Der […] Heizstrahler im Bad war defekt. Im Bad befindet sich keine Steckdose für den Fön. Die Toilettenspülung funktionierte nicht einwandfrei. Spülen war teilweise nur einmal stündlich möglich. It was clean from the first view, but when moving the beds a few millimeters the carpet was filthy. Not thouroughly cleaned. The warm water didn't run and we didn't manage to solve this problem for four days. We were five in an appartment. The bed sofa was really bad quality and can't really be qualified as a fifth bed. Good apartment in a quiet location convienent for city centre. Friendly helpful staff

The front desk personnel were very helpful when we arrived to facilitate the return of our rental car, the use of the parking garage to get our baggage to the room, and finding our way around the neighborhood, especially to a supermarket. The apartment complex is located quite close to downtown, but walking to main attractions is still a hike. On the positive side: helpful, if a little tired, staff (gave recommendations for grocery shopping, booked taxi, the desk was always manned), comfortable and clean beds, nice kitchenette. We are a family of four, with Mom, Dad, and teen and preteen sons. We stayed for four nights at the St Augustine Apts in April 2012. The Good: Great location for the price and great price for the location. You can walk to pretty much anywhere in central Dublin from here. Our apartment was clean, spacious, and reasonably comfortable. The building has […] reception services 24/7. (Other StayDublin properties apparently do not.) When we needed help, the receptionists were very helpful, for instance with maps and directions. Free WiFi for as many devices as you request. There is a shopping street very nearby with groceries, a cafe/bakery, pubs, etc. The kitchen has all the cups, plates, etc you're likely to need for a short stay, an electric kettle, toaster, etc. The Not-So-Good: The sound-proofing was bad, not just between rooms but between apartments. We had a ground-floor apartment facing the courtyard and could easily hear foot traffic to the other apartments. The water heating system is a little odd - make sure you read the instructions before everyone starts showering. The bathroom had one small towel rail for four people and no shelf or anything to store toothbrushes and such. Overall we were happy with our stay and might stay here again. Mehr

we stayed in the apartments for about a week over christmas. The room was cosy and warm with fantastic wifi coverage (free) so we were able to skype our families and keep in touch. Location is great too as only a short walk to centre of town. All the must see sights are close by. Good quality apt . Walking distance to the centre. Only issue was the shuttle bus didn't turn up at Dublin airport which was stressful.

We had a wonderful stay in Dublin at Augustine Apartments by stayDublin. The two bedroom apartment was large and well appointed. Everything we needed and more. The staff was very helpful, they went out of their way to make sure we had our transport to the airport and when the lobby computers were down, they let me use their personal computers to print […] out my flight vouchers. great conversations with them. close to grocery store, pubs and shops. we will definately stay there again. Live staying in student halls, with lots of heavy locked doors. The main problem is the apartment was dirty. Stained bedroom carpets in bedrooms, shoes sticking to the tiled floor when walking, grubby worn settee. All the walls needed painted as very dirty. The kitchen was the only good thing. The hotel was really clean and the front desk was very helpful the majority of the time. Some employees knew more then others. Hotel was within walking distance to the bars and all the must-sees. The couches were a little stained but the rooms were very clean and overall satisifed with my stay.

We spent the last two nights of our whirlwind UK trip at the St. Augustine in Dublin. Great staff, lots of room, really appreciated the space and the washer/dryer in the room. I have read other reviews that mentioned problems with the hot water, but we had none with 3 people in the room. Those who wanted evening showers popped on the boiler before […] we left for dinner and had hot water when we returned! Several tourist destinations within walking distance, and a nearby stop for the two hop on/ hope off tourist buses made the apartment easy to get to and from. Mehr

The St. Augustine surpassed our expectations. Staff was very helpful. Great location - near most of the sights. Secure parking garage under the apartments was very convenient. Safe area and very secure building. Our apartment was quiet, impeccably clean and well equipped. (hair dryer, ironing board and iron, washing machine and drying rack). WiFi in […] the lobby.There was plenty of room for our family, which included our three young adult sons. We had two bedrooms and the sofa bed in the living room was very comfortable. The St. Augustine was a decent hotel at a decent price if you don't look too closely. Lockers are provided to store your luggage if you arrive before check in. The receptionists were helpful with tourist information but not as successful with solving problems with our room. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable also we did not have an issue […] with the hot water like some others. Our room had a balcony but we were never able to use it. The housekeeper came to unlock the door to the balcony for us but didn't have the key as the locks were changed. She said she would come back with the key but we needed to sleep and it took over an hour for her to come to the room the first time. I told her that we would get it opened the following day. After repeated requests a housekeeper never came back with a key. When we tried to use the oven it started to smoke and set the fire alarm off. It turned out the oven was not cleaned before we checked in. When I went to reception they said the housekeepers had left and they didn't know what cleaners to use so I had to wait to get the oven cleaned. I was given sponges to clean the oven myself upon request and told that a note would be left for the housekeeper to come the following morning to properly clean it. No one came to clean the oven during our stay. There were dirty hand prints on the walls, splashes of dirty liquid on the wall by the dishwasher and splashes of something on the ceiling in the living room. we began to wonder what exactly gets cleaned by the housekeepers. With all that said I would recommend this hotel to others because of the price and the proximity to the tourist sights. I would however warn of the questionable cleanliness of the room. Mehr

This is a very handy place to stay for a weekend break in Dublin. It's only 10minutes walk from the centre (Grafton St) but far enough away for it to be quiet at night (even on a weekend). We Choose this apartment for its central location, everything was in easy walking distance, only 2 minutes walk from Vicar st theater, 10 min to temple bars night life. As well as many of dublins attractions such as the guinness store house. I read alot of horror stories about the lack of hot water, but this is Not an issue, all boilers are programmed […] to heat water from 6-8 Am giving more than enuff hot water for 2 showers, as we arrived late in the evening, i simply boosted the boiler while we went for dinner, on our return to the apartment a little over an hr later there was again plenty of hot water !! This hotel really met our needs quite well. This was our first trip to Dublin and we brought our two youngest children, ages 8 and 11. We had a lovely kitchen to cook from, which lowered our expenses. Plus, our kids were able to try a host of foods that they'd never had before. The hotel was within walking distance of just about everything, and I bet […] we covered 5 miles a day. There was never any noise from other rooms and we likes that we were away from a crowdedm, noisy street. The only downside (and I know this would be a deal breaker for most Americans), the hot water heater ran on a timer, so there was not always hot water. There was a 'boost' button that you could run and supposedly get enough hot water for a shower, but this allowed about 45 seconds of hot water. I am not kidding. I washed my eight year old in the tub with water I heated on the stove and in the hot kettle. We managed though, and even laughed a bit (just a bit!) at the situation. Overall, this hotel met our needs for the beginning of our European vacation. It provided us a place to cook and be warm, and to watch the telly. If you can live without a long, hot shower at any given time, then this would be a good place to stay in Dublin. Mehr

Great location but not noisy. Lovely to have a lounge to sit in and chat. All the necessary equipment in the kitchen except the most important - a corkscrew! Bedrooms a little on the small side and hot water a bit sparse for 4 people but on the whole would definitely stay here rather than an hotel.

Perfect, very friendly staff, underground parking, walking distance to city centre.

I wouldn't stay here even if was free, we complained about general up keep of the apt i.e lights weren't working we were left with a light you have above the mirror for shaving for 2 days, we were also left with a microwave that was burned out and if we had of flicked the switch god knows what would have happened...for the price you pay it's so not […] worth it...I stayed in cheaper accomodation i.e premier inn and received a much higher class of accommodation and service for a fraction of the price. Nice for families, large apartment with washer/dryer! Very convenient location.

Myself, husband and two older children,13 and 17 stayed for 3 nights. Dublin is a "party town" full of young drinking kids and the hotel we stayed in was no exception. In fact, I think all the hotels/apts in Dublin were full of drinking kids. It was very noisy late in the evening and the hotel itself was pretty dark. this room was booked well in advance. when we arrived at 9 pm the room wasn't ready. We then went for a late dinner and returned. At 11 pm the room still wasn't ready. the manager gave us a room in another building and did give us a cab ride there. the room was pretty dirty (musty smelling, used soap in the tub and sink, and nothing extra nice to offset […] not getting a room until nearly midnight) It appeared that there may have been other people there having similar experiences. I would avoid this hotel. It is not a hotel, but apartments that are being rented out as if it was a hotel. There was no hot water, no restaurant, no services. Cold showers and nobody to call to get this taken care of. Glad we only stayed there one night. It was not pleasant.

On booking St. Augustine apts Dublin had not expected much! However to my surprise, the two bedroom was comfortable spacious and very well equipped for our family stay 2adults 3 children 15,7,6yrs Previous reviews had stated a limited supply of hot water...for fuel efficiency a half tank is initially heated however there is a Booster button for two […] hours which allowed all to bathe or shower were needed. On leaving/ checking out I did mention to Susan about the kettle having a slightly cracked lid...I was thanked for letting her know and the kettle was noted. Everyone was pleasant and helpful with directions and knowledge were possible. For those who are staying more than a weekend...the apts now facilitate Tesco Direct for grocery shopping delivered to your door! (as the local convenient stores can be a little pricey!! Enjoyed our stay, was impressed by secure underground parking and the secure building of accommadation. Will definitely be back...would be ideal for girlie shopping weekend pre xmas!!!! Mehr

Very good location within walking distance of the many sites of Dublin including Guiness storehouse, Temple bar, Trinity college, Grafton street, etc. Hotel was clean and comfortable, and staff was friendly....HOWEVER, not enough water for showers, not only was the water not very hot, but it actually stopped during the last of 4 showers, the previous […] 3 where very conservative, since I read on this site that the water was at a premium. I did not expect it to stop, staff must have been very aware of the complaint and did not offer any solutions or even seem to care....THIS HOTEL HAS WATER ISSUES. Mehr

This place was really a great place for a family. Most B&Bs in Ireland limit # of people per room to 2. This was a two bdrm apartment with a living room and a kitchen that was fully stocked! I wish we would have been staying longer. It would be great for people staying several nights because you'll save by buying food and preparing it yourself some […] days since all restaurants in Ireland are very expensive. Downsides: There were a lot of college-aged kids and there was vomit in the courtyard one morning. Layout is kind of confusing and there are several doors to unlock and stairs to climb before finding your room. Mehr

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the St. Augustine apartments.

We were very happy with this apartment. We had a 2BR. The shower situation was a little esoteric (you get enough water for two showers and then you have to give the system a "boost" and wait 2 hours for more hot water) but once you got used to it, it was fine. Nice modern kitchen with clean dishes, pots and utensils. Microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer, […] all in excellent condition. Helpful staff. Mehr

Very comfortable accomodation. Absolute value for money !!

Hot water needed to be heated two hours before use. Let's just say there were some very cold showers.

Pictures do not say a thousand words in this case. the kitchen is middle of the road, hot water pump or heater is terrible, and no customer service what so ever. There appeared to be no reason for the staff to go out of their way to be helpful in any way. I would'nt reccomend staying here, nor would i stay here again

cleaning and change of towels should be done at least every third day.

Nice place! Great staff! Within walking distance to shopping and food areas! Little tricky to find at first! Worth the money for an apartment!

Really impressed with the apartments. Arrived early due to flight times and was able to check-in at an extra (small) cost. Quite central to everywhere: Temple Bar 10 minute walk, Guinness Factory 10 minute walk, Dublin Bus Stop 5 minute walk. The apartment itself was clean, spacious (albeit slightly smaller than we were expecting), and comfortable. […] 4 of us shared a 2 bedroomed apartment and there was more than enough space. Only drawback we faced was that the hot-water wasn't on for long enough, and although it didn't cause a major problem, 4 girls sharing had to restrict the hot water usage a lot! We were very pleased with our stay at the St. Augustine apartments in Dublin. The hotel is in a good location, a quiet, more residential area but a short walk to the various sites around Dublin. We were just a block from the River Liffey and a 10 minute walk from the Temple Bar district. It was about a 15 minute walk to the city center at Trinity College. The […] apartments were well maintained and felt very secure. In fact the front desk asks that you turn in your keys with them while leaving the apartment for added security. The desk was also staffed 24 hours a day which was very helpful if you need any off hours assistance. They were also very helpful in meeting our needs such as arranging taxis, providing additional towels and toilet paper, etc. The only real draw back to the apartments is the hot water heater. The hot water is on a timer and will come on at 5am and heat for 3 hours. However this only provides hot water for a three showers. As there were 5 of us in the apartment we had to have 2 shower in the evening before bed using the hot water heater booster option to provide additional hot water. Overall this was a very nice apartment and we would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for good value and location in the Dublin area. Mehr

Rooms were nicely furnished and kitchens were well appointed. Very comfortable beds. Floors were a little dingy but may just need to be re-tiled. Great center city location close to all 'must see' sights. Temple Bar, Christ Church, Dublin Castle, Trinity College, River Liffey all in walking distance. Free internet but they don't tell you about it at […] check in, avoid the fee based access in the lobby and ask the desk about in room access. A little noisy in the courtyard, but the hotel has posted signs asking guests to be courteous - I'm not sure what more they can do. We requested but didn't get a wake up call, be careful if you need to catch a plane! Mehr

We had a wonderful time in Dublin. The hotel was great--just be sure to buy some soap, shampoo and toilet paper if you're staying for more than a day, because there is no maid service, so these items are not replaced. The washer/dryer combo was difficult to figure out and we ended up rewashing a couple loads before drying. We had problems checking […] in because we were too early and had to put our luggage in a non-locked room with about 300 other suitcases. The staff, except for one blond girl (whose response to everything was "I can't do anything about that") was excellent. Mehr

in short, a very clean and nice hotel in a great location (not exactly adjacent to anything but walkable to any tourist site you'd want to see) and a good value per person when you consider how expensive dublin can be. my major problem with the hotel is the water, which lots of people have already written about. the heater in the room is absolutely […] incapable of supporting more than 2 showers at a time; there were 5 of us in a room and after 2, the hot water would inevitably run out halfway through the third. plus the heater is only on for the early morning hours so if you're a night showerer you have to come back, turn it on manually and then wait 45 minutes for it to warm up. not a deal-breaker for me, but incredibly inconvenient. Short walk to the major sites in Dublin. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit noisy because we could hear other guest coming and going, but not a huge inconvenience. The big inconvenience was the water heater only being on from I think 5-8 a.m. I didn't read the book of instructions carefully that sit on the dining table and took a […] freezing shower. You have to turn it on at other times which I couldn't get to work. It has a fully stocked kitchen which was great. There's a washer/dryer combo unit that took 3 hours to dry 4 pairs of jeans. We were super surprised to find not only a welcoming, helpful staff (my suitcase had been lost in transit and they were helpful in assuring me they would wait for it and steer me to appropriate stores if I needed to replace clothes etc.) but the apartment was wonderful! It had a full kitchen, living room (TV/DVD player), two bedrooms with comfy beds, […] a clean, newer bathroom and a washer/dryer combo. It looked sort of like a dorm apartment but more spacious.
