Trotz unseres späten Eintreffens im Hotel wurden wir sehr freundlich bedient. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß. Nur die Duschkabinen sind höchst unterschiedlich gestaltet. Die Frühstücksleistung ist für einen touristischen Aufenthalt vollkommen ausreichend.

im hotel wurden renovierung gemacht. aber es war abend nicht laut. der komfort des einzelzimmers in der dritten etage war gut. die lage des hotels war sehr gut. man war im altstadt und ca. 10 min gehweg am meer/promenade zur festung ist es auch nicht sehr weit!!

Das Hotel eignet sich gut als einfache Übernachtungsmöglichkeit und Startpunkt für Ausflüge und Unternehmungen in und um Neapel. Die Lage in einer Seitenstraße ist von Vorteil, da man somit vom nicht unerheblichen Verkehrslärm in Neapel entfernt ist. Die Lage wäre noch besser zu beurteilen, wenn die U-Bahn Linie am nahen Platz Bovio fertiggestellt ist. Das […] Frühstück ist überschaubar und eintönig, aber eben wohl dem Preis angemessen. Das Hotelpersonal ist freundlich, verfügt teilweise über ausreichende Englischgrundkenntnisse und beantwortet auch direkt gestellte Fragen, aber man kann nicht unbedingt behaupten, dass man als Gast zuvorkommend behandelt wird. Es ist zwar nicht der wichtigste Punkt, aber ein deutscher TV Sender wäre (wegen Nachrichten) hilfreich gewesen. Mehr

Nettes, sauberes Hotel. Wird immer noch umgebaut, war aber nicht störend. Mein erstes Zimmer war frisch renoviert, aber noch nicht ganz fertig - ich wollte gern einen Toilettensitz haben... Ganz unproblematisch kam ich in ein anderes Zimmer. Freundliches Personal, hilfsbereit, Verständigung in englisch geht mit Hindernissen. Kostenloses Wlan! Das Hotel […] ist zentral gelegen, ich bin max. 10min zum Hafen gelaufen (Fähren nach Capri/Ischia etc.) und es sind nur ein paar Schritte zur Hauptstraße mit Bussen und U-Bahn (die aber gebaut wird und nicht Richtung Hauptbahnhof fährt...). Trotzdem ruhig, da in einer Seitenstraße gelegen. Nur das "Pling" des Fahrstuhles war nervig - dafür gibts aber Oropax und Zwischentüren im Flur, die man nachts schließen konnte. Die Handtücher wurden regelmäßig in kurzen Abständen erneuert - sehr schön! Das Frühstücksbuffet ist trotz aller Werbung italienisch wenig, das weiß man aber vorher. Allerdings hätte ich mich gefreut, wenn pro Gast mehr als ein Cornetto zur Verfügung gestanden hätte... Insgesamt hat das Hotel seine 3 Sterne verdient. Mehr

Durch die hervorragende Lage (ruhige Straße) in der ziemlich lauten Altstadt und die gute und saubere Ausstattung des Schlafraumes, ausgestattet mit einem neuem Bett und A/C hat uns der Aufenthalt gut gefallen.

Das (Einzel)zimmer hatte eine fast neuwertige Einrichtung (inkl im sanitären Bereich), war recht klein und verfügte allerdings leider über keinen Safe. Auf meine Anfrage (in italienisch, deutsch versteht man dort nicht) hieß es, es gebe eine Zimmer mit und andere ohne Safe. Es ist wohl empfehlenswert, bei der Reservierung darauf zu achten. Es gibt einen […] kleinen Kühlschrank, der nicht mit Artikeln einer Minbar gefüllt ist (für mich positiv, so konnte ich ihn nutzen). Nicht so gut fand ich den Fernseher, der fast an Deckenhöhe angebracht war, und daher (oder wegen) LCD Technik ein farblich eher unansprechendes Bild lieferte. Die Klimaanlage arbeitet im Zimmer, und macht dabei einen ziemlichen Lärm, sodass sich der Betrieb bei Anwesenheit nicht empfiehlt. Zum Frühstück gab es ein süsses Croissant, sowie Joghurt (alle gesüsst), und Müssli (drei Sorten). Kaffee wird von der Bedienung gebracht. An einem Tag musste ich fünf Minuten warten, bis ein Platz frei war. Nicht so toll ist die Lage. Wenn man mobil sein möchte, ist es eher empfehlenswert, in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs eine Hotel zu nehmen. Ansonsten hat man einen ziemlichen Fußweg dorthin. Die grösseren Plätze sind im Moment alles Baustellen (wegen U-Bahn). Es gibt eine Art Supermarkt in der Nähe, allerdings ziemlich teuer. Die Straße, an dem das Hotel liegt, bietet auch Anschauungsmaterial für die Müllproblematik in Neapel, so fanden sich dort neben den Mülltüten auch eine zerschlagener Fernseher und anderer Hausrat. Für ein paar Euro mehr würde sich nach meiner Meinung das Hotel Mercure Napoli Garibaldi am HBF (Garibaldi Platz) anbieten. Keine Durchgangsstraße, und man hat den HBF direkt in der Nähe). Zimmer sind schallisoliert und einen Safe gibt es auch und der Fernseher bietet auch deutsche Programme. Ich war dort eine Woche später, und würde es trotz des etwas höheren Preises und der Tatsache, dass die Einrichtung nicht sehr neu ist, vorziehen. Mehr

Liegt sehr zentral, aber in einer Nebenstraße, deshalb nachts relativ ruhig. Außenfassade sieht etwas angegriffen aus, das Innere dagegen ist erst kürzlich renoviert worden (2007), deshalb alles sehr gut in Schuß und gepflegt. Zimmer für italienische Verhältnisse in dieser Preisklasse äußerst großzügig bemessen. Klimaanlage funktioniert perfekt. Central location, could walk from the train station. In historic area near the university. Fairly easy to find. The airline lost my luggage and the Front desk clerk Fabio was very kind. He called the airline on my behalf to find out when and where I would receive my luggage.

I had to wait for my room to become available as there was already a guest in the room who was expecting to stay a further night. Whether this was the hotel's or the guest's fault, I am not sure. Eventually the room was cleaned and made available to me at about 3.00pm, 2 hours of waiting, which spoilt the first afternoon, and was a waste of my time. The hotel itself was clean inside, the staff were helpful and the room was cleaned each day except for the final night when it was strangely not cleaned, The breakfast was very basic. Arrived late at night via airport bus with a half mile walk from Molo Beverello. A little daunting as the hotel is located in a back street off a large square, but I need not have been concerned as the area appeared trouble free. Check in was quick and efficiently carried out by the excellent English speaking David. He gave me some good information […] on local conditions, where to go/where not to go, restaurants, etc.The other receptionists were not as fluent. I found my own room which was on 4th floor via the lift. It was very warm in the room so had to switch a/c on by touch pad mounted on wall which sorted things out, it also gave weather readout. I travelled solo but was given a double room at no extra cost. It was spacious and clean throughout. Facilities included large f/screen tv, small fridge, keypad safe, shower room, basic complimentary toiletries. The hotel has been renovated during the last couple of years but there were certain elements on my floor that were still not completed (some floor lighting and tiles). Breakfast was adequate and served in a pretty soulless room with self serve cereals, croissant, toast, yogurt, crispbreads, cake, fruit, coffee, tea. There was a toilet in the hotel lobby but this had no water for hand washing. After checkout, bags could be stored in an area in front of reception. To sum up, a good standard budget hotel, situated in an area far enough away from less favourable areas but still close to the tourist hotspots. Wifi did not work. Mehr

We thought the hotel itself was really nice. Our room was very large and pretty high tech with the swipe card entrance. The staff on the other hand was not so friendly. When we arrived we were before the 1pm check in time so we wanted to drop off our luggage. That part was fine but I asked if I could use a washroom and I was told no. The next day I […] saw that there was a bathroom on the main floor. Breakfast ended at 10am and one morning we slept in. At 5 minutes to 10 we ran downstairs to grab a croissant to take back to our room and the man at the front desk said no breakfast was over. The croissants were still sitting out so we asked if we could take one and he said no, breakfast was done. At all of the other hotels we stayed at in Italy, the staff would always say hello and ask how our day was, their staff didn't even look up when we came in. The side street that the hotel is on is prtty sketchy but you only have to walk down it for a minute so it wasn't that big of a deal. I only wanted the room for a few hours due to flights and the hotel room was such an amazing aurprise.... new modern and clean! It even had my name on the control panel on the wall where I could control temperature and privacy etc... my only problem was that the room had not been used in a while and the temperature was 40 degrees and checking in at […] 11:30pm and trying to have a shower and some sleep before another flight WASN'T easy. The a/c worked brilliantly but it may have helped the hotel to have got a lower temperature set if at all possible!! We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Customer servide was very rude and they hardly said us a word - unless when we were leaving and they tried to charge us extra money. Air conditioner in our room did not work and it was about 40 degrees celsius hot in the room. Hote staff did not bother to help us with that problem.

Excellent BUDGET hotel located right in the heart of the historic district. This is a no frills hotel but it is clean, safe and super convenient. It is within walking distance of Porto Beverello (convenient if you are arriving by ferry). The Alibus Airport bus also stops right in front of the port (convenient if you are arriving by plane). Also, that metro line does not go to Stazione Centrale/Piazza Garibaldi. Walking directions from Ferry/Alibus: Keep the Castle Nuevo on your left, walk one block towards Banco de Napoli. Cross Corso Christopher Columbo towards the bank. Keeping the bank on your right, walk one block to Piazza Municipo. Turn right onto V. Agostino Depretis and walk straight towards the giant horse statue. At the horse statue, cross the large intersection towards another Banco de Napoli. Good place to stay as close to the main sights. In the process of doing the hotel up and the breakfast area could get a bit crowded but this will change once the upgrade is complete. Big room and lots of room to spread around. Helpful staff when air con didn't work. Good value for money. Would recommend.

Hotel neat and clean (although some peeling paint around windows), with friendly helpful staff. It is in the process of being refurbished (?), but most areas are finished in to a good standard. Bathroom was huge, but only contained shower; sink; toilet and bidet, so a lot of space. Being a small, city centre hotel do not expect a view (our room only […] had two small windows eight feet above the floor which opened in to an air space) as it is situated on a fairly quiet back-street near the city centre, but it is very close to most places of interest and is within walking distance of the station (20 mins) from which all of the historic/ancient sites are only about 30-40 mins away. Breakfast was basic, but ok, dining room -tiny. Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel, but as it has very few facilities, so best used as base to explore the Amalfi coast. There were both, relly nice and really unpolite stuff at the hotel. The cleaning lady displaced all our stuff while clening, which was weird. There were no maps for visitors. Hotel was clean and the price/quality was good. Braefast was ok.

Despite previous mostly positive reviews- our expectations were obviously too high for this property. Front desk staff seemed put off to be of any assitance. Room number just given and not writen down; key didn't work so gave us a new number but not new key; still didn't work and gave us another room number. The apparent only housekeeping/breakfast […] staff was extremely helpful and went out of her way to assist. Internet "was down" when I asked about it and when I asked the next day was just handed a code to get on. Not until I got back to the room did I know that I needed a cable but it still didn't work. Big spacious room with luxurious furniture but missing sink plug, toilet paper holder and glasses in the room. No guest binder with any instructions so it took us a bit to figure out the ac. Neighbourhood was a bit dodgy and noisy. Taxi from train station as no public transit nearby and too far to walk with luggage. Breakfast minimal. Wifi may have worked in the breakfast room. Only local calls from the rooms. Not many restaurants nearby. Mehr

It doesn't look much from the outside but Hotel del Golfo is really nice, modern and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and most speak English. The room was spacious and comfortable. Great location - everything is walking distance. Centro Storico at your back, Via Toledo, Santa Lucia a stone's throw away and even Piazza Garibaldi (train station) […] is only about 1.5 miles (1km) away. I loved Naples and would be happy to stay here again WHEN I go back! Mehr

For the price this was a nice little hotel. Breakfast could have been better. It can't help the street it's located on but inside looks very classy. Room air conditioned and free internet access (can be slow and not easy to find) which was great in the price. Very handy for the Port and old town.

Staff warmed to us once they knew we were "serious" travellers and appreciated their advice on local restaurants, transport, etc. Rooms very comfortable, quiet, and well-maintained. Good location for taking buses or walking to Archeological Museum and the older historic parts of Naples.

Situated on a grungy, dirty street, the hotel's tacky sign out front says it all. The staff was unwelcoming and brusque. The room was large and clean--minimum of furniture--only one chair, and that a desk chair, for example. The shower stall the smallest that I've ever seen--large people literally would be unable to get inside. Stingy with toilet paper. […] The best thing about the hotel was the terrace on the third floor--which the staff did not tell us about, nor did they tell other guests, it turned out. The elevator made a ridiculous ding-dong sound every time it was used, which could be heard in the room (our room was not located next to the elevator). Hoewel de hotel- en kamervoorzieningen erg basic zijn (ik had een éénpersoonskamer zonder uitzicht!), ben ik toch niet helemaal ontevreden over Hotel del Golfo. Prima locatie, vriendelijk personeel (als je tenminste een mondjevol italiaans spreeekt) en zeer propere kamer. Hotellet renoverades, vilket vi inte stördes av. Rummet var fräscht och trevligt. Väggarna är tunna och det finns det ingen utsikt att tala om. Det är nära (inom 100 m) till kollektivtrafik, både bussar (Bussarna R2, 202 till Centralstationen) och tunnelbana. Nous y sommes allés 3 nuits en février 2013. Il n'y avait pas grand monde dans l'hotel et on nous donné une chambre voutée très spacieuse. propreté et tenue impeccable. Accueil très correct. Cet hôtel est assez central pour visiter la ville.
