Das Hotel machte einen gepflegten und sauberen Eindruck. Etwas verwunderlich ist, dass sämtliche Lampen und die Klimaanlage rund um die Uhr liefen (wenn die Gäste nicht im Hotel sind, muss kein Licht in der Toilette bzw. im Zimmer brennen). Ein gewisser Schwachpunkt war die Sauberkeit der Tische beim Frühstück, hier wäre es sicher angenehmer, wenn die Tische mal mit einem feuchten Lappen abgewischt werden würden! Das Hotel bot zwei Badetücher sowie alle notwendigen Hygieneartikel (bis auf Zahnputzzeug) an. Auch waren die Zimmer mit einer Minibar und einem Safe ausgestattet. Sehr angenehm war das free - wlan. Das Hotel liegt an der Sixth Ave, wo etliche Busse in die Stadt fahren, so dass man unkompliziert vom Hotel wegkommt.

Sehr schickes Design Hotel mitten in Little India gelegen, das seinen Preis durchaus wert ist. Das junge, freundliche Personal, scheint passend zum "hippen" Anspruch des Hotels ausgesucht. WIFI sowie Minibar sind inklusive. Zusätzlich gibt es jeden Abend Cocktails z.T. auf Kosten des Hauses. Die Zimmer sind zwar recht klein, jedoch durch gute Platzverwendung optimal genutzt. Allerdings können die quasi nicht vorhandenen Abstellflächen bei Doppelbelegung (zwei Personen) nach einigen Tagen sehr nervig sein. Das Frühstück im kontinentale Stil verzichtet fast vollständig auf eine asiatische Note, eigentlich schade. Das Hotel liegt optimal zwischen den MRT Stationen Bugis und Little India, die fussläufig in 5-10 Minuten erreicht werden.

Der Service imHotel hat mich überzeugt, die Reception war sehr freundlich und kompetent besetzt. Die Zimmer waren geräumig und das Frühstücksbuffet gut. Die Orchard Road kann mit dem öffentlichen Bus in wenigen Minuten erreicht werden und der Gratis-Shuttle fährt bis in die Nähe des Marina Bay.
Lage
Fragrance Hotel - Crystal liegt in Singapur (Geylang). In der Nähe befinden sich: Nationalstadion Singapur, Marina Bay Golfplatz und Malay Kulturzentrum. Nicht weit entfernt befinden sich: Sultan-Moschee und Mustafa Centre.
Ausstattung
Ein Highspeed-Internetzugang (W-LAN und Kabel) steht in den öffentlichen Bereichen gegen eine Gebühr zur Verfügung. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind in einem sehr maessigen Zustand. Fleckenfreie Bettwaesche oder einen kleinen Kuehlschrank sucht man vergebens. Ein Plus ist die gut regulierbare Klimaanlage. Das Hotel liegt mitten im Rotlichtviertel und ist von vielen Bordellen aber auch kleinen Laeden, Bars und Imbissen umgeben, wo man sich mit Allem eindecken kann, was […] man als Tourist so braucht. "Zum schlafen nicht geeignet"
Das Hotel liegt mitten im Rotlichtviertel Singapurs. Es ist auch möglich, ein Zimmer stundenweise zu nehmen. Das stört mich alles nicht, die Rotlicht-Szene in Singapur ist sehr diskret und -wie alles Andere in dieser Musterstadt- sehr diszipliniert. Was mich gestört hat: die Betten sind mit einem Matratzenschoner aus PVC versehen. Dieser Matratzenschoner […] lässt sich nicht entfernen. Zwischen dem Matratzenschoner und dem Schlafendem ist nichts als ein dünner Bettlaken. Schlafkonfort = null. Etwa so, wie man die ganze Nacht durch auf Wachstuch liegen würde. Aus Hygiengründen, besonders mit den diversen Aktivitäten, die ein Stundenhotel erleben muss, mag das Sinnvoll sein, die Matratzen sauber halten zu wollen, aber was nützt das, wenn dadurch das Bett zum "normalschlafen" unbrauchbar wird? Let's summarize : I have been trying to find the cheapest hotel in Singapore, so I've found the best prices in Geyland area....the red district....with prostitutes, poor surrounding the area, smelly, and totally different than the rest of the city. Staff there is great and friendly, but the rest of the hotel is definitely depressing. Is not a good option […] for a long stay...I would say that 2 or 3 night maximum (if you want to save some money and you have another option) PROS: -cheap (you probably won't find a better price) -near a metro station ( 4-5 blocks) so you are connected with the rest of the city... -Air conditioning is GREAT CONS -No bar, no breakfast, no machines for drinks, not laundry, you have nothing there!! -internet is not cheap or included, you have to pay separately...and the signal in the upper levels is not strong at all. -TV is not an option to spare time.... in summary....is just for one night or 2, and for singles only ( don't ever think in go with your girlfriend there! ) Mehr

Condition of the hotel was below average (walls, furniture), but the room contents were very clean, and the air conditioning worked well. On the north-south street leading up to the hotel, I had many proprietors of red-light businesses solicit my business at night, but it was not aggressive. Just ignore or decline them if you are not interested. During the day, the narrow sidewalks were lined with women, but they seemed very passive. A short train ride from the airport makes this a good location for travelers who need a hotel overnight. Hotel in the Red Light District. Prostitutes proposition on street in front of hotel Not appropriate for children or family, but that is your call. Hotel Clerks were not willing to be of assistance especially for calling a taxi. Beds are hard, but that was ok for one night. Rooms very small with no mirror in the bathroom. A/C shuts off after a period […] of time to save energy, but you get hot, so wake up and turn it on several times a night. A cheap night in the hotel, but you get what you pay for. The Fragrance is an ok hotel if you could have it by Internet for around 40 USD. The room was rather clean (except the bathroom's floor) and basic. Don't expect any amenities or service here. "Hotel where I stayed"
when you need for a hotel, youf ind it easy to have this hotel available for you anytime. the location is good and in the hearts of nice and friendly neighborhood. I f ytou need to move around for shopping, its just a walking distance. when you need to drink a beer or have good entertainment , its just within a glance and you can get one with no sweat […] at all. One thing though, you need to advise the reception on this hotel to ensure that the room you booked has already been checked , cleaned and sanitized because when I get there, the bed sheets has not been changed yet probably from the last room user the maintenance or the housekeeping forgot to do the usual task of replacing that is used inside the room. I have not seen cocroach though. However, again you have to advise the reception to make a thorough check of the room because of what I have stated earlier. lastly, the room need to be refreshed as the cigarett smell is all over the room. "NICE BUT"
EVERYTHING STARTED OUT GOOD BUT THEN THE INTERNET CONNECTION WENT OFF AND THEY TRIED TO GET IT BACK ON BUT WITH NO SUCCESS, I SLEPT WELL UNTIL IN THE MORNING THERE WERE COCKROACHES ON THE FLOOR AND ON THE WALLS !
"Crystal Fragrance - Convenient and Inexpensive"
We stayed at this hotel for one night before a cruise and it suited us just fine. Just a 5-10 minute walk from the Aljuned MRT stop it is very easy to get to on foot if you have little luggage. Otherwise a short taxi ride will get you there. The amenities are sparse and the bed had only a sheet and blanket, but it did have a decent shower and bathroom […] and the room was very clean. The neighborhood is the "red light" district, but that is not even noticeable during the day and not aggressive at night. Just a block from Chinatown the people watching was excellent and we found a wonderful and cheap restaurant just around the corner that had handmade dumplings (dim sum) that were the best I have ever eaten. I would definitely stay here again for a night or two and recommend it and the local restaurants to friends who are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the otherwise expensive hotels in Singapore. "the least we cld have is a smile!!!"
We were greeted by a very unfriendly, unsmiling desk personnel. She is unhelpful and seems to think that what we are paying is not worth her effort to open her mouth to speak. We pay as much as the next guest and mind you, the exchange rate is no help. For the same amount, you would get a 4-star in KL. However, that's the way it is but the least we […] cld get is a smile. Air-conditioning is bad, as the air-con vent( louvres) are gone so there's this big wide space and the air-con blasting in our faces. We pointed this out to the reservation desk and all she said was, the management knows. We took 3 rooms for the festive season. Regret!!!!!!!!! AND parking is horrendous...!!!!!!! Mehr
Many brothels on same street, room was not serviced , had coffee etc but no jug and water container was empty , tv was small old and poor almost impossible to view, no soap in soap dispenser , grubby paintwork a room I would expect in a one star hotel
The neighbourhood is very bad as this area is known to be the red light! its a prostitute area... so its not that save to walk at night there...

i recently stayed at another brand of hotel in the same street and was disgusted by its service and condition. Fragrance is up there with the 5star hotels i have enjoyed. a pleasant surprise for a great value accommodation. i will definately be using them again.
"Cheap but you share your room with Cockroaches"
The room was cheap. The location is the "red lights' district but it is OK. The only very disturbing thing is the fact that the room (and supposedly the hotel) is INFESTED with cockroaches. I tried to clean my luggage before leaving the room (people in the hotel are very nice and gave me a Raid pulverizer to kill the roaches) but once at the airport […] I opened my passport and 2 of them crawl out from it... "Good place to crash for the night"
You get a reasonable place to stay not far from the airport. The area is not an issue. It doesn't feel like a sleazy area. The slippery mattress means the sheets (which are too small) come loose and that's a bit irritating but my bathroom shower was a reasonable size. No shampoo but you can use the shower soap in a dispenser.

But hey, if I had wanted luxury (or could afford it, for that matter), I would have stayed at the Mandarin Oriental or the Intercontinental. Unless you are on a super tight budget, don't stay here. The beds are hard, the room is tiny, and the showers are cold. You don't even get complementary soap and shampoo. Located in very seedy neighborhood, too.

This hotel is in the red light district, but it's actually not a bad area. No one bothers you and everything is cheaper. It's also closer to the airport, so it's good for overnight stays. Its not fancy - at best a 2* hotel - but you'll survive (and save some money). Hotels in Singapore are very small and this is no exception. But I think this hotel […] is better than its competitors. To access the internet one has to purchase a ONE TIME USE voucher. In my case the cmputer updated itself while I was on line and restarted - I lost the internet. Additionally the signal was not strong and after buying three vouchers I resorted to wlking severl blocks to an internet cafe which had excellant service at a much lower price.
