Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber - das das Standard-Zimmer kein Fenster hat, war jedoch doch etwas eine Überraschung (von den Infos auf der Website war ich von einem Fenster auf einen Laubengang (z.B. in einem Innenhof) ausgegangen, in der Tat hatte es jedoch nur eine Lüftungslucke ins (geschlossene) Treppenhaus. Das Personal ist jedoch sehr hilfsbereit, […] der Serivce war gut, nebst WiFi steht im Zimmer auch ein PC zur Benützung zur Verfügung. Die Lage - nicht unweit des Hoan Kiem Sees - ist für Stadtrundgänge und Restaurants zentral genug. Mehr

Youu are not checking into the Hilton, you get a good quality room, free internet & wifi in the room, free breakfast, and at NZ$49 you gotta be happy. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

PROS: The staff were exceptionally friendy and helpful, and informed us when we first checked in that we could order our breakfast (good selection) nd have it brought to our room for no charge. The rooms we stayed in were spotlessly cleaned (even the windows) with attractive Vietnamese decor. CONS: There had been a mistake on the website--the room photos […] were mixed up--but the manager gave us the room pictured when we brought it to his attention. Also, the hotel is a little tricky to find; there is a sign indicating it to be straight ahead (through a building); when you see that, turn and look in the opposite direction. We stayed here for 2 night in total and booked trips to Sapa and Halong Bay with them. Trips were fine. The hotel is a great value for money, rooms are nice (1 better than the other), breakfast is nice and the staff is very helpfull and friendly. Also great location. Would really recommend this hotel.

We booked a superior room which doesn't have a window. This is perhaps better because you won't have the traffic waking you up at 6am. Clean room, large bed, decent bathroom with good shower. Easy walking distance to lake and shopping. Would recommend for those on a small budget but who want some nice comforts.

Hotel is small and compact on a small road in old quater of hanoi. Excellent front desk services from Huy and Hoa. Rooms are clean, with aircon as very much needed during our 4 days stay. Great breakfasts and services of order to cook. A tiny restaurant in front lobby, don't expect to have a bar or a buzzing restaurant as hotel serves breakfasts only, […] though room services is available. It was good to have tea and coffee and juices available all day for free. Hotel is in walking distance to HOan KIem and to other sights and shops. I stayed with my wife in a superior room . The room is spacious and tidy, equipped with air-conditioner, free private internet & wif in the room, refrigerator, tv with multiple channels (including vietnamese), wardrobe, writing desk, make-up desk, complimentary bottled water, coffee table & chairs, too small windows, hot shower, basic toiletries. They […] also arrange tour to Halong Bay, SAPA and other bus/train tickets booking services. Private car pick-up & transfer service can be arranged with reasonable fees. Breakfast not much selections but still ok for us (included in the room rate). Friendly staffs that work hard to ensure our comfort & satisfaction. We were grateful as they woke up early just to prepare our breakfast (in the morning we checked-out and to airport). We changed the Vietnamese Dong through the front desk. (of course numerous banks are along the streets). Strategic location - various travel agencies are around the corner. Tourist spots within walking distance. Restaurants, cafes, bars & shops selling all sorts of stuffs just few steps from the hotel. Taxi, cyclo etc are easy to be found if you choose not to walk. The real treasure of this little hotel is the staff. A young man named Huy at the front desk helped us arrange tours, pick restaurants, and gave us safety tips for the night market. He spoke English and was really helpful. The rest of the staff were all very good to us and seemed to take pride in doing their jobs well. Laundry service was good. Pros - The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks decent English. Also they serve you free breakfast which is pretty good. Cons - The address is on Quan Su, but some taxi drivers have trouble finding it because it's actually a couple buildings away from Quan Su on a very narrow street. The taxi or shuttle drivers can't stop directly in front of the […] hotel because the street is too narrow. The hot water cycles between hot and cold every 5 or 10 seconds. That was the worst part. It wasn't just my one room because I stayed in two different rooms and both did the same thing. The shower head in the 801 suite doesn't reach the hook on the wall so you have to hold on to it the whole time. The shower in suite 701 was better, but there is no shower curtain so water goes all over the floor. The beds seemed clean and moderately comfortable. Wow, what an amazing place. We booked this hotel with hotels.com after reading the reviews on Hotels.com & Tripadvisor and and decided that the old quarter was a preferred location opposed to a cold sterile larger chain hotel. Prior to us arriving we also got the hotel to book us some accomodation at other locations, a plane ticket from Hanoi and Hue […] and 2 short trips - one to Sapa and the other to Halong Bay. Everything was done promptly with regular updates on the bookings etc and very competitive prices. Prearranged car was at Hanoi airport which dropped us at the hotel. Service was absolutely impeccable. I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world due to my job and the staff at Hanoi Royal Palace are right up there with service delivery. We stayed in a suite room overlooking the main street, and I was a little worried about the noise but it all ceases around 9pm and in the mornings it was lovely to watch the city wake up and all the local shop keepers start their day. It all adds to the ambience of the location. The attention to detail was wonderful from the in room computers through to the daily fruit platters, the cold drinks that were served when you arrived back at the hotel together with the genuine care for all visitors to their hotel. Our first trip was to Sapa and the staff arranged a transfer to the train station and even made sure we were in the right cabin. When we arrived back in Hanoi again a welcoming staff member was there (at 4.30am) to collect us and take us back to the hotel where they arranged an early morning coffee, breakfast and an opportunity to shower and change before we boarded the bus for our next trip to Halong Bay. Returning from Halong Bay again we were warmly welcomed back with drinks and a car to the airport for our trip to Hue. The service level is impeccable expertly managed by Customer Service Manager Huy. During our trip of 7 weeks in Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, we found more luxurious hotels and even more comfortable but the staff of Hanoi Royal Palace was most thoughtful and the most devoted. The rooms were clean and big, including a large balcony, large closed in shower (which is rare to find in Vietnam) and comfy beds. My stay included free internet and free breakfast which they even let me have when i woke up very late one morning. the staff were super friendly and helped us book and amazing 2 days 1 night trip to halong bay which was […] unforgettable. I highly recomment this hotel even though I only stayed one night. The rooms are comfortable, clean with all amenities you would want. The staff is very nice, professional and would do anything to accomodate you.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night but the experience with the friendly staffs was exceptional! The airline lost our luggages and did not deliver them to the hotel until 1pm the next day. The staffs helped us contacting the airport services and also extended our check-out time just so we can refresh ourselves after receiving the luggages. The […] location of this hotel is also very convenient, it's within walking distance from the Lake. This hotel probably had the nicest beds I have ever slept in! Room was small, but plush and well done. The toiletries and bathroom were gorgeous with robes, slippers, fabulous toiletries, flat screen tv, small sitting area separate from the bedroom, separate tolite with handbasin, huge fluffy towels.....all in all first class in every sense. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights total. The hotel rooms are not luxurious but have the necessary items for a comfortable stay (and yes as mentioned by other reviews a computer with internet access in the bedroom). The hotel is well positioned, and although not a 5* hotel, the customer service is (and I have stayed in various hotels in the Far East). […] Ms. Hoa organised internal flights for us, which was much appreciated, the reception staff could not have been more helpful (even oranising the purchase of certain hair clip for my 11 year old daughter on the day of our departure, and at a few hours notice). Mr. Huy the Customer Service Manager organised a trip to Halong Bay on the Royal Heritage Cruise Boat which was the highlight of our holiday (many thanks Huy and yes the boat is worth paying that bit extra for). All in all Hanoi is not my type of city, but the trip was memorable due to the service provided by the staff at the Royal Palace, and the trip to Halong Bay. Mehr

We chanced upon this hotel while looking online for a great place to stay in Hanoi while on a budget. Tucked away in a side street, you cant tell this 3 star hotel has actually a 5 star service ! Thanks to its manager, Mr Huy. Mr Huy is the most affable manager I've seen. His enthusiasm and energy made us feel at home. Though only a short stay, he helped […] us with tour information and local attractions and made bookings for tours for us. They use reliable tours and can plan your holiday for you. Complimentary breakfast is prepared fresh daily. Rooms are clean and comfortable with the basics in place. Staff are helpful and they stay up to wait for the guests to return each night, it seems. For a 3-star hotel with a 5-star service, Royal Palace Hanoi is the place to go. Well done ! Mehr

There is a motor cycle washing station opposite which can be very noisy. Bathrooms very ordinary. I believe this was described as a boutique hotel, hmmmm not. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast awful.

We got in late from the airport. Our room smelled of paint so strong that I got a headache. I complained to the front desk, they were able to put me in another room. Kind of strange they had me in the paint room to begin with but I was glad for their flexibility. The second night was great. Friendly staff.

We stayed two nights at the Hanoi Royal Palace and it was a great value for the price we paid. Staff doesn't speak very well but they make an effort and the room/hotel was clean. This boutique hotel is without hesitation, the best choice we have ever made for the price we paid. The bed was very comfortable and had its own balcony with a table and 2 chairs. You feel at home in your room . It was spotlessly,clean and a flat screen TV with full satellite access. The bathroom was amazing with marble fixtures, separate deep bath […] and shower cubicle and robes were provided. Great location , very central and attentive staff including a patient concierge who helped us with dinner reservations in addition to other suggestions. The breakfast is really affordable for an hotel the choice of food is good and the coffee is great... what more to ask? The hotel was very central - able to walk to most places. We couldn't fault the staff at the Royal Palace Hotel - very friendly and helpfull. Ms. Hoa did a wonderful job of organising our itinerary in Vietnam - thanks heaps. Our room was very spacious and clean. Nothing was a bother to anyone. Very good value.

The hotel staff was uniformly friendly, dependable, and went the extra mile to accommodate some requests of mine that were possibly not even reasonable. :-)

I found this place online after much searching as we wanted a reasonably priced room with all the comforts. We chose Royal Palace Hotel and were quite happy with our stay .It was a great place and had a wonderful time. The rooms are amaculate in cleanliness making the stay so much more relaxing and the room had lots of excellent advice on local restaurants […] and activities . Furthermore, it was very central with only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area .The breakfast was included and was more than adequate for us. To top the stay off the staff are just lovely, very friendly and welcoming family. Huy gave us a few dinner recommendations and we had an amazing meal at a local restaurant. I guarantee you will not have any regrets booking and you will be confident that your stay will be an amazing one! i will definately stay here again on our next visit, no question about it! Mehr

My wife and I were looking for a place to spend some romantic nights away together. We found the Royal Palace Hotel website, and it looked great in the pictures. When we actually got there, we were amazed at the rooms. Great little details, very clean and very comfortable. Beautiful, spacious room with a comfortable, clean bed and outdoor area friendly […] owners great beds soft pillows, well-appointed bathroom with excellent roll-in shower, large flat screens and satellite television with hundreds of channels, including numerous movie channels .It is less than a five minute walk to the main shopping area and restaurants and there are two supermarkets a short drive away. we stayed one night while in Hanoi, it was very comfortable and enjoyable experience coming back to the room every day. Rooms are quiet, no noise at all from the road traffic. A few minutes walk from the town centre, with the Cathedral a mere block away. What a great little little hotel. The locationis fantastic. The room was clean, bathroom and shower were good,TV,wi-fi, computer and breakfast. Staff were friendlyand nothing was a problem. The wonderful Mr. Huy really looked after us. He was always helpfuland full of information. Excellent value for money. Wewill definately go back.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is a couple of minutes stroll to Lake Hoam Kiem where the locals practice Tai Chi early in the mornings. The hotel has free maps and the staff are very happy to help you plan trips. I was going to take a taxi to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum but they recommended that I walk. The hotel is new so all the fittings are clean and fresh - there are LCD televisions in the rooms. The water pressure in the bathroom is good and we had a novel shower head that cycled colours when water was flowing. Breakfasts are nourishing with a choice of fruits, cereals and eggs on request. We stayed in the hotel for two nights. Our room was huge, very clean and on the fourth floor . With a bathroom, big screen TV, fridge, computer , a king size bed, ac. No special view but we didn't really stay in the room that much so it didn't matter. The café, tea downstairs serves food most of the day including a delicious breakfast. Mostly young […] traveler types staying there so relatively easy to meet people. The location is in central –most convenient to visit some museums . The old quarter is about 10-15 minutes walk away but easy enough to get taxis. The more lively places are probably around the old quarter but this was fine for us. The staff were really helpful and friendly! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they really made us feel at home. The hotel staff were also great in helping to arrange two tours as we passed through from Hoi An on our way to Sapa and then back through to Halong Bay. So we were able to keep our backpacks in their storage rooms and they let us freshen up, shower in bathroom. Both tours (Sapa 2nights and Halong Bay 1night) were great . We chose this hotel on the basis of its location in the old quarter and the good reviews from various internet sites. The Royal Palace was definitely one of the best which met our expectations in many ways. We also opted for a pick up by private car from the hotel at reasonable cost. The first test came at the airport and it was reassuring to find a […] driver holding a placard with our name on it as we exited the customs .You could not ask for a better location or a nicer staff, only a short walk to the famous Hoan Kiem Lake. We stayed on the top floor with a room and balcony. The room was a good size, clean, the air condition worked quietly and didn’t disturb us in the night, the shower was always hot with good pressure . Breakfast is great here as well…good variety, fresh juices or eggs made to your request, and a good mix of both Western and Asian food. The staffs were very polite & helpful & spoke very good English .More convenience that we wanted to leave our bags at the hotel as we were returning the following day from Ha Long bay. No problems.
