caryle was a very big surprise the rooms were very clean and comfortable the location was in walking distance of shops and the King St Metro line which was only about a block and a half a way. Parking could be a concern if they are full to capacity but we had […] no problem with parking. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location to anyone. Great experience Mehr

Helpful staff the only issue is parking outside of the hotel garage can be challenging. The hotel it's self is great.

We enjoyed our stay- the desk folks couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The neighborhood is very quiet on the weekend- but there seemed to be a restaurant or two to choose from in the immediate surroundings. Old Town with tons of shops and restaurants is within walking distance if you're good walkers...there's a shuttle otherwise. Asking for a […] room away from the Metro cut down on the noise from the trains...squealing brakes, etc., though they could still be faintly heard in the early mornings. It's a great feature to be able to hop right on the Metro, though. The rooms have some strange design elements- a light switch on the outside of the bathroom makes it necessary to switch on the bright light before you enter, putting light into the eyes of anyone sleeping on the fold out couch. We had a wonderful experience! The breakfast spread was great as was the staff. They even offered a free shuttle to King Street (the main street in Old City). We would totally recommend.

Our only disappointment was that there were no 2 bedroom/bath suites available - I was led to believe that there were - we were 4 women together for the weekend and 1 bathroom was a scheduling nightmare. Otherwise, the hotel and its staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Close to the metro and convenient. I would stay here again.

This was our first get away since having our children 9 YEARS ago.. This hotel was perfect, we would love to visit DC again. If and when we do, we will most defiantly stay here..

You could easily pay the same price for a run down hotel in downtown DC. This hotel is just 10 mins walk from King street Metro (15 min metro ride to downtown) and 15 mins walk to King St shops and bars. Alexendria is a great place to stay, the nighlife and shopping is probably better then most downtown DC neighbourhoods. For the price we paid for a […] our room, no complaints. Mehr

Comfortable room; good layout. Furniture in good shape but mattress, as in so many hotels, sags. Bathroom extremely small. Need to stand in a certain spot in order to close the door. Nice breakfast (free) in lobby area.

This hotel is great for a family vacation to the DC area. Close to Metro, nice, safe area, friendly workers, one of the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel.

This is a great all around hotel. We got a very reasonable rate for the 1 bedroom. It is across the street from the Eisenhower Metro station and we we able to walk from the King St station in under ten minutes. It serves a full breakfast, and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The bed was awesome. It was so comfortable that every night I fell asleep, […] and did not wake until the morning. A full kitchen is always helpful, and there was always hot water for showers. I used the laundry facility. It was clean, and the machines worked efficiently. Only downside (which wasn't really) is that upon packing, we discovered a Hustler magazine under the mattress. Mehr

This hotel was nice, the staff was great, it was clean- the only thing is that if you aren't staying on the correct side of the building you will hear the metro all night and it will wake you up in the morning.

The rooms are large, staff very attentive. The best deal is the social hour during the week with complimentary wine and food! We were so happy we stayed here and will return!

HOTEL WAS AWESOME! VERY CLEAN. BRAND NEW. MAIDS DID A REALLY GREAT JOB. FRONT DESK WAS PROMP WHEN WE NEEDED MORE THINGS. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT! GYM WAS PERFECT. LOCATION WAS VERY SAFE AND EXTREMLY QUIET. AREA IS GREAT TO GO WALKING EVEN AT NIGHT. WE ORFERED DINNER FROM BUGSY RESTAURANT WHICH WAS A PARTNER OF THEIRS...FOOD WAS WAY MEDIOCRE.THE ONLY COMPLAINT […] I HAD WAS THE STUDIO'S WERE NOT AT ALL PRIVATE. BATHROOM HAD NO FAN AND THERE WERE NOT ANY WINDOWS TO ALLOW FOR FRESH AIR. THAT'S ALL DESIGN ISSUES THOUGH. PARKING WAS A HEFTY 18.00 PER DAY. AND THERE WAS NO POOL OR JACUZZI. The facility was nice, very close to metro but parking was $18 per day which was an unpleasant surprise. Anything I saved by using hotels.com was eliminated because of that.

Very convenient location within walking distance of Metro station and Old Town Alexandria. Rooms and linens very clean. Complimentary breakfast is the usual fare that you would find at other hotels (i.e. waffles, eggs, coffee, juice, cereal, bacon/sausage, etc.). Close to nice upscale grocery store. Would stay here again.

We used this hotel as our homebase for sightseeing Washington DC. Very close to Metro station which is a must when touring. Close to Alexandria which is a great walking city itself. The hotel was a great price. The breakfast was plentiful and what was surprising was the evening little meal M-Th. That came out of left field. We had no reason to dirty […] up any dishes. I read about complaints concerning parking but found parking to be just fine. Yeah it's a little cramped but it's underground parking. No big deal Mehr

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel for 4 nights over the 4th of July. The rooms were spacious and having a stove and refrigerator in the room was very helpful. The metro is close and the breakfasts were great. The only down sides were the small parking area, we had to do street parking for a couple of days, and lack of restaurants in the immediate neighborhood […] that were open at night. Mehr

This hotel was very close to the metro system, which made traveling into DC very easy. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and all are easily accessible.

I was satisfied with the accommodations and service that I received at the hotel. The one (BIG) EXCEPTION that I had was that I discovered that the hotel allowed animals to stay at the hotel as if animals are people. I was EXTREMELY UPSET with this policy. Suppose I (or anyone else) was allergic to dogs, cats, etc. and I did not know that these animals […] had previously stayed in the room that I was in. Unfortunately, people allow animals to sleep/lay in the bed with them, and animals carry fleas. I had the possibility of sleeping in a bed that prevously housed a dog, cat, etc in it - this is outrageous. If hotels want to allow animals in their hotel, then those rooms should all be booked in one specific area of the hotel in order that those of us who do not wish to reside in a room previously occupied by animals are not forced to. the hotel was very clean, with a nice breakfast and fairly convenient - about a 10 min walk to the Metro and a couple of miles into Old Town. We took the hotel shuttle into Old Town, but had to wait too long to get it back so we ended up walking, about 30 min, which wasn't ideal at night with tired kids. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Carlyle. It's within walking distance of the Amtrak and metro stations. The room was comfortable, with a good workspace, and having a kitchen, microwave and fridge was very convenient. Good for both business travel and vacations.

handy to metro. developing area with limited entertainment and restaurants nearby. very quiet. hot buffet breakfast. only complaint was having to call twice for plumbing services.

The staff was very nice. Beautiful and brand new rooms. I stayed at a studio. It was very spacious and clean. They offer complimentary shuttle service within 1.5 miles radius of the hotel. The metro station is aprox. 5 min. away if you take the shuttle, so is perfectly located to visit Alexandria and DC.

GREAT breakfast! Choices for EVERY taste - fruit, oatmeal, nuts, yogurt, eggs, sausage, potatoes, bread, etc!

We checked in and there was no prking. We had to park down the street so we could stay. I would ask for information at the front desk for trainstops and info and the clerk looked like he was getting annoyed with my questions. The next morning, I went to the train station the clerk told me and it was the wrong station. When I went back, the clerk told […] me that he was taking the hotel shuttle to the correct staion in 10 minutes and he would wait for us. 5 minutes later after I parked, the van had left. After waiting 10 minutes, i asked if he was coming back and the woman at the front desk said he would be back soon. After 30 minutes he did not return. While I was waiting for the va, I went and had some coffee in the dining room. There was no cream and I had to knock 2 or 3 times on the kitchen door for help. The man came out and told mee he would get me more cream. I watched him shifting boxes around for butter and putting things away, so I left and asked the front desk for cream, she said she would call the same person that was not getting it. When I walked back to the dining room, there was a cleaning person who was facing the clerk behind me and he made a smirk as if the clerk had communicated something negative about my request. After 5 more minutes of waiting, I left with no coffee or cream. We returned back to the hotel Saturday after 2PM and house keeping had already finished working on our floor. We called the front desk and asked when housekeeping was coming andwas told they will be there shortly. after 2 hours and 2 phone calls more, housekeeping finally arrived at about 5PM with towels and a sheet. When th housekeper handed us the towels, she went out the door and never retuned. The next morning at about 6 AM, I was out of toilet paper and was told to come downstairs for another role. Of course, I was on the toilet with no toilet paper when I was asked to come down. The housekeeping never checked to see if we had enough paper. Mehr

Without a doubt one of the nicest hotel's I have ever stayed in! The only downfall was the parking garage wasn't tall enough for my super-duty truck but the hotel clerk told me I could leave it parked in the "check-in" parking. 5 minute walk to the subway stop. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel at home!!

The first thing u notice upon entry to the hotel is how cozy the lobby is with the fireplace. The business center only consisted of 2 computers but it had a nice personal touch to it. You have to use ur room key to operate the elevator it was a pain sometimes cause if u didnt do it right away u would miss ur floor but it is a nice security feature none […] the less. The rooms were set up like a loft. You felt right at home with full function kitchen. the fitness room was nice and they have a nice lil laundry room. The garage was a lil confusing but over all they hotel was awesome. Mehr

The service, the staff, the food, the room...everything was exceptional! We had a complimentary full turkey dinner as part of their weeknight social before Thanksgiving. Their hot and old complimentary breakfast buffet can't be beat. For the money, this place was just fabulous!
