Aloft Chesapeake - Chesapeake

My stay was great I usually love staying with the Aloft hotels. I got there abt 15 mins earlier than the check in time but no one was helped until about 330 which i had to wait because a lot of customers was in line....so other than that loved my stay.

The room was nice with all modern features like a flat screen TV, WIFI, etc., but it was really cold entering the room. We had a drink at the bar and the bar tender was somewhat rude and took forever to get our drinks and tab! And the front desk clerk wasn't very welcoming.I would stay here again, but they need to change the staff.

This hotel was really nice, i would stay again, the only complaints i had was that housekeeping she clean a little better, there were hand & finger prints on the walls and desk chair had smudges from someone's hand. Also, NO vending @ all. However, they do have a little market where you can buy items like snacks, the chocolate was staleeeee. A candy […] bar and a can soda was almost $4.00. Other than that nice place to stay, close to EVERYTHING!!!!! Mehr

Nice but just ok overall... Was more for young adults like 18 to 20's than for mid to late 30's... Loved the Hilton better...

Pity they are not in every city, we would choose this facility any time we travel. Very satisfied

Great service all around had short stay and enjoyed every minute of it can't wait to come back.

The reason I picked this hotel was because this website said it had a minibar. Once my husband and I checked in, we realized that was not the case. I called the front desk and explained the situation, and they did nothing to fix the situation. They didn't even seem to care. While trying to sleep, we discovered that the shades let in way too much light, […] first from the streetlights outside then from the sun in the morning. I actually had to pull the covers over my eyes in order to sleep. The covers were too light, so I had to turn the heat way up. The pillows were also too fully stuffed and were uncomfortable. The room itself was pretty neat, though. The layout was pretty neat. The decorating was nice, too. However, I wouldn't recommend this hotel due to the misrepresentation and the light issue. Mehr

Too much effort was poured into making this some kind of a "hip 'n happinin'" hotel and not enough forethought for the breadth of guests they might eventually have. Bathroom doors are very odd and don't close all the way (so much for guests in your room). When they say breakfast included - NOT - they mean you get one Gatorade or one breakfast sandwich […] (not both). Can you say classic ripoff! The hotel reps in the lobby were all very strange and unfriendly and the lobby bar attracted a strange crowd. Save money, enjoy your visit by staying across the street at the Marriott Chesapeake. Good value and a comfortable stay for the price. Convenient to all shopping in the area.

I recently stayed at Aloft. Nice looking hotel but wasn't pleased with the shower set up. There was a frosted glass window next to the bed that ha the shower on the other side. Would have been fine if it was me and my husband but I was sharing the room with my son while we were visiting with family. The shower leaked all over the floor and they were […] supposed to send a maintenance person to fix it and didn't. Also, they charged me for 2 waters when there were 2 FREE bottles in my room....rip-off. Mehr

Nice hotel horrendous bar drinks. If you plan to stay at the hotel don't use the bar. I asked for a Manhattan and she poured so little alcohol in my glass that I had to take a picture. When I questioned her about she said that is what the hotel told her to do. Just pitiful......

My stay at Aloft was fine. However, the one thing that needs correcting, in my opinion, is for the hotel to install something more substantial than their shades to block sunlight from filtering into room. The amount of sunlight coming in disrupts sleep.

Loved this hotel. Only problem we had was after check in I got to room to find only a single bed. I reserved a double bed room. I went back to the front desk and was given another room and when I got there it was also a single bed. I had to go back to the front again and finally got a room with 2 beds. After a long drive it would have been nice to seattle […] in the first room and it be correct and not have to go to 3 rooms to get the right accomidations. Mehr

Stayed here when our heat went out on a couple cold nights. Staff was very friendly and provided high quality and personal service. They consistently greeted me by name when I walked through the lobby and were accomodating to even the simplest request. The only thing I did not like was the breakfast deal that came with my reservation. If you book a […] room with the breakfast included you are only allowed two breakfast items from their selection. This is my fourth stay at this property. I've noticed the thermostats in each room never seems to go below about 75 degrees. I think aloft's "eco-friendly" model is just a way for them to save a buck and provide a less comfortable environment for their guests. I purchased the package which included two drink vouchers, but the bar closed earlier than […] the stated closing time. I was not able to enjoy my favorite amenity- the hotel's great bar. When I expressed my disappointment to the girl at the front desk and the manager, they seemed to take no interest in my situation. They took a relatively minor situation and made it larger through their lack of concern or action. To make matters worse, the extra money paid for this package went to waste and was lost beacuse of the bar's premature closing time. If you do stay here I would advise not wasting the extra money on the package that includes cocktails. I think it's a scam. Finally, I am disappointed that the manager would brush off a loyal guest the way he did. There are multiple other properties in the immediate area with fantastic service and clean rooms. Hotel feels more like a night club when you walk into it, Rooms were well equipped, poor lighting in the shower though

Place is very nice and a great gem of a hotel. You normally only see super nice, modern hotels like that in big cities or Las Vegas. It was a great find.

First time at an aLoft but it won't be the last! It was trendy and comfortable. I didnt check in until late and was out very early, I only wish I had more time to stay! Great addition to the startwood family!

This was my 3rd time staying at aloft and I wasn't as statisfied this time as I have been in the past. I will stay again if I need to and I hope my next stay will be better and my room will be a little "nicer" as well.

Can't go wrong with hotel and its location

We were suppose to stay at a different hotel in the area until we arrived and saw the conditions of that hotel. We drove down the road for a few minutes to find something nice and safe, and thats when we saw Aloft. Decided to check it out. When we arrived to check for a room, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. We got a room right away […] because she allowed us to use the hotel's interneet to book the room. We got the king size room. It was amazing. So clean, updated, and excititng. The indoor pool was very clean, as well as our room and the feel of the hotel was resort like. Great place to stay for the price! It was so well worth it and we will be staying there another time. I highly recomend this hotel! Mehr

This is a wonderful hotel! When i first arrived i was welcomed immediately by the staff! They also informed me about the programs that they had and offered to sign me up! The rooms are very relaxing the beds were very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were very clean thats one of my biggest problems with other hotels, but not with this hotel. I love staying at the Aloft Hotels. The staff at Chesapeake were very nice and courteous during my entire stay. The mall is close, about 5-10 min away and there are different places to eat.

Always a great experience at the Aloft: friendly and competent staff, clean, solid Internet, lots of amenities, very quiet, silent HVAC, reasonable prices. Location is excellent with restaurants, a mall, shopping center and convenience stores all within walking distance. The decor is ultra modern, and leans toward fashion rather than function, so be […] prepared for this. It can sometimes feel stark because of all the hard angles, but for those who love contemporary Swedish styles, it can't be beat. Mehr

This was a very nice hotel with a great price!!! The room was comfortable and quiet. We couldn't hear any surrounding noise. The woman at the counter that checked us in and out was also very nice!! I would recommend anyone to stay here.

The Aloft was a great hotel to choose for a weekend get away! I live in the area, but I just needed a get away for the weekend in the same town I currently reside in. The only complaint I would have was that the bed was not very comfortable and the room decor was a little sterile.

Sleek, simple modern styling, friendly staff, upbeat atmosphere, environmentally sound rooms. What's not to like?

I was referred to this hotel by an associate as a place to go relax on the weekend if I just want to get out the house and have a few drinks without worrying about the drive home. I was not disappointed at any time. Being a designer myself, what I immediately noticed was the way the room was laid out to make the best use of space while giving it a modernist […] appeal. The walk-in shower, the platform supported bed and the flat screen that has a remote input dock tethered at the desk(accepts just about any AV connection...yes it has VGA and HDMI also). The only thing this room was missing were solar powered androids to rub you down before you sleep. Just a small strike would be the lack of a wall mounted microwave, I saw at least three points where a small stainless steel model could have been installed. This didn't bother me, but it was the only complaint the lady I was with had and believe me, she whines almost daily about the smallest things so that actually said a lot for this room. If you're going to Chesapeake for any reason and you need a hotel to stay at without risking a hit or miss, stop comparing prices now and put your money on Aloft. I know I'm going back next time I want to relax....sans the whiner that is :) Mehr

Nice hotel, would recommend it . Great customer service, the only issue was the towels felt rough. Pet friendly.

I am a frequent traveller, as well as someone who eats out a t least 4 times a week. I also work in the resort/hospitality industry and it is a rare and fantastic experience when you arrive at a hotel bar after a long day travelling and receive the outstanding customer service we received from Stacy at the bar.
