Very good family friendly hotel. The service was very good and staff very friendly however, the hotel would need revamp.

hotel staff yery friendly and helpful.food was good standard but with hotel full there a bit of a wait on breakfast and you have to be up early to get hot water for shower.

The service was good. Food was fine and prices very reasonable but the decor is old and room was dated. However the hotel was very clean and staff were helpful. Location was good in the town centre.

Very friendly staff, room and bathroom was in need of modernising. But, the old and very uncomfortable bed with a plastic under sheet was unforgivable.

Everything is excellent about this hotel apart from our experience with the food which may have just been unfortunate. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the river and the furnishings of the hotel are beautiful. The staff could not have been friendlier. The Spa was excellent and user friendly. We decided to eat in the Bistro the first night and the […] menu looked fine. We were served the wrong wine and the beef strogonoff we both had was more like a stew. We decided to eat elsewhere instead of using the Restaurant on the 2nd night. Breakfast was very good but fairly limited to choice. Maybe to do with busy wedding weekend. Mehr

Very good breakfast and a good hotel for the price.

Great time had a ball, we were given a honeymoon suite at no extra cost, room was massive (was like an appartment), have been quite a few times an would def go back, staff very friendly and helpful overall another great stay at Jacksons

The hotel was advertised as 4 star. We could see it was immediately, 5 or 6 years previous to our arrival! When we got to our room the furniture was badly worn and scratched and when I opened the drawer of the dressing table it collapsed. The hotel needs to be revamped and the swimming pool especially. The pool on one side was wooden with a rusty hook […] hanging from it which was particularly dangerous. We arrived early, 8:00, for breakfast but nothing was ready. We had to wait 15 minutes for the cooked breakfast. On the plus side, the food in the bar was very good and the service excellent. I would have to downgrade the hotel to a 3 star and one that needs a bit of work. A bit of investment and tlc could get its 4 star rating back. Mehr

we were given a room in the 'old' part of the hotel and a 5 minute walk from the function room-furthest room in the hotel. also shower didnt work

The hotel is nice enough - old, could do with revovqting. The ballroom was beautiful and you could see that it would be a lovely wedding location. The bedrooms were ok, again, needed updating. The food was not good and the service was terrible. We had to wait for over an hour for our evening meal and the children were too tired to eat it when it arrived. […] The hotel was quiet noisy at night with children running wild in the corridors till all hours in the morning. in a family room one night - was clean and comfortable but pretty worn and dated. hotel staff very friendly, good free wi fi and enjoyed use of pool.

I stayed 2 nights in Jacksons as I was in the area for work. Hotel is good, comfortable bedroom and a very good breakfast.

I have never before left a review good or bad but this place was so far from my expectations that I felt I had to. I recently stayed here as I was attending a wedding at the hotel. I had very high expectations as it is well known wedding venue. From the second we stepped into the room we were let down. It was a cold afternoon and so we would have […] liked to step into our cosy hotel room. Instead, the windows were wide open and there was no heating on resulting in a room so cold we had to close the windows, dump our stuff and leave. The heating never did come on in our room despite the radiatior valves at full open leaving us with a cold room all night. The decor.... it is so outdated and worn that I find it very hard to believe they are still selling these rooms at 3 star prices! The bed spreads looked like they have been used since the 70s and the rug looked like a puppy had chewed the edges. The noise... for the few hours we did try to sleep in the room 2 of them were interrupted by the family upstairs walking back and forth across the WOODEN floors. No fault of the family but wooden floors hardly make for the most sound proof design. Maybe breakfast would make up for the lack of sleep?... No. The place was seriously understaffed with one waitress trying to keep a full breakfast room happy with others queued out the door. The "full irish" was the smallest I've ever seen. 1 piece of bacon, 1 sausage and a fried egg. Nothing else but cereal was available except made to order and I wasn't about to wait any longer to eat. Toast was even out of the question as there was only 1 standard 2 slice toaster catering for a steady flow of breakfasts. I had to track down the waitress to even get some tea. Despite badly needing more sleep we packed up and left before noon. I did complain and the receptionist said he would pass it on to the manager but I never heard anything. I did get to see the "new" end of the hotel which is MUCH nicer and the wedding venue is pretty but Mehr

The surroundings and facilities were excellent, but was very disappointed to check into my room and it had not been cleaned from the previous occupants.
