Mango Lagoon Resort & Wellness Spa - Palm Cove

This resort is located at Palm Cove and is around 30 minutes drive from Cairns city centre. We finished our dinner at Cairn before going to check in at the Mango Resort and we were late and missed the opening hours of the receiption. We followed the instruction posted at the front desk and called the number, access to the safe and got the room key. […] Everything was fine and working smoothly. Arriving at the room, I have to admit that it is my fault to be paying less and choose to stay in the hotel room instead of an apartment. The so called hotel room is very very small, small to an extent that we two of us cannot open the room door after flipping open our two 27" luggage. With the luggages opened on the remaining ground of the room, I can hardly find any spot to walk around inside the room, so if you are considering whether to stay here in your coming holiday, trust me, do not commit the same mistake I made. I looked at the apartments next door through the windows, they look much better. Other than the room size, the hotel score a mark for the 4 small but lovely swimming pool, in addition that we hardly see any other guest in the resort during our stay, we enjoyed a happy moment in the pools privately. The Hotel was lovely, with a fantastic multi pool area and beautiful gardens. A lovely relaxing place to stay. A bit of a walk (15 mins) or drive though to any shops restaurants or beach.

Lovely hotel, with comfortable rooms and very relaxing pool areas with plenty of shade and pool lounges. Such a shame they don't seem to clean the pools very well, and that they have such a bad cockroach problem! I'm from Queensland so do understand that cockroaches are just a part of life here, but also know that there are ways a hotel can protect […] their property to prevent guests from having literally dozens in the room, including in the bed! Just handing the customer a can of surface spray is not great customer service! Mehr

We didn't spend alot of time at the hotel or in our room as we were in Palm Cove for a friends wedding. However we did have a couple of criticisms: the toilet was not completely clean, we were missing our air con remote, not enough space to hang wet towels/clothes, the ceiling fan only worked on strong and extra strong, the hair dryer provided had a […] foreign plug and the connection provided did not fit the dryer. The hotel was clean and tidy but we were placed at the very back of the hotel, even though close to the shortcut to the beach, but was a very long walk to reception. We would still recommend the resort to others but not a hotel room which was very small and cramped. We knew other people staying at the resort in a much larger suite and they said they enjoyed their stay and the amenities very much. Mehr

This was a excellent place to stay and had everything you need right down to the soap powder. My only critism is that the lounge chairs where uncomfortable unless you lay down on them, and there is only one outside lounge chair near the pool for each unit. Two would be better so both can sit and enjoy a drink etc.

Although once it was probably a nice hotel, it hasn't been maintained over the years. The building and rooms need a lot of attention. It feels unmaintained. However, the pool area and gardens are well looked after. Shame they didn't do the same for the rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, its not a full service hotel. Don't pay too much and […] don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. We wouldn't stay there again. Mehr

Hotel was lovley great location .. room needed a little love though bedding, fresh linen and towels would have been nice. Pools were very nice.

too far away from Cairns...I should check the distance...Good hotel for the price basic breakfast for $8.50 called twice before coming to the hotel to be sure to have a double bed and still had two single beds !!! the hotel was nearly empty , how hard was it to please my demand ...

Sadly I was disappointed with our accommodation at this place. Hotel room does not meet the basic requirements of guests, such as a chair and bench or table, quite awkward when working with camera's and laptops etc. Extra power points would have been very useful. I found the lighting in the room was quite subdued, and found that reading in bed at night […] very difficult, quite a strain on the eyes. Resort managers response to the lighting was that there were two bedside lamp and he felt that they should be sufficient. We booked for 6 nights and I was horrified to hear that we were not going to have our room serviced for the duration of our stay. I at least expected tea/coffee satchets and toilet paper supplied. After hearing my thoughts he said that he would organize that for us. However we only got 4 extra tea bags, and a toilet roll. We had just come from 3 nights at "Lakes Resort & Spa" where we had a beautiful apartment for less than what this hotel room cost. However, in defence of the management and staff, they were all very obliging, very pleasant and gave assistance where ever possible. The resort was lovely and clean, had a lovely ambience, but I was very disappointed in my accommodation. The manager did say that this room should not have been booked for a stay of 6 nights, and that Hotel.com should read the resorts website. Longer stays should always be in an apartment, and I tend to agree with him. Mehr

We found this place while searching for accommodations at the beaches north of Cairns. The exceeded our expectations. Great and quiet location, a wonderful, clean, and well-equipped apartment. The pools that stretch through the premises are great for a variety of uses. 6 minutes of a pleasant walk to the beach along a shortcut through a nice neighborhood. […] We would definitely go there again. We initially encountered a small problem with the standard of some of the cleaning products supplied in the room - the mop was unusable and the brooms were dirty and needed cleaning. Once this was brought to the attention of staff they replaced the items and apologised. Overall though, this Resort is in a good location and offered excellent value for […] money. Appartments are large and airy, however, could have been cleaned to a higher standard before new occupants move in. Mehr

Mango Lagoon resort is a great place to stay for families. Definitely recommend a ground floor courtyard apartment - ours was huge, opens out directly to one of the 4 pools, lots of beautiful palm trees and foliage in a landscaped setting. The 4 pools are great, a 50m lap pool, another small pool, a pool primarly for kids and a final landscaped lagoon-style […] pool. The setting is very relaxing, and only a few hundred metres to the beach, easy walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Note not a resort with full servicing per se, only a small outdoor eating space that serves limited breakfast and I believe dinner, but suited us fine. Apartment came with full kitchen facilities - oven, microwave, cutlery and crockery, dishwasher, pots, fridge/freezer and full laundry facilities, also 2 bathrooms. 3 airconditioning units and fans were much appreciated in the Cairns tropical heat. Some cons - just some missing small touches, such as extra lighting (bit dim in rooms), could do with a mid-week clean for those staying a week like we did, though we did get fresh towels and linen. Overall we had a relaxing week at Mango Lagoon and will be back! Mehr

Everything else was wonderful: Spacious and nice- decorated rooms. The next we visited the impressive tropical style Pool and was treated with exceptional friendly service/ advices on local tours.... Will definitely go back next time....!!

Too far from Palm Cove Ocean. Drive to ocean, shops and restaurants. In December, swimming pool too hot to swim in. Needs shading. Lighting too dull in units, especially unable to read in the evenings.

wonderfull stay. small but very nice room for one person. just perfect and so close to the beach area. The 3 pools are amazing each with their spacial decor.. Planning to go back neext year!

Large modern room with big comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, full laundry facilities and pleasant, helpful staff. We were in a first floor apartment which had no balcony or natural light and the lighting in the apartment is poor if you are wanting to spend any time in there. Also the shower could do with a curtain or glass return so the surrounding […] areas don’t get drenched but neither was a serious concern to us as we were out and about all day. Look out if you have noisy neighbours coming and going during the night as the rooms are not well sound proofed. Mehr

We stayed at the Mango Lagoon for 3 nights, a nice hotel with 3 pools. We really liked the atmosphere, with the 2 plan houses and paths to walk between the pools and all the green bushes and trees. Very cosy. Small room but very big and comfy bed. Big tv and good movie channels. But we were quite disappointed with the service. If you stay there less […] then a week then you don't get any room service, no cleaning, no making the bed, no new towels. You get one roll of toilet paper, two tiny soaps. We have stayed at numerous 4 star hotels over the world, and this is by far the cheapest service ever! The shower was a joke!! Hardly no water in a tiny stream, which by the way splashed the whole bathroom floor since there was nothing to block the water from getting all over. Not so nice to stand in a pool of water doing your make up or shaving or so. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel which is ok if you don't mind walking in the dark if you're going out for dinner. Nice hotel, cheap service. Mehr

I was very happy with the service and attention I received at this resort. The pools and surrounding gardens were in immaculate condition and so relaxing. The room was clean and tidy with a small bar fridge and TV. The only criticism I can make is the lack of hanging facility for clothes. I would definitely stay here again.

This resort was a pleasant surprise. The pools are a bit on the lean side but the accomodation was excellent. Very large living area with a seperate bedroom. Just the spot as a base for visiting the surrounding area. I would certainly revisit Mango Lagoon.

We booked a 1-br apartment at Mango Lagoon, and were blown away by how spacious it was. This isn't a full-service hotel, so if you want that, look elsewhere, but for us, with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with big TV and a dining room, it was perfect for our needs. Great location, and you can walk to the main strip of Palm Cove in 10 minutes. Very […] quiet, we weren't disturbed by noise from neighbours at all. The four hotel pools, were fantastic, especially the 50 metre lap pool. You can use the BBQ facilities there too. Only annoying thing is that the apartment lacks proper lighting. At the brightest, you will struggle to read a book at night-time, it is definitely all "mood lighting". The only bright lights are on the toilet and in the bathroom. But overall, we loved Mango Lagoon, and definitely preferred it to the hotel we stayed in when we went to Port Douglas. Mehr

The hotle is in Palme cove which has a beautiful beach.It is closed to City of Cairns and Port douglas. The apartment is very spacious and the amenities are great. I love the pool very much. There are 4 pools in the resort, and they are wonderful.

We had a small room that was really too small. It was barely enough for two people and we had three. There was no room for a third bed or cot. The beds were on the small side also (short), since we are slightly over 6 feet in height. Otherwise, the room was nice and clean and the location was only a couple of blocks from the beach, which was nice. The […] grounds were nice also with birds singing in the trees. Mehr

This hotel was an amazing value. It is not a luxury resort, but for the price, it was the best value hotel I had during my entire three weeks of travel across Australia. The nearby village of Palm Cove is wonderful. The location provides easy access to both Cairns and Port Douglas.

料金を考えたら、十分すぎるくらい快適でした。 スタッフもすごくフレンドリーで気持ちが良かったです。 部屋も清潔で、敷地内の清掃もかなりまめにされているようでした。 料理、プールは利用していないのでわかりません。 料金からもわかると思いますが、ビーチへはそこそこ歩きました、１０分くらい。

Very affordable, located on the best beach (Palm cove) of the area, extremely helpfull staff! The hotel is not right on the beach but the walk is only 5 min and the hotel's pool area is very nice! I would definetely choose this hotel if I'm ever to travel travel there again! It's great for a couple, a family or single travellers as myself.

La struttura e' bellissima, sembra un super resort...potrebbe diventarlo conpochi accorgimenti, tipo una maggior cura delle camere. Buona la colazione

refait à neuf et déco moderne et fonctionnelle, grande surface (séjour, cuisine complete, lave et seche linge, ) à 5/7 minutes à pied, excellente promotion en aout 2009
